He was super nice and very knowledgeable about his stuff! I really enjoyed talking to him about his passion for selling and collecting records! It's a quaint little place and there's so much to look at. But everything is organized well with a wide variety of genres. The prices seemed pretty fair, with older/more worn records being as low as $10. It all depends on the artist, whether they're trending or not, etc. Maybe if you're claustrophobic this isn't the place for you, but I really liked it because it was smaller and not as overwhelming. You can just walk in, chill, and relax while browsing through records. I also appreciate the owner giving me this one record album I really liked as a thank you for the interview. That was really sweet, so thank you! My uncle lives just down the street from this place and he has been collecting records since he was a little kid. He's bought and traded stuff here before, but it's been awhile so we will both be back here soon.

In fact, I can usually find something to check off my ever-growing wish list--which is why I keep coming back. The catch? You're going to have to put in some serious time digging through the racks. The bagged-and-boarded comics are loosely organized by DC, Marvel, and Indie, with the individual titles generally alphabetized. They also have a section of bundles, which is always worth a look if you're hunting for complete runs. Unfortunately, nothing in the bundles made it onto my wish list this time. After spending a considerable amount of time working my way through the DC and Marvel sections, I wandered over to the magazine racks and discovered even more comics--some bagged and boarded, along with plenty of raw comics that were definitely in the low-grade, $1-bin neighborhood. The downside? This section appeared to have absolutely no organizational system. Consider it the comic-book equivalent of an archaeological dig. Bring patience. And possibly snacks. I also checked out the video game section to see if there were any must-haves hiding behind the glass. I found a few games in the locked cabinet, but some were priced about the same as buying a brand-new copy. I'm not really sure how that makes sense for a resale store. If I'm buying used, I'm expecting at least a little bit of a "used game" discount. Overall, Bookmans is worth checking out if you're hunting for comics, especially if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Don't expect everything to be perfectly organized or easy to find. Be prepared to spend some quality time flipping through racks, digging through the less-organized sections, and hoping the comic-book gods smile upon you. I didn't walk out with a massive haul, but I did find something worth adding to the collection--which makes the hunt worthwhile. Four stars for the potential, the selection, and those occasional hidden gems. ‍

I just left the Bookman's Store on Country Club and Southern, and I was abused and disrespected by…read moreone of their staff members. I was shopping, and waiting for my trade offer for some items I brought in. I asked to look at a Collector Comic Book that was locked in a case. I asked the staff member if I could take the book out and look a it because I wanted to make sure nothing was cut out of the comic. He immediately became defensive, and his attitude became hostile. I said "if there is anything cut out it's not worth $25 and I want to check. If I damage it while looking at it, I'll pay for it." His response wasn't helpful or understanding, it was pushy and abusive. "You should just get these while you see them. No one has these, and I've never seen one in our store since I've been here". I said "I have been collecting comics all of my life, and if there is anything cut out, it's not worth $10 to me". Again, instead of being friendly and asking anything helpful or asking questions, he was pushy and forceful, and became even more irritated when I pointed out the water damage on the back of the comic and told him I didn't want it. He was very unfriendly from the start. A toxic person, to be as kind as I can be. I received notice that my trade offer was ready, but I cancelled my trade offer, and walked out of the store with the items I had brought to trade. I WILL NEVER RETURN AS LONG AS THAT PERSON WORKS THERE. When I advised the staff of what happened, they seemed disinterested in doing anything. I asked them "how can you allow a person who treats customer this was to work here, and why would you want to work here if the business allows this?" They all looked at me with blank stares on their faces. A manager did talk to me, but it was the same attitude as the rude employee. He didn't introduce himself my name. He didn't try to find out the name of the employee. His attitude, like the rude staff member, was an attitude of not wanting to be there, an attitude of feeling irritated that they have to actually talk to a customer and assist them, an attitude of superiority and entitlement, an attitude that their customers do not matter to them and that they don't respect people in general. I advised their manager on duty that I work as a customer service consultant, and the employees treatment was unacceptable. He did offer complimentary credit, but did not indicate how much. I declined and told them honestly "I don't care if you pay me a Billion dollars in cash, I don't want it if that person works here. What he did was unacceptable and he should be fired". I am sure they won't do anything, and I want everyone to know that Bookman's is a TOXIC company who does not appreciate their customers, and they will screw you over and abuse you if you go there.

I recently bought a PSP from one Zia Records location that was labeled as "tested" and "working."…read moreBy the time I got home and tested it properly, the original store had already closed, so I went to another open Zia location nearby for help. After testing the PSP, I found that the analog stick and HOME button do not work at all. These are major controls, so the system clearly was not fully tested before being sold. When I explained the issue at the other location, I was only offered store credit or told I could keep it. I ask if it would be possible to do a partial refund or price adjustment since I was willing to repair it myself, but they refused. I also asked if I returned it, they would at least mark the PSP's price down they said no i also asked if they would label it as having joystick issues before reselling it, and I was told no. What frustrated me most was the attitude during the interaction. The employee was dismissive and laughed while talking to me instead of trying to help resolve the issue. I understand retro electronics can have problems sometimes, but if a console is sold as "tested" and "working," basic controls like the analog stick and HOME button should function properly. Then on another visit in another locked glass case there she sat.... This gorgeous Sweden " Strombergshyttan " crystal vase of a girl holding a bird cage, underneath the vase is signed & numbered. There's many little booths with different kick knacks for everyone I've been building my spooky jewelry collection little by little from terror trader. But now they've added an amazing new museum with tons of historical pieces. I've visited "haunted" museums with oddities that are a quick walk through and you feel scammed of your money but the new one at terror trader has not only oddities but real pieces of history from torture machines used in medieval times! It really is worth the money and if you spend $15 it's a free entrance which is an amazing deal! Everyone is super friendly in the store and will stop for a nice chat! I definitely recommend the visit.

A hidden gem, Terror Trader is such a unique place! I've…read morenever seen such a selection of horror themed items. Everything you can imagine, they've got... AND MORE! Imagine Spirit Halloween on steroids. The store is separated into different sections that are run by different vendors. They also have rooms in the back like the room of oddities with creepy antique dolls and other weird items. There is also a rotating photo set that people can take pictures on and use the props! This time around they had The Saw movie set and it looked exactly like the movie. So cool!! One of the vendors in the shop offered different themed and surprise boo buckets and I ended up purchasing one for a gift. I think the value for most of these items is fair and priced right. Melda was super cool and told me about all of the events they put on, including the movie night they host at the Pollack Cinemas. Everyone working was really nice and friendly. I cannot wait to come back!
