A few weeks ago I had Excel come out and replace an angle stop that would not cut off the water supply to my toilet. The guy was friendly, professional, and I felt the $120 to do so wasn't unreasonable and was overall very satisfied with the experience. This week I had found an angle stop for my sink that was leaking, so I called Excel back. This time the guy quotes me $320 and acts surprised when I tell him they had just come out a week earlier for an identical job and inconvenienced that he had to go back to his truck to call the office and see if he can do it for the same price. He comes back and replaced the angle stop for 120 but left a pan I placed under the valve to catch the leak water completely full of water from his work as well as water all over the floor and vanity. On the plus side, the angle stop seems to work without leaking. Later that day we ran out of hot water and we found that the knob that controls the gas was turned from "ON" to "Pilot". I'm assuming he did this for safety and not as some ploy to get me to call back for service and just forgot to turn it back on. Excel seems to vary in customer experience based on which plumber you get. The first guy I was happy with and would recommend, which is why I called them the second time. The second plumber left a sleazy taste and I would not recommend. If you could pick your actual plumber I might use them again. read more

Awesome Plumbing! Hey there. Just wanted to share an awesome contractor with you. Hands down Excel Plumbing the best contractor I've ever worked with. I've had some sewer gas smell and line draining troubles. But, just after one and the first phone call, talking to Tanya the first visit appointment was arranged immediately. The first time Excel Plumbing specialist Egor (camera check-out) came by within my expected timeline, the sewer issue report was ready. Egor was on the phone with Tanya all the time to report recommendations need to be done. The work order was prepared same day. In one day the Excel Plumbing crew leaded by Foreman Alex, excavate the ground and install new cleanout line that drains into the pond, backfill the hole that was excavated and level it. After all was finished, they came back in couple of days and graded the settled ground. Excel Plumbing crew as: Egor and Alex Carlos and Vitali, Freddy and Gary were prompt and professional, very courteous, informative with lots of high-tech gears. Excel Plumbing installed a faucet and garbage disposer in our kitchen sink in 2015. Somehow the plumber had gotten a very top of the line faucet at closeout for a modest price. It had a very long neck and a pull down nozzle. It's now 2019 and my wife and I have managed to destroy the faucet which is gushing water into the area below the sink. We called Excel, who had a record of their service and sent Carlos to install a new faucet. Carlos came promptly and showed us a veriety of faucets that fit our budget. A faucet like ours was now well outside our budget. When Carlos returned with a faucet we could afford it didn't look as good as the broken faucet it was replaceing and was not a pull down. Carlos noticed our disappointment and left to try and find a faucet more like the one he was replaceing. He returned with a faucet just like ours and said he'd install it for just a little more than the least expensive one. He quickly and efficiently installed the faucet, which makes us comfortable as it replicates the one we are used to using. Workers very often take advantage of elderly people. We had one of those semi-horror story plumbing issues...I will spare you the elaborate details but the short version is about a week before the "big" event we had a small back-up and minor overflow in our powder room toilet. Alex came out and found that our sewer pipe had almost completely collapsed on the other side of our foundation. We got a quote from Excel within 48 hours to excavate and repair the pipe. He cleaned out what he could but said that we needed to repair this really quickly. That said, toilets were flushing and everything seemed to be fine. I am in the construction business and wanted to get together with a colleague of mine to get his perspective and maybe use some of his people for the fix but he was out of the country for another 2 weeks. Well a week later, on my birthday, my wife called me saying water was flooding everywhere. Long story short, it fully collapsed. It was a disaster. I gave Excel the go-ahead on that Saturday. They were able to start first thing Monday and had the repair done that day. Their entire team was phenomenal. I will be recommending them to family and friends. These guys are the best! The These guys quoted me the best price, they were not the cheapest and not the most expensive, though they sure could have charged it! I am 100% satisfied and would use them for all my plumbing needs. The quality of work, the punctuality, the professionalism is what sets this company apart. I needed a new water heater since mine was making all sorts of noise, I called these guys and they quoted me over the phone. From the start of the call the rep was very courteous and helpful. He explained all of my options for a new heater, and what was the difference between a tankless and tank. He was extremely knowledgable and helpful in helping me pick the right model size, and type for my home. From shopping around at the local hardware stores and online these guys gave the best deal. The instal was ontime they showed up, laid out several tarps and got all the work done quick and flawless, as