Yesterday was the hottest day of the summer and my A/C stopped working. I made a appointment with a Company I have used for years and they wouldn't be able to come for a week. I went to Yelp, called JML, explained my A/C problem. They can within a few hours, fixed it and were reasonably priced. read more

We've used JML for the last few years for maintenance and cleaning. We installed our new AC unit with them this week and were pleased with their work on a larger scaled project. The honesty and integrity of this company isn't something you find often in the industry. read more

Had JML come out today to fix my A/C. Tech came out within a few hours and resolved the problem. He explained what the problem was and was able to remedy it quickly. Very happy with the tech and the overall experience. Would definitely recommend. read more

The owner Jon is an honest and fair businessman. He is experienced and knowledgeable, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. There are many in the Heating and AC business that are out there to suggest repairs that are unnecessary and pad their pocketbooks . Just read the reviews in Yelp . JML can be trusted with your Heating and AC needs . Highly recommend. read more

Service person was a a great communicator, explained all about the nature of the problem as well as the parts that needed to be replaced. Our air conditioning needed to be serviced. You did a great job. They came over just a few hours after we called so based on this experience I would absolutely recommend. I'm going to have them back in the winter to to clean and oil the furnaces before cold weather. read more

I had a different AC company install a unit of mine three years ago the owner of the company who solved my unit was completely incompetent and did not know what he was doing for the past three years. We have gone without a working AC unit I reached out to JML. They were able to come out spent all day troubleshooting found the issue was able to fix the issue then two weeks later when something started happening again they were out ASAP and fixed it.I would highly recommend this company to anyone on top of that the employees there are top notch very knowledgeable kind and respectful read more

Our furnace stopped producing heat overnight. JML was quick to respond to my yelp requests and also was able to make an appointment relatively quickly. The tech was courteous and explained what went wrong and how he fixed it. He also noted our unit is on its last legs but did not go into any hard sell. He actually gave us some tips to keep it going and just a heads up to start planning for that cost outlay. I have to say, I'll probably go with JML when we do decide to replace it just off of the professionalism they demonstrated. read more

I'm very happy to have found this company. They're honest, reliable and very knowledgeable.

We wish we could give JML 10 stars, instead of just 5. Our central AC unit gave up the ghost when 98-degree temperatures were forecast for the day in late August. From our early-morning phone call (which the owner himself answered) to the preliminary visit from Xavier (who presented a few options, including repair and replacement, and who ultimately found a hole in the schedule so we could get a new unit that same day) to the installation by Joel and Eric (who stayed pleasant and professional despite the sweltering heat), the entire JML experience was outstanding. We could not be more enthusiastic in recommending this company and their dedicated team. read more

Heater stopped working suddenly on a very cold day. They came by the same day within a few hours. They cleaned a sensor and done. They showed my husband how to check it in the future and do it himself if needed. While they were here, they noticed a part that was getting old. They were honest and said that it could last a couple more years if we wanted to wait, or they could change it right then. We opted to wait, and will call them back when we need them! Very professional, upcharged for same day urgent service which is to be expected, but reasonable priced for what we needed. Will definitely call them again. read more

Just had my first startup service after having a full install of my furnace AC unit and hot water heater installed last fall. Michael did the install in the fall with one other gentleman and did a excellent job because of the weather they could not do full the balancing and testing on the AC so the startup was scheduled for today because of warmer weather. The service technician Adonis was very polite and very knowledgeable about my system and I was truly amazed at his passion for his job he explained everything to me better than I would have ever expected. The owner John Leonard should be proud that he has good employees working for him that care and love what they're doing. It's hard to find people these days that love what they're doing and go the extra mile to make a customer happy thank you very much Michael and Adonis again for your dedicated service to JML heating and cooling and their customers. read more

The service and technicians are helpful and knowledgeable. The work is great. The staff in the office is in need of more assistance. One person taking every call, answering every question, needing to handle everything is obviously not working well and affects the customer experience. They're overworked and it has to be stressful for them. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my 87 year old grandmother, who wanted the world to know she was very pleased with the furnace JML installed and her entire experience. She needed a new furnace, and she was very happy with the reasonably priced option that JML installed for her. They also installed a new thermostat, and when she didn't really understand how to use it, they went out of their way to print a manual for her, and come back and hand deliver it to her. Overall, she stated that she felt like the prices were very reasonable, the man who installed everything was kind and professional, and that everyone at the company treated her well. read more

Great service from this company now for many years. Had an AC "check & clean" with Adonis this morning and he was polite, fast, informative, and professional. Will be sticking with JML for the foreseeable future as they obviously choose & coach their techs for doing the people side of the job too. read more

Dispatched a repairman within 30 minutes and was able to resolve my issue quickly and at a fair price. Thanks!

