Astera was the only company of 3 that I called that sent someone over the same day for an AC issue on Friday in the middle of summer. Val took time to explain everything he found, which was a rusted capacitor part on the unit and low freon. He hypothesized a mouse may have gotten into the unit and cause the noise I heard. He also found 2 small gas leaks on my furnace which he pointed out by spraying a mixture of dish soap and water. So I needed to replace the shut off valve. Val was very professional and I also trusted him. read more

Very helpful in diagnosing and helping us resolve the issue with our washer/dryer. We'd love to work with Astera again!

I got a response very quick and they asked the brand of appliance I had too before suggesting they would send someone out. I got an appointment the same day. I even got updates via text. Val came out assessed it and came back the next day with parts I needed and was done within 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend and use them again. read more

Exceptional! Very honest compared to other repair companies! Offered constructive ideas on different makes of dishwashers.

I wish I could give Astera 10 stars!! in the last week they fixed my washer and a heating air conditioning unit up in our office that I was told by Carefree Comfort in Highland Park that was not fixable and I would have to replace the whole thing for over $2000!! Not only did they fix it in under 10 minutes it was $80!! I was more than willing to pay more than that, but that's what it cost!! I will never use another place for HVAC needs an appliance repair then Astera!! read more

Repeat customer here! Had used Astera in the past for dishwasher repair and was super pleased so it was a no-brainer to reach back out when our dryer went out on a Sunday evening. I filled out an appointment request form and scheduled a service visit for the following Tuesday easily. Someone from the team reached out via text for the model number and information the same day. I was even able to change my appointment to Monday and an earlier time with no problems. Our service technician, Val, texted us on his way to our house with an ETA. He arrived promptly and diagnosed the issue quickly. He was able to fix our dryer with a few replacement parts and even found another issue while he was working. Val quickly fixed this too which ended up saving us time and money, as the part would eventually malfunction and need to be fixed. Payment was quick and easy. Super impressed with Astera's professionalism, expertise and service read more

When I first contacted Astera they responded almost immediately. Steve A was very prompt and notified me when his arrival would be. He made some recommendations for me to do such as using a different filter. He explained what/why service should be and did not use any pressure tactics. I decided to just have a new A/C installed and all went very well with Steve A work. I actually just went online and researched quite a few before choosing them at first. Lar T read more

Really great experience! Dryer wasn't producing heat. Valentina was very quick to respond and she had Steve out to me about an hour later! You can tell this company takes pride in their customer satisfaction. And I will definitely be contacting them the next time I need a service that they offer! Astera Heating, Cooling and Appliance Repair was very responsive, pleasant, and painless to work with. I reached out to them via Yelp messenger and they were one of the first companies to respond, and offered to send a specialist out only a couple hours later, same day. They have offices in Prospect Heights and Downtown Chicago, service area is the city and suburbs. Technician diagnosed the problem and came back the next day to fix and repair. They are up front and transparent with their prices and, to my knowledge, the cost is fair. I would highly recommend. read more

Our dishwasher began giving issues after only 15 months of use. When I put out a request for service on Yelp, I got a response within 10 mins, which was impressive but as we began to communicate, I noticed that they are efficient, with excellent communication and organization. Not only did Vlad come over within a couple of hours, but he accurately diagnosed the problem too. The cost was quite reasonable and a fraction of the cost of a possible new dishwasher. They were honest and easy to deal with. I would definitely call them again for any other appliance issue. read more

A-tech was very professional on fixing a furnace. Had scheduled an emergency service for Sunday afternoon . Used A-Tech because of positive reviews. I needed expert guidance because of chronic high electric heating bills for a tenant. A-Tech's evaluation was professional and thorough and I now have a good understanding of our situation. A bonus was an unscheduled installation of a ceiling bath/fan which I had been having difficulty in scheduling installation. Recommended. read more

A girl answered and when I requested a quote for my project she immediately told me they don't sell parts- so how do they make any repairs without parts. Don't be fooled by the 5 star rating....They charged me over $200 in labor for a job that took all of 5 min... thats one heck of an hourly rate. I would of refused but after considering the estimate cost and part cost and the fact I would have to wait a couple days for the new part I did not care ate the additional. They tell you if you give them 5 stars they will give you $20 back. Keep the $20! I'm letting people know you way over charge for services and thats why they are fine giving you money back. read more

Problem: The fridge and bake function of my oven stopped working My refrigerator stopped working. After a bit of research on Yelp I went ahead with A-tech as they had coverage for my area and had good reviews. I am happy with my choice. Steve reached out to me to fix up a time to check my appliance and was right on time. He checked my refrigerator and the control board had stopped working. It was pricy. But it was a better option than replacing my whole refrigerator. So, I went ahead and requested him to order it. Also my oven had stopped functioning in Bake mode though it would respond to Broil. Steve checked it and identified it as a failed ignitor issue. He was gracious to explain that the oven uses separate ignitors for each function. Overall I chose to replace both failed parts. Steve ordered and procured them for me and came back the next day with the parts to have them replaced. The devices have started functioning I would be happy to work with A-Tech or recommend them for anyone looking for appliance repair. read more
