Got to Love Yelp!! We had just spent 2 days in Disneyland and it was time to head home. Breakfast is one of our favorite meals to try new places and Yelp is the way to find them. I am so glad we pick this establishment!!!! First off it is a small place and their sign states that parties larger than 6 might have a hard time sitting together. When we arrived there were only a couple of people in there and on after they filled up. To tell you how good this place is local law enforcement came in for a bite as well. We started our order off with a Mexican coffee which I had never had and now it's one of my favorites!!! So much so, I find out how they make it. It was nice and hot a little sweet and had a great flavor of cinnamon. It was absolutely delicious. Being our first visit I had to get the recommendation from the sever which was super friendly and real helpful in making our decisions. I went with the chilaquiles with the green sauce instead of the red. He said the red was pretty hot. I also added asada as well. The homemade tortilla chips where super fresh and crisp. I order the eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. The asada was awesome as well. A large portion,super tender and had a great flavor. This also came with choice of potatoes and toast. All in all this was one of the best we have been too. We will be making several trips to Disneyland and will definitely be back to try more of their creations. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Atticus Cafe yet considering how many times we've been here (5+). We found Atticus spontaneously on the search for chilaquiles cuz that's his all time favorite brunch dish. Don't get me wrong, I like chilaquiles as much as the next person, but this guy.. he could eat it for breakfast, lunch & dinner if he could. Needless to say, the chilaquiles here are right at the top of our list. Love that you can choose between the red and green sauce and can add chorizo, chicken, or steak. We prefer the green, red is a little too spicy We've tried chorizo and steak and both were amazingly delicious. Steak was soo tender and flavorful and chorizo has a slight, super enjoyable kick. I've also had the breakfast sandwich and it was also super tasty! Also the cafe de olla is the best we've had to date.. other places have a mild cinnamon taste but here, you can really taste the cinnamon, and it feels like Christmas morning. Love, love, love Atticus! But I wish it was a slightly better kept secret cuz the waitlist gets longer and longer each time we come. Found this spot to grab breakfast. It's located in a small shopping area. We arrived went inside, we were told to go back out and put our name on the list. It seemed off because there was nobody waiting and open tables. But we did as requested. After a few minutes we were taken in to be seated at the 1st table next to where we entered. We ordered 1 cocoa, and water. We ordered the chilaquiles and the chorizo plate and a side of crispy bacon. Food came out shortly and it was good flavor bacon was just as ordered. The chilaquiles were a bit too saucey,, but I did like the crispy chips. It has cute table holiday decor and candles and t-shirts for sale. It's not your normal menu but good choices. But one suggestion is to take care of customers and don't send them out to write down their name if it isn't busy. Their really isn't much point to that. read more

My husband and I this morning were looking for a breakfast spot . We found this little gem. Let me tell you about the food the service and the ambiance. First the service was on point! Prior to heading back to LA, we were looking for a nearby breakfast spot and Yelp lead us to Atticus Cafe. We arrived at an older shopping mall and walked up to the restaurant. There is no outdoor seating, but we got a table right next to the door. On a Wednesday morning, there were a few other occupied tables. Mostly retirees enjoying themselves. We were promptly handed menus and perused the menu. We ended up ordering an orange juice, chilaquiles (con salsa verde), and wet breakfast burrito. Overall, I was very pleased with the chilaquiles. The home-fried tortillas packed a delicious crunch and the salsa verde was tasty and nicely acidic. They also brought a squeeze bottle of red salsa and it was so good together. