The nurse/tech explained everything well and ensured I felt comfortable before beginning the MRI. Also offered me a blanket since it was a little chilly which made me feel a lot better. Bonus: it's 2 days later and absolutely no bruising or marks of any kind where IV was inserted. So thankful for that! Today I also received a formal report via text with a link. I found the explanations of everything very helpful. It was made clear that my own doctor has the final say on how to interpret things, but I still found it to be very helpful to have access to the report ahead of my doctor appointment. BTW: When I first got the referral to Touchstone, I almost called my doctor back to request ARA since I'm already established with them, but I'm glad I just went with it or else I would not have known how good they are! This is not a knock against ARA; of course. Just that I'm glad I went a little outside my comfort zone to give Touchstone a try. :)

In fact the entire facility seemed knew and clean. The CT tech was an absolute blast! His beside manner is second to non! His instructions felt reasonable and easy to follow. This is my second CT scan by him and he only seems to have gotten better at his craft. Many thanks to Touchstone Imaging for a great experience!

This tech treated me like a 'cattle call' My appointment was very tardy and I felt like I was imposing. The tech was no where near compassion or personable. Sorry for you! However, it was Dr. O'Connell's attention to detail, professionalism and caring bedside manner that wins 5 stars for this review. She took her time during my examination and gave me her interpretation then and there. She sat with me to address any questions I had as well as gave me advise. I left her clinic reassured. Her office followed up with a letter confirming that my results were normal / benign. In contrast, I was sent to ARA (Austin Radiological Association) a few weeks ago to review a situation in my other breast. Although their office was also clean and quiet, the doctor never took the time to see me. He communicated his vague conclusions through the nurse. I had a few questions, which had to go through the nurse, and I had to wait until she returned from asking the doctor. This was a terrible experience as a patient when compared to the experience I had at Dr. O'Connell's office. I will go see her office for a second opinion, given that I know she is thorough. Who knows how thorough ARA is since I never got to see or talk to the doctor.

I was referred to this facility by my physician for an MRI on my foot. When I called to schedule…read morethe appointment, I was informed that their facility was out of network, but I wouldn't be charged anything. The facility would cover any costs incurred that my insurance didn't cover because they're new and building their business. Sounds easy for me, so I agreed to move forward with the appointment. When I arrived, I was asked to fill out lots of paperwork, all of which was normal- except the last three pages which were legal documents stating that I was responsible for anything my insurance didn't cover. The third document stated that if I was in need of financial assistant and had either a high deductible plan or was paying cash that they would offer some sort of payment for me. Well, that isn't the type of insurance I have, so I asked the administrator present for further detail. I let her know that I was uncomfortable signing the documents because I had been told that all of my expenses were covered verbally over the phone (she was actually the one that told me this) yet these documents stated otherwise. I let her know I'd be happy to sign these documents if she could provide me written documentation of what we discussed on the phone. She replied that she couldn't. I asked if she could email me a statement. Again, she said she couldn't. I replied that I didn't feel comfortable signing these documents without something in writing to protect my interest. I asked if I could take the documents home to look them over with my husband (my foot is broken, I would really like this MRI so I can get the correct treatment even if I'm feeling like this is getting weird) and she ripped them out of my hands and said that she would be shredding them. I'm sorry- how sketchy is that? I promptly left and called my doctor to let them know not to refer to the facility any more. I typically don't read these type of documents at a doctors office, yet thank goodness I did! If they're in network, great! If not, watch out.

My doctor's office is literally across the hall from this lab, so every year after my well woman's…read moreexam I end up there. And somehow... every single year... they magically bill me for something that should've been covered. At first I thought it was just one of those annoying insurance mix-ups. But after spending at least an HOUR every year playing mediator between the doctor, insurance company, and lab, it's starting to feel less like "oops" and more like a seasonal tradition. Usually they eventually fix it after I call enough times. Other times I've honestly just paid it because I value my sanity. This there were two tests I knew insurance wouldn't cover, paid for them upfront with my credit card, had the doctor separate them on a different form, AND asked for a receipt. The receipt only had the amount paid -- no description. Which already felt a little "interesting." Convenient that for some reason they have no way of putting a description what I paid for on this but every time they send me a bill it has a very accurate description of what they are billing me for. It's sad that it comes to me having to cord this interaction to protect myself. So I asked on video: "So these definitely will not be billed to insurance since I'm paying here?" Receptionist: "Yes." Fast forward to this week: guess who just got billed $36 for those exact same tests. At this point I'm not even mad about the money. It's the principle. Because I know a lot of people probably just sigh dramatically, pay the $30, and move on. But no. Not this year. This year I will be returning like a low-budget legal drama with my receipt, my credit card statement, AND my little video clip. Honestly the phlebotomists are sweet, but the front office acts like kindness costs extra. They are shockingly rude! So if this place keeps overbilling you too: fight it. Even if it's annoying. Or save yourself the headache and find a friendlier lab who doesn't routinely try to keep an extra 15- 30 from every visit.
