The hostess was very impressive. There were a ton of customers being rude to her and she continued to be polite and patient. She was more of an adult than most of the adults who were being mean to her. (She was a teenager) The food was wonderful and our experience was great with family that was here from out of town! read more

Hibachi is one of my husband's favorites, so we thought we would try this since it was close to home. Disappointing is the best way to describe it. The soup was blah tasting and had pasta shells (?) in the bottom. The salad dressing was ok,but not as gingery as it could have been. I had steak and shrimp, hubby had filet and chicken. (Side note-this is the first hibachi we have ever encountered that comes with steamed rice and you have to pay extra for fried rice.) Entrees and fried rice were good enough, but not outstanding. Now to the service. Our waiter talked like a wanna be surfer dude, and seemed to have none too firm a grasp on what his job entails. He disappeared for long periods of time. We ordered a fried dumpling appetizer which never came (not on the bill either-pretty sure he never put in the order.) Two other parties at our table ordered sushi, one as an app, one as her meal. The appetizer came out after the party had almost finished dinner, and the poor lady who had ordered sushi as an entree never got it. When this was brought to surfer dude's attention, he acted like there was nothing he could do about it, the sushi bar was backed up. "I don't know what happened" is the most he can offer. No manager ever came to the table. Seriously bad service, mediocre to adequate food. We won't be back. read more

Despite reading the bad reviews, we went anyway at 11:30 on a Sunday. And then we truly understand these bad reviews. Expensive. Bad service. Horrendous music. Bland food. We came in and there was barely anyone there, we stood there waiting for a while until 1 of only 2 servers working seated us. First off, the music playing was strictly from early mid 2000s, mostly rap & hip-hop. It took our server almost 10 minutes to even greet us at the table and to get our drink orders. My boyfriend had ordered sweet tea, and he did get it, but she refilled it later with unsweet. We'd picked out our orders, but little did we know that you client order LUNCH during LUNCH time on Sundays, only dinner. So went from ordering $15 meals to $25 meals. We told her we weren't ready to order if that was the case. I ordered chicken & veg fried rice. You'd expect the rice, chicken, and veggies to be fried together? Nope. They steam the veggies and just stick them over the rice and chicken, leaving them soft and flavorless. Also wasn't expecting mushrooms in this dish. I could've made better myself. We won't be returning. read more

Make the extra drive north. Bottom 1/3 of any hitachi I've had. Came a second time to try and get sushi with the family. They lost my sushi order ticket. Really not worth visiting. read more

This place is terrible....customer service is nonexistent, sushi is embarrassingly bad. Hibachi is on par but then again it's hibachi, kind of hard to mess that up. Tables were filthy, we spent half our dinner herding our plates and drinks around the table due to how out of level it was. The manager was our server, I passed a rubber plant on the way to our table with more personality... did I mention how bad the sushi was? I think the sherbet was the best part. Won't be back...$$$$$81 for two sushi rolls, one children's hibachi and one steak hibachi, two drinks and a small sake(footwash).... read more

We went to Asuka for dinner tonight for Hibachi. I had the Filet Mignon and my wife had the Hibachi Chicken. Our experience was very good. The food was delicious, for the most part. The steak and chicken were great, as was the fried rice. The vegetables were okay, with an abundance of onions. The salad, for me, was the greatest letdown. The ginger dressing had a funny taste, like it was Italian dressing with ginger added, instead of a genuine ginger dressing. Overall, this was a great experience and expect to return soon! read more

Asuka is apparently great for groups. Haven't done that yet but there is a good funny waiter named "Baba San" who is supposed to be the most entertaining for the hibachi. If hibachi is not your style, there is a small sushi bar seating area and plenty of booths as well. I had the sushi/8 pc. nigiri combo dinner, $14, comes with miso and salad, all well appointed. My girlfriend had the glazed chicken, which was well-textured with chewy soft center and crisp exterior. The sauce on the chicken was very sweet and the wreath of steamed broccoli was a welcome cleanser. That dish is about $12 and includes steamed rice. The portions are Spring Hill sized, so don't worry about ordering extras. We finished with green tea ice cream. It came with two nice spherical scoops and had a very creamy/buttery taste. read more

I've read some other reviews and agree to an extent. Here's the deal, if you want a "better" hibachi or sushi, you can drive to Nashville and goto Kobe or Goten...or Cool Springs and eat at Omikoshi or Shogun. Calling a spade, a spade, Asuka is a fun Hibachi for kids. Is the food 5star, no...but, where in Spring Hill is? I contend that if you're going to a hibachi, then part of what you're paying for is to be entertained. The gentlemen we've had each time have made the kiddos smile...and the adults. If Asuka was in Nashville or Cool Springs, it would be a 3 star....but it isn't. It is Spring Hill's only restaurant of its kind and is an enjoyable place with decent food and attentive service...4 star in Spring Hill. read more

