My boy, Charlie, has been part of the Adventure crew for almost 5 years! He loves it!. When I first adopted Charlie he was very reactive & need a lot more physical stimulation. DC Dog Sitters have worked with his leash manners & prey drive. He is such a happier more confident pup now! He knows what days are Adventure days & waits for his people to pick him up. They communicate well, they give a heads up when they are on their way for pick up & drop-off. Its very easy to make schedule changes in the app. You can tell they love what they do. read more

I was in DC on business and had my Frenchie with me. Normally, I can leave our DC office to run and check-in on my dog as needed. However, this time I was part of a very important and lengthy presentation, and had to be onsite for several hours. My dog has osteoarthritis so regular daycare was not an option; and I was nervous about leaving my dog alone for several hours in the hotel knowing I wouldn't be able to leave in case of emergency (even though they are dog friendly). The hotel recommended DC Dog Sitter and they were amazing. I was contacted very quickly, was able to upload my dog's vax records, and get a confirmed dog sitter in less than 24 hours. My sitter was Fredy and he showed up exactly on time, kept me updated during the stay, and sent photos. I've never used a service like this before, but if you're in DC and need in-hotel dog sitting, I recommend this company. read more

Our dogs, Okra and Crouton, have been adventure clients of DCDS for 5 years. We absolutely adore DCDS and all they do to keep our pups happy and healthy! Everyone at DCDS is very communicative and I trust all of them completely. We have loved all of the team members who have taken our dogs on adventures, and our dogs are especially fond of their long-term friends Fredy and Gabby. It gives us peace of mind knowing our dogs are in good hands and we really like the reports and photos we get after each adventure. Thank you, DCDS, for taking such great care of our babies! read more

Our pup absolutely loves the DC Dog Sitters crew - so much so that he's been part of the pack for almost 4 years! The Doggie Adventures offer the perfect balance of play and structure for dogs like ours that get overwhelmed in doggy daycare type settings. The staff are kind, supportive, responsive, and professional. Our pup is always a ball of excitement when they come to the door for pick up and he then comes home tired, happy, and well socialized. read more

I have been using DC Dog Sitters for four (4) years and my Vizsla loves them. They give him love and well needed exercise. I can rely on them to come and pick him up and bring him back happy. I love the report cards I get with pictures and information. I have used the for overnights - and even when it is last minute they will do what they can to help out! I strongly recommend them and so does my pop. read more

The guys at DC DOG Sitter, Jack & Zachary, are great. They cared for our 3 dogs plus my daughter's beagle while we stayed at The LINE DC (also a great hotel) in the days surrounding our daughter's wedding. They met the whole pack beforehand, got the low down on each dog including the special needs of one whose age has brought on considerable difficulties with walking. The beagle was scheduled to appear in the wedding at a nature conservancy, but the rules there limited the allowable time to the wedding itself. Jack transported him to and from the venue in accordance with its restrictions and Jack himself was dressed as well as the members of the wedding congregation. Shortly after our return to the hotel we had some really nice pics the guys had taken of our pack during their walks. We highly recommend these guys and their service for all who are picky about whom they entrust the care of their dogs. See https://www.dcdogsitter.com/ read more

This PAwSOME team should be top rated, number 1 on here! What a relief it was to have these guys support my doggies coming home from the airport. Their client service is based on and focus fully on our immediate and most urgent needs. They thought of everything. No detail is too big or too small. From the vehicle to navigation to my babies' comfort, you guys really and truly delivered on your commitment to help us, from initial contact right through to the end. Love your app, the people, just all around genuune care and smiles. You were willing to help when there was no one else and for that, I can only humbly say thank you from the bottom of my heart. read more

We have not used their walking services (yet!). but just our experience of setting up services has stood out. From their first contact, Jenn was immediately responsive and kind, helping us make sense of the area (we are moving to DC) and thinking creatively about meeting our pack's needs. A lot of businesses throw around the term "concierge" but for their team, it's clearly a mindset and passion. We are thrilled to have found them. read more

Our in-hotel pet sitter Katherine was AMAZING. I cannot say enough when it came to taking care of our mini daschound. We had a completely stress-free night on the town. Communication with the company from the start was clear and professional. ABSOLUTELY would recommend DC Pet Sitters!! read more

DC Dog Sitter - Our very happy girl! - Dog Walkers Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

