Since they came out a month ago, the washer spring has fallen out twice. They charged me $30 to come out the first time (three days after they were last out and charged me full price) and now are saying it will cost $750 for them to replace the spring. I can buy a whole new washer for less than that. Again, strongly recommend going with a company that will actually resolve your issues and stand by the quality of their work. Update: I am also happy to clarify the situation in response to Astera's response. Over the last six months, I have paid this company over $500 to handle repairs, $425 of which were for issues that were not resolved by the company and still remain today or that I have had to pay someone else to resolve. I was only told about the potential need to spend $750 to replace the part after paying for each of these repairs. That is not a resolution, nor would I consider it quality work. read more

I submitted a request for quote via Yelp because our refrigerator was not cooling appropriately. We noticed that ice was accumulating on the vent behind the drawers of our French door KitchenAid refrigerator. After submitting the quote, I received a response from Astera within 10 minutes. The diagnostic price was reasonable and went toward the repair fee, if we used them, so I scheduled a same day appt. They arrived early for the appointment window by about 30 minutes, which worked fine for me (way better than waiting for them to arrive at the end of a 3 hour window). It took about 45 minutes for him to fully diagnose the problem (there was a lot of accumulated ice) and provide a quote. The quote was also reasonable. The guy who came to my house was respectful and helpful in explaining the problem. There's a stigma, at some capacity, that people in HVAC aren't the easiest to work with and pricing is all over the place. Astera, specifically Steve and Lex, put those stigmas to bed for me. My oven stopped working after running the self-clean option, so I reached out to Steve for assistance. He was able to come out a couple days later to do a diagnostic check and noticed that the heating fuse had gone out. Upon replacement, the oven is back in tip-top condition! The service provided was excellent and we're very pleased with the quick turnaround on the fix. Steve was transparent about the times he would show up and would call as well when he was on his way. We needed the Draft Inducer Motor replaced in our Carrier furnace. They got the part needed within a day and sent super Technician Val to put it in. They looked up and honored our Carrier furnace warrany saving us $351 for the part and only charged $280 for the install. ARS/Roto Rooter quoted $1150 for the install only. Val arrived within 2 minutes of his ETA to repair. ARS/Roto Rooter had us waiting for 6 hours for their outrageous quote. We will be calling Astera from now on for our HVAC needs. read more

I was able to get somebody out here in less than 24 hours to look at my refrigerator. Special shout out to Roman for doing an exceptional job! It all started with a project as simple as replacing the bathroom exhaust fan. I bought a new exhaust fan but had trouble detaching the old one, so I had to call for help. I contacted Astera via Yelp message and got a response within a few minutes, even though it was a Sunday! They had a straightforward labor fee for replacing the fan, so I set an appointment for the next day. But when I went up the attic, I found that there were some modifications that needed to be done with how the exhaust fan was connected to the roof vent. I also wanted to completely remove another broken exhaust fan from the second bathroom. I got a message from Astera company the next day saying that they would be able to come earlier than the scheduled time. I was happy to hear it since I had another plan that evening. Roman arrived at the expected time, and I explained the complexity of the project. He understood and knew exactly what to do. When I asked him if he did drywalls, he said he did! He also had experience with electrical projects, so he accepted my request to replace the light switch for the exhaust fan. Although each additional request cost more on top of the initial labor fee, the price was competitive, and I could trust Roman, seeing his quality of work and speed. I later canceled the switch replacement, but again, his skills and quality of work were above and beyond my expectations. It took him about 1.5 hours to complete everything. After he was done, he took photos and video of his work on the attic, which was super convenient. He also cleaned up very nicely after he was done with his work. I would give him six stars if that were an option! I recommend Astera to those looking to replace bathroom exhaust fans, any electrical parts in the home, or any other house projects! read more

Asteria Heating, Cooling and Appliance Repair was recommended through the Bosch robot for dishwasher repair. When you call the Bosch support center, the call is handled through a web site until you call the 800 number. The call is then forwarded to a local repair center. Astera was very responsive, and their customer support was top notch, even on weekends when they were closed. The technician was very timely in getting to the house, was knowledgeable, and able to communicate about the issue and provide options, but not pricing. I definitely would consult them first with any other appliance issues. My only complaint was the service cost. After the diagnosis was complete and the tech knew the part to be replaced, I requested an approximate estimate to complete the repair to determine if I should repair or replace the dishwasher. The technician was able to quote $80 for the part, but not labor. Upon completion I was billed $319 for parts and labor. I felt $319.00 was a bit much for two truck rolls to change out a filter. The cost breakdown was: $ 75.00 for the initial visit to diagnose the problem (as stated on web site) $ 80.00 quoted for part ($29 on Bosch site + 63.75% margin) $164.00 for 2nd trip to deliver part and repair the unit, which was 20 min max, because technician was that good. I would easily give them 5 stars to Astera if the repair cost was more reasonable. But now you know. read more

I had this company come in to service my A/C, after 3 visits, $1750.00, lots of lies, I finally accepted we got scammed. This company doesn't know what they're doing. They did not fix my A/C as a result I had my home be 90 degrees INSIDE, until I was able to bring in a real A/C company that knows what their doing. It was one visit everything's been better since. 11/24/23 I contacted Astera through Yelp. Valentina contacted me on-line and called me back within 5 minutes. We set up an appointment for a tech to check my lemon Samsung refrigerator which once again stopped cooling due to the fan icing up. It was well worth the $80 fee to have them come out to my home confirm the problem and diagnose. Steve A explained several possible solutions and the repair costs.
