Great service, friendly staff, reservations HIGHLY recommended. The restaurant isn't huge, but they seemed to handle the flow of traffic with ease. We ordered fish and chips, lightly seasoned, but better than previous restaurants. Warm lobster roll was buttery and delicious, extra butter on the side for those that need more deliciousness. The clam chowder, clams could have been cleaned better, but it did not ruin the evening. Fries came with both meals, they were just ok, but did arrive to the table hot and crispy. Dessert was creme brûlée and man oh man, it was very good and creamy. Not overly sweet and done very well. I enjoyed my dinner and would keep this on my list of restaurants when in Boston. Definitely check this place out, it is located in the busy Back Bay neighborhood and outside seating is available, as well as inside seating with an outside view.
Service was outstanding! However the restaurant was quite warm. I don't know if the ac was broken or maybe it's just a Boston thing, but we were very warm during our meal. I was also surprised how loud it was inside, but it was the two of us seated by two kind of large group groups, which might've just been an unfortunate circumstance. My mother is a little bit hard of hearing and so that was kind of challenging. We both had other meals planned out until we saw the lobster rolls walk by. We both ended up ordering lobster rolls and they did not disappoint. We were very full, but we shared a Boston cream pie, which was also delicious.
This is THE seafood place to have dinner at in Boston. No debate! The 3 $$$ are no joke, but the value is 4 or 5 $$$$$. Initially we weren't going to come here but our Uber driver recommended us switch our reservations from another place to Atlantic Fish. I am so glad we did! Our server Nick, was an absolute rockstar. Knew the menu like he wrote it himself! Starting from the warm, fluffy bread and butter, then to the lobster bisque and clam chowder that we shared, and an absolutely unique haddock with crab and other spices on top (my wife got the swordfish that was also perfect), all was absolutely delicious. He suggested a great red and white wine for both of us to pair with our meals. Tons of wine on the menu, so he was able to expertly scope out something that was available to have in a glass, and pair with our food. The biggest "almost-didn't-happen" food stop for us. Very thankful that we were recommended to come here, because we ate our food so slow to try and savior it and make it last.
Truly wonderful experience overall last night. Went at the early dinner hour, without reservations, party of 2. The host seated us right away, as long as we promised to be out within about an hour due to an upcoming reservation. It was a great, comfortable spot, with spot-on service the entire time from Christopher and others. Our food was served in a timely manner, after ordering some appetizers, a salad and a filet. All were perfectly prepared, although my filet was a slightly beyond medium rare, yet still delicious.
Had the Crab Crusted Haddock and the Halibut first one was good Halibut was expensive and over cooked probably should have asked for a refund that one regarding the price just hate doing that.
Still one of my favorite seafood establishments in Boston!!! I love that they are not a chain. Went there for brunch yesterday and had such a yummy meal. I've never had their brunch before, but it was amazing!!! Their implementation of seafood into OG brunch staples is ingenious. I got the Lobster and Waffles, and my Dad got the Crab Cake Benedict. Both dishes were fantastic!!! Very brunch-y but also very unique. I do with there was a little more lobster included though. The ambience of this place is very classy. I feel like they've recently updated their decor and dishes, and I'm here for it. They are a little pricey, so I, personally, cannot come here regularly. However, when I do, it's always such a delightful treat. This was my first time coming with a child, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the customer service. They really shine in this area, making them standout from other establishments. They didn't treat us with snooty attitudes but accommodated us equally ... even with a stroller and a little child. I truly am grateful!!!