Great food and wonderful service! Just found out new favorite sushi restaurant and the prices are very reasonable! Five Sushi rolls for under $35! Great deal! And very tasty! read more

We like going here, I'm not sure why other than it is somewhat close to our house. They don't have the best Sushi and hibachi in town. Their prices are a bit high without a coupon. Service isn't great. It's like Denny's, You end up there and you're not sure why. When you leave you're not upset that you went, you're just not sure you would come back. Then you end up eating there again so it can't be all that bad. read more

If you order takeout make sure to check your order before you leave. Open each box because now we're on three times that they have not given us but we have asked for and we probably are not going back again even though the food is fantastic. When I went back to the restaurant to ask about the rest of my order they argued with me that they had put everything in like they knew exactly what they did and I was missing several pieces that I had paid for.. read more

Love love love this place!!! It is like you teleported to Japan to eat! Great people great food clean place! It's worth going!!!

Love this place. Sushi is awesome and service is always top rate. The Hibachi chefs are genuinely a lot of fun.

First time at Asuka after looking for nearby Hibachi options. Friendly staff and relatively quick seating for my family (you can choose regular booth seating or Hibachi table). The Chef (Robin I believe) was very entertaining for the kids during the preparation and performed a number of tricks with the utensils/ingredients. The food was cooked to order, drinks were promptly refilled and everyone left satisfied. Basically just what we were looking for in a Hibachi restaurant. read more

I have a rule; if you seat me at a table, it should be clean. Especially if I'm the first person to sit there for the day. Went here one Sunday for lunch and they seated us at a hibachi table that had not been cleaned well the night before. We looked at the table next to us, and it was just as poorly cleaned. So while my companions dined on food cooked on the not-really-that-clean hibachi table, I ordered sushi. It was fine; I wasn't expecting anything great in Spring Hill, and I certainly didn't get it. I know where to find good sushi, and I know it's not Spring Hill, TN. read more

Best Japanese food around! Especially the filet mignon and chicken!

Great place to bring the kids! They have a great staff and both hibachi and sushi are excellent. It's a nice bonus to always have leftovers to eat the next day. And, perhaps most importantly, they have "yum yum" sauce...great for dipping and for salads. We always get yum yum on the salad. One thing they could do better is the miso soup but everything else is awesome. read more

It was our first time dining here we brought a friend with us the prices were reasonable the place was nice but halfway through dinner I saw a cockroach! I tried to knock it off the table then I saw a second one I lost my appetite and felt embarrassed and didn't say anything to my husband or our guest. You know if you see one roach there are more where those came from! read more

Best sushi in Spring hill and best vegitarian options.

If you don't want to be open, then don't but if you are don't make people look for you to be seated and then have to ask to order. I've been sitting at the bar for 10 min and no one has shown their face. #DontOpenChristmasIfYouDontWantToWork read more

Great food. Decent service, if you go try and get a personal grill. Its much more fun when you do

I WISH I COULD THEM -5 stars. I had the worst experience. Me and my family walked in tonight and wanted amongst about 15 other people none of us were ever greeted or Acknowledged after ten minutes of standing around I saw a server and walked up to her saying we had not seen anyone since we arrived. She said she would go and grab someone, we waited another 5 min and someone walked up to the host stand but picked something up and never said a word to anyone standing around. We ended up leaving shortly after and called to speak to a manager. I called several times before someone picked up and I was hung up on about 6 times and 2 of them the manager hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE JUST BC OF THE DISRESPECT OF THE MANAGER HAD TOWARDS ME. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! read more

The chef was great! He was hilarious and one of the best we've had at a hibachi. The chicken was very good and the yum yum sauce had a little kick that was really good. The problem we had was when it was time to get the bill no one was coming with the check. We waited forever for the bill but it never came. After about 30 minutes of waiting we got up to ask for the check and it didn't come, again we went to find someone for the check and it came but we were told by the waitress that the card system wasn't working. This is an issue that I know is out of their control but nobody came and told us. They just avoided us and hoped we didn't complain. I again got up and told our waitress that we needed to leave and she couldn't help us. We went to the manager and she acknowledged they had a problem but then walked away from me. I understand that there's a problem but the manager wasn't trying to rectify it. She was just working like normal. If it were me I'd be on the phone with the company running the POS trying to fix the problem. They had a full restaurant and no way for anyone to pay with a card. In conclusion, I would've been fine if they had come and said they were having a problem and had a solution to it but the fact that we were avoided over and over and spent more than 2.5 hours there waiting really turned us off. Salad was not good (too much tang or mustard) chef was great, food was good but service doesn't seem to be a focal point for them. read more

Had not been her in awhile but the service and food was GREAT! We ordered hibachi but ate in the dining area for a quieter, more cozy ambience. We had filet mignon and chicken. Seasoned perfectly and the steak melted in my mouth. They sent out 2 complimentary shrimp as well with an amazing seafood sauce to try. Will definitely come back again soon and bring friends! read more

