Danny is awesome. We worked with him for 18 months until we moved out of the area. Our dog was walked at least twice a week, was sometimes boarded at Danny's house for weekends or vacations away, and we even added dog daycare for a bit before we left. Our dog LOVES Danny and took to him right away. We had 3 different dog walkers during our relationship and Danny always made sure we met the people and that we and our dog were comfortable. All three had different styles and strengths they brought to the table. He has always been extremely professional, reliable and trustworthy (he has my housekeys) and on more than one occasion has stepped in at short (sometimes very short) notice to save the day. I am happy to recommend Danny. He's been walking my dog since November 2008. I feel confident that Danny comes and goes at approximately the same, agreed-upon time each day. (There have been times when I've worked from home and Danny shows up as I'd expect.) My high-energy Vizsla requires sufficient exercise daily. I usually take him to the dog park in the evening, but Danny has also been really helpful with this, sometimes taking my dog to the dog park during the day to let them run and play for extended time. I have given Danny special requests on occasion and he's always accommodating. I have also texted him in the middle of the day at times to ask if he can make a second visit that day (because of unexpected work obligations) and he's been able to help. Danny boards my dog when I'm out of town, as well. I went to Danny's house the first time to check it out and to meet his wife and pets. I feel comfortable that my dog is in good hands and having a good time when I'm away. Danny has gone beyond just boarding by sending a text or email while I'm away to say that things are going well, and sharing pictures of the boarded dogs running and playing in his back yard. When I was looking for a dog walker, the one my friend suggested wasn't able to walk my dog at the time of day I requested. That dog walker put me in touch with Danny. We have been happy customers of Danny's for almost two years. We have used his business for a variety of our pet care needs - cat sitting visits to our house, daily walks for our dog, and dog boarding. I found Danny through a rescue situation. I already had a good reliable dog walker, so I have only been able to use him for boarding, but I would be happy to recommend him for walking too. My two pugs LOVE Danny--they go ballistic when they realize they are going to what we call "Danny's dog heaven." I am especially grateful t him for the extra care he takes with them in the heat (which pugs can't handle) -- we lost another pug at a commercial kennel, when she came came home with a lung infection. Danny is always extremely accommodating (I travel 3-4 times per year for 1 to 2 weeks at a time) and he always tries to work around my schedule. I don't have to worry about bringing my dog to his house -- he picks him up from my apartment on the day I leave and drops him off when I am back. Was a great customer of dannys then moved out of the area about 2 years ago. I returned to Brookland and look him up I get no response and no answer which I thought strange but I gave it some time. Fast forward to the following week. Im starting a new job and so is my partner so we are desperate to find a walker and I happen to run into my old walker at the train station he tells me he is free but has his own company now so I say great we set everything up and my dogs are in great hands. But still curious I ask him why he left Danny. He tells me while he loved the dogs but Danny is not the person people thinks he is. He often leaves one of his part time workers in charge when out of town? Shorts checks and changes walkers schedules without notice and makes uncomfortable jokes about his same sex customers so he left. Danny still will not return my calls? I really am shocked. read more
