I never thought to write a good review for them till now. I purchased a blue tooth Pioneer Audi with Back up Camera in Feb 2018. I noticed that lines of the back mirror is more triangular than square. So I called them if there is a software update available for the unit. They said it's adjustable by setting. So I went the shop last Saturday. And they showed me how I can adjust the line the way I want. I feel their customer service is outstanding and highly recommend if you want to install a blue tooth backup camera for your vehicle. Quite often sales people are nice when you try to buy something. But after you buy a item, most salesman don't care about the service. But they are different. Hatch took care my issue. He is excellent. Thank you very much. read more

Audio Symphony updated the sound in my old school Tacoma truck. The new speakers sound a million times better than to stock speakers, and the installation was fast. I made an appointment, dropped the truck off, and picked it up at the end of the day. They are COVID conscious and are respectful of personal space, so you don't have to worry about your space being invaded during a pandemic. The construction out front is a bit confusing, but they have their own private driveway / access to their shop just off of Pine Street behind the gas station. They used the existing, original speaker space to install the new ones, so everything looks the same, but the sound is MUCH better! They also insulated inside the doors, keeping the sound inside the cab. I use the truck for off road adventure, and they assured me the connections would be solid and not come loose. They also made it known that they stand behind their work and product and would address any future concerns should they arise. All in all, a great shop - These guys have been around for years and years and I highly recommend them. read more

Update: I had some more work done on the radio by another well regarded car stereo store in SF. When I got the car back, I noticed that there were additional new scratches where the old ones had been. To me, this proves that both Audio Symphony and the second store scratched my dash when they worked on the radio. I recently purchased a one year old, certified pre-owned car with an interior that was perfect, not a scratch anywhere. The stereo didn't have an ipod interface, so I went to these guys to install one. The guy I talked to on the phone was generous with his time and Yelp had great reviews, so I thought no problem and made an appointment. When the car was almost done, the manager (not the person I had been working with) started telling me that the interface that I purchased was not very good and I should have purchased a different interface that cost more and did I want him to change it. I thought this was odd, contradicting his employee after the thing was already installed. Anyway, I kept what I had originally purchased and left. A couple of days later, I noticed a bunch of scratch marks on the dash below the radio bezel. This was right below the area that they worked on. I immediately took the car back in and the manager gave me every excuse in the book for why they couldn't have made the scratches. They were old scratches, there were too many of them, they were in the wrong place, etc. He was very rude and impossible to talk to. I then talked to the owner who was much nicer until he ended the conversation by saying that, this was a work car and would get scratched up a lot and in a few months, I wouldn't care. I couldn't "prove" that they made the scratches and they offered no help to me, so I left. So, if you don't care about how your car looks after they get through with it or are willing to take a chance on them scratching up your car and then denying it, go right ahead and use them. I was interested in installing a rear-view backup camera on my very special ride - a Dinan tuned 5 series, E60 BMW, with only 14,000 original miles on the clock. I called my dealership, BMW of San Franciscco (Cedric Tong, my long-time service advisor, now retired), regarding this and he had recommended I touch base with Audio Sympthony (A.S.) for both sales and professional installation. Good thing I heeded my dealership's advice. Was fortunate enough to touch base with Hatch Archouniani of A.S. After providing him detailed info about my ride, Hatch advised me that a custom install was indeed possible. He expertly recommended all the necessary parts, integrated module and hi-def, wide angle camera, etc., I required to make it all happen. Throughout my interactions, Hatch was very customer oriented, extremely knowledgeable, and patiently answered all my questions regarding both the equipment and install process. After the custom parts came in, Hatch immediately notified me to schedule an install date. Dropped off the car in the AM and everything was all done by 3:30PM. This included full testing, a very CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL installation, and even a tutorial session for me around the new equipment, as well as again, taking the time to answer all my questions after install. Props and praise are also extended to Hatch's professional installer, Eddie, who did nothing less than a professional, careful and VERY CLEAN installation, while being very respectful of the owner's vehicle and property. In summary, Audio Symphony delivered in spades. Five-Stars. As good as it gets, yes!! I'm quite pleased with the overall purchasing and installing experience. So, if you're looking for a FIRST-RATE organization who truly understands the technical side of this business, while also treating and valuing their customers and clients to the highest order, A.S. should be TOPS on your list for consideration. The