I recently had this company to come out and diagnose my hot water tank and repair it. They say it was a faulty gas valve. This tech did not give a estimate, but a guesstimate in the range of $550-$750. I disagreed with him. He wrote on my receipt "Follow up". I had to call them back four to five times in a seven day period to finally get a quote for over $600, but less if I add the $85 I had to pay them to come out to do the diagnosis. I told him I wanted a second opinion. I called three different licensed and bonded HVAC and plumbing technicians that gave me a quote for $350. I will never call Aabal Heating and Cooling again in life and I live less than a mile from them. read more

So they called when they realized they would be late and sent another guy because the original one was running behind. I can't shake the feeling that he wasn't knowledgeable and after paying $127 for the call and to bleed the radiators (even though I told him I just paid someone to bleed them the day before), the problem wasn't resolved. My main issue is that it just sounded like a lot of guessing and answers to my direct questions and on what I'd gathered from previous technicians went unanswered. To begin we highly recommend AABAL Heating & Cooling based on their excellent customer service and professional work. We have been using this company for several years for regular maintenance as well as new AC units. We have always been very pleased from speaking with the receptionist to interacting with seasoned and young technicians who complete the jobs. Recently, we called for AC service and Demar, the receptionist was very courteous and thorough in assessing our AC needs and arranging an appointment. On the day of the appointment Eduardo, the technician arrived on time and began work. Upon review he determined that his supervisor needed to review also. He arrived in less than 1/2 hour and confirmed the issue. The job along with annual AC/heating maintenance for 2 units was done in less than 3 hours. It's been 2 weeks since the repair and we've had no issues as a result of Eduardo's diligence and work skills. In addition, I was very pleased to see that AABAL is hiring, training and allowing young people the opportunity to learn and grow in the trade. To see the interaction of Eduardo and his supervisor assessing the issue and Eduardo completing the job showed integrity for good work, forward thinking for the company's future and its employees but most of all concern for customer satisfaction by providing an excellent service. Recently, I had a furnace installed by Aabal and I wanted to use one of the fancy new thermostats by Ecobee. Although it turned out to be incompatible with my system, Jason put in a herculean effort to get it installed; including working with the customer support with vendor. I really hate this company. On Dec 2014, our furnace broke down. We called AABAL to diagnose and fix the problem. They said we needed a new motherboard for the furnace. It was going to cost $729 (they wanted to charge more) and they suggested that we need a new furnace, which we disagreed. The furnace still had some years to go and was only 8 years old and was properly maintained. Something just broke prematurely. They fixed the furnace or I thought they fixed it because there was not enough heat coming in still. When we called them back to check their works and their defense was I wasn't changing the furnace filter often. BS. I changed that furnace filter like changing baby diapers. When the service technician came back to measure the room temperature with his device he said that everything was normal. He said that I was imagining things. What?! February 10, 2015 our furnace broke again for the second time. This time AABAL charged $269 to replace a fuse switch which I suspected was the original cause of the furnace. Paid about $1000 already alone to AABAL Heating within 2 months for a half assed job done. Forget AABAL Heating and purchase a Home warranty service for appliances, furnaces, air conditioners, etc. and save your self a headache. ABBAL HEATING is the dumps! read more

I had used AABAL once before and their service was decent so when the AC unit stopped functioning I placed a call. They set up an appointment for the next day from 11 am to 1 pm and to9ld me the technician would call before coming. I gave them two phone numbers. At 1 pm (the end of the appointment window) I hadn't heard anything so I called. "You are next on the list, the technician will be there within thirty minutes", they said. I understand that things happen and sometimes technicians are late, but in that case, I expect a call from the company to tell me what is going on. At 4 pm I still hadn't heard anything and we had to leave. I won't be using them again. read more

