Like à la croix version of broth. Just a whisper of flavor. The beef itself was also bland and kinda tasted like 4 day old steak strips. For $17 and 6 tiny strips of beef I expected a lot more. Our server was also not competent. Besides our own "service" from him, he also let a table walk out before they could even order bc he took over 10 min after greeting them to do....well, nothing bc they were annoyed and left. Also 2 tables had to walk up to him at the POS system to get their check. We paid for everything but as a girl who loves food and was in the food/beverage industry for 8+ years this was beyond disappointing.

Had the chicken teriyaki bento bowl and my wife had the kids chicken teriyaki bowl. In the bento box the tempura and California roll were delicious. The chicken breast pieces for the bento box and bowl were cooked fine but I think the meat was boiled or baked and then the teriyaki sauce was added before serving. It would be great if the meat had been marinated in teriyaki sauce and then grilled. But that seems very hard to find here in Franklin. Service was great and the place is very clean.

Unfortunately, what should have been a great experience turned into a very uncomfortable one. The gentleman who took our order was extremely rude from the start and made us feel unwelcome and clearly unwilling to respond to our questions about the menu. We initially gave the benefit of the doubt, assuming it might be a cultural misunderstanding. However, things only got worse. After we sat down, he never brought us water while consistently serving other tables. At one point, he even prepared a full table setting--with water and food--for a reservation that hadn't yet arrived, while we continued to sit there unattended. After nearly 30 minutes of awkward waiting, we were finally given water. What made the situation more concerning was the clear difference in how we(Caucasian Americans) were treated compared to other customers. He was warm, kind, and engaging with others--particularly those who appeared to share his background--but would not acknowledge or engage with us at all. The atmosphere became so uncomfortable that I made the decision to leave for the sake of my daughters. As a father, it was clear they felt unwelcome, and that was not something I was willing to tolerate. I left without asking for a refund due to what seemed to be hostility. We've had many wonderful experiences at Asian restaurants, but our experience at Daylight Sushi was deeply disappointing. We did not feel welcomed, and unfortunately, we were treated in a way that made that very clear. Wish this was not the case and hopefully this was a major misunderstanding!

I had no idea this place existed so close to the Publix I visit weekly. Our server is very friendly and helpful; he recommended several dishes to me during my first visit. My absolute favorite is the wagyu nigiri style. The wagyu is perfectly seared and has an umami flavor. The salmon belly nigiri is fantastic too. The crunchy garlic on both nigiri is definitely a plus for me. You can't go wrong with spicy tuna rice; I haven't had a bad one anywhere. I can certainly use more serrano on it for the extra kick. It still lists for $3.25 on the menu, and they bring out the equivalent of one piece of chopped lettuce in a condiment size bowl! Total rip off! It was already a very small portion, and now, not even enough to wet your whistle! Fulin's should be ashamed to serve the mini cup size and not even lower the price! I will NOT support such a poor move on their part and purchase the salad again, unless they go back to the original size or lower the price a couple of dollars for the amount they served me today! There are similar places around, where I can still pay the same price I used to and get what is actually called a "salad." I refuse to pay for one piece of lettuce, and I question whether it was a whole piece, at that! Plus, they didn't even fill the measly bowl. Wish I could still give a 4 star rating, but quantity has gone down. Some of you may say, it's just a freaking salad.
