Hero Air is great as far as I can tell. I mean it seems like nothing comes cheap but they at least seem fair. I will copy the review I wrote about ABC, which lead me to hiring Hero Air in the first place to give you the full picture: Update: ABC did show up at 8pm the following night and proceeded to quote me $1,363 to replace some components and $475 to deep clean the condenser coil. I was paying for their VIP service and that is the quote I got. I said no way since I trust them zero. Got Hero Air, who get amazing reviews on Yelp to come out and were there within 2 hours. Turns out I needed a new thermostat, which all in for diagnosing, running out to get the thermostat, and installing for $407. He also recommended a deep cleaning and charged me $150, so for $557 instead of $1,833 which wouldn't have even fixed the problem I am up and running 4 hours after requesting an appointment. So when I said above they hope idiots will let them get away with charging triple, I was not exaggerating. ABC deserves to go out of business. It seems like with their AI reservation system and "fluid" scheduling they probably go bought out by private equity and it seems like they are running themselves into the ground. A couple of months ago, I moved to a new house. Since I hadn't been happy with my previous HVAC company, I thought it was the perfect time to find a new one. So, of course, I turned to Yelp! That's how I found Hero Air. I called to schedule an AC tune-up and asked if they could come on Memorial Day since I had the day off from work. The person I spoke with thought they would be working that day, so he scheduled the appointment. The next day, Vladi called to apologize and explained that they had decided to reserve Monday for emergency calls only. I completely understood and asked if I could have a late afternoon appointment on a different day, since I'm a teacher and prefer not to miss school. He was very accommodating and scheduled me for the upcoming Wednesday between 4 and 6 p.m. Communication throughout the process was excellent, with both email and text updates. Luis arrived early and patiently waited for me to get home. He was a true professional, and I really appreciated his work ethic. He showed me how to change the filter and explained why I wasn't getting good airflow in my bedroom. Another thing I like about this company is that they don't try to sell you annual maintenance plans--in fact, they don't even offer them. They simply come when they're needed. Locally owned business thats very responsive! When I returned from vacation I had an air conditioner issue. The usual company I use was not available so I reached out to Hero. The impressive part was the quick response from Vlad who is the owner and a technician. He was able to send someone the next day. The person figured it out and got it fixed. However, something was off on the repair which I noticed and Vlad again quickly came out to correct it. These days it's hard to get the type of attention and response from most businesses. Also things inevitably go wrong and you want to make sure you can trust a business to correct any issues. They do both very well! read more

Very quick response, very nice, and seemed to do a good job. The upcharge on replacement parts is pretty wild ($259 for the part and install when it retails for $24-33), but at least my heat is back on! $85 for the diagnostic for a total of $344. Would love to see diagnostic fee applied to the cost of repair or replacement, because that's pretty stiff for work completed in under 30 minutes, even accounting for the fact you pay also for the experience and skill. I think you charge the diagnostic is the client doesn't use you for the repair. read more

This review is delayed, but important enough to write it even though it's late. I had a small heating unit in the attack that was used specifically for the 2nd floor master bedroom. It was over 30 years old and would periodically stop working. It was time for a replacement. I did my research and had several HVAC companies come out and estimate this unique situation. Vlad came out quickly, surveyed the situation, and got back to me with a quote by the end of the day. Out of the 5 HVAC companies that I received estimates from, Hero Air price was right and the diagnosis was very competent. I scheduled the work with Hero on a Friday. Vlad came out on time and was extremely efficient. He and his teammate had the unit up and running within a few hours. They fine-tuned it to the specific square footage of my room for maximum efficiency, cleaned up, and were off to enjoy their weekend. My AC went kaput (when it was 1000 degrees out). It was actually just the blower fan, but all my equipment is very old. I was expecting a lot of hemming and hawing, advising to replace the whole unit, etc. but Luis came out, told me he'd need a day to get the part, found it at a good price, and installed it the next day. HERO Air provided what I believe was an accurate assessment of the problem with my AC. However they could not get part (compressor) needed to fix the issue and instead provided options to replace the entire AC system. I found a other company that was able to get parts needed to repair/replace failing compressor easily. We will see if this was right option to go vs replacing the entire system as suggested by Hero Air. It was most certainly a less expensive solution to just replace the compressor, but I am not sure how much more time it will buy me before I need entirely new system. read more

My ancient hot water heater finally died. Got a few quotes. Hero Air had the most competitive rates. They were also the only one who suggested Bradford White. The other brands are ok, but it seems most contractors recommend BW. Vladimir arrived on time, installed the heater, replaced some pipes as you can see from the picture. Vlad from Hero Air is the best!! He is honest, friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable. He analyzed the furnace with patience. He was on the way out when the furnace stopped working after he watched it for a while. He used his electrical tester and determined it was the control board. He came back the next business day with the board and he was finished in 25 minutes. He charged a fair amount for working on a weekend. Hero Air excels at everything you need from such a service - communication, timeliness, expertise and price. Vladimir was ahead of time / schedule and explained everything he was doing to service my Furnace, Water Heater and ERV. Hero Air is coming back to service my AC and further evaluate our ERV but I have not doubt that they will provide excellent service. I cannot speak highly enough of Hero Air. What a great experience. Our air conditioning went out yesterday on the Fourth of July, right before the fireworks started, because OF COURSE that would happen to me (and to my poor dog, ugh). We all suffered miserably through the night and I was texting people and requesting Yelp quotes by early morning (like, at 5 a.m.). Vlad got back to me right away and was able to come by later this morning. He instantly diagnosed the issue, had all the necessary parts in his vehicle, and made the repairs...AND NOW THERE IS AIR!!! Woo-hoo! Vlad was super fast (in and out in less than 30 min.!) and professional, and the service fee was extremely reasonable. My furnace wouldn't turn on and after troubleshooting with a new thermostat, I went on Yelp to find someone who could check the furnace. Vlad and Hero Air had great reviews and I reached out and he responded quickly and was able to come to my house this afternoon to fix the problem. Thankfully, it was an easy fix but Vlad went above and beyond to ensure everything was tightened properly and I won't have any trouble again in the near future. On 10/25/23 I hired this company to startup my heaters and do basic winter maintenance on my units in a 2 story building. I am a landlord and have done business with HVAC companies for a long time. Here is my review of this company: This company responded quickly but the technicians didn't really explain what they did, they never provided a receipt with an explanation of what was done and they didn't check if there was a call for heat at the thermostat. The technician also told me he would provide an estimate work for other suggested work but never got back to me. Finally, they never tested the work. They never turned the thermostat power switch back on and my tenants had no heat for two days. I did a quick check and saw that the switch was off. When I turned the switch on everything ran perfectly. The technicians should have checked ALL thermostats and made sure all units called for heat. 1. Technicians should explain everything they did and show the owners what was done. The tech just completed the work, made some suggestions for more work and left. 2. The company never provided a written receipt with an explanation of what was done. I paid this company $400 cash and there is no record of that. There is no accountability and if something goes wrong I have no proof that this company did work for me. 3. An estimate for other suggested work was promised but never delivered. If this company is not interested in taking on more projects then I can't take them seriously. If they are not professional enough to deliver then there must be an issue with their internal process and I cannot afford to work with a company that lacks proper structure. 4. It is clear that their work was never tested. The last thing they should have done was check if all thermostats worked properly, this was not done. They finished their work, took their cash and left without confirming everything fired up properly. read more
