Brad replacing leaky valves.
Chongjun K.

Brad is a great person to work with and provides straightforward/fixed pricing - no surprise cost at the end! This is the second time I got his help, which was replacing two leaky valves for the washer. The first time was back in 2021 when I got my water heater replaced. I would say his pricing was fair, and the process went very smoothly both times. I called SBJ Plumbing for an estimate on replacing the hot and cold water pipe valves because they were leaking when turned off. It was not urgent, but I planned to replace the washer in the coming weeks, so fixing the leaky valves was a no-brainer. I got on the phone with Brad, and he asked me to send him a photo of the valves. After a few minutes, he texted me the estimated cost. I confirmed the price and called him the next day to schedule his visit. On the day of arrival, Brad texted me asking if he could arrive a few minutes earlier, which worked better for me, so I confirmed, and he arrived just in time. It only took a few minutes for him to figure out how to proceed. He did have to take a few trips to Menards to get the right parts, but it took him just over an hour to complete his work from start to finish. He cleaned up nicely afterward and explained what he did to fix the issue. I was able to pay the exact initial estimated price via Zelle, and it was a simple and smooth process overall. Brad is an awesome, down-to-earth person to work with, and I would definitely recommend SBJ Plumbing to anyone looking to replace their water heaters or get their valves replaced!

For some reason, this posted as a new account, even though I have been using Yelp for 10 years. Ugh.

Before I begin, I would like to say S and J is an honorable company…read more We are a retired couple, so the days of being handy and fixing things around the house are gone. We were experiencing a sewer smell every time we showered. Called S and J and they came out and diagnosed the problem as back up in our sewer line. The technician was very honest about the work that had to be performed. He had rodding equipment in his truck that would reach the street sewer. He could try it then or I could make an appointment to have the problem "hydro jetted". Because of the amount of backup, he couldn't guarantee that the work he would do could be done or if he would be just mixing the backup. I obviously opted for the hydro jetting. S and J came out and did the hydro jetting and cleared it out in about 4 hours. In doing so, they pulled out wipes that were in there from the previous owners. In the interim, I signed up for their maintenance plan. This cost was $19.99 month. It consists of 3 visits, one is making sure our sewer lines are clear, two is checking our hot water heater to make sure that its working properly and three is checking our sump pump. This is the honorable part...Paul came out to check our sewer line and was distressed to see that the original person did not clear out all the tree roots. He looked at the video that the original person did not do a good job. He told me to make an appointment for another hydro jetting and it would be on them. The plumber asked if I had the old sink to see how that was installed, after much huffing and puffing about how complex this was. It's a sink for goodness sake that just needs to be connected. He gave me a quote that was three times what I expected, and wouldn't tell me how many hours at what rate that was based on. "We don't have hourly rates, we quote per job. This had to be the strangest interaction with any service provider I've had. Didn't seem to know what he was doing and then provided a ridiculous quote with no explanation. When it comes to messing with gas in my home I have a no hands policy. I called Green Tech to schedule an appointment and left a VM around 6:15. At 6:45 I got a call back. The tech was calling me from his mobile while driving into the office. He literally walked me through what I had to do. "Have you ever lit a gas BBQ? Same concept." Did as he instructed and BAM, we are back in business. Green Tech could have come out and charged me an hourly, which I was willing to pay for, but instead taught an old man a new skill. This is not the first time they have walked me through an issue, hence why I call them for anything plumbing related. Can't recommend Green Tech enough.

I've found it increasingly difficult to find service companies that are knowledgeable in their field, responsive, honest and provide excellent customer service. Not only did Green Tech Plumbing check all these boxes, but they also offer fair pricing. A unicorn of a business. After being overcharged and underwhelmed by our previous plumber, I was on the hunt for a capable plumber to install a whole house water filtration system. From the moment I reached out to Green Tech Plumbing, they were nothing but responsive and helpful. I purchased the filtration system from a vendor, yet Kevin willingly answered all my questions (promptly!) about the system. He even pointed out that one of the options had expensive filters that would need to be changed frequently saving me hundreds of dollars in filters. What a gem! Kevin came out to look at how the system could be installed in our space and talked to me through how the system would work and answered all my questions. He then provided a fair quote. Once our system was delivered, I emailed to set up the installation. His team came out the following week for the installation. The tech Kevin sent was just as helpful! He moved the 100-pound tank from the garage to the basement, which wasn't part of their scope. The tech had to make a run to the hardware store to buy connection pieces that weren't included with system, but he knew exactly what to buy and did so in a timely manner. The install was speedy and flawless. The tech was even willing to stay while I called the vendor's water filtration system customer service expert to walk us through the start up process. On top of this great experience, I wrote a check for the incorrect amount and Kevin responded right away saying he would swing by and drop a check in our mailbox for the overpayment. Unreal! This is how you run a company!

