This store is terrible. They only have two people working and they have spent 45 minutes with the same person. There is no sign in sheet to get in a line and one of the reps actually had the nerve to answer the phone and help a customer who called rather than the three people waiting to be helped. The AT&T stores at Beacon Hill and Springfield Commons were not at all helpful. The former told me they discontinued selling pre-paid cellphones and was instructed to go elsewhere. Purchased one at a non-AT&T store. I was then instructed to go to an AT&T store for set up. Went to the Springfield Commons AT&T only to be sent to the Geek Squad for records transfer. I asked at the Springfield Commons Store if they sold pre-paid phones and they said they did. I don't know whether they didn't/or couldn't transfer my phone contents because I purchased it elsewhere or they just didn't know how. Strongly suggest that all employees be fully trained prior to serving the public. read more

Avoid at all costs and just order your phone and trade-ins online, unless you enjoy being scammed. I ordered a phone online and went to store for pickup. Store staff said they couldn't get the phone data to transfer and needed to cancel my online order and reprocess it in-store. Which in retrospect is ridiculous. In placing the new order he then added a protection plan and the next upgrade plan without asking or ever informing me in any way. While still in the store i started getting texts from ATT to thank me for signing up for these extra services, but the employee said it was probably just a mistake and don't worry about it. But no -- it wasn't a mistake. So he got a commission on the phone now (because it switched from online to in-store), plus two plans he sold with no approval. Even better, when I returned later to drop off the trade-in, another employee said i was eligible for a $300 credit, rather than the $700 credit that i should have been due. So i took my old phone home and called ATT. The plans were removed and i got the full trade in value. And I was further told that ATT has problems with these shenanigans at ATT stores all the time. Do yourself a favor and just shop online. read more

Basically, the associate lied to me. Because the balance actually expires in 1 month. They were not willing to fix the issue nor return my money. read more

Crowded but the sales lady took care of me quickly and we had a few good laughs while I bought a new phone for my son. I hate the paperwork associated with getting the rebate. So, I decided to let my iPhone go for a swim this weekend, and the poor baby - well, she has yet to recover. Faced with this most unfortunate situation, hubs and I went to the at&t store to see what might be possible, as far as upgrades. The store was very busy (like they always are) and there was construction tarps all over the place, complete with a sign that read, "Due to construction, we will close at 8:30 PM." Quick glance at the clock...it was 8:03...fingers crossed they'd get to us in time. After about 20 minutes, we were assisted - the clerk was friendly enough, but he was straight-edged and explained that I wasn't eligible for upgrade pricing - but could pay 'early upgrade' which is $200 off retail prices - sounds good until you hear $499 is retail for the iPhone 3GS...yup, no thanks. We ended up upgrading hubs iPhone to the iPhone 4 (he was planning on doing this anyway, for the most part) and then passing on his current phone to me. Thankfully, the phone was in stock and we were done in about 15 minutes. So, yes, it's a decent enough at&t store - maybe after construction they'll be bigger and have a bigger staff, as it's never that fun to wait - it seems like a majority of the customers were unfamiliar with the idea of having a cellphone period, and were being (patiently) assisted by the employees, explaining to them how to set up voicemail and other (what I perceive to be) rudimentary technological knowledge. read more

I visited this store in Springfield Mall today , 12/15, to switch my service from Verizon to at&t. Daniel S and Logan E were very helpful in getting this done. Great workers that made my visit painless and quick. I would highly recommend this store and these two employees. I also added direct TV (that I can watch on my phone - cool) and I received a new iPhone 7 for FREE!! Nice Also, if you are military you get a 50% off discount. Wow. Worth it. Pretty much all cell phone providers are terrible in terms of customer service but AT&T is hands down the worst of them. Cant wait until the end of this contract to switch. Was trying to switch from a family plan to our own plan and had to go back and forth to the store 4 seperate times because every employee we dealt with told us we needed something else done. The last time we went in the guy who helped us basically said none of this was necessary and was able to do it all on his own. We signed up for a firstnet account since my wife is a first responder.... Her phone is consistently slower and has less service than mine does with the standard AT&T plan. To top it off I called in and asked to merge my iPad account to the new plan and remove the data plan since I only use it on wifi. The rep I spoke with on the phone told me it's better to just suspend the account until the installments are completed (completely false). Even though I never used data for 3 months I was still billed for the data plan. When I realized it and called in the retention line refused to do anything since there "wasn't any notations saying there would be no data charges". Apparently it makes sense to AT&T that a customer would voluntarily shut off their service for an iPad, but still want to pay for it just in case they decide they want to turn it back on again in the future. Even though I have a seperate account with two phones and two Apple Watches they still refuse to do anything to help with the several months of data charges on an iPad that couldn't even use the data due to the suspended account. To top it off, virtually every person you talk to on the phone has the attitude that they could give a crap less about your problems. read more

Awful experience. These employees use misleading and predatory sales techniques by offering promotional "free" items that don't appear until your next billing cycle, which occurs after the 14 day return window. They are liars, abd not to be trusted. read more

