Having an older car but also using my wife's new car, I have grown to love having a back-up camera. I knew from a prior misfire that installation was not that easy, but Hatch and his folks did the job perfectly, on time and at the quoted price, even though he said it had taken quite a bit longer than anticipated. His central location is a plus, but the biggest reason to use Audio Symphony is that they do the job on time, on budget and properly. read more

I was in the market for a IPOD connector for my 2007 Jaguar XKR. (I can't believe it didn't come with one). Also, I was annoyed by the antenna that went up (which is built into the rear glass on subsequent models) So searched for a Auto stereo specialist on Yelp. These guys were courteous and professional on the phone...and actually called me back with answers for the questions I had about additional options on my car (the antenna). I ended up going in for the IPOD connector, It took a few hours and I was super impressed with thier qualiy of work and value. It was one of those rare...under promise...over deliver, experiences that I love as a consumer. Also, they took care of the antenna issue, now I can raise or lower it with a switch installed inside. Both problems fixed with...minimal hoopla. I'm so glad I found a car stereo place I can trust. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for car stereo upgrades and more. read more

Great experience with Mr. Hatch at this location. I wanted to install a pair of sub woofers in my older lexus and was very happy with the price and service. It was less than I was expecting to pay and the car was done the same day! I will note that the work was done on a Wednesday and I brought it to the shop first thing in the morning. Not sure if they advertise same day service but I would have paid a bit more for that anyway. Great job to these guys. read more

I worked with Hatch and Chris on getting my Toyota Highlander audio system to work with my iPhone. It turns out that Toyota didn't make this very easy - at least back in 2006! Hatch went above and beyond to make everything right, including installing a switch so I could reset my toyota audio system when it got confused. Highly recommended! read more

Audio Symphony just did a great job installing an aftermarket front camera on my car. They had never done this before because it is a unique part, but within a few hours they worked their magic and completed a perfect install at a good price. Thank you! read more

Hatch is amazing. Spent time to go through the stereo options with us, did the install in a few hours, walked us through how to use it. Definitely recommend! read more

Had them replace my radio and speakers on my convertible VW Beetle. They took good care of me and were able to install the same day.

For Reference, I have had multiple Car systems installed over the years. All have been 2000 plus watts and I always went to shops in the bay area I never once had to pay more than 1500$ and That was including sound mat and A custom built subwoofer enclosure...Fast forward a couple years and I have a new GMC Yukon Denali and want a system put in...Audio Symphony was highly reviewed so I went for a quote, brought all of my equipment and after a 10 minute look at the vehicle and all of my amps and stuff they took me inside and quoted me....5000$ WTF??!! a completely custom install should cost no more than 2k! and that is IF everything is custom Built!!! These guys are Rip off artists to be sure, they were also very condescending, I was not happy with the level of customer service as well. Just because your shop is in SF doesn't mean you can charge astronomical prices!! I was going to ask for a price break down but I just walked away....Bad customer service + high price = no business I have since been quoted from 700$ to 1200$ for this install and this includes a custom box!! people please dont over pay for such services!!! read more

It was simply the best car stereo install process I've had. I brought in my own stereo purchased somewhere else, and they treated me just like I purchased it from them. They answered all my questions. The stereo works perfectly. read more

FIVE (5) Stars for Hatch and his crew... I shopped around for a good auto sound system and based on prior Yelp reviews, I chose Audio Symphony. My experience was great because: * No pressure in the sales area - I was given low-key options from low-cost to high end and none of the usual "pressure" to buy up * On-time service - I was told 2 hours for installation and it was a few minutes less than that * Thorough explanation and intro to my new sound system * Service with a smile throughout the transaction. I can't recommend A/S enough. The best customer service and quality I've received in a long time read more

I have come back to AS over the years and always received the best service and follow up. Satisfaction is clearly their goal.

I have been using Audio Symphony now for several years for both my Mercedes S Class and Toyota 4Runner For the Medcedes I had a new updated Bluetooth system installed and connection for my Iphone/Ipod For the 4Runner I had a new CD/Stereo and Bluetooth system installed In both cases , Hatch and Audio Symphony did an excellent job with their recommendations and installations In a nutshell....Audio Symphony continues to provide: *Quality *Reasonable Price *Honesty *Reliability I would highly recommend Audio Symphony and will continue to use them to upgrade both cars as technology changes read more

This place and its people are solid. I bought an alpine with bluetooth+mic to retrofit my old xTerra. It was a great price and done well. Hatch was also nice enough to take some of my Alpine menu questions that I didn't feel like looking up in the manual over the phone post install. A year later the mic wire got loosened under the passenger side front seat and my buddy accidentally yanked it out with his foot. This was due to a recent major service that I had done on the xTerra. Hatch replaced it with a small labor charge only and threw in the replacement mic for free. Honest and good to work with. I will be back for whatever I need next! read more

