Loved this Italian restaurant in downtown ATL! They did an off menu special for us (shrimp arrabbiata) using a mix of their famous red sauce and white scampi sauce. It was INCREDIBLE. It was creamy, spicy, delicious. Dreaming of it still!! We also got the spicy sausage tortellini special dish. It was okay! Still very delicious but just didn't compare to the shrimp dish! Loved it. We also got the tiramisu which was more espresso than sweet, which was the perfect way to end our meal! It was VERY busy and loud on a Tuesday around 8pm which was surprising!
I stumbled upon a fine-dining Italian Resturaunt with a rustic vintage decor hidden in the heart of Atlanta. What I Ordered: Starters * Wedge Salad (crispy bacon crumbles with a peppery Blue Cheese Dressing) 8/10 * Shrimp Fra Diavolo (Spicy Tomato Sauce filled with spices and shrimp was sautéed perfectly) 8.5/10 Main Course * Shrimp Scampi (Drenched in Cheese and barely any cream sauce) 3/10 Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the whole meal, but the main entree was underwhelming compared to the appetizers. Some dishes were sold out, so I would recommend coming at an earlier time for a better array of meal selections.
This was a great experience from beginning to end! When you come in there are a few stairs you have to go up to get into the restaurant but it's a cute atmosphere with dim lighting and offers bar seating as well. Our server immediately greeted us and advised us of the wine menu, dinner menu, and specials. Once we put in our appetizers we were brought out bread with a side of marinara sauce to dip it in and the bread was great. I started with the Caesar salad with anchovies which was great. My main entree was the salmon and risotto which was cooked to perfection! I also got a side of Brussels that were cooked just right and seasoned very well. Others in my group stated that all of their meals were very tasty.
Service was decent. Vibes are ok. Prices are way too steep. They add a 20 percent gratuity charge regardless how you feel about anything. The steak was barely warm to say the least and I highly doubt it was 8oz to be honest. The mash potatoes side was not bad. I had the peach cobbler for dessert which was probably the best part. Overall not impressed when you look at the prices of drinks and meals.
Our waiter, Tanner, truly made the dinner special. He was attentive, funny, helpful, and genuinely friendly, which elevated the entire experience. We were in Atlanta for a team meeting and dined together as a group. Although we had a limited menu, everything we tried was excellent. I especially enjoyed the pasta with lamb and pork meatballs, the Caesar salad, and the apple cobbler which was outstanding. We also enjoyed a few bottles of Michael David Earthquake Cab. While I don't usually order coffee at this time of day, I'm glad I did; it was so smooth and flavorful that I plan to ask about the brand so I can enjoy it at home. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming, and everyone left the evening very satisfied with the overall experience.

I was dining at the bar at Atalian, and already towards the end of our meal there was a mid sized Roach crawling on my friends lap on top of the napkin. I threw the napkin off of her, and shortly after the bartender came by to pick up the napkin and I told him about the roach. He said sorry and that he'd let the owner know. But I have a feeling that this is a larger problem there. Although I was just visiting the city, I will not recommend this to anyone.

You know the bar is good when they stock Amaro Nono. I really liked that they have a "specials" menu with recommended pairings. I started with a wonderful Caymus red blend, Lobster Bisque followed by the Sweet Potato Gnocchi for an entree. The Lobster Bisque was the best I've had anywhere. The Gnocchi with Artichokes and Sausage was special as well. Prepared perfectly with large portions. No room for dessert so that will have to wait until I return. Service was friendly and amazing. Atalian is an Atlanta downtown gem.

Absolutely lovely time! Every member of the staff we interacted with were fantastic, the hostess was nice and professional, and our waitresses were friendly and quick (thank you Anita and Marie)! The food was wonderful, nice big satisfying portions with great flavors! My partner and I got the lamb shank and sweet potato gnocchi and we kept swapping because we couldn't decide which we liked better! Atmosphere was also great, it feels like a small haven away from the city because you have to go up a set of stairs for this hidden gem. Loved it, can't wait to go again!
First night in downtown Atlanta for work, and we picked this spot on a whim. We were not dissapointed. They were able to seat us immediately, and the service was great. Big shout out to Tugce who was extremely helpful with the menu and was super sweet about answering all my questions. I got the Pecan Crusted Sea Bass which was a special. The cook was great and the sauce was on point. I also got the Shrimp Diavolo. They have a southern Italian fusion style so the sauces are red and a little spicy which I am definitely into. The vibe was pretty fancy with the dimly lit nice decoration kind of thing. Overall it was a great time. We will likely take some of our work colleagues here this week. Also we gotta go see Tugce again! Thanks, Atalian!

