Wow what a treat! We love yelp! After a tour of the Golden Gate Bridge we settled here for a quick bite. The pasta is fresh and delicious. The pasta de la mare is great. The calamari is fresh and the mussels are great. For those of us who are lactose intolerant they make great oil based dishes. The pizza is fresh and thin. The prosciutto is fresh. And the mussel pizza very clever. The salmon was also super well cooked with a nice bed of spinach. Great work! read more

We found this place thru Yelp when my fam and I were in Sausalito for a day trip. It was already mid afternoon so this place wasn't busy when we came in. few things: parking: street mostly. I think they have a couple of parking spots but the area is around residences and the streets can have a lot of tourist bikers. place: pretty large. has a good view. I have to note: no changing station in the bathroom tho. service: pretty good. the server was very helpful. food came in right away considering our large party. food: portions are pretty large. good pasta and calamari. read more

My wife and I stopped into this delightful restaurant after driving around Mount Tamalpais. My wife had the salmon which she lived and I had the Saltimbocca alla romana with veal. Both dishes were delicious. I am certain that we will visit this restaurant again soon. read more

First, a request for those of you who drive to the restaurant: please take advantage of the free parking underneath the restaurant! Don't park in the driveways of the residents' nearby. I used to live across the street, and people would park in my driveway (even behind my car) because they were just going to the bathroom or stopping for coffee. Or stopping for an hour-long lunch. It got to be kind of obnoxious. FREE PARKING UNDERNEATH! Okay then. Most of the restaurants in Sausalito are downtown or further north, and Aurora is at the far south end. It is convenient and usually easy enough to find a table. Plus, the staff is very friendly. The wine is good. The food is good, not great--nothing has wowed me, although it has all tasted good. Friends have been wowed by the lasagna; I haven't found anything I love, so I switch it up each time I go. So far, that has meant a couple of pastas and the veal parmigiana. My main issue with the place: the servings are not large, at least for my leftover-loving diet. read more

We live in Sausalito and wanted to try out a new Pizza place. Based on the reviews here, my wife and decided to give Aurora a try. Both my wife and I chose a Pizza. Very disappointing. Quality of the Pizza was very much on the same (or even slightly lower) level as dominos. Anybody who has experienced original Italian Pizza will be very disappointed. There is a better option on Caledonia! read more

Random decision to come here but I'm glad we did. It's a small location off the main strip. It wasn't busy at all but the staff was very attentive and helpful. I also enjoyed how the sat quietly in a corner when they weren't busy. That's a big deal because being a former restaurant manager, I know that employees usually gossip in front of customers. Husband ordered pizza and I ordered pasta and a cappuccino. We loved everything we ate. read more

Covid accommodations were fine, no complaints there but we froze our butts off. We were indoors with others and everyone had to wear jackets to say slightly warm. They had both outside doors open and even when we asked them to close the doors they didn't as it would have made serving the outdoor tables a little harder. Simply couldn't enjoy a warm meal while freezing. Food was fine 3.5 at best. read more

Great food, excellent service, fabulous time with friends in Sausalito. This might not be a restaurant on the water but we like it that way. The menu here is vast, delicious, and works for all diet restrictions. We had a great time with friends here Sunday night we can back on Monday for a late lunch. Totally appreciate the awesome staff and their nice wine selection! Glad we found Aurora. read more

2 patios here, one on the street, the other tucked in back. That one has better ambiance! We had a very personable waiter who recommended the veal osso bucco. Delicious! Started with an italian sausage pizza which was excellent. Advertised as thin crust, it was really medium crust which pleased us. read more

Was very disappointed with this restaurant. Went for Sunday lunch here to find a fairly empty dining area, so doesn't seem very popular- a big contrast from downtown. Some seating outside had more people than inside. Was disappointed by a number of things. Firstly the food. I ordered the lasagne. It comes as a large slice of lasagne with no trimmings like side salad or any side. The pasta layers were chewy, and the meat sauce wasn't in any way tasty. I didn't finish, which is highly unusual for me. There was some bread served before the main course arrived. That was pretty stale, and again I only ate part of it. Lasagne was $20 which I think is way overpriced for a very bland version. Didn't taste in any way authentic Italian like some other places in the city. Also asked for a loan of a phone charger, and waited at the bar for 5 minutes for them to tell me it was in use. Service was slow in general and I just wanted to get out of the place quickly. With the quality of places in the Bay Area, this place is well below par in every way. read more