If five stars are all I can give, it's not good enough. I recently took my car to Audio Symphony for an upgrade to its 15-year-old sound system. Because my automobile is a 30-year-old borderline classic, I had a few concerns, all of which Hatch addressed patiently and thoroughly before proceeding. Result: I was completely blown away with both the product and the service. I could not be happier about my choice to come here. It even cost less than what I figured. No up-selling, no pressure; just a totally relaxed and comfortable process, good sincere advice and a lot of TLC. Hatch, thank you so much. read more

Audio Symphony designed and flawlessly installed a highly complex A/V experience for my new home. It includes a multi-room, indoor/outdoor audio system and two surround sound-enabled flat panel TVs. My requirements were demanding, but Audio Symphony enthusiastically took them on. For instance, I didn't want the 60" plasma TV in the living room to be an interior design distraction, so Audio Symphony worked with a cabinetmaker to devise a novel lift system hidden within a faux wall that allows the big TV to remain completely hidden from view when not in use. The results exceeded my highest expectations. The owners, Hedy and Farzin, are true perfectionists. They truly practice "measure twice, cut once". They are also very forthcoming with all cost considerations and are willing to provide various alternatives at different price points. There were no surprises, and my project came in on budget. I give Audio Symphony my highest recommendation. read more

Twenty years ago (in about 1990), Audio Symphony (then Auto Symphony) placed a music system in my newly rebuilt family room. For twenty years it was great success. Most recently, Audio Symphony had to return and restructure my music system in the same family playroom. To make a long story short, new technology - including videodisc players and game controllers were added (by me and my son) to my old system and we did well enough to "get by." Internet, telephone, and cable providers also intervened with complicating connections and components until the final result was a mess. In one quick morning visit, Audio Symphony replaced my old AV Receiver, and CD Player. A new Video Disc (including Internet Connected Player) was introduced, and the errors of the inexperienced cable and telephone providers and installers corrected. Component connection is vastly simplified. Audio Symphony was good 20 years ago, and they have not changed; Audio Symphony is just as good - if not better today. read more

I came in to have an ipod kit installed on my car so I could listen to it through my stock radio. I got there early but still had to wait an additional 15 minutes as the representative was late to open the store. Spoke to the representative who was confident and said it would be done in about an hour. After waiting 45 minutes I got a call from them indicating I needed a special cable which was at an additional cost so I approved it and waited another 30 minutes. Once completed, I drove away and all seemed great. After a few days I realized my GPS navigator (no power) which is built into my car did not function. So I took it back on a different day. Waited an hour and drove away thinking all was fine although then I realized the GPS function worked but the quality of was poor. Everytime I hit the acceleration a high pitch noise would come from the speakers and I had a hard time controlling the playlists or ipod function from the radio.I called them back and had to schedule a THIRD visit to resolve the issue. On the third visit, after waiting yet another hour, they said they fixed it so I could control the ipod better. I left and realized the GPS system no longer had sound and after a few days the high pitch noise came back when I accelerated. They indicated it was the ipod kit (was sold by Volvo dealership) and not their installation. Had the nerve to get a minor attitude about it. Although after speaking with the manufacturer of the ipod kit they indicated there isn't a lot of space behind the radio/dash of the car and likely a wire was bent causing the poor quality in sound when accelerating. I was upset after spending $200 for the installation, having to go back 3 times and the ipod kit/GPS not working properly. I give up!!! After three visits I don't want them touching my car again. Who knows what will not work next. If they're not confident in accessories that they don't sell they should not offer to install them yet alone charge you $200. Or at least refund your money for the trouble and time. read more

These duded jammed it tight, tight in my dash and made it look sweet for my old car. I was like? You gonna jam that thing in, deep? They were like yeah, I was like be careful, if could hurt, they said no way, and jammed it deep and cleaned up the mess. Made it look great, stereo is rocking now, fully professional. read more

Never got started. They wanted to charge $150 just to provide the ESTIMATE for mounting a flat screen to my ceiling. No over the phone ballpark either. You shouldn't have to pay to know how much you're going to pay. read more

If you like being treated like you're a nuisance from the moment you walk in the door, enjoy attitude and disrespect, and find no value in your time, then go talk to the guy with the shaggy blond hair at Audio Symphony. I'm in the market for a new car stereo after my old one died. Since it was a good head unit, I figured I'd at least look into what it would cost to repair before I just replaced it. I called down and spoke to someone (not Shaggy) who said they'd be happy to at least take a look at it and give me a recommendation, and possibly send it to the manufacturer for repair. So I drove down there, and all I got from Shaggy was the palatable sense that I was putting him out by just being there. For all I know, they do great work, but they won't get a single dollar from me while that guy's employed there. He must be doing great to be treating people like that in this economy. read more