It's understandable that upgrading or getting a new phone or add a line can be challenges since time and patience is what you need. We went there to the ATT Springfield store and the systems took forever after waiting for 1 1/2 hour only to find that we had sometime unpaid bill via Direct TV but there's should a quicker checks and balance to alert the store that's this the case. The rep gave us a 800 numbers to call and he puts aside two phones for us while we settle up the bill before they can add the line ( FYI-it takes up to 24-48 hours to clear). After taking care of the bill on our end and have confirmation payment but the store cannot see this at all on their system. The guy who helped us gave us his work personal numbers but as a courtesy we called the store numbers repeatedly to speak with someone who can help us as well to reach the rep himself. Guess what, nada. Finally, reached him but he was on his lunch break so told him I called back but once again no luck, gave up and last resort call ATT directly and to my surprise they were able to help me with my new purchases (got the color phones we want) and add the new line while ship it two days priority., all this in 30 minutes on the phone. So long story short don't go to this store it will be a waste of your time. Can see now why this particular store got a two stars rating for service. read more

I am a long time att account holder and recently got a new account since some of my children got their own accounts. I hadn't received my military discount on the new account so Jennifer( at the frontier store in Springfield) helped me. She was great and got me the discount and a credit since I hadn't received it. Not professional store. I purchased Bluetooth and not working good and when I try to returned before 14 days purchased. They said not refundable just exchange. Something not mention before when I purchased the Bluetooth headset . As soon I get my credit card from my car because I exchange with Bluetooth cheaper. The store get busy and manager is the only one allow to do exchange which he is always try to busy by talking to new customers walk after me and ignore my present and wait for almost 35 min. However, I plan never to step foot in this location again even though it is only miniutes from my home . I stopped in to have a phone I purchased second hand connected to my AT&T account. I am a 55 year old woman and anything to do with technology is a bit intimidating for me...As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a big, beautiful smile and a welcome. While the store was busy, I was assured that I would be taken care of and I was. I haven't experienced this kind of courteous and professional service anywhere in years. The store manager clearly sets the tone at this location and her entire staff was warm and beyond helpful. They went out of their way putting on the screen protector that I purchased. Not very helpful and rude. If you want good customer service with knowledgeable reps, go to the one in Kingstown. I had questions regarding my monthly plan and upgrade options and they told me I couldn't do anything because I was still under contract. The other location explained everything and saved me a lot of money in the process. It was an expensive lesson so save yourself time and money and visit the Kingstown location...it's not too far away and worth the trip. read more

I have been to this store for many years I have not seen anyone that nice, before me there are 2 Spanish man (with no English) he helped them to pay there bill in store, so friendly and nice! unbelievable! Here comes my turn, Troy helped my daughter to get her phone, not only that I have asked him to help me find out the galaxy note in Chinese App, Troy when above and beyond to help me, and called the Samsung tec. for me 20 mins of wait time, he was so patient with us. which I can see other sales will said call this number yourself- - - which he (Troy) didn't. I went to the AT&T store here to figure out a problem I had with my phone and I was treated like cap from the get go. An employee named Jamil immediately started talking to me like I was wasting his time. He didn't sign me in to get my questions answered and was extremely rude. After we talked for a couple seconds I decided I was going to be treated like this and left. I then saw Jamil go outside and make a phone call..... Then I figured out why he didn't care to answer my questions. He obviously had more important things to do other than his JOB. Worst AT&T experience. If you can find another AT&T I wouldn't hesitate. However, since I have a corporate business phone from my company, it took the lady there close to an hour to get it approved/activated for a new SIM card for my new phone and got it working for me. I had been an AT & T customer since the invention of the cell phones, literally, and overall besides having to check my bills constantly to no get overcharge for stupid things, what is at this time of age, normal for all companies, had always being please with the Springfield store, the previous management was always helpful and Sergio is an awesome employee, that is the one I remember because I had buy my iPhone 7, Apple Watch and my IPod from him, all of this for business and all of this in the last few months, so when I bought my Apple Watch I forgot to buy the face cover, went back in, a girl sold me one, paid for it and she place it on the phone, it was a air bubble on it and she said it will go away, but the cover fall out, went back in, a guy gave me a new one and apologize, it come out again after a few weeks so went back in, they could not find my recipe, weird if you scanned in front of me, so I asked if they thought I just took it, the guy said no but could not replace it, call the manager who told me sorry is not recipe, again, how did I get this then, she said don't know but I can sell you another one half price, I asked why did I need to buy another life warranty product when the one I got has life warranty, is not even about the price at this point but the service, I am a GM for a Restaurant and I will never let a Guess leave unhappy, so I asked for the store manager card, they gave me a business card, called and called again no call back, went back to the store and ask for the store manager and surprise, the manager that was very unhelpful and gave me some one else business card was the Store Manager, i asked for District Manager number, we don't have it, really? Does he not check his stores? Called 611, they apologized, no stores have the DM numbers you can send a complaint here, gave a PO Box number, send my complaint, that was a month ago and no one has bother to contact me, so just waiting to finish paying my IPod and will be changing companies read more

A truly horrible, awful, no-good experience... take my word for it and go to a different location -- my recommendation is the AT&T authorized retailer in the kingstowne. We walked in on a Friday evening (they're open until 9 pm) and we find a crowd of customers hovering near the door. There are two employees helping two different customers. I looked for a place to sign in and there was none. After a few moments, a third employee entered the store from the back. He immediately went behind the cash register and sat down and started texting/typing on a cell phone. After about five minutes, I said, "Excuse me, could you help us?" and he said he could NOT help anyone because he was the manager and his job was to sign people in. Um, he had not signed in any of the numerous customers that were milling about? I said, "Are you sure you can't help us, I just have a quick question about upgrading my iPhone." And he said "no" and went back to his phone. His name was Andrew. I waited for 20 minutes and then we were finally approached by one of the two other employees, who was unable to answer my question.