The absolute best Dog Walkers/Sitters/Extraordinaries in DC! They go above and beyond to make sure your pup(s) are well cared for and have a good time. Our Sadie Goose absolutely LOVES her adventures with Fredy. She can't contain herself when she sees him/his car. She's never reacted to us that strongly haha. I think that speaks to the fun, care, and socialization their team/Fredy provides. They are the best! read more

DC Dog Sitter - Dog Walkers Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

DC Dog Sitter was the BEST dog walker I have ever used! I have lived in many large cities with my dog and he has had multiple walkers and day cares but DC Dog Sitter really stood out. I was in DC for 2 weeks and after a quick phone call to discuss my dog's needs for that time period, they were flexible and accommodating with figuring out scheduling as well as payment. I even met one of the dog walkers because we crossed paths on my way home from work and she was SO lovely and my dog clearly loved her. All the walkers left VERY long messages describing the day they had with my dog and always told me when they were on their way, when the visit was starting, and how everything went. They sent a million photos and it was just the best experience ever! I really really appreciate DC Dog Sitter so much and would recommend them to anyone! read more

We want to warn those who may be considering using DC Dog Sitter's walking services about our very negative experience. In short, within the first two weeks of becoming our dog walker, DC Dog Sitter totally forgot to pick up our two dogs for their regularly scheduled walk. We relied on DC Dog Sitter for one thing and one thing only: ensuring that our dogs received a midday bathroom and exercise break while we are at work, and DC Dog Sitter totally failed. We have had many dog walkers over the years for our dogs, and until DC Dog Sitter, not one ever forgot to complete the crucial task of picking up our dogs. DC Dog Sitter's owner, Jenn, characterized completely forgetting our dogs as "a fairly minor mistake." This was insulting and an absolute lie, given that they fired the walker responsible for this huge problem. If your dog walker forgot to walk your dogs would you call it a "fairly minor mistake"? We think the ultimate responsibility for forgetting our walk lies not with the walker who forgot but with DC Dog Sitter owner, Jenn. She clearly has too much on her plate and lacks adequate oversight over her employees, given that hours went by past the time our dogs should have been walked and she didn't realize until we messaged her. It was clear she would not have realized that our dogs hadn't been walked if we had not messaged her. After this huge error, Jenn offered us a "free week" of walks, but we never received this promised free week despite repeated requests. Moreover, after the error, Jenn's communication was unresponsive and very delayed. She never once called us to apologize for the error and limited her communication to messaging, which is not adequate for emergencies. We also asked her for a phone number contact (we only had a messaging app) so we could quickly reach her if a future error happened and despite asking more than once, Jenn never provided a phone number. We had a question about the invoice and it took her 5 days to respond. Jenn repeatedly cited growing pains and medical issues. We are sympathetic to medical issues but this should not come at the expense of the well-being of our dogs. We paid DC Dog Walker over $1300 in the 6 weeks we used their services and in return received nothing but a bad attitude and poor service. read more

QUICK LOOK - Jenn and Team are amazing. I am so grateful Jenn came into our lives. I don't think my dog, Hoagie, would be the same if he didn't have Jenn and the DC DOG SITTER team. She was the only person in northern VA to watch a puppy. She made sure he all the attention he needed, he played with her cat and was able to swim and hang at the dog park several times! After that first visit I knew I found a gem. Once I started my new job working strange hours, her and her team were always able to accommodate me. I love that DC DOG SITTER had several options for my dog whether that be a run, a walk, or a trip to the dog park. One trip to the dog park a week made me feel way better about leaving him at home while I was at work. He would come back so pooped. DC DOG SITTER always provides photos, which put me at ease. I never once worried about allowing the team into my home while I wasn't there. They were more than respectful and would even tidy up or leave a lovely note. They always communicate and keep you in the loop. I recommend DC DOGSITTER to anyone and everyone who love their animal. They set the bar high! Now... my only wish is that they would come to Toronto where I live now..... :) read more

They go above and beyond. Our dog was sick once, and the team did everything to make sure he was okay. They genuinely care and it shows.

