I'm not much of a car expert and I don't know about you, but I get somewhat anxious about getting ripped off when it has to do with my car. Like getting your car fixed up for something and then unexpectedly having to fix two other things that you had no idea were broken before you came into the shop. BUT. I'm confident to say that I had none of that here at Audio Symphony. My husband and I wanted to get a back-up camera installed in our car and we came here to get it done. The owner who helped us, Hatch, was such a pleasure to work with and we felt like we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into without the frills. He helped us pick a new head unit (definitely get one that has Airplay! It's totally worth it!) and ordered all the parts we needed to have our back-up camera installed. We had an appointment to turn our car in a few mornings after and we picked it up by end of day. It felt like we left with a brand new car! This place is really bad. The speakers they installed are not working and they cracked the casing for the stereo. I went back once to have the fix it but it broke again in a few weeks. I read all the great reviews on Yelp, so I went here to get my car stereo replaced and Sirius satellite radio mounted. I felt like I was being upsold and did not feel like the pricing was at all reasonable. A few weeks later when I went back after (part of) my new car stereo had been stolen they were not helpful at all and told me I'd just have to start from scratch and pay full price for everything. No! Please avoid Audio Symphony if you need dependable, professional help. I paid 150 dollars to connect DVD and remote controls for my new apt. A guy, Alfred, came in to connect, but TV controls I have were not really stable. I should call him if not working, Alfred said. It was not working I found out after 3 days he came in. Accordingly, I called Audio Symphony, (a few minutes after I found out system was not working) an owner explains to me with these words..... "FUCKING REMOTE CONTROL is NOT WORKING. I am not doing what I need to do. Buy another remote control ----" I said to him I would rather speak to Alfred who seemed more professional than owner. To: Owner of Audio Symphony 1) I feel sorry for your life. Be thankful that you are still there. 2) With 150 dollars to you for connectivity which is not working. I called for help. After BMW of SF said they couldn't (or wouldn't) do ipod cable for our 325i, we contacted Audio Symphony on BMW's recommendation. We sent an email for a quote. Hatch got back to us the same day. We had a series of questions and every time, heard back within a couple of hours or by end of the day. The quote he gave us ($325) was exactly what it ended up costing. No surprises. We went in on a Sat. afternoon and it was done in 3 hours. We now can listen to iphone or ipod in the car, and the ipod charges itself while plugged in. Iphone requires different cable.... Sound quality is perfection - though you may need to adjust equalizer in ipod settings if it's staticky... No damage or marks on the console from installation and the cable is long enough to be able to move it around to our satisfaction and keep it out of sight... Thanks for great service. Hedy and Farzin are the definition of Professional. I wanted to get a home theatre and they made what would normally be a 3 month process into 1 week process. They took care of everything (like wiring and drilling) for me and got it all perfect on their first try. They not only helped with the acoustics of the room, but also with the theatre chairs, speakers, and T.V. If I wanted something that they didn't have in stock then they would go out of their way to order it just for me. They also keep me informed through ever single step so that I would have a clear picture of what was going on. Car Audio - They know the difference between ported and sealed enclosures (and know the give and take of the quality of decibels vs accuracy).Sales are straightforward and have a team of installers that are flexible. Job: New head unit, with GPS antenna, bluetooth microphone, amplifier for lowend, and subs (and the given wires). Output: Metal, hip hop, the rest... Quality of install is clean post job. Suspected disclosed sound is what I received. No exaggeration, exactly the tight sound I wanted. Hatch is fair and had a good interpration of I what I wanted. Not pushy, patient, and intuitive with the brands he has. I used to install car audio way back when, Right gauge of wires used , no hint of alternator whine., nice clean wire from the battery to thru the firewall. Honesty goes a long way!!! It's difficult to find people of integrity at the retail level. Usually, they think of making the sale *first* and your needs second. Not Hatch, the audio professional at Audio Symphony. He assessed my needs and promptly directed me back to my dealership and gave me a referral. He told me that he *could* do the job (He was one of few who actually could) but, it would cost me less at the dealership and I'd have parts that are native to the vehicle. I was impressed. I didn't actually go in to Audio Symphony, but I was surprised at how helpful and candid they were over the phone--most places aren't even as helpful in person when you have your wallet out than these guys were on the phone. To run my iPod through my stock stereo some other shop had put in a FM modulator and a proprietary ipod cable, routed through the back of the stereo, but it often creates terrible static and the sound is never great. This guy walked me through the entire process on the phone, checked his database, and offered me the two viable options--a 5 minute phone call, without any impatience at all. This will be the first place I go when I actually decide to change/upgrade the car stereo. read more