if they never came! I called Excel Plumbing this morning seeking help with a huge problem. My toilet got clogged, and the water was overflowing. The customer service representative was very friendly on the phone, and she reassured me that a plumber will come to my apartment within 30-40 minutes. The gentleman named Mark arrived promptly and looked at the toilet. He immediately knew what the problem was. He told me that the cost for unclogging the toilet will be $150 with the promotions they had. I explained to Mark that $150 is out of my price range, and that a friend of mine, who is not a licensed plumber, could do it later for $20. I told Mark that I will pay the fee of $29 and wait for my friend. Mark took the payment, but to my utmost surprise and joy, he said that he will unclog the toilet for me. Excel came out in a timely manner for an initial quote, performed by Ronnie, who informed us on pricing for a kitchen sink faucet replacement and water heater replacement. He advised us not to proceed with an under-sink water filtration system installation which would have consumed all the cabinet space and also would have been prohibitively expensive. The actual installation services were completed by Robert and his apprentice. Everything went relatively great and according to schedule. We had one mishap where even with the condo building's main supply being shut off, water was running fast out of a pipe into our water heater closet due to outdated plumbing (very old building). Robert and his apprentice sprang to action and were able to problem solve quickly. I don't have prior experience with using professional plumbing services, but this encounter seems to have gone very well. John showed up promptly at 9:00 am. He was very polite and listened to my explanation of what I thought the problem was and let him know that we thought we had a leaking pipe somewhere between the upstairs bathroom and the kitchen ceiling downstairs where the water was coming through. He was conservative in the amount of drywall in the ceiling that he removed. He was also very mindful of our home. He put on shoe covers and laid down a plastic tarp, removed the ceiling drywall and performed the investigation. He systematically ruled out a leaking pipe or valve or joint and performed troubleshooting scenarios until we could get water to actually come through. We attempted to replace a leaking faucet but we simply could not do it because of the stubborn old faucet which refused to detach from the sink. And it was close to New Year eve and we really needed the kitchen. I found Excel Plumbing in Yelp with high rating so I called early in the morning and Mark show up around 11 am. Mark is knowledgeable and experience. He gave us clear explanation of the work and cost and we asked him to go ahead with the work. He got it done in no time! He also cleaned things up afterward. Not to mention he wore shoe covers to prevent dirty the floor. After the work, Mark took a look of the old water heater and gave us a couple of options and the costs. Fantastic overall experience. Brian was very thorough and reassuring during his visit, explaining what we were looking at, why certain things might be an issue and what our options are. Our primary concern was a running toilet which he recommended we could fix ourselves for much cheaper and advised us on what to expect. Super helpful considering we are first time homeowners. Then we had a concern about odd gurgling in a sink which led to learning about the mis-mash of our basement pipes. We already knew a previous owner had messed up the bathroom's plumbing but we didn't know about the basement and possible risk our set up poses. I just had Excel plumbing out to fix my sump pumps that had gone out. I was really frustrated because we just installed new sump pumps a little over year ago with a different company, who wouldn't deal with our issue because we were just past warranty. It was after hours when I called and they sent two really knowledgable, professional technicians to my home - George and David. They were able to quickly identify that the real cause of the problem was a blockage in my pipes that needed to be addressed or else any new sump pumps I installed would ultimately fail. They took care of the problem quickly and only charged what I needed service for (one of my pumps was workable). I really appreciated their honesty, expertise and courteousness. Just had the best experience with Excel Plumbing. Woke up to water coming up from drains in the mudroom. Called Excel Plumbing and they were able to send someone over in half an hour. Luke was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it within the hour. The price was very reasonable. This company has very high standards and makes sure that their employees meet them. This might be trivial, but I told Luke that he doesn't have to take his shoes off and his response was, "Thank you, but per our company rules, we all take our shoes off." Very helpful, quick, and, efficient!!! I had an emergency situation, my basement was flooding and a very bad smell was coming out of there. I have two small children, so the issue needed to be taken care of right away. I called a local plumber and they came out, gave me a price but said that they can't start the job right away because they don't have enough resources at the moment, then I found Excel Plumbing on-line. Their plumber came out right away, found the source of the problem and called his excavation crew and repaired our main sewer pipe outside of the house by the foundation.