We used DC Dog Sitter to take care of our cats while we were gone on vacation for a week. They were great! Very communicative, as they would send messages when they were on their way to our place, and then again after they had been there, providing alot of detail and photos of what they did while they were there. They took great care of our pets, and it gave us great peace of mind as we were away, that our pets were getting attention and well cared for. They followed our instructions to a T, including watering the plants as well as all the cat-related stuff, and they took pictures of the cleaned litter box, their food, and of course our cats during their visit. Very happy with this service in our first time using them. read more

DC dog sitter is a super reliable pet care company that has allowed us to leave our dog at home and ensure three walks per day during several vacations. They feed, administer pills, walk, fill up water and play with our dog on every trip. Also their app is super helpful as it sends photos and updates on your dogs pee and poop situation (pet owners, you know this is important! ) and confirms that the walker fed and provided water to the dog. They also organize fun social events for pets to get to know each other and the sitters. They are also just really professional and thoughtful. Little things like cleaning up the mess where the dogs water splashes on the floor. Independent, female-run business. We love them! read more

A wonderful company! It is very clear when talking to Jenn and her employees that they love and care for the dogs and cats in their care as if they were their own. Definitely the only company in the area that I would trust to watch my fur babies. read more

I cannot recommend DC Dog Sitter enough. From the first meeting, I was impressed by their level of professionalism, and it was immediately evident how much they care for other people's pets. They have always been very communicative--they let me know when they're on their way and when they start each visit. My dog knows the sound of the notification that they are almost to the apartment, and she immediately runs to the front door and starts pawing at it. They send a detailed report after each walk, and my dog always comes back dead tired (and she's a vizsla--this is not easy to do). They have also gone above and beyond for me. There have been several occasions when they have taken my dog out for longer than my scheduled walk or when they've doubled up her walk on a beautiful day. I don't say this to set unrealistic expectations for those reading my review but rather to show that they really do care--this is much more than a transaction. They also worked with my dog on her behavioral issues. They communicated with me when she was acting up, and they helped me rearrange her schedule so she was with a group of dogs that would be a better fit. I've noticed a dramatic improvement in her leash behavior when she is going on consistent walks. Finally, they are incredibly flexible. I have had to cancel walks, reschedule walks, and add walks, and each time, they have responded to my requests in a timely manner. In short, I would recommend DC Dog Sitter to anyone. My vizsla has been going on walks and adventures for over a year now, and I have had nothing but a positive experience. If you are looking for a reliable and professional dog walking service with very transparent pricing, look no further. read more

I worked there this summer, and had a blast doing it. They pay far better than other dog walkers in the area, and provide a far better service too. In my experience, the staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and hardworking. The owner, Jenn, is extremely kind and in my experience always does everything she can to make sure that the animals receive the best care possible. I thoughtfully recommend this service to anyone in the DC area. read more

Jenn and her entire team have been wonderful with our dog. They walk him every day during the week when we are at work and he goes on "adventures" on Thursdays. The adventures often consist of hikes, trips to local parks, and over the Summer lots of swimming. We also use DC Dog Sitter for sitting when we go away. Our dog has some special needs, but DC Dog sitter has been exceptionally accommodating and understanding. They are extremely reliable and I love getting numerous messages/pictures throughout the day on what he is up to. All of the dog walkers have been great and we have not had any issues. Jenn is great about communicating with us and is so knowledgeable about dog health and diet. She has been a great resource for us and has always gone above-and-beyond to answer any of our questions. I know my dog is safe and happy when he is in the care of DC Dog Sitter. I cannot give them higher praise. read more

Febei and her parents are completely satisfied with our D.C. Sitter family! The best in the area!!

When leaving DC for a new job in Boston, one of the harder things to say goodbye to was DCDS. My experience started with DCDS when I soon realized after one week of having my french bulldog puppy, that he would need two walks during day. DCDS was able to add Gus into the mix instantly and it tremendously helped me out. Gus loved all of his dogsitters, and I loved the constant feedback I was getting during his walk (I miss my afternoon G Chat photos). On top of a great walking experience, DCDS has options to add on adventure days which Gus loved, and I knew he was being watched extremely well while swimming/hiking. Even being able to add on spa service was amazing as I was able to come home to a newly cleaned pup. They have exemptional customer service, and truly care for your pets. I highly recommend! read more

