I recently stopped in to find out the cost of upgrading a few phones. I knew if I was trading in an IPhone, I would be getting a credit of $1000. I was informed that I would be getting a credit of $667 towards my monthly installments, and $333 towards store credit. This has never been the case. And there was no way I would be able to spend $333 in an AT&T store.
So I went to another AT&T store (a corporate one) and found out that that entire $1000 credit should be put towards the monthly installments, and what was happening at this other store was very shady.
Also, a year a half ago, I had purchased 2 phones for my kids. At the time, i was given the family insurance of $45/month to cover all the phones. What I didn't know at the time, and didn't know until it was looked up (as I get paperless statements) at the other store, was that I was being charged an extra $32 for insurance on the two phones, which was put on when those phones were purchased. And guess what, happened at the same store.
I don't know what is going on at this store, but recommend staying away from this store as there are some shady practices going on, which is taking money out of your pockets and putting it into the store. read more