I was looking for a reputable shop to purchase/install a car alarm so I turned to Yelp. I picked this location based on the reviews and accessibility. It's about 5 blocks to the 38 on Geary and Van Ness, so I could still get around the city without relying on someone to pick me up or call a taxi. I called to see if they would take a walk-in and they told me to bring it in. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding since the work couldn't be accomplished that day. Nick said he would still look at it and would call half-hour prior to closing. I never got a call and when I called the shop back, they said they were still swamped with other work. I live an hour out of the city and only commute here during the weekends. The manager said they would work past closing to get it done but all their workers had already gone home for the day. Inconvenienced but still needing the alarm, I left the car over the weekend. They offer a lifetime guaranty on their car alarms. The total including parts, installation, and tax was roughly $280. Due to the promise of same-day installation not kept I knocked off a star. They cost more than BestBuy but I wouldn't trust them with any car installation work, not even computers. You pay for quality and I haven't had an issue so far. The alarm has been working fine for 2 months now. If I had to do it again (and had the time), I would pick Costco's $300 alarm including part, S/H, and installation. It had all the features I was looking for but I needed an alarm ASAP. Overall, my experience with this business was good. Any questions I had were answered. read more

Searching the city of SF for a great place to get a great deal & great customer service may be difficult. I asked my mechanic about a place to install a good sound system in my car. Without hesitation he sent me to Audio Symphony. I went to the location @ Van Ness Ave & felt welcomed as I worked through the door. Chris Roberts explained to me with detailes different car's sound systems & showed me very reasonable costs for my car. With his help it was very easy to decide. It did not take long to install. Very glad and thankful my mechanic knew just the place to go for excellent service! Highly recommend them! A. Rodriguez read more

After struggling to find a car audio place that would install my external XM radio to my specifications (antenna inside, no wires showing, non-permanent mount), my husband found Audio Symphony on Yelp and made an appt. for me. They couldn't have been more courteous or more accomodating. They explained things very well to me, and I am admittedly someone who doesn't have much knowledge in this area. They did exactly what I wanted them to do. The final cost met the estimate, and the car was ready as promised. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I walked in at around 3pm last Friday looking to add an iPod adapter to my Acura - turns out they had the part in stock and time open, so by 5pm I was out of there with an iPod enabled car...and for slightly less than the initial quote I was given. Nobody tried to upsell me during the process either. Would definitely go back if I need further car audio work. read more

My '93 Mercedes' CD changer broke and I stopped by Audio Symphony for help. The owner, Hedy, patiently walked me through my options, all the way from repairing the unit I had to replacing it with a new one. He explained the pros/cons of them all, and let me decide what to do. There was no high-pressure salesmanship, which I really appreciated. Hedy also knows his stuff: we ended up chatting about audio products for like 30 minutes and I learned a lot from him -- he even drew me diagrams when explaining the various audio sampling rates in car stereos! They obviously know their stuff inside-out, which makes me feel comfortable bringing my car them, knowing they won't hack into a wiring harness, or clip some wires, or fail to ground things properly or something. Customer service was excellent, too. They've earned my loyalty! In fact, I'm heading back to AS soon for some upgrades in my other car. These guys rock! read more

Went in to buy a couple of speakers for my classic car. Went home and installed them both. Sound was better but a day later I went back to see if Hatch and the gang could make some improvements. We were fortunate to have connected with Farzin and his team. I needed security cameras installed in my SF home. The process was efficiently and painlessly done. I can be away during the day and it is nice to be able to monitor the home while away and particularly while there was ongoing construction. What distinguishes this team is however the long term service guarantees that are offered. Almost a year later the settings on my security camera system were inadvertently changed. Farzin promptly responded and took care of the problem. These guys are great and I would highly recommend them to any of my friends. read more

Went in here based on a recommendation from my Land Rover mechanic. He highly recommended these guys. Chris helped me out on an aux cord installation. Clean shop. Knowledgeable staff. While original installation appeared to have an issue with the grounding cable, turned out it was actually an iPhone 4s issue, which Chris and the installer resolved easily with a grounding isolator. Now I can listen to my iPhone, use it hands-free, all for around $300. Glad I found these guys. Top notch. read more

Hatch was referred to me as a resource for modifying the stock stereo in my BMW 5-series. Instead of the $1200 quote I got from the BMW dealer, or the $800 quote I got from a shop on Jackson, I was in and out of there in under an hour (after having to reschedule on him earlier that week even) for $300 and still have the basic components intact (steering wheel controls, CD player/tuner, etc) just an added aux cable that needed a converter to get around the DSP. I am very grateful for their terrific service! read more