Returned after almost four years--and it was even better than we remembered. The restaurant has an elegant, upscale seafood and steakhouse vibe, and everything felt seamless from the moment we walked in. We arrived early for our 5:30 reservation and were seated right away. Service was outstanding. Roque was attentive, polished, and genuinely five-star throughout the evening. Complimentary warm bread with delicious butter arrived right away--always appreciated. We started with an espresso martini--smooth, well-balanced, and expertly executed, with rich espresso flavor, a subtle touch of sweetness, and a velvety, creamy foam. The roasted beet and goat cheese salad was fresh and nicely dressed, and the Jr. Captain (crispy shrimp, calamari, and haddock) was perfectly prepared. For mains, I had the crab custard haddock with mushrooms on the side--rich, flavorful, and cooked just right. My husband ordered the Faroe Island salmon with mashed potatoes and garlic sticky rice, and everything on his plate was equally well prepared. Every dish was thoughtfully executed--you can truly taste the quality. We left completely satisfied--great food, exceptional service, and a beautiful setting. It's the kind of place that reminds you why you love dining out--we'll definitely be back.
I would say it's best to make a reservation. The decor and ambiance were both nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered The Louie.! Could've eaten two because it was soo good. The food was delicious, came out fast, hot and very well seasoned. They do provide complimentary warm bread before your meal. There is also a nice drink menu. The waitress (Morgan or Megan) was simply amazing! Not only was she helpful, pleasant and warm to me, I watched as she provided the same exceptional hospitality to the other tables close by.
I was going to give this place a 4...but then I rmb how much we paid for our meal. First of all, the staff members and our server were all extremely professional and nice. However, there were literally issues with every single one of our orders. Drinks: Water was lukewarm and our cocktails tasted like juice. Appetizers: We got a dozen oysters to share and one of the oysters was so tiny and tasted NASTY AS HELL. You know a bad oyster when you have one. Mains: Clam chowder portion was TINY for the price. Fish and chips were literally so whatever (nothing impressive)... and the lobster roll tasted raw. Butter mixed with raw lobster...was yucky. Overall, wouldn't recommend coming here... I mean the ambiance is nice and the staff members were all great. But the food was MID at best.
Steakhouse feel but replace meat with seafood. Came here for lunch over the weekend and it was not too loud, but also not empty. The service and food were great. Honestly the butter for the warm bread was delicious. Yes, the entrees and clam chowder were delicious, but I legit think about the butter...
Cam! Cam, you did it. You managed to get me to find the best New England Clam Chowder in Boston. Am I exaggerating? Maybe. Slightly. Without a doubt this side of San Francisco, this clam chowder in a bread bowl may be some of the most hearty and flavorful New England has to offer. It really is something to order. The Maine Lobster Roll is good but unfortunately that is all it is. It is overdone with mayonnaise and other flavors that they seem to have forgotten the lobster is the star. I could not enjoy this roll as much as I would have liked. It is also served with fries, which sticking to my new American principles, only ate five before quitting. My server, Kate, was a pleasure and was knowledgeable about the food. She earns my gold star of the day. I recommend but go easy on the menu please.
i thoroughly enjoyed my first lunch at atlantic fish with polina providing excellent service. she warned me that their bread is addictive, and she was right! i ordered the violet 75 paired with the chilean sea bass & lobster ravioli. the sea bass was so tender and perfectly cooked, the combination of the lobster ravioli and sauce is so unique, you must try it, and thank you for a great recommendation from polina. i visited a second time, sat at the bar for a bit to wait. bartenders were great. when i was seated at a table with a friend, i thought they took a very long time to deliver the food after we ordered, and didn't really check in, at all. i ordered the same chilean sea bass, and it was a smaller portion of fish and didn't taste as good as the first time, not sure if ratios were off on a thursday night. my friend was not happy with their crab cakes which were overdone & overpriced for the meal. it came with corn pudding? they wouldn't even touch it, i tried a bite and i have no idea why that's even an option on the menu. way to ruin a dish, completely. first visit violet 75 10/10 bread service 10/10 chilean sea bass 9.5/10 second visit violet 75 10/10 bread service 10/10 chilean sea bass 7/10 crab cake entree 4/10 corn pudding 0/10 (who did this!?) atlantic fish co. is a hit or miss for great seafood in back bay. i thoroughly enjoyed my first meal here, but when i recommended it to a friend, it left more to be desired the second time around. ambiance: 4.5/5 food: 5/5 first visit, 2.5/5 second visit drinks: 5/5 service: 5/5 with polina, 2/5 second visit atlantic fish co.: 3.7/5