Darren came out and gave us an estimate to replace the pump. One of his employees came back and replaced the pump that was burned out and this is where the issue comes in. The person that was working on our pump unplugged the sewage ejector pump for some reason and left it unplugged after they were done. As we have used Darren in the past we fully trusted his company to do a great job and they have until this time. It was a week later were I was downstairs doing laundry and found that where was water coming up from the floor drain and it was all over the floor and leaking under the baseboards to the room next to the laundry room into the carpet and into our bathroom as well. I reached out to Darren and explained what was going on and he asked me if I could take pictures and text them to him....right there was a RED FLAG....a customer calls you and tells you there is a problem with work done as their house and instead of coming in person to see, he asked for pictures. So I take the pictures and send them to him and he responds that he will have to see if he wanted to go through his insurance and that it did not look like it would be more then his deductible, also get a quote for the damages. After sending him the quote I do not hear from him in a couple of weeks, then he responds that he had some health issues and that he was in the hospital, mind you this is in the beginning of January. I wait until the end of the month to follow up with him and he stated that he was just getting out of the hospital and he has a long road to recovery and to bear with him a little longer. I apologized to him and asked if there was someone in the office to take care of the matter and he never responded to me after that. In March I texted him again asking if he was doing well and were we stood on fixing the basement...he never responded and after several attempts trying to contacting him he finally responded in may stating that he is finally getting back to work and needs to catch up and to give him a week or so and he will get back to me. A week later I reached out to him again asking for an update and he stated that he was going to visit his daughter in Wisconsin and to follow up with him next week!!!! A week later I reached out again and asked how it was going and his response was slow! This is now the end of May so I waited until the middle of June to reach out to Darren and to my surprise he was back in the hospital. Its now the end of June and I reach out to him again asking for an update and told him this has been long enough please but the issue to bed. Darren does respond this time asking what my address was and he will mail me a check?!?!....Darren then doesn't remember the quote I sent him and had to resend him the quote again. After some banter back and forth he then stated that he's not sure who was to blame for the unplugging of the pump????? I was shocked to hear this from him! July 9th I followed up with him again and did not hear back from him. At this point I was ready to get a lawyer involved, so I let him know that and Immediately he responded back saying he had some cash on him and would drop it off at the house. It was not the full amount for the quote I sent him but I took what I could get. Darren did say that he would get me the rest of it as soon as he could. I texted Darren July 17th asking for the rest of the payment.....after reaching out several times I did not hear from Darren until October. This time he was not taking responsibility for his work and as a business owner. All I wanted to have him do is make the situation right and pay for the damages and he couldn't even do that. It is now November that still haven't herd from Darren about getting the rest of the money. I KNOW THIS WAS LONG BUT ITS BEEN A YEAR DEALING WITH THE LIES AND I WANTED TO BE AS DESCRIPTIVE AS POSSIBLE SO YOU DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID BY USING FLUSH PLUMBING. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND USE SOMEONE ELSE.

That should have been my warning to go elsewhere but I needed help and it was the weekend. Passed on the service but agreed to their "booking fee", warning number 2. They gave me no timeframe for when the technician would arrive so I asked if they could they try to get me in the morning if possible. I told them I don't mind how early. They said they would put a note in the system and would contact me in the morning. No call or text in the morning from them.,,,, Big surprise. So I call them to see where I was on the schedule around 8:30am. They told me that unfortunately all of their folks that day are out on emergency calls (wait, I thought I was an emergency booking from the prior day) and that unfortunately I won't get service until the afternoon. Ok, there goes pretty much all of father's day but I guess it isn't their fault this happened with unfortunate timing. Noon arrives I get a text message as a courtesy saying I was still on the schedule, and they would keep me informed. Ok, that is good news, maybe I am next or at least coming up on the list soon. Sometime a bit after 2pm I get a call, I am thinking awesome, they are probably informing me that they are on their way. But nope, I am now being told that they can't make it at all and basically letting me know I wasted the entire day waiting for nothing. But of course, they are happy to help me Monday. Perhaps you did be a favor because based on other reviews I just read here and elsewhere I now I know that you not only do not value your customers enough to treat them with common courtesy and try to upsell before you even provide services but also it appears you price gouge as well. No, I am done with you guys and happy to tell my story to inform others. Yelp, can I give less than 1 star? This place deserves it.
