I can't recommend Astera enough! I woke up to a refrigerator not cooling properly (at 51° internal when calling for 37°) and a water line frozen internally on my GE Cafe with no water coming out of the dispenser. I know a little bit about a lot but nothing about refrigeration. I felt a little lost until a quick Yelp search of "refrigerator repair near me" showed me Steve with at least 55 recent, 5-star reviews. I called his number, he answered immediately, and was willing to come by same day in only a few hours. Steve showed up exactly on time, asked me a few questions about what the refrigerator had been doing and already knew what the problem was within a few moments. He then confirmed what the problem was by reading the refrigerator's stored codes in it's computer and showed me every step of the way. It was easy to see that he knew exactly what he was talking about which made me feel confident! Steve explained the part needed to fix the problem and why it even WAS a problem, that the part was available same day at the supply house, and that he could be back with the new part within the hour. We agreed on the price and he was off. When Steve returned, he replaced the part in approximately 10 minutes and updated my refrigerator's firmware. Then he cleaned up and tested everything. The new part was working as expected and the water had already begun to flow into a glass when dispensed. The whole process was efficient, professional, and completely painless!! What's more, I didn't have to lose an entire refrigerator full of new groceries from the night before. I can't thank Steve enough. We have a dryer that is not working and in need of repair. I reached out to Astera to get more information about how their pricing worked. In a VERY scripted way, they REPEATEDLY kept telling me there is a $65 diagnostic fee that gets waived if we hire them to do the job. I asked for more specific information to get an idea of how much per hour they would be charging. (I didn't want to pay $65 for them to diagnose the problem, only to find out we couldn't afford the hourly rate that followed.)
