JML responded very quickly to an issue I had with my AC not distributing much cold air. They determined it might be my AC coil leaking refrigerant (Froze Up) and being an old R-22 AC system recommended replacing it with a R-410A. They gave me other options though like recharging the freon or leak detection which might get me through till next year. I choose to replace the system and they installed it the next day which was a hot 90 degrees plus day and had it going before it was really bad indoors. They went above and beyond taking the time to make sure my system was working great and correcting an issue with a fan setting, that was set too high, which a previous installer from another company set wrong. AC is working better than it ever did before and its noticeable. Great Company! read more

Get home from vacation, of course our furnance had broken while we were out. Call JML at 3 am and Jon basically told us he was going to charge us a large fee to come out and tell us what was wrong, even though he could not do anything about it at 3 am. He suggested we wait till early morning that way he would not have to charge us the fee. Derek came early morning as promised looked at our furnace that is about 20 years old and basically told us to just replace the whole unit. They were able to get us a new one the next day and even came by with an electric heater to keep us warm until they could get us up and running again. I felt that JML were honest and fairly priced. This is my second home and I have dealt with previous HVAC companies. I would definitely be using them again if need be. read more

Not the kind of person I would want to do business with. They came out for an emergency service call for broken AC and charged us $225 to tell us we need a new motor. We asked if it was worth it or should we just replace the whole unit? They told us it would by us 4-5 years to go this route. Two days later they came back and replaced the motor and cleaned the AC unit for $700. As they were filling out the paperwork, the AC unit shut off, and the tech turned it back on saying the thermostat was probably on a schedule. Took my money, and left. The thermostat did this for a couple more days before it kicked off completely. When they came back out, JML said the compressor was fried because it's been so hot and we need a new AC unit. He told me it was bad luck and the best he could do is take $300 off a new unit and install. I would like to do business with people who stand by their work, and are thorough. It seems likely that the compressor was shot from the beginning if they had only checked it out when they came out Saturday night. I'm very disappointed with JML. read more

John and his crew at JML never disappoint. My AC broke down at a time it was needed most and JML came and got the job done! They have helped me twice. For my furnace and now my AC with a good and fair price for parts and labor. I will most definitely be coming back for my heating and cooling needs and i will tell all my Family and friends in case they need a trustworthy place for their needs. Thank you JML crew! Rock on! read more

I would 1,000% recommend them! They're service is outstanding, their friendly, efficient, clean, on- time, reliable, I could go on and on. Bottom line is I honestly wouldn't call anyone else. Their service is top notch and their pricing is easy on the wallet. Literally 5 star company!! read more

Working with Jim was great. Very professional. The installer seemed a little unsure of things but ultimately the job was done and done correctly. The crew was very clean and my house was spotless when they left. Would definitely recommend! read more

I have to start out by saying we did not have JML do any work for us. Working with this company was truly a pleasure. The owner personally responded to a message here on Yelp, and the JML team was to able to come out to give an estimate in a very timely fashion. When the original tech had concerns with some specifics of the job, the owner (Jon) came out that same day to go over stuff with me and complete the estimate. They then were able to schedule a day to get the work done. The estimate was competitive with a few others that we got, and I had no doubt that Jon's team would do solid work. Due to some family issues, we had to cancel the plan with JML and reschedule for this week. In the meantime, however, we had a friend put a bandaid on the situation until we have the time to deal with it permanently. In the chaos of everything, I completely forgot to cancel with Jon - until he called to confirm. I feel terrible, but I have to say Jon was professional and gracious even dealing with that. In our (admittedly limited) dealings with JML, they were personable, friendly, and professional. Both Jon and the tech used the phrase, "This is what I'd do if it were my own home." When you, the homeowner, have no idea about air conditioning, that's really the most you could hope for! I would trust JML for any HVAC needs we have in the future. read more

Living in Chicago you realise how important it is to have a humidifier during the winter. Getting tired of having a separate humidifier for each room and constantly filling up water and cleaning the smaller humidifiers, I finally took the plunge and got one attached to my HVAC. I used Yelp to help narrow down a list of potential companies to use and after a week of hearing back from various companies I decided to go with JML. I am a bit surprised at how JML has only a handful of reviews, as they not only were they the only one to offer to come over and provide a free estimate, but they also had the cheapest product with the longest labour and parts warranty! Both professionals who visited (for the free estimate and actual installation) were courteous, professional. I highly recommend JML for any HVAC needs. read more

