Absolutely the best. Not only is your dog safe at Atlas due to their protocols for doing all they can to keep water and floors clean - but they play with the dogs, have beds for the dogs, work on behavior with the dogs and your dog doesn't smell at the end of the day. These are the nicest humans I have met and we love the Bethesda facility. They lowered the prices and are more than reasonable with half days and lower rates on Mon/Fri. The other thing is boarding - they have a HUMAN spend the night and they often sleep with the dogs and def give them their pick of beds and blankets. Atlas is a home away from home.

After a day of playing at "school" aka Atlas DogHouse

This post is overdue. As many did, I adopted a puppy during the pandemic to have as a sibling for my 12-year-old dog, Rex. Little did I know what a ball of energy I was adopting. At first, I struggled to find a groove between both the dog's needs and wants. I am so thankful for finding Atlas Doghouse. Zazu looooooves going to Atlas Doghouse. He loves playing all day with the friends that he has made. In fact, in the morning he will sit by where the leashes are hung to let me know he is ready for "school". :) Stephanie rocks! She always provides me with a wonderful report of the day. Her big smile just has us coming back. You know that she is very attentive and understands what is happening with your dog. Nicolle welcomes you every morning with a warm greeting. Zazu runs to her with his tail wagging ready to get into the mix of dogs on the other side. This is a full-service operation. Danny, the owner, also provided some well-needed training for I shattered my leg tripping on a DC sidewalk 2 years ago and needed some confidence building for both Zazu and myself. Zazu is the strongest dog I have owned. His knowledge and unique ability to understand dog's behaviors were incredibly valuable for us. I can't recommend this place enough. It is nice to be part of this wonderful "dog pack".

Hello, What is the dog boarding price? I have a 4 yr old wheaten. Need boarding this weekend

Hello Brian! Boarding is $65 per night. On the last day, if you pick up before noon there is no additional charge. If you pick up after noon, there is a $45 daycare fee. Currently, our facility is at capacity, and we are not accepting new clients.… Read more

Brandi & Perry were amazing! Highly recommend working with them…read more We adopted a one year old mixed breed, Tuck, a few months ago. He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!

From the very first interaction, Kenny and Sarah were professional, warm, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took the time to understand the pain points that we were experiencing with our new puppy, Theo's personality and tailored their approach to fit him perfectly. I was overseas on vacation, but they shared the progress and transformation pictures and updates every day. Theo is more confident, focused, and responsive than ever. What really impressed me with Ridgeside K9 apart is the care and dedication that Kenny and Sarah brought to the 3-week transformation and the dedicated work with him. It was easy to tell this isn't just a job for them -- they truly love working with dogs and it shows in the results. Theo came home happy, well-behaved, and I could tell during the 2 hour turnover session that Theo had clearly bonded with his trainers. If you're in the Winchester and surrounding area and looking for exceptional dog training, look no further than Ridgeside K9. Ask for Kenny and Sarah -- you and your pup won't be disappointed!

(See pictures of text exchange). Charlotte keeps what I would consider very non-standard hours (AM visits to our home range from 10a on the early side to after Noon at times). PM visits were nearly always after 10p (often times near or after midnight), and per the video our security cameras would capture, mostly consisted of her turning on our TV and sitting on our couch after feeding our cats. Twice in two years I had to text her to come on our first day of being gone as she wrote the wrong dates down in her schedule. But, overall, the cats survived (they're cats, after all), so we put up with all of these oddities instead of finding someone new. Apparently my request to her to not turn off external light switches (which was clarified and confirmed over the phone with her to obviously only mean external lights) after her doing so led to an entire freezer of food spoiling in our garage was just too much(?). To top it all off, she ended the conversation with a catty (see what I did there?) comment of "good luck finding a cat sitter for Christmas," as if she wasn't aware that this is a booming business line in DC with many qualified professionals. Like I said, what a strange journey, indeed.

Thought I'd provide a warning for any owners of pets with notable health conditions, like my pom…read morewith severe tracheal collapse. I brought Oliver in today for an evaluation. He had never been to a daycare facility before, at least not since we adopted him. I had my doubts as to whether he would gel with the experience. He's very difficult with people he doesn't know, but generally does alright at dog parks and is fine with professionals like vets and groomers, so I figured with another set of professionals he may be alright after all. And to be completely fair, he WAS difficult. They told me had to be wrapped in a towel for anyone to approach him to remove his leash and took a couple hours to actually socialize with any dogs. This guy has to go in for grooms and vet tech appointments monthly where his leash has to come off and while I have no illusions about him being a difficult dog, he is, this is the first I've honestly ever heard that removing his leash was an issue at all. Considering what followed with his return, and that this is a thing that's never come up before, it's left me wondering how much of it was truly Oliver and how much of it was the staff. When he came back to me he was squirrelly and jumping around with a very thick gauge rope around his neck. As he has severe tracheal collapse, this is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable, as anything that pulls at his neck can exacerbate his condition, or worse, completely cave in his trachea, killing him. The staff member that brought him out admitted she was new here but said that nobody from the AM shift said anything about his severe tracheal collapse, nor was she aware of it being noted in his online profile (it's absolutely a thing I made a note of, along with his medicinal schedule to treat him for this disease). She informed me that he would not be a good fit for their facility. Fair enough. An evaluation is exactly that, and if he doesn't gel I'm not obligated to their services. If that's all it was, I wouldn't be here writing a review. Instead I wanted to offer a warning for any pet owners that may have a dog with severe medical issues or concerns to consider going elsewhere where staff may be more sensitive and attentive and not outright dangerously negligent. That he's not a good fit for Playful Pack, I say the feeling is mutual.