Yesterday, during the tail end of an August heatwave, my A/C went out. This morning, I started calling HVAC companies, some didn't answer their phones, the ones that did said that they could not come to my house for several days. But JML came out within two hours, discovered my problem was the thermostat, replaced it immediately and charged me the price that I was quoted. Derek was my technician, he was very professional and thorough. Five stars. Highly recommended. read more

Every year or so our old furnace acts up and JML comes on by and does their magic. I can't recommend them enough, they have really helped us out numerous times in peak winter and summer weather. They are very honest and knowledgeable. read more

I was a regular customer with another company (Any temp heating) for long time who basically started ripping me off for every small thing and finally they even tried to charge me as much as it costs to replace the whole system for a small repair. Thats when I realized I should cross shop and came across JML heating and I was surprised with their pricing. I told them what happened and they sent their technician without even charging the assessment fee. In the email they even mentioned they wanted to build a relationship and waived the fee. They even gave me a discount on the pricing they initially discussed. Now they earned a loyal customer. We need more vendors like this who are genuine and good at service. read more

I found out about them from a recommendation from a friend. And now you have my recommendation :) From the beginning I Knew this was a legit trustworthy place as they are great at following up with you. We have a 9 Unit building with a STEAM Boiler in the dungeon. Now listen, not just any regular HVAC goon can mess with these Boilers. There's a reason its called "Dead mans Heat" .....because all the old plumber/heat guys that knew how to mess with these things are dead now. yes, ancient heating system but also the BEST! Yeap nothing like misty steam heat. Anyways, Jon the owner is awesome. Great guy and they didn't stop until they diagnosed it and fixed it. They basically rebuilt the whole boiler! Brian, thanks for your patience and for leading the project. Marge in the office is a gem. Customer for life!! Shake & Bake seal of approval! Cheers! read more

Called in the AM with no air conditioning. By 10:30 had a tech at my door. Diagnosed the problem and had it running in no time. A mouse chewed through some wires. The tech then checked out the furnace to make sure it was running properly as well. Best $150.00 spent so far this summer. Thank you JML! read more

These guys are great. The communication is seamless. They text prior to arrival and they showed up within the time frame as promised. The technician cleaned both of our furnaces and did not try to upcharge us in any way. He did say we will eventually need to replace a part that is $650.00 but he did not try to insist that we do it right away. Instead, he fixed it. We will eventually replace the part and I will definitely be calling JML again. I would definitely recommend this company. read more

They were very good. Cleaned and serviced my furnace for winter. Thank you. Small company & local.

Totally recommend JML heating and cooling! I have a home with a boiler , and on the second floor a furnace, JML have the most knowledgeable and efficient staff! They were able to repair and service both and did it at an affordable price! read more

Quick and reliable service. JML responded to an urgent need I had and was able to come out the next day for the repair.

Highly recommend this company! It was just my luck that my furnace decided to take a break on a cold February Friday night. I opted to go with my home warranty company first but found out that they're not open until Monday. Looking through Google and Yelp, I decided to go with JML since they're close to my place. For a $150 emergency no heat call, Brian fixed the problem and I couldn't be happier. I for sure thought my furnace is a goner. Thank you Brian for your honesty. I will not go anywhere else. They have my business forever! read more

After contacting JML, they answered right away and stayed in contact during the couple days bet. contact and Brian coming out to assess, to make sure we were all kept on the same page. There was some misunderstanding on their part, even tho I described the problem pretty well, and showed pics. Even tho Brian couldn't figure a way to repair my 60 yr. old unit, he and I did find a way to solve the problem, that I was able to do myself, with $10 in parts! So, if and when I should need more hvac work done ... who am I gonna call? Not ghostbusters! But, JML cash savers! Thanks again, all of you! read more

Jon, the owner came out personally. I was concerned I needed a new AC unit due to noise and long run time. He quickly found a vibration in the cabinet. His tech followed with an appointment. Added Freon and failing electrical part. No more vibrations. Described his work every step of the way before moving forward. Price was very reasonable read more

