I went to AT&T to pick up my online order for an iPhone without activation because I like to activate my phones myself. Why did it take me 45 minutes to pick up an online order? There was only one sales rep working and he told me it's going to take at least 10 minutes to open up a safe to hand me my phone. Now I don't know if it's this particular location that sucks or if it's the Capitol Heights area, which is completely dirty ghetto and attracts the wrong crowd that did it, but I completely blame myself for traveling to PG County to pick up a phone. I came in about 15 minutes before closing to get a new iPhone. I thought I was arriving an hour and 15 minutes before closing, but it turned out the hours on google for this location were incorrect. When I walked up to the door, the door was locked and the sales rep looked hesitant to open the door. I knew what I wanted and I didn't think it was going to take long, but it did. The rep was helping someone when he finally let me in, and I was next. I asked about the Pink Iphone 16. I wanted to pay off the phone I had and buy the pink iphone. Apparently, ATT doesn't let you pay for your iPhone flat out. They require you to finance it. So that's what I did. As he was helping me, he stopped to help 2 other folks who had come in. He had to unlock the door for each of them as well. Someone finally asked why the door was locked and he said "because he was there alone." I feel like they should have 2 people there at all times if that is a true concern for employees. After finishing with the other customers, he returned to me. He complained about iphones about 10 times because for some reason he couldn't get the transfer to start. After pushing a bunch of buttons a bunch of times he decided he had broke the new phone. He then had to return it and sell me a new one. I was charged the taxes, they were returned, and then he rung me up again. I had the worst experience ever at the AT&T retail store in Ritchie Station Court, Maryland. If you're considering going to a retail AT&T store instead of a corporate one, I strongly advise against it. I went to this store to resolve some issues with my phone. Before arriving, I had already spoken to an AT&T representative over the phone who helped me get service back on my line after I had lost it earlier that day. My phone was operating on SOS mode, so I went to the store expecting help with getting everything fully resolved. However, I had no idea that there was a significant difference between retail and corporate stores, or that the staff at retail stores might lack the competence to handle phone issues. My visit to the Ritchie Station store was a complete disaster. I was there from 4 to 7 PM, and it was a nightmare. The employee who assisted me tried rebooting my phone and changing the SIM card, but nothing worked. He then gave me a lame excuse, saying that my phone, an iPhone 12 mini, was too outdated to be fixed and that I needed to buy a new one. On top of that, while he was supposed to be helping me, he was distracted by another customer who was being rude and impatient. Instead of focusing on my issue, he and another employee started talking trash about that customer, including making inappropriate comments about how one of them almost got her pregnant. I couldn't believe how unprofessional they were. Eventually, I intervened in their conversation and explained that I had already spoken with AT&T earlier and they had been able to restore service, though the hearing issue on my phone remained unresolved. I suggested that he call AT&T, which he did. While waiting for an AT&T representative to get on the line, the employee started talking about phone upgrade options. He told me I could get an iPhone 14 for $10 a month, but I told him that the rep I spoke to over the phone had offered me an iPhone 15 for $3 a month. He insisted that the rep made a mistake, but after checking with his coworker (who had been part of the earlier inappropriate conversation), they confirmed that I was right. By this point, I was beyond irritated. The employee ordered the new phone, which was supposed to arrive in three days. Finally, the AT&T rep got on the line, but they needed a manager to continue, as they required certain codes only the manager could provide. Here's where things got even worse: the manager had left the store at 6 PM, without telling the employees or the two Hispanic families he was assisting. When they called him, he said he went to the bank. How do you leave customers in the store, including those you were actively helping, to go to the bank? Unbelievable! We had to disconnect the call with the AT&T rep because the manager wasn't there, and I waited another 45 minutes, but the manager never returned. The workers tried their best to assist the Hispanic families despite the language barrier, but I was fed up. I asked the employee what I should do, and he suggested that I keep waiting for the manager or go to the corporate store before they closed. He promised that once the manager returned, they'd see what could be done to make up for the inconvenience and that he'd follow up with me once my phone arrived. Of course, I left and went to the corporate store on MLK in Maryland. There, I received excellent service. The employee at the corporate store explained everything to me clearly and even managed to restore my phone's service. He also pointed out that I had been facing additional issues because the previous employee hadn't properly processed my order. It's hard to explain, but suffice it to say, the corporate store saved the day. Now back to the Ritchie Station store: my phone arrived, but I never received a call from the employee, as promised. If I hadn't checked the tracking myself, I probably wouldn't have known it had arrived. A week and a half later, I went back to the store to request a refund. I will never recommend this store to anyone. AT&T retail stores are a waste of time and do nothing but focus on commissions rather than genuinely helping customers. AT&T should seriously consider getting rid of these retail stores because they are a terrible representation of the brand. It's bad enough that AT&T's service is unreliable in certain areas, but experiences like this one just make it worse. read more

Admittedly after reading a few old reviews about this location I almost didn't go but gave it a shot. Boy am I happy I did. Dre was awesome! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated his honesty that while my 5 year old glitching phone was insured and I could easily get it replaced, that I would continue having storage issues. There was no pressure and a fit an upgrade I couldn't refuse. Check out this hidden, not crowded AT&T for all of your needs. Dre really saved my entire day! read more

I would definitely recommend this AT&T store location. I've been to several other stores like this in the past but I've never had the level of customer service that employee, Andre gave me from the moment he asked how he could help me. The way he explained the difference between products I was looking at to him just giving amazing customer service. He even told me about a feature that I've had on my plan that no one else has EVER mentioned to me. My overall experience at the Ritchie Station location was absolutely incredible and I will be back. read more

I was having some phone issues so I decided to go to the Att store. I was greeted very polightly by all stuff and attended immediately. Andre was able to resolve all my issues that both my devices were having and also explained how going forward I can prevent it from occurring again​ read more

I went to the store wanting to upgrade my IPhone to a later model, I got there and I had to wait. Not a problem. The problem was during my conversation with one of the associates he asked if he could help me and I said yes that I would like to see the IPhone 11 or 12 because I am considering to upgrade me phone. I asked the associate if I can see one of the phones he mentioned to me that he do not have any phones that he could show but the phones in the box. I asked him if I could see the phone he mentioned that it's in a box, so I asked him can you take it out the box I want to see it before I upgrade my phone, he said to me that he couldn't take the phone out of the box to show me. He repeatedly mentioned this to me , I was upset and left the store. I had 2 phones that I wanted to upgrade. Bad service! read more

Customer service is trash, they are clueless and I was told to go to an actual ATT store, not authorized dealer like them... first off, I could give 0 stars, I would... they don't have any signs anywhere in the store that says they are an authorized dealer, not even on the sign outside... reason I'm pointing this out is because if you run into a complicated problem as I did, the FIRST thing they say is "well you have to go to an actual retail store"... huh why didn't you lead with that depending on the problem you are having with the service..