I've been a repeat Asuka customer since it opened. The sushi is excellent & the Hibachi is amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for date night or just casual dining. As with most Japanese steakhouses the price can be on the high side of moderate but if you get there for lunch or sushi happy hour you can save a few bucks. Our typical bill is $40 for three people with tip and no bar drinks. They do offer mixed drinks, beer and an adequate selection of wines if that's your thing. We typically sit in the general dining area, but if you're looking to entertain a group, the hibachi tables are the ticket! read more

Great hibachi food for a decent price. You can't go wrong with the chicken, steak or shrimp. Do yourself a favor and get a double order of the seafood sauce. read more

There are some things this restaurant needs to improve on (like the menu, prices and atmosphere) but the agedashi is amazing. This place just screams Chinese buffet, when it's supposed to be a Japanese restaurant. read more

The food was fine. Service was way below par. There is no reason on the planet that I should have to wait 20 minutes after I've been sat to get my cocktail. Unfortunately I live in spring hill now and my son loves sushi so I will have to return read more

If you are going to charge $50 for a meal worth $20, the least you could do is put a modicum of effort into making your staff appear they give a darn. From the scowling "hostess" who flopped two menus down on the table and mumbled something (could you maybe fake a smile since we are there to spend money), to the stacks of rolled up napkins, plastic bags , styrofoam take-out containers pilled at one end of the Sushi bar, across from where we were seated, the place unfortunately screamed "we've given up". Or perhaps it is the clientele of Spring Hill who don't care, IDK. Three different servers attempted to take our order which was confusing. Also, here's a tip to the servers, when a menu falls on the floor from the giant pile stacked at the other end of the sushi bar, you might consider wiping it off since it will be placed on someone's table. The food was marginal at best and that's being kind. We left regretful and in as bad of a mood as the hostess who seated us. read more

I just left Askua. The owner was completely rude. I've been a loyal customer since they opened. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating, and the food is good. The owner needs to realize why he's still open. Note to him: don't be hateful to customers who has supported your locally owned business. read more

kinda expensive but that's just the price you pay for food that will make you weep tears of joy I guess.

1st experience we had was with the hibachi and sushi...both were lacking flavor and freshness; overall one of the worst hibachi experiences yet. Decided to try again but this time we went for open menu...ordered lo mien and some kind of shrimp house special....we literally didn't eat more than a few bites of either entree and we definitely didn't take home the left overs. Bottom line...if you don't know what good hibachi should taste like...it might be worth the over priced expense. We will not be going back...ever. read more

This used to be mine and my husbands' date night spot. In the last few (3-4) times we have went the server forgot our soup and salads. Since we are only two we get scooted off to the side that's not a good view of the few measly tricks. The servings have became smaller and smaller. The worst part is when the sherbet came it was frostbit from being pre-scooped with a side of a gnat. read more

I cannot begin to speak of the level of disappointment I have regarding Asuka. This place used to care, it was the best option/value for hibachi for miles (it's 23 miles from my house!). Now it reeks of the tell tale signs of a dying business...short-staffed; slow, complacent servers; dirty dishes all over the place; and not one staff member seems to care. This episode begins with a 13 minute wait at the door before being greeted (the only reason we stayed is because we didn't want to hear it from our six year old). After being greeted and seated (open hibachi tables abound!), add another 16 minutes before our drink order was taken. Our flattop grill was dirty from previous use (wth?). Another 9 minutes and we got to order our standard filet/chicken/extra fried rice; this is the reason we come--the food is usually top notch. In the infinite chasm of 23 minutes more before the chef arrived, I had already decided this was my last visit. Soup-fairly good; salad-nothing special; rice and vegetables-good; filet/chicken-very good. So as expected, the food was good overall, but we spent $80, spent an hour and thirty minutes, and felt ignored the entire time we were there. There are plenty of ways to blow money and time, going forward Asuka won't be one of them. If you like being ignored, then this place is for you! read more

My friend and I went to Asuka tonight, Friday, at 6 p.m. and were sat immediately. Our drink order and dinner order were taken promptly. We received our drinks and salads and then we waited. We continued to wait, and wait, and wait. Our glasses became empty and finally the chef arrived. He was entertaining and the food was good. We ordered the filet and chicken. Both were cooked perfectly but the vegetables were too salty. The portion size was plenty. After he left we waited some more. The couple next to us was in great need of a refill. They asked several passing servers to no avail. We watched as the manager/head of the dining room took her time setting places at two of the Hibachi tables ignoring our cries for attention. Eventually a waiter showed up with a pitiful scoop of melted ice cream that neither of us ate. We went to the front were the hostess ignored us. We finally stood in her way saying we wanted to pay so we could leave. We had been there almost two hours!!! She acted very annoyed that we wanted her assistance since she informed us that "that isn't what 'I' do". We were finally allowed to pay and left. I don't think I will go back. The dinner was good but not worth the hassle or the wait. If you go take a book as you will have plenty of time to read while you wait. read more