You will not find a better heating and cooling company. They repeatedly have provided us tremendous service. Reliable service, fair pricing. I cannot say enough about this company. read more

My water heater died, so I wanted to have a hot water at home as soon as possible. The service guy came, unfortunately didn't have a part in a van, but in two hours he showed up and fix my heater. The company deals with warranty paperwork as well, so parts were covered for me. Great service, thank you! read more

After calling a few HVAC companies with no immediate availability, JML was able to service us the same day. Our AC unit was not blowing cold air and Brian was able to get it up and running within 30min. He was super honest and we would recommend JML for your services. read more

Had tech(Memo)out to service our furnace and hot water heater. He was very patient and thorough. He also explained everything he was doing, and then provided tips on energy savings, etc These guys continue to provide excellent service at an affordable price point. Our second floor bedroom was not getting cooled so I called JML to come out and take a look at what the problem is. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a few hours at a reasonable cost. I would use them again with the heating and cooling in the future. read more

These guys were fantastic! Came over quickly and diagnosed the problem with our AC right away. They came back later in the day and had it fixed within 30 minutes. I found their prices very fair and their customer service phenomenal! Would definitely use them again! read more

A/C went out on a 95 degree day, and I was desperate. Called JML and they had someone out within a few hours. Derek was great, he explained everything and turned out it was a simple fix. He had the part on his truck and he had us up and running right away. This is a situation where a contractor can really take advantage, but the price was so reasonable given the level of service. Thanks for being responsive and ethical! I already referred our friends who have been having problems their unit. read more

Excellent, fast, and reliable service! Or air conditioner went out during one of the hottest weeks and JML was able to come within 10 minutes of my call and had the parts delivered and repaired by the early afternoon! Thank you JML Heating and Cooling. read more

I had JML relocate a radiator in my house. They did a great job at a fair price. Will definitely use them again for any future work.

Had a unique experience with JML. We decided to pro-actively replace our 30 year old furnace before it died in the middle of winter. Had multiple companies out to bid but what sold me on JML was Jon's honesty when he came out to give me a quote. Very small thing but he was the only one that said I should keep the existing 25x16x4 filter cabinet instead of paying for replacing with a more common 25x16x1. Explained that there was simply no need and would result in a small amount of additional sheet metal work. Every other guy I had out said they were going to replace but couldn't give me a reason why. Again, small things like this speak volumes on whether you can trust someone. Jon also gave very competitive price which helps :). We had the furnace replaced and the next day I noticed the A/C wasn't working. Even though having a working A/C when it's 70 degrees outside isn't considered urgent, Jon personally came over with a tech that day and found a small installation issue that was due to the fact of going from a 30 year old furnace to a current model. He took the time to explain everything and made sure everything was working correctly with both furnace and A/C. Overall I really appreciated Jon's honesty and commitment to his company during the process. I will be officially moving all of my HVAC services to JML from my previous provider. Highly recommended! read more

You won't find a better company than this. Honest and extremely knowledgeable in what they do. After several outrageous proposals for a new air conditioner, this company gave me the best proposal that was honest, fare and matched others quotes. With an ill husband and heat well into the 90's, they came out within days and installed the unit in consideration of our age and health. Others could not offer a date for installation. Honesty and caring for others along with top notch installers is hard to find these days. It means so much when you find a company like JML Heating & Cooling. A company you can turn too when you need them. read more

Derek was really helpful and friendly with his service. He gave us a reasonable estimate.

My Air air conditioning stopped working last night call this morning on a Sunday they where here in 20 minutes and had me up and running in a half an hour had the part on the truck great service excellent attitude they didn't gouge me or break the bank because it was a Sunday. Highly Recommend!!! read more

I just got a new furnace, ac, and hot water heater from JML. Jon the owner is very nice to deal with, very knowledgeable, honest, and fair, and the installers Dan and Keith were hard working, upbeat, and seemed like they truly enjoyed working together to get the job done to my complete satisfaction. I've already recommended JML to several friends! Renee B. read more

My circulator pump was leaking and I wanted it to be replaced before the holidays. JML gave me a quote of what it might cost over the phone. Once they got to my house, they confirmed the price. The quote was fair and there was no monkey business like some other companies. I don't like it when technicians tell me it's based on estimate hourly rates. Hourly rate may lead to the technician taking their sweet time to just to charge you more (aka monkey business). Overall, I'm happy with JML service and would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Thank you JML!!!! I called 3 other companies and they didn't pick up! You're very reliable, honest, and professional!! Thanks again!