Saturday lunch. I like how this place is proper yet family friendly. I liked seeing the weekend bustle with families large and small (including my own). Ordered: clam chowder, lobster bisque, lobster crab louie, crispy calamari, crab cake benedict, cold lobster roll My favorite item was the clam chowder. My brother liked the lobster crab louie. My parents liked the complimentary bread. Clam chowder is very meaty and flavorful. We didn't want the bread bowl soaking up all the soup so opted for just a cup size. Lobster bisque can be skipped. It's surprisingly lacking in ocean flavor. I find that ironic considering how much lobster they go through here, unless they mostly just stock up on meat. Lobster crab louie. I'm normally wary of seafood salads because of the dressing. The one here is very refreshing especially with their tomato and avocado. My family really liked their presentation of stacking in a round mold and arranging endives around the sides. Crispy calamari. The batter is a bit soggy and thick but flavorwise we liked it. It was fun to get bits of fried pepper and pickles. I like how they have a sock for the lemon to catch falling seeds and reduce juice flying all over the place. I will assume they wash it in between uses. Crab cake benedict was recommended to us by our server. We didn't like the crab cake because it was too dry and salty. The potato and peppers stir fry on the side was more interesting. We asked for added avocado on the side and they only charged $2 or $3. Lobster roll cold. The bread and fries were mediocre. We only finished the lobster meat. It's not comparable to Banks but still very solid. read more
People kept saying the perfect clam chowder exists here so we had to check it out and we once again had to believe in the power of democracy. We got the clam chowder in a bread bowl $13 and the waiter kindly divided it up for us so we can split it like civilized humans. And omg it was definitely the best I've had. There was a good amount of clam in the chowder with a fresh ocean taste instead of the usual starchy bland flavor. Of course we had to get the fried calamari $21 and it was mediocre. A little on the salty side and kinda greasy at the end. The lobster carbonara on the special was out of this world (I forgot $$ maybe ~50)! The noodles were perfectly al dente, perfectly coated in butter and spices. The crispy bacon added flavor to the lobster. And there were sizable chunks of lobster, something a pitiful insatiable seafood fiend like me truly cares about. The service was really fast and pleasant. The place filled up quick, we got a table at 6pm on a Friday but there was a line when we were leaving. The restaurant has kinda a busy and fast-paced vibe, perfect for family gatherings or go with people you can't stand for more than 10 minutes but still miss their presence every ten years or so. read more
The seafood here is phenomenal- extremely fresh and cooked perfectly! Loved the vibe and atmosphere, great location, and our server was outstanding! Prices are a bit high, but on par for what you'd see in the main core of the city - and the quality backs it up. We came in later in the evening on a Monday night and it was super busy - but they were able to seat us on their patio right away. They had heaters and it was so lovely. Great views of the city and awesome for people watching. To start, we chose the beet and goat cheese salad and omg it's SO good!! It's topped with candied pecans and comes with a lovely piece of fried goat cheese on the side - it was so light and delicious- I loved it. For our dinner, we ended up going for the paella - it's expensive but would've been about the same if we'd ordered two separate dinners anyways so it worked out. The portion is massive and comes with generous amounts of the freshest seafood - soft flaky whitefish, giant shrimp, plump clams and mussels, chorizo and chicken - with all the seafood coming right from the Boston harbor that day!! Doesn't get much more fresh and local than that! It was flavorful and cooked perfectly - came out steamy and sizzling - we almost at the whole thing lol!! Our server was so sweet, personable and very attentive - great service all around. The patio is chic and relaxing - with stellar views and definitely makes you want to linger and savor your meal. We had an all around excellent experience and would definitely come back next time we're in Boston. read more

