i booked a reservation here to celebrate my birthday with my 6 friends. from the very start my birthday was acknowledged by the host and the waitress which made me feel special :) our waitress jhada was incredibly attentive and very friendly. she explained the different menus and specials to us as well as checking up on us periodically and we were given refills in a timely manner. the restaurant has a nice warm lighting so this would be a great place to take a date but they have enough seating where a large party could also be accommodated! we ordered a lot of food but i got the meatballs as the app (superb) and the chicken parmesan as my entree. it's HUGE!! i wasn't expecting that much so i was pleasantly surprised. it's worth your money! and it was delicious. ALL of my friends enjoyed what they ordered. i wanted creme brulee (it's my favorite dessert ever) so jhada actually had them switch out the typical birthday dessert for me!!! sooo sweet!! my friends also ordered the peach cobbler which was deliciousss. when we left i forgot my togo box (they plate everything up for you btw) so she caught us while we were still on the stairs to hand it to me. and then when we were almost in the parking garage she ran out to hand us my friend's watch that she left on the table!!! jhada was such an excellent waitress and definitely made our experience 100x even better!!! wonderful food, ambiance and service :) read more

I stumbled upon a fine-dining Italian Resturaunt with a rustic vintage decor hidden in the heart of Atlanta. What I Ordered: Starters * Wedge Salad (crispy bacon crumbles with a peppery Blue Cheese Dressing) 8/10 * Shrimp Fra Diavolo (Spicy Tomato Sauce filled with spices and shrimp was sautéed perfectly) 8.5/10 Main Course * Shrimp Scampi (Drenched in Cheese and barely any cream sauce) 3/10 Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the whole meal, but the main entree was underwhelming compared to the appetizers. This was a great experience from beginning to end! When you come in there are a few stairs you have to go up to get into the restaurant but it's a cute atmosphere with dim lighting and offers bar seating as well. Our server immediately greeted us and advised us of the wine menu, dinner menu, and specials. Once we put in our appetizers we were brought out bread with a side of marinara sauce to dip it in and the bread was great. I started with the Caesar salad with anchovies which was great. My main entree was the salmon and risotto which was cooked to perfection! I also got a side of Brussels that were cooked just right and seasoned very well. Service was decent. Vibes are ok. Prices are way too steep. They add a 20 percent gratuity charge regardless how you feel about anything. Our waiter, Tanner, truly made the dinner special. He was attentive, funny, helpful, and genuinely friendly, which elevated the entire experience. We were in Atlanta for a team meeting and dined together as a group. Although we had a limited menu, everything we tried was excellent. I especially enjoyed the pasta with lamb and pork meatballs, the Caesar salad, and the apple cobbler which was outstanding. We also enjoyed a few bottles of Michael David Earthquake Cab. While I don't usually order coffee at this time of day, I'm glad I did; it was so smooth and flavorful that I plan to ask about the brand so I can enjoy it at home. Upscale restaurant with relaxed vibe. Dined solo so sat at the bar. The bartender took excellent care of me. Their wine list and cocktail menu were extensive with anything you could possibly want. You know the bar is good when they stock Amaro Nono. I really liked that they have a "specials" menu with recommended pairings. I started with a wonderful Caymus red blend, Lobster Bisque followed by the Sweet Potato Gnocchi for an entree. The Lobster Bisque was the best I've had anywhere. The Gnocchi with Artichokes and Sausage was special as well. Prepared perfectly with large portions. No room for dessert so that will have to wait until I return. Service was friendly and amazing. Absolutely lovely time! Every member of the staff we interacted with were fantastic, the hostess was nice and professional, and our waitresses were friendly and quick (thank you Anita and Marie)! The food was wonderful, nice big satisfying portions with great flavors! First night in downtown Atlanta for work, and we picked this spot on a whim. We were not dissapointed. They were able to seat us immediately, and the service was great. Big shout out to Tugce who was extremely helpful with the menu and was super sweet about answering all my questions. I got the Pecan Crusted Sea Bass which was a special. The cook was great and the sauce was on point. I also got the Shrimp Diavolo. They have a southern Italian fusion style so the sauces are red and a little spicy which I am definitely into. The vibe was pretty fancy with the dimly lit nice decoration kind of thing. Overall it was a great time. We will likely take some of our work colleagues here this week. Our dinner at Atalian tonight was some of the best Italian I've ever had, which is a bold statement. The food was absolutely impeccable & the service was top notch- with a wonderful wine program too! Located in downtown Atlanta, Atalian came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. Our server team was Anita & Marie, and they made sure we had a wonderful experience. We started with the tuna tartare, which was prepared poke-style with house made chips. It was perfectly prepared with fresh avocado, sesame oil & ponzu, and not too salty. They also bring out bread service- 2 artisan breads with a sun-dried tomato olive oil dipping sauce, it was delicious!! We got a bottle of Leviathan red blend, which I picked after perusing the menu for a bit ($80 so mid-road for their selection, if you don't include the $300+ reserve bottles). It was divine. Joey got the meatballs & linguine, and the meatballs were just like Italian nonna recipe with a perfectly prepared marinara with subtle garlic & fresh basil.. sooooo good. I chose the Steakhouse bolognese, which was pappardelle tossed with a different marinara than Joeys & the meat was so tender & steak/short-rib style. So freakin good! All in all, we left with extremely full bellies & can't stop raving about how wonderful our meal was.. one of the best we've had out to eat in quite a while. The perfect hidden gem! Walk upstairs and smell the amazing food you are about to devour. We were visiting from out of town. We knew we were coming in late so we ordered to go and enjoyed a drink at a high top. The service was by far the best experience. Everyone was so helpful and nice l. My mom makes the best lasagna on the planet... hands down... no one else has ever come close...EVER! My mom passed away 13 years ago and even though I have her recipe and I make it for special occasions... mine misses that magic touch... that sprinkle of love that makes you realize you are special because someone made this dish for you! Too be clear, mom's is still the best because I fear what she might do from beyond the grave should I profess another is better... bit more red wine and a little bit of heat and I'd be in trouble because the LOVE in this dish? Quick tip for first-timers: it is tucked inside another restaurant on the top floor, so do not be thrown off when you first arrive. The space itself is gorgeous, with an ambiance that feels elevated but still comfortable. My coworkers ordered the shrimp scampi (our server immediately hyped it up with a "great choice by the way" and she was right, they loved it). I went with the salmon and it was heavenly. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and plated beautifully. Drinks did not disappoint either. I had a lemon drop that hit all the right notes. Shoutout to the bartender for making it just right. Service overall was wonderful. The two ladies who helped us were so kind, attentive, and really added to the experience. The lights and decor are pretty- the overall aesthetic of the restaurant is so modern and nice. The food! Everything on the menu looked delicious. We ended up ordering the chicken parmigiana and chicken pesto pasta. Both were delicious dishes. I really don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. They bring out this bread with this sun dried tomato sauce and it is. To. Die. For. There is something to be said about the hospitality and kindness of the people in Atlanta. Premier spot of a calm atmosphere that will be humble even when someone is eating alone. I sat at the bar and the attention was given and not too intrusive. The menu of the drinks is impressive and it has various types of wines and cocktails and even its specials menu is thoughtful and matches the dishes well. The lobster bisque was well cooked and the gnocchi was excellent and full of flavor. Servings were large, but movement was a little uneasy here and there. Thankfully, it was very good. The sun dried tomato dip they serve with the bread is amazing as well. The ambiance is quite attractive inside, although I must say the tables are quite cramped. Our group of 5 sat at 6 top and were quite uncomfortable. The service was friendly but nothing amazing. Every server seemed frenzied and ill informed. My tablemates asked for a few drink recommendations and our server couldn't make any because she wasn't 21 yet, nor did she know the difference between their two old fashions. Understandable that she can't drink, but she should still be able to speak to the menu. Especially for the prices they are charging. Although I enjoyed the flavors of dinner, I'm still in shock at how expensive the entrees were. I wouldn't come back. Wasn't worth $80/person. read more