JML saves the day again. Honest people. Fast and not overly priced. Always use them when we need help wth anything and as a first time homeowner... It's often. Thanks to all the JML staff that keep our home comfortable. read more

Furnaces have a way of malfunctioning on the coldest days. Mine did. Today. I had the good fortune of calling John at JML. Jon came out within 2 hours after I called him on a Saturday morning after I discovered my furnace conked out. The only reason it took 2 hours was because he was already on a call. By Monday late afternoon, my new furnace was installed and working like a charm! He even offered to bring over space heaters to tide me over until Monday. The work was done efficiently and his staff were friendly and left the basement neat and tidy. I will certainly use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone! JML put in a new furnace and central air unit at my house on 1/27/17. I am a senior and Jon the owner is a first class person to deal with. I got 3 quotes all for the same products so I could compare accurately. JML by far gave the fairest price of all. The 3 technicians came to my house at 7:30 a.m. and worked steadily for 9 hours. I also had lining put in my chimney and PCV pipe extended outside the house for my American Standard 95% energy efficient furnace. They also installed a new humidifier and condensate pump. This is a first class business who I highly recommend. read more

We own 4 rental properties in the Palatine / Arlington Heights area and use JML for our heating needs. John is pretty much the best local businessperson we've dealt with - and we deal wit a lot (electricians, remodelers, realtors, plumbers, painters, etc). We had a tricky heater and John came out late on a Saturday night to diagnose, and eventually we replaced the heater. I'd trust JML with any future work, and hope this review helps folks trust them too. read more

They diagnosed the issue and get my AC working from a issue caused by a previous heating and cooling company

We called JML this week when our air conditioner wasn't working properly; Jon the owner was great. They got a Tech, Memo, was out to service the A/C the next day. Memo called on his way to our house; he was personable and knowledgeable. He fixed our rooftop unit and had to knock out two hornets nests to get to it without any issues. Fantastic company; we will use them again. read more

I sent quote requests to four companies. I only received two back and the runner was about $800 more expensive than JML. Jon came out the same day, looked at the work at hand (A/C replacement) and confirmed the quote. He said he could install it the following day if I wanted. Knowing that it was hot out, he offered to let me borrow a window unit A/C for the night since it was going to be hot. The next day he called to let me know he was on the way and quickly got to work with a team of two others. Work was quick. Price was reasonable. And Jon seems like a nice and trustworthy guy (I left them at my place unattended for a few hours). They did not try to sell me any other services, just briefly mentioned maintenance on the unit next year. My only knock was that the unit was so big they hit my main door and chipped some of the trimming around the door. I'm surprised they didn't scratch more based on the tight spaces the unit had to go through. At the end of the day, I'm happy and I would recommend and use them again. read more

JML did a great job fixing the air conditioner in my condo. I received quotes and timing from other local companies and JML was the most competitive on price and were available immediately! Other companies has a 2-3 week wait! I highly recommend JML for their price, professionalism and availability! read more

Horrible horrible experience with this company. Came out two months ago, and I paid $360. I experienced the same issue, and they refused to cover and resolve. When I called to tell them how I unsatisfied I was with regards to their policy and inflexibility, and that I was considering taking my business elsewhere, John told me to 'have a nice life'. read more

JML has serviced our home for many years. They have installed our furnace, air conditioner and water heater as well. They are always prompt and courteous and their service technicians are very nice. I couldn't imagine using another company. They are honest with the pricing I have recommended them to many of people. Everyone has the same feedback as me. Keep up the good work! read more

After a very pricey (and, as it turns out, completely outrageous quote) from another company, we called JML Heating and Cooling to help us survive the Chicago 2011 Heat Wave. John was at our house an hour later, checked every part of our air conditioning system very thoroughly and got us back up and running. All this for a fraction of what the other company wanted to charge us just the "check" the system. John was not only professional and courteous, he was simply an all around great guy - he even called us the following evening to make sure all was running smoothly. I highly recommend JML Heating and Cooling and I am now John's customer for life! read more

JML was extremely responsive and polite. We called for service, in this 90 degree heat and they called us back immediately and sent a service person right out.