Jenn and the team have been amazing with our very large, very energetic rescue dog, Owen (a mastif/collie mix who weighs about 90 lbs). Even before we started using them, Tim and Brandy, who I met at the dog park were so kind and patient with me, a rather nervous new-to-big-dogs parent. We love having access through the app on where they are with him and what they're doing. There was one day that the walker had an emergency, and Owen got walked a bit late, but Jenn was very communicative and she and the walkers made sure to make it up to us (and Owen!). And if you have an energetic dog, the Adventures are the best thing since sliced bread! Owen comes home happy and tired, having gotten to spend lots of time outside with doggie friends. Jenn's also been a great resource for managing his behavior and diet, and Brandy and Emily have been great with him on his leash etiquette! read more

We have the most wonderful Golden Retriever named Souter. He is sweet, smart, fun and, unfortunately, epileptic. Before we found Jenn and DC Dog Sitter, our travel plans hinged on whether we could bring the dog, because I could not find anyone I could trust sufficiently to administer his many medications and deal with his seizures if/when they occur. Since we have found DC Dog Sitters, I no longer have any reservations or concerns in traveling without the dog. In fact, I am quite sure that he prefers going to "camp." They take him on hikes, swimming, park visits, etc. They also regularly send and post photos so we can see the fun he is having. We also receive an email each night with a short recap of what they have done and his overall state of being. My greatest fear in writing this is that they will become too busy to take our Souter when he needs to go to camp, but I received assurance that we are grandfathered with priority access. So, with that guarantee in place, I recommend to you, without reservation, Jenn and the team at DC dog Sitters for the care of your beloved pets. read more

Just coming off of our DCDS experience and I feel compelled to leave this review. As good as it gets is absolutely right -- 5 stars all the way! Jenn and Emma swooped in to take care of our puppy on a fairly last minute request. Not only was DCDS able to watch our pet, they made sure our dog was cared for in a way that allowed us to really relax -- they stayed in our home and updated us with messages, pictures and videos regularly. You may think that it's just pet sitting -- but it's not. DCDS doesn't just ensure safety and comfort they also go well beyond any expectations to socialize your pet, exercise your pet and ensure that you return to a happier animal. Our dog was so disappointed to see DCDS go! We're signing her up for hikes and excursions because she loved the experience so much. If you're looking for a company that will partner with you to make you and your animal comfortable, safe and happy -- you've landed in the right spot. read more

Wow! I can't say enough good things about DC Dog Sitter. They recently looked after my lab, Dinsford, when I was on a business trip. His sitter Emma and the owner Jenn were both absolutely amazing. I could tell that they genuinely cared about Dinsford, and made sure he had a blast while I was away. Lots of updates, including some Instagram tags! :) Even when some of his - ahem - bad manners came out with Emma, she handled it like a total champ. And like Jared H., my dog has epilepsy and needs regular medication - it was such a comfort to know that Emma was on top of that. Definitely worth the money, and I know I'll be using them again next time my work takes me away. (And who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to use their Pet Nanny service!) read more

Best dog walkers in DC! Been using them for 2 years since our dog was a little puppy. Trust all of their walkers and they do their best to accommodate all of our dog sitting needs. Our dog loves the park says and the city adventures. They helped with her socializing at a young age so she's well adjusted to being in large groups. Even likes cats now! They take beautiful pictures and give detailed updates of every walk. Always refill her bowl and give her the right treats. Jenn feels like family. read more

I wish I could leave 10 stars. DCDS is bar none the best dog sitting service out there. What sets Jenn and company apart from everyone else is how much they cater to both you and your pet. Jenn and company are prompt and responsive with communication, and if you are pressed for time will up pick up your pet and drop them off at the beginning and end of each stay. Each member of this group LOVES animals. They cater to any particular pet diets, provide specific home remedies for any pet ailments, and make sure that each stay is a pampered vacation for your pet. However what truly impressed me about Jenn was how she worked with me when a family emergency extended my five-day puppy sitting into five weeks. Jenn fed my baby on her own dime *not charging me*, took my little girl to extra puppy play dates, checked in with me to see how I was handling everything and was thoughtful and compassionate when I was completely stressing out. I can't articulate enough how wonderful everyone was, going so far as to pick me up from the airport and leave me and my Scarlett a little goodie basket when I got home. I've used DCDS several times and don't trust my fur baby with anyone else. If you are looking for a fantastic and loving group of people to take amazing care of your furry one DCDS is it. read more