I am a native to San Francisco and have driven passed Audio Symphony for years. In the past I have trusted my vehicles to 18 year olds at Best Buy and Circuit City for no other reason than I thought it would be cheaper than a stereo store at the base of Pacific Heights in San Francisco. Boy was I wrong. At best buy and some of the other local shops where you see the rows of Honda Civics with the wack pack in front of the stores pumping high energy Harajuku love songs on their car stereos, you get what you pay for. You get some 18 year old, wreaking of clearasil, trying to push the high inventory items or the most expensive equipment and then push you into some kind of useless additional warranty. So you walk out of these shops with stuff you really didn't want or need and you have not saved a dime. But Audio Symphony is different. First off, Hatch is a pretty straight forward, patient and knowledgeable salesman. There selection is not as deep as some of the bigger stores, but they do carry quite a selection of mid level to high end equipment. So your choice is pretty much between good, better and best. Can't ask for much more than that. When I went in, I was simply looking for an I-Pod adapter to connect to my stock deck in my Honda civic. I was ready to spend a couple of hundred dollars, and then I met Hatch. He broke down all my options with no pressure and I walked out with $400 less in my bank account. But I received a new Alpine deck, beautifully installed, quickly installed, my I-Pod adapter and an amazing sounding system. They even offered to give me a ride home while they installed my stereo. Who does that? So if you are at that stage in life where you value service, craftsmanship and overall value, go to Audio Symphony. read more

I have taken my rig to Audio Symphony twice over the past 18 months and both times the work was done in a timely professional manner. Price that was quoted is what was paid. Both Hedy and Hatch are great to work with. The guys there actually go above and beyond with additional ideas and parts (for free in my case) and really helped me out with an issue I was having with my Land Rover. I recommend Audio Symphony to anyone that needs electronic work done to their vehicle. They have some toys to make great electronic work even better (Blu Tooth, DVD players, Navigation, after market electronics, etc...). Very positive visit and results on both instances: - installing an iPod connection in an Audi A4 with the least modification to the interior AND without affecting FM reception. Car was ready in the time frame quoted (actually earlier) at a reasonable rate, with Great Full sound for all modes. - going back almost a year later to ask help to troubleshoot the interface of the factory installed Bluetooth system. My 2005 Toyota Highlander AC control had some wires break on the circuit board. Talked to Hatch and he had me bring it in to re-solder new wires in place of the faulty ones. For anyone with a Highlander in the 2001-07 models this is a common problem that Toyota will not fix or put out a recall on but they will charge you $1,200 for a new AC controller and labor. DO NOT DO THAT. Talk to Hatch and see if they can fix it first. I finally have cool air again after weeks of burning up with only hot air blowing out. You cannot go wrong bringing your cars in here for anything audio and also electronic repairs. read more

The people in this place are awesome. Farzin spent about 30 mins educating me about hi fi systems, from speakers to amps to cd players. He played the same song on each speaker for me patiently, explaining the difference of sound of each one in turn. We went through almost 5. Saw the consistently good reviews on Yelp and decided to give Audio Symphony a try. I'm very happy that I did. Dealt mostly with Chris; outstanding customer service and he did not try to sell me anything that I did not need - which was very much appreciated. I wanted a system for my 11-year old car that worked with Apple Car Play; no more (distracted) driving around with earbuds in. Chris recommended the Alpine iLX-007 (no markup over what you can find it for online) and let me know that I could stick with my factory speakers. The install was professional, quick and flawless. The system sounds outstanding. The dash kit manufacturer sent the wrong version of the kit with a different finish. Instead of sending me home from the install without my new system, they installed the system that day using the mismatched dash kit and contacted the manufacturer to send the one with the correct finish. Went back to have the new dash kit installed, which was done in the same professional, quick and flawless manner.