I am only giving them 2 stars because we had used them for years in the past and really had no problems. They were decently priced. We used them to install a furnace years ago and would have them come out yearly to clean and check it during the summer before the winter months came. What made me decide to trash their number is we had them come out to check the furnace and they told my aunt, who was the only person home, that the furnace was cracked in multiple places, was leaking and couldn't be fixed. We needed a new one. For $20,000. My aunt told us this and we balked at the idea. This was in maybe October or something around there. It was cool but not cold. So we didn't turn up the heat because I was scared, thinking it would blow up or something. But soon it was getting cold and I knew we had to think of something soon instead of being idiots waiting around for winter to roll in. I finally decided to get a second opinion. She just assumed there was no point and that we were just going to be out 20k. I had someone my father knew come by and check it out for us. He found no leaks and no problems. He said go ahead and turn it on and if we had any issues then give him a call. That was 3 years ago and still no problems with the furnace. I never called AAbal back, but I was turned off by this. I had a feeling they were hoping to get over on an older woman who couldn't get down on the floor and look for leaks herself and didn't know any better. And they were right. She was ready to pay them because she didn't think there was no hope and wouldn't bother with a second opinion. There is definitely something to be said for getting 2, 3 even 4 opinions if need be. They definitely get zero stars for this. Watch out and get another opinion if you use them and feel like the price is a little sketchy, especially if it's something big and expensive. In my situation they are hoping to scare you into thinking you won't have any heat in the coming winter and you'll pay them for a new heater out of panic and fear. I have used AAbal heating and cooling for many years they even put 2 furnaces in back in the late 90s. Never had an issue until today 2/23/15 it's 4 degrees outside we had a furnace go out in their rental unit with new tenants that have a 3 year old daughter. Called AAbal they said they would have the tech Josh call before he showed up since I don't live at the property and was 20-30 minutes away asked if he could wait they said sure np. Tech got there, never called and when I told him I was 20 minutes away he said he wouldn't wait so tonight tenants have no heat. I will NEVER use AAbal again!! I had used them previously and thought I was getting good service. Then I had a warranty issue on a repair that they misdiagnosed and their true colors came out. It cost me almost $1000 (turns out the part was only $275 and almost $700 for labor for 2 hours work) to do the original repair on a furnace in my house. When the same part they replaced broke in the exact same spot as the previous part, I called in to collect on the warranty and they told me to honor the warranty they were going to need to charge me an additional $1000 to fix a part that they didn't fix on the original service call. So, a new furnace, from what they quoted me, would have been $3500 installed. That high price is why I took a chance on the less expensive repair.(they now deny that they quoted me that much) They made excuse after excuse on how it was my fault and that they didn't do anything wrong and their solution? Spend more money. I called a friend that did HVAC and told him about the situation and he agreed that being that the exact same part broke in the same place that they did a poor job and should have done more to remedy the situation. The best part about this is it forced me to look for other HVAC companies and I realized how much they had been overcharging me over the course of the repairs I had done. If you live in a nice house they try to sell you new system and if you don't they try an overcharge for basic services. In one of our rental units we replaced a part for almost 700 dollars last winter and had we know that a new unit before labor was the same price we never would have spent that money on an old unit. This time they didn't mind not trying to sell me a new unit. On top of all of this when I originally called in the warranty work I simply stated that I had a repair needed. They sent out a "supervisor" aka salesman and he told me he would be there within the hour. As the service team realized it was warranty work their "supervisor" got word and didn't even bother to tell me he wasn't stopping by anymore. I sat at home and after the window they gave me I decided to call in at which point they had the sense to tell me I sat at home for nothing as he wasn't coming as they way I put it "there wasn't a big new sale to make on warranty work". They are a less than honest operation that refuse to acknowledge they make mistakes that cost customers money. I tried 3 times to work with them to resolve the issue mutually and they wanted none of it. read more

I have had Aabal out several times for heating and air issues over the past few years. Theey have always been very professional, knowledgeable, and competively priced. Never had an issue with their work. I would rather support a smaller family owned business than large businesses that get to big for their own good. read more