Bluetooth in my car was erratic, sometimes working, sometimes not. The way drivers are distracted these days, I thought it was a matter of time before I was distracted myself trying to put the phone on speaker, and blam! Thousands of dollars in car repairs, and possibly worse.... I asked a friend who did his sound system for his car and he sent me to Hatch. I originally went in for just a Bluetooth replacement, but Hatch showed me other options like getting a video screen for my 2008 Honda Civic which would allow me to see the map instead of squinting to follow it on the phone, all manner of audio features and other helpful features like a back-up camera, always so helpful parking challenged San Francisco. Of course it cost more, much more than I planned on spending. Guess what? It was worth every penny! I only wish I had done this upgrade much sooner. These guys did a great job for me and were super helpful. I recently got a used car and wanted to upgrade the headunit. I went to Best Buy thinking it would be easy. Big mistake. They wired it all wrong and it made a loud static noise. The speakers were blasting and practically ready to blow our at a olvide of 4 or 5. These guys fixed it in a few hours for an affordable price, during covid which was real cool. This is a very reputable company that stands 100% with its products and goes the extra mile. We had just invested in a new stereo system before a 6 mos VW Van road trip. Two weeks into it, the Panasonic CD player stopped reading our discs-- and we were 1000 miles from the shop! Our sales representative went above and beyond to get us back in music. He ordered a new CD player from Panasonic, shipped it himself to an installer in Canada, we spent an hour at that installer, and we are back on the road with ! How disappointing. I've been a audiophile for over 14 years, and I understand shady characters, (the upselling, the overpricing to make you feel like he's going to cut you a deal, etc) but I've never come across someone as condescending as Hatch. Once my audio equipment came in, he told me that all my equipment was low end and he could have gotten me better prices than what I got online. In what world is Morel, Hertz, Zapco, and McIntosh low end? Go in there and pretend you don't know anything about anything, and watch as he tries to pull the wool over your eyes... twice (I went back on 2 separate occasions because I really wanted to use them). Upset that I went elsewhere to get my audio equipment, Hatch price gouged me at every opportunity for the installation. I'm not going to get into their equipment pricing because I understand they have a physical store in a prime location; it's not easy to keep up with internet pricing. I knew they were going to be a bit more expensive, but it was because of Chris that I wanted to get the installation done there, and I had no problem paying for quality. so let the price gouging begin... How so? Let me count the ways: 1. 250 to install front components 2. 250 to install rear components 3. 200 + 50 for a harness to install the back up camera 4. "You don't just have any type of car (well, actually I do, Hatch), and i have to take a look at these amps but it will cost 250 in amp accessories, and another 650 to install 2 amplifiers." So with tax, ~$1,000 to install 2 amplifiers? Breaking it down... to install a head unit, 2 components, 2 amps, a sub, and a back up camera (again, i must clarify that i have ALL the equipment and the only hardware I would need are the cabling and dynomat), over 2,300 dollars including a bunch of random charges. There was no fabrication work needed. No custom boxes. No custom amp racks. Chris on the other hand is a gem and an absolute straight shooter. In no uncertain terms is Chris worth 5 full stars. It was because of him that I purchased the 10" Alpine Type R and enclosure for 2x what it costs online. A good faith gesture for trying to work with me. He even called back to see if I could come back in and possibly hammer things out. Location was ultra convenient for me. Bummer. Ok. /rant. read more

My iPod adapter had given out after 4 yrs & the place where I originally got it installed must have changed hands b/c they weren't helpful AT ALL in reordering......my dealership then recommended Audio Symphony We talked over options & there was no sales pressure at all. I really appreciated just getting the facts & their assurance that whatever I wanted to do would be great w/ them & they would work w/ whatever made me happy So after thinking I'd have to order the exact same part that just broke & that part would be just as expensive as a new stereo, I decided to get a new stereo installed. Installation took 2 hrs & they showed me the basic features of the stereo - but as I'm driving around, I noticed an abundance of sound coming from the front speakers but nothing out of the back & I was used to a surround-soundy effect After talking w/ them about it, they were so awesome - turns out my rear speakers weren't picking up on the sound like I was used to. They connected both stereos for me to hear the difference & I eventually had to admit I preferred my old stereo better So they swapped it back w/ NO HASSLE & even went so far to explain things so *I* would feel better ( b/c I was feeling totally guilty I didn't like the new stereo )...not even focusing on the fact they lost the new stereo sale I got the adapter ordered & installed & now I have my happy surround-sound ( plus the part has been modified so it's better ) I'm coming here for ALL future sound work & will recommend them to everyone I can! Hedy and Farzin just completed a major project at our house and having worked with dozens of AV folks in the past, I can say they are the *BEST*. three things stand out: -perfection: they get it right the first time, making what is usually a 3 mos debugging nightmare into a day-1 positive experience -they listen: when I asked for a number of random things, like a TV they don't carry, and the Squeezebox Duet, they never pushed back, just got the models and made it work -reasonable pricing/costs: instead of feeling like you are being upsold and made to feel poor when you don't go for the absurd components, they find what works best and don't overshoot. a rare trait of character. Professional full-service auto stereo store. Easy parking, fast service. They're friendly and honest. Did minor repairs for free, never tried to upsell expensive stuff when I didn't want it, etc. Thanks to the cheapskates at Honda and the ever-busy crackhead thieves in town I've been here a few times for stereo installation. Only the basic stuff -- an entry level radio/CD. For any low to mid-range car that will make an enormous difference over the factory sound, and it's surprisingly affordable (under $400, including installation, parts, and an iPod port). If you've got fancy wheels they have an upstairs area and higher end listening rooms. They also sell alarms, flat panel TVs, cell phones, outdoor speakers that look like rocks, and just about anything else they can get their hands on. They're busy so you need an appointment and/or you have to wait. But there's a comfortable waiting room and there's always a risque hollywood film playing on the big screen flat panel TVs they're peddling. Who could want more than that? I took in my 8-year-old Mercedes SLK due to the new handsfree cellphone laws in CA and I also wanted to put in an integrated iPod hook up. The car already had the handsfree option when I purchased it, but was no longer compatible with today's cellphones. Although I went to their location with my husband, I was still shocked that I wasn't pushed into buying more than the car needed. It only required a new head unit, and although I did lose the 6-disc CD changer in the trunk, it was pretty obsolete anyway due to installing the iPod hook up. The work was done quickly, professionally, and neatly. I worked with Hatch, who knows his stuff and isn't interested in selling you a bunch of stuff you don't need. I walked out with a better sounding stereo and I spent a lot less than I would have thought was necessary. These guys are truly a class act. read more

I just bought a new (to me) Camry and wanted to add Sirius Radio. Since Toyota's are XM ready, but not Sirius ready, there's an special extra part that you need that's been discontinued. Not only did these guys have it in stock, but they were able to see me and install it right away. They called when it was ready, were very polite, very knowledgeable - they clearly know their stuff - and Hatch even took the time to show me how all the control worked and all that. SUPER NICE. And then, about 10 minutes later, I got a call that I'd left my Credit Card behind, i swung back and he came out to hand it to me so I didn't even have to get out of my car! My roomate and i both like these guys - You get high quality selection and experience but at a good price. For high end, often better deal than best buy and good guys (more professional, more knowledgable, more selection) but not as cheap. However, you get what you pay for. My roomate had these guys fix what many other shops could not, for me, they simply had what i was looking for at a reasonable price. When discussing options, Hatch was not pushy like some salesman can be, offered a slight price break since i was buying so much stuff. They specialize in cars, middle to high-end car audio/video, car alarms, etc, but they also have stuff for the home - higher end stereo and tv's, water fountains, etc. Also, you can park in their garage when you stop by. These guys are great - professional, prompt, honest and appropriately priced. Total cost was around $350. They installed a car stereo and speakers for me in about 4 hours. I was able to walk to Union Square to get my Xmas shopping done while I waited so that wasn't a big deal. The install was perfect, they trained me on the new features of the stereo and showed me how to work my remote. They had to drill holes in my door to install the speakers and it looks 100% professional - no loose wires or sloppy cuts. They have a cool living room setup upstairs to demo in-home audio installs. Second, they are very flexible with appointments and go out of their way to accomodate my schedule, even if I arrive late. Third, and most importantly, they are honest and stand by their work. I had to return after my ipod connection stopped working and they repaired it for free, no questions asked. Hatch is extremely pleasant and knowledgable about the equipment and services he sells. Hatch, Hedi and team are great. I brought my new Audi to them since I wasn't 100% happy with the audio quality (lack of bass and depth, which I find is common in german cars). Both Hatch and Hedi listened and did a spectrum analysis and developed a custom solution involving an Alpine amp and an external EQ unit. We discussed installing a subwoofer but I didn't want to make any visible modification to the car, so we went with the stock free air subwoofer. The cost was reasonable, although they aren't the cheapest installers in the city, they seemed to have a higher level of professionalism than the 2 other shops I spoke with. Once they finished the work and I took a listen, the sound was amazing. They managed to get the most out of the stock speaker system, but the sound was dramatically better. They even left a gift bottle of wine in the car for when I drove it off - great guys and great service. read more