Lovely spot for a classy yet approachable lunch in the Back Bay. Service, ambiance and most importantly the food were all fantastic! read more
Delicious food and lots of options. Make a reservation it's popping! We waited half an hour to sit outside and it was cozy - heated! The service was nice and somewhat quick. We met ruined that we want to share everything and they ended splitting everything in half. We shared the lobster roll and that was phenomenal. SO MUCH LOBSTER! The octopus appetizer was delicious as well but not necessary if you are getting lobster roll and a clam chowder bread ball. read more

Came here to taste the celebrated New England clam chowder and tasted it along the tender calamari. Lobster roll for dinner along with haddock and we left with a full stomach. Service was quick despite the crowd. Parking is difficult if you look for your own on the street, so we did valet parking. read more
To start off, the food was actually really good and I have no complaints when it comes to the quality of the food. Great clam chowder and lobster roll. Here's why this place only gets 2/5 stars from me. Let me give you a hint: service. My wife and I came here after driving from NYC in the morning because we wanted a good clam chowder and I wanted a lobster roll. I found this place and the reviews were good and everyone was raving about their clam chowder. It was a little pricier but we figured why not. Let's give it a shot. We placed our names in around 7:10 pm on a Tuesday. They seemed quite busy but we opted for first available seating. We had the chance to look at the menu and knew what we wanted. A clam chowder in a bread bowl and a lobster roll. We got seated within 5-10 minutes which was nice. Seated outside of course. Our server, Christopher, came by and gave us menus and asked if we wanted anything to drink. My wife and I really only wanted the items we came here for so we politely told him water was fine. He brought out bread and took our order. The bread was really good by the way. However, that was the last time any type of "service" was provided at this restaurant from Christopher. My wife was thirsty and drank all her water. During our meal, we saw our server grab a pitcher of water and filled up everyone else's water EXCEPT ours. My wife purposefully set down her empty glass as he was heading our direction and he purposely ignored it and left to chat with other people. Second, he was chatty with all the other tables around us EXCEPT ours. As a matter of fact. He didn't even check in on how our food was after it was delivered. He didn't even deliver the food. Someone else did. Third, our food took forever to arrive. I get it. It's busy. But people that got seated before us got their meals first and they ordered a lot more than us. Forth, we just felt ignored by our server. I get it. We're not the table that spent the most money that evening. Doesn't excuse the lack of service. I'm still a paying customer and was very disappointed at the lack of service, especially at a higher end restaurant. The only good news is I saved on tips that night because the amount I tip is based off service. If you come here, make sure to order a lot otherwise Christopher might not give you good service. read more
I cannot rave enough about this place; everything from the food, ambiance, and service hit a home run. This is a must visit place if you are in Boston! They seated and served our large party with ease and the food and drinks came out quickly. I desperately wanted the Shellfish Tower, but had no one to share it with, so opted for the Chilean Sea Bass. It did not disappoint - was cooked and seasoned well and loved the mushrooms it sat atop. The East coast oysters were delicious, fresh, and just a touch briny which I loved. The calamari was a tad overcooked, but delicious nonetheless. The crown jewel was the Baked Alaska which was flamed tableside. It had a light peppermint flavor, which was a nice surprise. read more
Food. Wow. Amazing. Worth the money and they weren't being greedy by giving a little. Actually felt full from just one main course and an appetizer. Service was good despite being so busy. Very crowded. You're going to make new friends. But cool atmosphere and lots of sounds and noises. Wait time crazy!!! read more
Went with my team to dinner here. We arrived around 5:30 and by the time I left at 8:00, the place was packed. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Very attentive to our table. I am that guy who ordered pork chops at a fish restaurant but I was not disappointed. The pork chop was huge and had good flavor. A bit overcooked but overall tasty. The best part of the meal for me was the dessert. I got a Boston Crème pie, and it did not disappoint. Portion size was perfect after a large meal. The restaurant has a fun ambiance to it. Feels like you step back in time when you eat here. Definitely worth a go. read more

We were glad to get a reservation. The ambiance felt classic and service was good. We ordered the steamed lobster, bouillabaisse, little neck clams, scallops, lobster roll, lobster bisque, and clam chowder. Overall the food was a-okay, but nothing stood out. My friend got faked out by the scallops dish: she mistook the potatoes for scallops and was quite disappointed. Overall the standout item of the night was the dirty martini! You can choose a garnish option of blue cheese stuffed olives or lump crab. Both were tasty. read more