Overall: 4.5/5 Food 4.5/5 - Caesar Salad - I can remember the rating of this that I gave, but I do remember it being fresh and really tasty. Bolognese Pasta - 5/5 - I have been around the world, including Italy, and this was actually one of the best pastas I have ever had - especially if you like beef bolognese. So good. Service - 5/5 - All very professional, prompt, and friendly. Atmosphere - 5/5 - classy, quiet, and ambient. A very nice spot! read more

i booked a reservation here to celebrate my birthday with my 6 friends. from the very start my birthday was acknowledged by the host and the waitress which made me feel special :) our waitress jhada was incredibly attentive and very friendly. she explained the different menus and specials to us as well as checking up on us periodically and we were given refills in a timely manner. the restaurant has a nice warm lighting so this would be a great place to take a date but they have enough seating where a large party could also be accommodated! we ordered a lot of food but i got the meatballs as the app (superb) and the chicken parmesan as my entree. it's HUGE!! i wasn't expecting that much so i was pleasantly surprised. it's worth your money! and it was delicious. ALL of my friends enjoyed what they ordered. i wanted creme brulee (it's my favorite dessert ever) so jhada actually had them switch out the typical birthday dessert for me!!! sooo sweet!! my friends also ordered the peach cobbler which was deliciousss. when we left i forgot my togo box (they plate everything up for you btw) so she caught us while we were still on the stairs to hand it to me. and then when we were almost in the parking garage she ran out to hand us my friend's watch that she left on the table!!! jhada was such an excellent waitress and definitely made our experience 100x even better!!! wonderful food, ambiance and service :) read more

My mom makes the best lasagna on the planet... hands down... no one else has ever come close...EVER! My mom passed away 13 years ago and even though I have her recipe and I make it for special occasions... mine misses that magic touch... that sprinkle of love that makes you realize you are special because someone made this dish for you! Mine may taste like mom's... but it isn't. Every other lasagna I've ever had has missed that ingredient too... sure, others have tried and there has been good lasagna and a couple of great lasagna... but even when a girl made me lasagna on a date, I didn't feel the love. Albeit, hers was the Hamburger Helper variety Nonetheless, many have tried and many have failed... and then there was Atalian Kichen! Now their sauce lacked the punch that my mom's had but my mom had a heavy hand with the red wine and she used a hot Italian/ sweet italian blend that always have it the right amount of kick. Too be clear, mom's is still the best because I fear what she might do from beyond the grave should I profess another is better... bit more red wine and a little bit of heat and I'd be in trouble because the LOVE in this dish? DAMN! It's tangible. You can see it with the stellar presentation. Perfectly crafted with precision... not an herb out of place. Symmetrical from top to bottom. Encased with a warm hug of pure bliss... that cheesy creamy layer on top...I honestly don't know what that is... I'm thinking creme fraiche... but whatever it was really sent this dish over the top! This is an experience...I nearly wept while eating this lasagna... someone in this kitchen loves what they do and it shows! #2 Lasagna in the World!!! Love you Ma! read more

The perfect hidden gem! Walk upstairs and smell the amazing food you are about to devour. We were visiting from out of town. We knew we were coming in late so we ordered to go and enjoyed a drink at a high top. The service was by far the best experience. Everyone was so helpful and nice l. We enjoyed conversations with multiple staff members. We came back to the hotel and enjoyed a great lasagna and amazing dessert. Make sure to make a reservation and check them out! read more

I was in ATL for a work trip, and my coworkers suggested Atalian during our downtime. I am so glad we went! Quick tip for first-timers: it is tucked inside another restaurant on the top floor, so do not be thrown off when you first arrive. The space itself is gorgeous, with an ambiance that feels elevated but still comfortable. My coworkers ordered the shrimp scampi (our server immediately hyped it up with a "great choice by the way" and she was right, they loved it). I went with the salmon and it was heavenly. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and plated beautifully. Drinks did not disappoint either. I had a lemon drop that hit all the right notes. Shoutout to the bartender for making it just right. Service overall was wonderful. The two ladies who helped us were so kind, attentive, and really added to the experience. Definitely one of those places I would return to next time I am in Atlanta. read more

Absolutely recommend!! We came to Atlanta for a work conference and I'm so glad we found this place. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing. The lights and decor are pretty- the overall aesthetic of the restaurant is so modern and nice. The food! Everything on the menu looked delicious. We ended up ordering the chicken parmigiana and chicken pesto pasta. Both were delicious dishes. I really don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. They bring out this bread with this sun dried tomato sauce and it is. To. Die. For. There is something to be said about the hospitality and kindness of the people in Atlanta. Our server, Marvin, was amazing and one of the best waiters I've experienced. He checked in on us, gave us great recommendations and was very attentive. If you are in Atlanta you need to experience this restaurant. It won't disappoint. read more

Atalian was meant for a corporate expense card. Though the food is quite tasty (and truly bumped it to 3 stars from 2), never have I felt so taken by the prices on a menu. $37 for lasagna?!?! Thankfully, it was very good. The sun dried tomato dip they serve with the bread is amazing as well. The ambiance is quite attractive inside, although I must say the tables are quite cramped. Our group of 5 sat at 6 top and were quite uncomfortable. The service was friendly but nothing amazing. Every server seemed frenzied and ill informed. My tablemates asked for a few drink recommendations and our server couldn't make any because she wasn't 21 yet, nor did she know the difference between their two old fashions. Understandable that she can't drink, but she should still be able to speak to the menu. Especially for the prices they are charging. Although I enjoyed the flavors of dinner, I'm still in shock at how expensive the entrees were. I wouldn't come back. Wasn't worth $80/person. read more

The ambiance was top notch. The lighting was beautiful and the music was calm and peaceful. The food was great, I went with 4 other people and everybody loved their dishes and said they would return. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful I would come back most definitely. read more