Jon and his team are great. We had a very difficult installation job that required retrofitting ducts, gas heating, and air conditioning in to a 1960's basement with multiple rooms and living areas (~2000 sq. ft.). Jon is very knowledgeable and that set him apart from other companies which had salesmen come and do the quoting. Jon has done the work himself for years and knows what works and doesn't, and that makes an enormous difference when it comes to selecting the right setup/system. The second thing that really set Jon apart was he was able to refer us to a partner company he has worked with when doing installations the required interior work (drywall, etc.). This made it very easy for us as Jon handled the installation of the ducting and equipment, while the other company handled all finishing, painting, etc. needed for such an involved retrofit job. As someone who has a high bar, wants things done right, and doesn't want to overpay I would highly recommend Jon. If we ever have any other HVAC needs Jon will be my first call. read more

Our boiler needed a new coupler - it's only a $30 part, but we needed a pro to install it. These guys had it done in under 1 hour. Another boiler company came out & tried to convince me I needed a brand new pump - $500 + labor. JML is honest - if you need boiler help get more than 1 quote - but make sure one of them is from JML read more

My previous AC unit was seeing it's last days. I contacted JML originally to service the unit. They did an excellent job of servicing the unit and advising me on not replacing internal parts because I was planning to replace it. Fast forward two years later, I called Jon and team to get an estimate to replace the unit. Communication was excellent and installation was flawless, which is saying a lot since I live in a tall home with the AC unit on the roof. No problem for JML. Their crane partner was very careful with trees and foliage and they installed expertly. AC performance is 1000% improvement. I just wish I had done it earlier rather than struggling with a poor performing older unit. Highly recommend. read more

They charged me $150 for a $50 thermostat and $500 for a $145-$200 gas valve. I had to wait and waste my time because they were not repaired with the necessary parts. A job that should have started and been completed on Thursday was completed on Saturday morning. not to mention they were consistently late. Never again!!! I have already requested a refund for the overpayment. Taking advantage of people is not OK. Times are hard enough as it is but this level of deceit lets me know they were never set foot in my house or my family in the area. update: JML called to say they saw the revie and would gladly give me my refund but they would need to come and remove the gas valve and thermostat. No apology for feeling cheated. No how can we make it better. PURE TRASH!!! read more

We needed an new air conditioning unit in the middle of a heat wave. We had five estimates. One couldn't do it all, two could do it but it would have taken a few weeks and one was much more expensive than the others. We went with JML- a local, family run business. They were quick to respond and had the unit in stock. The installers were very thorough and professional. We will use them to service our HVAC if needed and for annual maintenance. Very pleased. read more

I've been using JML for a couple years. The team members I have interacted with have been great - they do quick and productive repairs, and for a fair cost. The team is reliable. I have especially enjoyed working with Mike, who was extremely thorough. read more

Of course with my luck the furnace takes a crap on one of the coldest nights of the year. On a Friday night, nonetheless. Calling JML was honestly a crapshoot since I know nothing about furnaces and had no idea who or what to expect. Derek showed up within 20 minutes and within 15 minutes my furnace was fixed and my heat was working. Even better, he was able to explain in very layman's terms what was wrong, which I very much appreciated. I was prepared for a huge charge, given it was Friday, at 9pm, on one of the coldest days of the year. Not the case. Thank you so much. I will never call anyone else! read more

I called JML to have them come out and estimate a new air conditioner unit. The man who answered was having trouble with his phone. I wanted to let him know my situation was a little different because our old unit was on our roof, and it conked out after 34 years. He wouldn't let me finish what I wanted to say, he just kept saying " oh, so you need a new unit" Finally after more trouble with his phone, I finally just hung up. I was disappointed as I live in Des Plaines. read more

Writing this review immediately after getting service, so rating will be contingent on the repair working. That said, We have always had HVAC serviced by good friend who is a licensed professional and does not charge us. Our heat stopped working and our lifelong friend is currently not available. I searched Yelp and liked the reviews I saw for JML. Not easy putting trust into someone new after so many years not ever worrying about trusting HVAC service and/or repair. I asked my wife to call this morning. She did. They came out within 3-4 hours at the time they promised. I was pretty sure it was bad sensor (fairly minor) but was dreading the text from my wife that they told her it was something much bigger. Got the text from my wife that it was indeed the sensor and that "the nice young man" also checked the system for safety issues. I am overwhelmingly pleased with my selection of JML (assuming the service done holds up, of course). Well done JML. read more

Can't say enough about Jon and his team. We had furnace issues with an older unit and they came out same day, Saturday, to help us out. When the furnace finally died, they again worked to schedule us for same day replacement on a cold December morning.