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The portion wasn't the largest; however, the generous toppings made up for it. I left the meal feeling satisfied and not overly full, which is great! My partner enjoyed the burrito and shared a bite with me. While I left just full enough, they were much more full given the generous portion. Their only comment was that they wished there was more salsa verde. They ended up using the salsa verde I didn't eat from my chilaquiles. I thought this worked out well--nothing was wasted. When honestly I would have been better off at a dennys. The restaurant was small and homey, which was fine but the service was much too slow. In my experience working with chefs, I think she carried herself too highly and needs to be more humble. She was snappy and I don't think she knows when she needs help. The service was good, but because of the chef I felt like they never asked on the quality of the food. I had the steak and eggs, the steak was tough and under seasoned. I made a comment on how it wasn't good and I couldn't eat it and the servers just took it back without a word. I was excited to try this restaurant due to high Yelp ratings but I left very disappointed. The regular coffee was watered down. The popular mexican coffee was too sweet with strong cinamin taste. The pancakes were the worst I've ever seen or tasted - black grease and dirt was on it, very gross, they need to clean better. Bacon was more like half a slice each and half super burnt. 1 scramble egg has the size of a tablespoon. My husband is vegan and when he ate his vegan burrito, he realized it was not vegan but regular meat. Overall, the food was so bad, my son had one bite and left the rest untouched. Wow. This is a hidden gem in Anaheim, about 10 minutes from Disneyland. We were looking for a breakfast spot on the way home and happened across Atticus. The chilaquiles are the star of the show with delicious sauces and chips that stay crispy to the last bite. I added steak to mine, and it was tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. We also loved the cafe de olla, the cold brew, the pancakes and French toast--everything was amazing. If we lived closer, we'd be here very often. Really good food, but with a really long wait. When we checked in and added our name to the wait list, we were told 20 - 25 minutes. By the time we were called to our table, we'd been standing outside for almost 50 minutes, and then when we were seated, the hostess told us that it'd be an even longer wait, as they didn't want to overwhelm the kitchen. Uhm? Sweet, but really? The kitchen, in this instance, consisted of two women cutting, chopping and sauteeing their way through orders for the entire restaurant. Granted, the restaurant isn't that big, but it was brunch on a Sunday, and they were super busy. At any rate, while we were waiting for our waitress to come back with the okay to order, we got two orders of their Cafe De Olla ($4). When we were given the order go-ahead, I went with the Scramble Combo ($12) with cotija cheese, sauteed onions and soyrizo (plus $1), plus the side of pancakes. My husband ordered the Green Durango Chilaquiles ($10.50) with steak (plus $5). Once our order was placed, the food came out pretty quickly. I loved the scramble - they were generous with the cotija cheese and the soyrizo, and the flavors worked really well together. I was surprised by how much I loved the two pancakes that came with it, as well. I'm not typically a pancake girl, but it sounded good to me that morning. I'm glad I went with those, and not toast - the pancakes were light and fluffy in the middle, which I prefer. The fact that they weren't dense meant they didn't instantly soak up the syrup, which meant the cakes were light and delicious from start to finish. My husband really enjoyed thie chilaquiles as well, though he did say that the green sauce was spicier than he'd anticipated. To be fair, our waitress did tell him that the green sauce was on the spicier side, but my husband just never believes that anything will be spicy enough for him. They were generous with the steak and cheese on his plate, as well, and though it was a veritable mound of food, he made short work of it. We did end up spending over two hours there, from the time we checked in to the time we pushed away to leave. It wasn't exactly the fastest pre-drive to San Diego brunch we've ever experienced, but it was one of the tastiest. And, they gave free (and frequent) refills of the Cafe De Olla, which wreaked havoc with my bladder on the drive home, haha. read more

Besides the condescending service, the food wasn't good. The chilaquiles sauce seemed watered down, my steak was so salty I couldn't eat it and swapped plates with my husband. He didn't enjoy it at all either unfortunately but we got there really hungry so we just tried to make the most of it. As a group of 3 and a baby, the kicker was getting charged 20% for having an infant (8 month old) with us. If the food was at least decent and service was as good, we could overlook the experience because we tend to just let things go but this was a disappointment. It's also VANILLA Greek yogurt which I was super happy with. Fruits are fresh, and the granola is scrumptious. I'm just not a fan of the raisins, but it's easy to eat around.