Aurora Ristorante is a treasure. Tonight had the salmon and it was delicious. I also love their pasta dishes. Wonderful restaurant, wonderful food, wonderful service and it is delightful to have dinner there. Cesar who was always the star service waiter and manager has now bought the restaurant. I think the food is better than ever. Love the selection of menu and the wine menu. Recommend it as a great Sausalito place to have lunch, drinks or dinner. read more

Brought my family to Sausalito for a weekend getaway. We stopped by Aurora because we wanted a more relaxing and quiet atmosphere. The restuarants on the main street are usually very crowded and loud. What we got in addition was friendly service and great food. The pizza was baked perfectly, evenly warmed without burnt edges. The pasta my wife ordered was equally wonderful. However, my favorite was the Tiramisu. Freshly made this morning and goes perfectly with my port. My kids love their ice cream treat as well. read more

This was my first visit to Aurora in Sausalito. It popped up on Open Table when I was looking for a last minute reservation for 9 people for a Friday night. When I read the reviews I was like , wow, how come I've never heard of this place. It is not in the busy part of Sausalito at all. It's out on the way to the bridge from the south end of town. Parking was easy and free. We were graciously welcomed, served the most amazing bruschetta: complimentary. Overall, our group ordered about 6 different dishes and each one was beautiful and delicious. I had read high praise for the Chicken Picatta--3 of us ordered it and we all agree it was the best we had ever had. Honestly-- try this place. The pasta and pizza were also very good. The service was friendly and efficient. We were surprised that the restaurant was almost empty on this Friday night. I think we should support this casual, wonderful spot. Take a large group. They don't rush you. read more

We drove by today and noticed they had pizza! We ordered to go because we were on our way to the beach. The pizza was delicious, it was just perfect. Not greasy at all and felt light..but it was filling my kids loved it and so did my husband and I. The staff was friendly and quick to offer us the menu and a place to sit. Next time we are in the area I would love to eat inside and try their pasta. It's a nice cleans medium size restaurant. read more

Came here on the fourth of November. Me and my babe loved it ! i got the Linguine alla pescatora, my god it was so good. the sauce was alittle watery so i got dirty trying to eat it but it was still really good, i love sea food !! my man got the alfredo one, and he said it was good as well. will be coming back again whenever we are in town!! service was good, food came out in a decent time. read more

This was a great meal. It started out with nice bread and nice balsamic and olive oil. I then got the gnocchi with alfredo which was delicious. The wait staff was good. All in all I would say this is a great dinner spot and a good restaurant. read more

Just by happenstance we found this gem! We enjoyed a Giants baseball game in the afternoon and decided to do some sight seeing which led us to Sausalito. The food was the closest we had to our visit in Italy. Wonderful fresh seafood, pasta, and very accommodating to some food allergies. Cesar was delightful and made us feel welcomed. Overpriced. Claims $$. It's actually $$$ or $$$$. $16 for two 1.5-inch crab cakes. Although they were nicely decorated with a few spinach leaves. $20 for 6 tiny ravioli. Decent food though. Only the pizza was worth the price. read more

Best Margherita gluten free pizza I've ever had (and I've tried A LOT)!! The crust was not too thin and tasted like REAL crust. The mozzarella was fresh and creamy. My husband liked my GF pizza better than his regular! We tried the eggplant rolls as an appetizer which were also delicious. Great ambience. Service was great by the end, but staff seemed a bit unfriendly in the beginning. Overall, we loved it. read more

Found this awesome Italian place after we had biked across the Golden Gate Bridge and were heading to the ferry terminal at Sausalito. Their "Ravioli al pollo" was super yummy. The waiter was pleasant and he also called out the house specials for the day and we picked a chicken dish from that. We enjoyed garlic bread for starters. Overall, very yummy Italian food. They have a bike rack as well..!! read more