Had a reservation after visited Emerson Colonial Theatre. Was a nice ambiance inside. Once filled up was a little loud. The bread was delicious. Server was great. Husband got sole special and was good. Sis got halibut. My fish and chips got soggy toward the end so I didn't eat it all. Like a crisp outside. Flavor was good though. read more
First off, the service I received was superb. Our server made sure to fold our napkins if we stepped away, brought out hot towels after we finished the seafood tower, and checked on us often to make sure our food was perfect. Every dish we ordered was well portioned and came out hot. Since we ordered a lot, our server timed the dishes to come out in waves. My favorite of our lunch was definitely the seafood tower! All the shell fish was fresh and they had made it so easy for us to eat the lobster. I really enjoyed my espresso martini and it had just the right balance of sweetness and bitterness. Our table was near the front of the restaurant. The dining area was very comfortable and clean. It was such a nice lunch and I would come back again. read more
Sat at the bar for a solo dinner. Quick service with friendly staff. Semi-loud spot but was fun people watching at the bar. The bacon wrapped scallops were good but not my vibe. Think its the mustard and I'm not a mustard person but that's on me not the restaurant. The clam chowder is really good and not watery either. Overall, I'd come back to try more food! read more
Solid seafood spot in Back Bay. Overall atmosphere: good for business lunches and client dinners, family get-togethers, a tad stuffier than some of the other nearby seafood spots like Select or Saltie Girl. I love a good complimentary bread basket with butter, wish more places in Boston kept this tradition. - Oysters: mix of West and East Coast. Compared to others I've enjoyed over the summer, these were on the puny, shrunken side. Some lacked any liquid. - Clam chowder: not bad but also not the best I've ever had, was extremely heavy (maybe flour or starch used for thickening) without any accompanying boost in taste. I did like the mini biscuit added to the soup. - My aunt and I shared the whole branzino with spinach and mushrooms. The waitstaff kindly split everything into two dishes for us. Even with half the dish, I had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Just know that the entree portions are quite sizable. My cousin ordered the lobster thermidor with mushrooms and sherry cream sauce, and the picture doesn't do the sheer size of the thing justice. You could have fed a whole family with that one dish. Our waitress was sweet and personable, making sure we were all satisfied. I'd come back for the service alone. Parking: a few garages in the area, street parking is impossible. read more

This is one of my favorites, I actually had my birthday dinner here, and my server was Randy. He was friendly and helpful. He checked on our table often, and the only feedback is that I would have like the bread and butter at the table sooner. Otherwise, everything was great! I look forward to going again. The sangria delicious, and the green tea shots will give you a buzz. Yes, definitely try this place. read more

Came here on the way home from a ball game. Saw they have chowder in a bread bowl and sounded so good. Vibe is definitely on the classier end but can also just come and chill at the bar. Enjoyed the bread bowl and a glass of wine. Service was friendly. read more
Pretty good. Of course there are a number of good seafood restaurants in Boston, so the bar is high - especially with the price of seafood around here. So I wouldn't say it's the best I've had, but it was decent. Nice meaty swordfish with a snappy salsa verde on top. Really tasty clam chowder. Decent scallops. Corn pudding side was quite good. Au gratin potatoes seemed to have forgotten the cheese - it was more like just a sliced potato casserole. read more
Service was alright. Felt a little rushed by the waiter even though it wasn't that busy. He also forgot one of our orders. Not the best lobster roll I've had in Boston. My friend's fries were hot, but mine were cold. The interior makes it look like a more upscale place, but that might be for price inflation. I recommend reservations if you're looking to give it a try. It was busy on a Tuesday night for a party of 3. Overall, there are better places. read more

Stopped by here on a Wednesday after work around 6:30. Easily grabbed a seat outside. The waiter dude was great -forgot his name. I ordered the lobster bisque and crab cake entree. Lobster bisque was ok. I've had better pretty much everywhere else. Crab cakes were solid. Nothing to write home about. Overall this place was solid. I don't have any complaints other than I guess I had higher expectations for a place on Boylston street. Will I go back? Probably not. Nothing wrong with this place but if I'm on Boylston I made as well spend my money at a steak house. read more
The pasta was overcooked but the Fra Diavolo was flavorful and the seared scallops were good. Definitely not worth the price. My friends got the lobster roll, which was decent. We waited for roughly 30 minutes for a table for 3 on a Monday night. Service wasn't fast. They also forgot our lobster bisque order. Overall, I would say a good spot for a social meal. read more

How is the pan roasted halibut prepared?
It was really good. Not over done and dried but succulent and so moist that it should have a NSFW label. Halibut, when cook properly, will have the best flavors come through. How was it prepared? I have no idea. I focused on the fish. The other…
What is the cost of valet parking?
The menu online doesn't show any prices. Just wondering what a standard entree costs?
Seafood entrees range from $35 to $60
Can patrons bring their own wine with a corkage fee?
I don't believe that you can. You should call the restaurant to be sure.
Is the dress code enforced ? We don't have a sport coat with us but otherwise dressed appropriately.
No it's not enforced. We went for date night so we were dressy casual.
