Do you like metal? Do you like Funko pops? Do you like comics? The answer to all 3 of those things should be yes, and if you answered yes, you should probably come check out Asylum Records. I stopped here on a Tuesday morning when they opened before heading back to Las Vegas and I'm so glad I did. This is a huge store full of records, collectible, shirts, and even has a ton of signed memorabilia on the wall for you to gawk over. After a ton of browsing my girlfriend settled on some records and we were on our way. I wish we had more time to scope things out and I will absolutely be hitting up Asylum Records the near time I end up back in the Phoenix area. Do yourself a favour and check this place out!

An unbelieveable place! It's like a "Rock and Roll Museum" in there... with Tony Iommi's Jacket from "LIVE EVIL"... TED NUGENTS' Outfit from "FREE FOR ALL"... Stephen Pearcy's stage outfit from Ratt's "You Think You're Tough".... I couldn't believe it!! SCOTT knows more about the history of music in his little Finger than most in their whole body... PLUS an incredible selection of FUNKO POPS!! WOW!!! I picked up some RARE "SWEET", "DEEP PURPLE"... and "RAINBOW" Imports recently..

    KISS memorabilia

Badass store, records, tons of funko pops, retro shirts, signed posters galore! Stickers upon stickers, patches; BOGO free CDs at the front, loads of collectible toys and an ENORMOUS collection of KISS memorabilia. Scott, the owner is a super knowledgeable guy, I got a Dimebag poster & a BLS shirt; he showed me his cool ass PANTERA tattoos & his personal pictures with Vinnie Paul & Dimebag. His cat Hopper was a pleasant & cute little surprise.

I had never before seen anything like the Funko Pop collection that Asylum has on the North wall inside their store.

He was super nice and very knowledgeable about his stuff! I really enjoyed talking to him about his passion for selling and collecting records! It's a quaint little place and there's so much to look at. But everything is organized well with a wide variety of genres. The prices seemed pretty fair, with older/more worn records being as low as $10. It all depends on the artist, whether they're trending or not, etc. Maybe if you're claustrophobic this isn't the place for you, but I really liked it because it was smaller and not as overwhelming. You can just walk in, chill, and relax while browsing through records. I also appreciate the owner giving me this one record album I really liked as a thank you for the interview. That was really sweet, so thank you! My uncle lives just down the street from this place and he has been collecting records since he was a little kid. He's bought and traded stuff here before, but it's been awhile so we will both be back here soon.

Decor, clothing, books, pictures, frames, toys, War memorabilia, musical instruments, jewelry, records, furniture, hardware, tools, stickers, and maybe a few other tchotchkes. They have special events that occasionally take place over the weekend. There's a senior day. They welcome pets and even encouraged me to bring mine in! Maybe someday I'll bring one of mine for the "Bull in the China Shop" experience. They have a restaurant here too so you can dine prior your shopping experience. Or after. They also have small shopping carts, but honestly there's no need since occasionally staff will pass and ask you if you would like the items you're carrying taken up front. And it doesn't take much to get large items moved because staff is so helpful. On special event weekends it gets noticeably busy. Parking lot fills and aisles become a bit crowded, so come early. Holidays are especially appealing when vendors dress up their booths with seasonal decor, especially the vintage items. Almost every time I shop here I find something to bring home.

There is no "up and down." This place is a labyrinth designed by someone who said, "What if we hid Narnia behind every dresser?" I got lost at least three times. Possibly four. At one point I genuinely forgot: What I came for, which direction I entered... who I am as a person. Every time I thought I found the "main path," I'd turn a corner and BAM! secret pocket room. Hidden alcove. Side quest unlocked. Now, to be fair, if you are someone who enjoys treasure hunting, rummaging, discovering trinkets you didn't know you needed, and time traveling, this is your Disneyland. There is stuff. So much stuff. Trinkets. Bobbles. Whatnots, galore. Things your grandma had. Things your grandma refused to have. I went in looking for one very specific item. I did not find it. I did, however, find three existential moments and mild spatial disorientation. Did I have a good time? Yes. Did I leave with what I needed? No. Did I briefly consider dropping breadcrumbs to find my way out? Also yes. Three stars because it's impressive, chaotic, and an adventure... but if you go in with a mission, be prepared to lose it. Possibly along with your sense of direction. Would return. With a map.
