Great experience with HVAC Buddies after the AC in my condo broke down on Monday when it was in the 90s-100s outside. I reached out to a number of different HVAC companies on Monday evening, and HVAC Buddies was the first to respond. Erik and his team (two guys) arrived at 7am the next day, and Erik quickly determined the problem and laid out my options: repair the AC, replace the AC, or replace the entire HVAC system (AC and furnace). He provided me with multiple quotes for AC-only replacement and HVAC replacement (at multiple price points). One thing that I appreciated was that Erik went out of his way not to upsell anything and made clear that it was my decision, but still answered all my questions and gave me his professional opinion. I ultimately decided to replace the entire HVAC system due to its age (around 15 years old). HVAC Buddies also offers payment plans through a third-party lender, so I was able to set up a payment plan with 0% interest for 36 months, which is always a welcome option for large expenses like this one. Erik and his team came back on Thursday morning with the new unit and worked all day to get the new HVAC system installed. By 8:30pm on Thursday, my AC was running again. They came out and said I need a new blower motor. Sent me a quote 2 days and $1,600 later. I was able to find an OEM blower motor for 380. Total job done with parts and labor by my Fiancee for 630. Oh actually 750, I forgot to include the $120 Hvac Buddies charged for when they came out to diagnose it. Saved $950 by using someone else! HVAC buddies was very responsive when we had our issue with our hot water heater and got us hot water back on within one day as they needed to obtain a part from the parts store the next morning. Great experience with HVAC Buddies. My AC wasn't working and they were very responsive and flexible finding a time that fit my schedule. Erik came out and fixed the problem pretty quickly, and also ran diagnostics on the unit and suggested adding refrigerant and replacing the 6 year old capacitor. Didn't feel like an upsell at all, Erik was very matter of fact with the pros/cons. Ultimately I figured why not do it while he was already here instead of waiting for it to inevitably break in another year or two.