We arrived at 7:30pm and didn't leave until almost 10pm.... 2.5 hours of my life I'll never get back. EXTREMELY slow service & under staffed. We didn't even get water for 30 minutes and the bread didn't arrive until we were almost done with our dinner. Seafood pasta was totally over cooked. The shrimp was so hard, we couldn't even cut the shrimp with a fork and had difficulty cutting through it with the knife.... very disappointed. read more

I just moved up the street from this spot and Cesar has taken very very good care of me since the first day I wandered over there! Their lasagna is absolutely amazing! And as an avid cook myself, who prides herself in her lasagna making skills, I'd have to say it's one of the best lasagnas I have ever tasted. (And I've been to Italy 3 times!) It is good Italian food at reasonable prices (for Sauslalito), but the true selling point is it's location. In walking distance to downtown Sausalito, but just off the beaten path enough to be quiet and a little less pricey then similar options down the street. My favorites are the pasta bolognese and the seafood pescatore. My husband prefers their homemade meat ravioli. The areas they could do better. Prices are still high, so things should be cooked properly. The seafood piscatore is my favorite dish, though I have had a gritty muscle, and the shrimp have consistently been overcooked. The rest of the seafood in it is perfect, especially the salmon. Overall it's delicious, these are just the areas it could use improving. Also, their desserts are not great, so I would skip those here and go elsewhere for dessert. Otherwise a nice, quiet, tasty Italian restaurant in an outstanding location. After dinner walk 10 minutes along the Bay, and you have seen some of the most beautiful views the SF Bay has to offer. read more

They do not know what Italian food is not service! We arrive and the waiter was kind of upset, it took few minutes before someone acknowledged us and got us a table. The service was slow, seemed to have relatives of the employees dinning in and were more attentive to them. Finally the food came in after a long wait and my Lasagna was so over cooked that you couldn't identify the pasta from any other layer, it was a Sloppy Joes with Italian store bought sauce and part of it was cold!. My husband's ordered chicken Parmesiana and the sliver of chicken was so small, like I 1/4 of chicken Breast. So bad and so expensive for what it was. All the reviews of these local Guide people must be fake or paid. read more

I tried the margarita and pepperoni pizzas. I can't say it was the best I have ever had, but I guess it's not the worst either. I think I would have liked a Digiorno better. Sorry Aurora. On the good side the service was amazing. The servers were attentive and kept checking in on us. I will probably come back and try something else because of the great service. read more

Every time I am in Sausalito this is my go to place! Ten times better then the tourist spots right on the water that you wait way too long to get a table at and pay double the price. The restaurant is classic Italian and I LOVE the pizza here, some of the best pizza I have ever had! The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. I love eating here and I will continue to eat here when I visit and I highly recommend stopping here and getting one of their pizzas and tiramisu! read more

So so good! Came to celebrate my birthday dinner. Some of the best food we had on our SF trip. It was about a 10 minute walk from the ferry. It was a small restaurant and the staff was very attentive and it seemed like they truly wanted everyone to have a good meal. I got the chicken parm which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was some of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend got the ravioli with Alfredo sauce.. so good. The creme brûlée was SO good! Prices were very reasonable. It's one of those meals I will keep thinking about. Definitely a must! read more

Their menu isn't as big as their San Francisco location, but it offers the most popular items like their famous ciopppino and many other dishes. We were brought ice waters and sourdough bread and butter. The bread was so warm and fresh. Very comforting. My husband ordered their special of the day, which was the grilled wild California king salmon. And I ordered the linguine con vongole, which is linguine with clams. Our food came out fresh and hot. My husband loved his salmon. My linguine and clams were good but overly salty. Our waiter noticed I wasn't eating my dish and asked if everything was okay. I let him know that it was very salty. Without hesitation, he removed my plate and had the kitchen remake it for me. He was so nice about. My remade dish was brought out to me and it was perfect. There were a hefty portion of the clams and the linguine was cooked at a perfect al dente. The manager came out to apologized for my first dish being overly salty and wanted to be sure the remade dish was just right. I really appreciated their kindness and making sure our evening was perfect. You can tell that they really care about their customers. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with a delicious piece of tiramisu for our anniversary. The plate was decorated like a piece of art with chocolate. The tiramisu was delicious and the perfect ending to our delicious meal.

