I cannot say enough good things about Megan and her business! Talita has watched our cat twice now and both times she has been attentive and caring to our cat! He needs pills and eye drops and has a prescription diet, she has handled it all seamlessly! Our cat usually takes a while to warm up to strangers, but he absolutely loves Talita and waits at the door for her (which he usually only does for us). We have peace of mind when we're away knowing he's in such good hands. Megan, the owner, is also great to work with -- she is flexible, communicative, and sets reasonable prices! We used Fairy Tails DC Dog Walking and Pet Sitting to tend to our three large grumpy furballs over the holidays. This was our first time sitting with them. They delivered stellar service that was professional and reliable from the get-go. Megan smoothly took care of the initial paperwork and scheduling a meet and greet with Will. Will is truly a sitter extraordinaire. He was mindful of small details and took care of the babies with genuine warmth and love. We came back from the trip to find the cats had not missed us at all!! That, to us, is the best performance indicator of a sitter. Their visits and texts were always on time. We had to stay an extra day, and when we contacted Fairy Tails they quickly accommodated our requests. We hope we get to use their extraordinary service in the future. We have been a three cat household for over a decade. We have had several sitters, some good, some OK and two terrible ones. The walker's for Fairy Tails are amazing! My 12 yo French Bulldog is very, very attached to me (COVID has made it worse!) but every day, between noon and 1 she wakes up and runs for the door for her daily walk! She always walks with other dogs at my request and normally they walk for more than her allotted time. She always comes back happy and, more importantly tired. This is the team you want taking care of your loved furry one! I have been a client for only two weeks and blown away by how wonderful they've been at helping my frightened rescue adapt to being a happy, loved doggo. Megan, Cecily, and Rit really communicate well with animals and have a Mary Poppins-esque quality. I use them for daily walks, and in-home sleepovers. "Uncle Rit" is amazing with overnight stay - the multiple updates and photos are so entertaining. Every time I come home, my doggo is happy and sometimes has a new trick to showoff that his Uncle Rit trained him to do! Beyond just excellent care for furry family, I feel comfortable leaving my home open to them, which is a big deal. I reached out to Fairy Tails to cat sit based on their excellent Yelp reviews and I can confirm that all of the fantastic comments are true. Megan is organized, caring, sweet, runs a excellent business, and most importantly, is amazing with animals. I am so glad she was able to take care of my cat. Meow Meow (our old kitty) has several health issues, including kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. This requires her to be pilled twice daily and have her litter box cleaned often because she pees a lot. When I first reached out to Megan, she was incredibly professional and confirmed that she was available on the dates that I needed a sitter for. Before the actual sitting, we arranged for a time for her to do a meet and greet. Megan understood the extensive directions I gave her with ease, and Meow Meow warmed up to her very quickly. During the actual sitting, Megan sent me updates each time she went over with photos/videos of my cat. Meow Meow was such a ham and "smiling" in all the photos--she looked like she was having a dandy time--not even missing us one bit. It warmed my heart that she was in such good hands :) When we came back, the food dish was full, the water was fresh, and the litter box was clean. Megan even brought in our paper! Also, Megan even texted us the next day to make sure that we made it home in time and offered to cat sit more if our flight had been delayed (thankfully, we avoided any hurricane delays). They've been walking our dog Shelby for around 4 years now - literally since Megan opened up her shop with just a few puppies in our old apartment building. We've since moved out to H Street NE and are glad that Fairy Tails was able to move with us. Our primary dog walker, Rit, is simply the best. Shelby, our dog, is always eager to see Rit and do her daily "pee-mail" check around the neighborhood. He always goes out of his way to make sure Shelby is happy and that we know anything that comes up with her on the walk from keeping her from eating any food she might find along the way to making sure her paws are cleaned up after during the salty winter. Rit also goes the extra mile to just make our lives easier - bringing up any boxes sitting by the front door (with newborn twins there's been a lot of Amazon boxes lately) and taking lots of photos of Shelby while they are out and about. Amazing. Seriously, if you're reading reviews for Fairy Tails, you've stumbled into the most caring, professional, and hardworking team in D.C. We've been the lucky humans to several pups over the last 18 years and, after relocating to D.C. in 2019, adopted a dog from Puerto Rico who'd lost her family and been shuffled from shelter to rescue. When Megan met us for an in-home consult, Hazel was still adjusting to city life and was very much in her shell. Fast forward to the end of 2020: Hazel is not only acclimated to neighborhood treks and dog park visits, but she's had at-home sleepovers (was not at all concerned about our whereabouts) and is part of the sweetest pack of pups led by Will, walker extraordinaire. Daily photo updates, frequent extra long walks, and a tired, happy pup are a gift, especially this year. Fairy Tails is a great dog walking company. Megan is an awesome business owner that is always trying to streamline the payment process as well as scheduling walks. Our English Bulldog, Andy, is a tad hard headed and was a little apprehensive with new walkers after we moved to the D.C. area. But Will, one of the main walkers for Avalon 1st and M, was awesome with her. He tried a bunch of different methods in gaining her trust, spent a lot time just trying to win her over, and his hard work paid off, as she loves him now and every time we see Will outside of Andy's normally scheduled walks she gets so excited. It's with a melancholic heart that i write this review at 35,000ft as i fly to my new home in Seattle, Washington. I've relied on Fairy Tails for taking care of my cat Jessie for at least the past 2 years. They were referred by a friend who turned out to have pretty good judgement : ) They have never NOT been able to accommodate me even with my sometimes last minute requests. Recently, Rit has been doing most of the baby sitting and he's been amazing. Every time i leave, i know that i can count on the email updates along with photos first thing in the morning. If my cats could talk: There were so many times during our recent trip that we expressed thanks that we found and chose Megan to come to our home and care for our cats. She was thorough, kind and thoughtful. One of the two cats is older and has the onset of kidney disease. Megan had to medicate him daily, without any complaints or problems. Midnite actually looks better since I left. She sent us regular reports by email, with pics. (One night I showed them around a Rome trattoria.) Further, I live in an "emerging" neighborhood and was worried about leaving for an extended period of time for the first time. This was a hard decision because it involves trust, and actually turned another firm away. So happy to have found Megan. You will be too, and more importantly so will your furry ones. read more

She is extraordinarily thorough and caring towards both her two and four-legged clients, and is always thinking about what's in the best interest for the pet. (For example--she remembers my dog is often outside in our backyard, and will rush over if it looks like rain so he's not caught out back!)
