Vincenzo is ready to swim with his life vest now
    Margo A.

I switched my French Bulldog over to Dog-ma for boarding after seeing the conditions at Wagtime Too and couldn't be happier. A friend who owns a daycare in Texas suggested I try them as I was reluctant because of the gravel. It's been a month now and Vincenzopuppeh is doing great there, he is learning how to swim with the girls on Saturday so we bought him a vest and already he has friends. We did one over night as well with zero issue. I'd also like to note they were understanding about his allergies and were fine with me leaving him treats so he wasn't left out during treat time. I appreciate the extra effort they make to call when they have a question or to let me know Vincenzo's had so much fun that he's a mud ball and offer to hose him off before I pick him up. He is daycare tired after each visit which is what you want to see, a happy tired pup!

Danielle is friendly and reliable and most of all - she does a great job. We always go with a short cut on our Maltese for ease of maintenance and Danielle's cuts are very consistent. Our dog always looks the same, which is a big positive in my book. Other groomers have delivered inconsistent looks when we simply wanted the same haircut. The convenience of the mobile service is hard to beat too. It's a little more expensive than service at a brick and mortar building, but it's worth it in my opinion. You won't regret going with this business for your furry friend's grooming needs. Highly recommended. ***In the post-grooming photo of my pup, he'd had a recent vet procedure that resulted in a stitch in his forehead and a partially shaved right leg. He was not ready to be picked up until 8:00PM!! The second time, I called the day before to make sure it would not be an 8 hour affair and they assured me it wouldn't be because they now had three groomers on staff. When we showed up the next morning, they told me he wouldn't be ready for pickup because they only had one groomer that day. If you knew you were only going to have one groomer on staff, you should move or cancel some of the appointments. On top of that, my dog's fur was patchy and horrible, including a piece of hair hanging down from his ear lobe about three inches long. How do you miss this?? Luckily I had heard that my building has grooming services. So I looked into it further found their card at the front desk. I emailed them and received a promo reply. I requested a later grooming as I work. I was offered 4pm appointment. When I arrived they were not ready for my dog so I brought her back down in another 45 as they requested. I didn't want to leave her in cage waiting. That's the good thing about having groomer in the building. Many groomers elsewhere same thing happens and you don't have that flexibility. Although I usually call first to make sure they are not running late. The staff was courteous. They started the grooming at 4:45 and it was over by 6:30. The place I had taken her in Virginia didn't do such a great job and the ears were not plucked so she was in dire need of some real grooming. When I arrived to pick her up she was super happy and alert. She looked and smelled wonderful. And even got a bow. It didn't last long on her hair but she looked adorable. I have a shin tzu and the grooming cost $70 before tip. Just to give you an idea. However, it was well worth it. Suggested you email them in advance because they do fill up quickly. When I brought her home and inspected their work the ears were clean and no hair in there. The pads of the feet were trimmed nicely and the size of the cut I think she said was 5 was excellent. Just right for my pup. I will definitely use them again. Highly recommend upscale grooming!!!

After the terrible groom my partner was told to come back for a they would fix it for free. She scheduled the appointment pointing out that she wanted the complimentary service (see photo) and when I picked her up they told me it was roughly $125. I told them I had a free service and they saw that in the system but that's not what they did. I overheard the lady behind the counter whisper that we were willing to pay the difference even though it is their fault . At that point I was unwilling to pay but my partner was at work and had already paid the entire amount online so that I did not have to have any issues. They reached out to the owner and we were assured that she would reach out to us and fix it. My partner reached out to Jodi (the owner) and she did not respond. This was in February and it is now May. I waited to post this in hope that I wouldn't have to because they would make it right. I understand that the groomer needs to be paid because the work was completed but their mistake shouldn't have been my problem. Oh I forgot to mention how we came about the complimentary service. The original cut was HORRENDOUS (see photo) my partner wrote a review about it and they offered us a complimentary bath and tidy to take it down. She agreed and removed the review(shady). Presley's first haircut here was fine, shorter than expected on the face but it grew out nicely. This 2nd time we asked for the exact same length, but his face was left noticeably longer. 2 weeks later, his bangs are already covering his eyes. That alone would not have warranted a review, but what happened afterward absolutely does. Presley was dropped off healthy and alert. When my husband picked him up, staff said everything "went fine." But once home, Presley was unsteady on his back legs and refused food, treats, and water. We called City Dogs immediately, and the information we received was inconsistent. On the first call, we were told his nails hadn't been trimmed. On the second, we were told they had been as part of the full grooming package (would have been fine, we were just trying to understand what could have caused his sudden discomfort). We were also told, for the first time, that Presley "didn't want to stand" and had been "nipping." That alone raised a brow for us. Presley is 12, and in all our years of taking him to vets and groomers, we have only ever been told he is calm and gentle. Even in moments that make most dogs anxious, like rectal exams, he stays still and sweet. Hearing that he was agitated or refusing to stand instantly told us something must have been off that day. It also should have signaled to City Dogs that something was wrong. If a consistently calm dog suddenly becomes uncooperative, that is a sign of distress and should have prompted a call before continuing the grooming. When we finally reached the grooming manager, (also the groomer), the conversation became incredibly frustrating. From the start he was defensive, speaking over us and focusing more on protecting City Dogs' reputation than on helping us understand what might have happened. To be clear, we weren't being accusatory. We weren't blaming anyone or suggesting he intentionally hurt Presley. We were trying to figure out what could have happened in those few hours that might explain why our otherwise active dog suddenly could not walk properly. Instead, he grew irritated, pointing out that we had spoken to two other staff members, (completely out of our control), and repeatedly insisting he "would never hurt a dog, especially a senior dog." We never suggested he would, we just wanted clarity. He interrupted often, dismissed questions, and even claimed we were the ones being defensive. Any pushback on our part came only from asking him to let us speak. It felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than concerned dog parents. When I asked if it was normal not to call an owner when a dog refuses to stand or shows distress, he said it was not uncommon, especially for "older dogs with arthritis." That didn't make sense as Presley has never been diagnosed with arthritis or shown symptoms. At one point, he also claimed we had accused him of giving Presley medicated food, when all my husband asked was whether Presley might have eaten anything while there. The manager ended the call by telling us to monitor Presley for 24 hours and make sure he was drinking water. When my husband explained that Presley was not eating or drinking at all, the manager finally said that was "concerning" and promised a follow-up call the next day. No one has called. Presley's stiffness lessened after the first day, but he continued walking unbalanced for several days afterward. The entire experience was very disappointing. We weren't looking to blame anyone, we were trying to understand what happened and make sure Presley was okay. Instead, we were met with evasion and indifference. Accidents can happen anywhere, but how a business responds afterward defines its integrity. In our case, City Dogs failed to respond with basic care, accountability, or compassion, and that is why Presley will not be returning.