I was left waiting about 45 minutes with no update--no notice of a delay, no mention that there might not be a driver available, nothing. What made it worse was calling the restaurant for help. The response I received felt dismissive, and I was simply told the order was canceled. There was no effort to assist or provide any explanation. Yes, I received a refund, but that's not the point. Good customer service is about communication and respect for your customers' time. A quick update could have made a big difference. I hope the restaurant improves how they handle situations like this and works more closely with Grubhub to keep customers informed.

We started off with some sparkling water and Italian lemonade. The menu consists of starters, pasta, pizza and entrees. They also gave us a small menu of their daily specials. We started off with the Vesuvio pizza which is a MUST get! Piping hot pizza with spicy tomato sauce, bell peppers, sausage and smoked mozzarella. It was the spicy sauce that made this pizza so delicious! For entrees, we ordered a few dishes to share: the ribeye steak (special), Linguine Vongole with clams, Scampi and Petrale Sole Meuniere (special). Every dish was flavorful, fresh with good portion sizes. I love that even the steak was not drenched in salt. Mild sauces and sodium bought out the true taste of the steak and seafoods. You feel the love in the food like home made Italian food that you would make your family. There is the convenience of a parking lot right next door though expensive ($18/hour) or street parking. I highly recommend Angelino the next time you're in Sausalito!

The Caesar salad was nothing special, no flavor, and we had to ask for extra dressing. The calamari appetizer didn't look appealing and lacked a fresh, vibrant color. Nothing was included with my $44 fish dish, so I had to order a side of roasted potatoes for extra $8, which were not fresh at all. When I asked our waiter, he said they make them daily, which likely means they were made anytime in the morning. Overall, it was not worth the $198 we spent on a tasteless dinner. Very disappointed that we chose Luna Blu for our special day, and we will definitely not be going back. Basically, you're paying for the view.

We piled up the uneaten dishes and were not asked once how the food was.. It's such a shame, especially being an Italian restaurant. They have a wine and beer only menu. I ordered a Corona and that was good! The wine menu is very low end and I didn't want to pay $14 for a mediocre glass. I imagine people eat there so they have a reserved table for the music? I'll be back for the shows but will skip the food for sure. Too bad, as it could be a great all around spot.

I had dinner there on Sunday night. You are greeted with a big Welcome as you walk thru the door. On your way out it is Thank You for coming. The service was top notch and an all around wonderful evening. We had a Pere e Pecorino salad that was so fresh and the honey balsamic dressing was yummy. We split a mushroom and sausage pizza next and these guys know how to do pizzas. They are all thin crust and 6 slices. But the highlight of the evening was the Cioppino special. A brothy platter of fresh clams, mussels,calamari,salmon and jumbo prawns for $22.00. It was one of the freshest and most mouth watering dishes I have ever had at a restaraunt. This dish was a 10 stars if you can go that high. I can't wait to go back. We did not have any wine but there wine list is 5 pages long and has a description of every wine they sell. I came here last Saturday night for the first time. We drove over from the city to check it out because of all of the good reviews. It was fantastic, the food was amazing! I ordered the spinach salad with almonds/honey/balsamic and it was so fresh and delicious!!! I also had spaghetti arrabiata and it was perfect! Great wine selection too. And the waiter was great! So friendly and attentive with a great sense of humor. Also, the location is great too, a quiet street and easy parking too. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone heading over to Marin. read more

This restaurant is for sure serving up frozen pizzas. The service is also horrible! It took 50 minutes to get 2 pizzas and the restaurant was completely empty. We asked for an update after waiting for 30 minutes and the server said the pizza is being cut and will come out shortly. After waiting 20 more minutes, we finally received our our pizzas and when we went home and opened the boxes THEY WERENT EVEN CUT!!! read more