We made a reservation through OpenTable for our 11-year anniversary and specifically noted we wanted a romantic table. Unfortunately, the restaurant should have been closed for a private event that night -- around 60-80 people from a medical conference filled the space, making it unbelievably loud and chaotic. Our server was amazing but the atmosphere was nothing like what we'd expected or what we'd reserved for. We ended up leaving after our appetizer and taking our wine to go. To make matters worse, the manager's response was unprofessional and dismissive rather than apologetic. It's disappointing because this could have been avoided with simple communication or honesty when accepting reservations. If there's ever a large private group, future guests deserve to know before booking. read more

I had the chicken parmesan and, as an appetizer, the risotto fritters. The food was good and the portions ample. My main complaint is that the meal seemed very pricey for the very basic meal that it was. $32 for the chicken parm and $18 for the appetizer. It was a nice meal, but not special. read more

My boyfriend and I had dinner here for my birthday. The food was great, and we really enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Tables that were seated after us received drinks and bread before we did. It wasn't a huge deal to us, but it felt like, since we were younger than most of the other guests, we weren't given the same attention to detail. They knew it was my birthday and asked if we wanted dessert, which we politely declined. In Atlanta for a conference. Staying in mid-town at the Crowne Plazza ( review pending). Wanted Italian close to the hotel and selected the Atalian. We started with what we thought would be the shrimp fra diavolo, but they also brought the roasted egg plat bruschetta. We kept both, and they were very good. The shrimp was slightly spicy. The grilled toast it was served on was totally soaked with the sauce and in no way resembled toast. It would have been fine served without the bread. We enjoyed both. I had the fish special, but I don't recall the name of the fish. It reminded me of dover sole but not as delicate. It was served with artichoke hearts, capers, and roasted tomatos. It was a mild fish and just slightly overcooke but enjoyable. My wife had the ossco buco, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I took a taste, and it reminded me of pot roast. The gravey it was in was very tasty. For desert, we shared the apple cobbler. It was different. Reminded me of bread pudding and was covered in pecans. I enjoyed it more than my wife. The service was ok. The bar is great. The venue decor is confused. The noise grew louder as the occupancy increased. It was quite at 7:15, but noisy an hour later. The prices are reasonable.
