Took about 5min to even be acknowledged upon walking in, service was terrible. The menu is less than half of what it used to be, we eat here fairly often, but not any longer. Brought a bottle of water to the table but never brought glasses for us to drink it. We were informed there are out of breakfast and out of the burger. Tried to order the club sandwich, and was informed they were out of bacon. I asked if they would provide a discount on the meal being that they were out of a key ingredient, I was informed no, and that there was no manager there, and the employee didn't have the ability to do so, and was not offered anything additional at no charge to supplement their missing ingredients. I'm not gonna pay full price for something that is missing one of the main ingredients. The highlight of the meal was the hazy ipa, which they don't make and their only job with that was to keep it cold. At no point during our visit did anyone ever come around to check on us or ask how everything was, or if we needed anything else. Needless to say, this restaurant is very poorly mismanaged and we will not be returning. The staff and management needs a complete overhaul, or a new restaurant needs to come in that knows what they are doing.

Lovedddd my experience at Assemble. I was fortunate enough to come by with family/friends that were familiar with this place so I wasn't entirely confused. Right when you come in you'll notice the bar area, and two restaurants (for lack of better words). Seating area is available inside and out. There was a BBQ option but don't know too much about them since I ate at the other location next to them. I think their name is "Brezo". Their menu was very interesting and what really caught my attention was their Gordita. I ordered their gordita with pulled pork and salad. By far the BEST gordita I've had in the bay. Not going to lie, the presentation was a bit overwhelming but don't let that stop you from giving it a try. The masa or the "Gordita" was not thick or crazy. It was made just right! And don't get me started on the beans, cheese, and pulled pork. It was delicious. And if you aren't familiar with a Gordita it's basically deep fried masa(dough) that fluffs up creating a pocket and then cut right in the middle. Once cool and cut they stuff many ingredients inside such as, beans, cheese, lettuce, meats and more. Absolutely tasty and mouth watering. A must try!

My friend wanted to eat somewhere by the water and I suggested Assemble. It's next to Rosie the Riveter by the marina. I love the industrial look of Assemble and having the choice of being able to eat outside on a sunny day. Families are taking a brisk walk by the water with their dogs. Sailboats pass through and from time to time you'll see windsurfers. If it's too windy outside you can sit by the window inside and people watch or sit at the bar. The bar counter is large enough to eat your breakfast, brunch or lunch. Wendell was our bartender, he makes a fabulous Old Fashioned. We had a pleasant conversation with him. Angelo had great customer service. We asked him about travel tips from his hometown and he gladly shared them. Thanks Angelo. I had a mimosa and an Assemble breakfast, it was perfect. The burger was amazing. We had creme brulee which was delicious. Our friend loved her fried chicken sandwich. I'd definitely return. It was a pleasant and delicious experience.

Very cool spot to have a brunch with my colleaguefriend just before we were going to enjoy a couple of hours shopping at the Columbia store for employees. The company we work at gave everybody coupons to access that store, so with the excuse of shopping half price we went to visit Richmond marina. It was my first time there and I learned so much of the industrial history pre and post WWII in this area. I had a vague idea of what Richmond has to offer and the lunch at this historical building surprised me. Tons of glass and brick, boiling machines that look original, industrial atmosphere softened with the white linen table clothes. Very nice and strangely intimate. My friend and I both have the Assembly burger, very nice bun, all shiny and fresh. Good meat and best fries (fried in canola oil with some peril, thyme and other herbs. Very delicious. Coffee is great too, as well as service. We were hesitant to go there thinking that would not be great (as only option really in that park) but it was a great experience.

This is no ordinary place as there's a lot of history to it due to how they've maintained much of the old vats and other objects to give it a special character. Excellent customer service as the waiters were detail oriented and made sure you're well taken care of. The food, it was amazing! 1) garden omelette was so unique in how they make it and present it. Love the scarred tomatoes, the shiitake mushroom and the all around crispy home fries. 2) the assemble breakfast was great as well. The toast was perfect, bacon just the right crispy texture to it, eggs of your choice was cooked right, and the home fries, it's so so good. We will definitely be back to try more food on the menu!

Stopped in while in the area after a bike ride and enjoyed lunch and drinks. Enjoyed fish tacos and chicken quesadillas. Good seating outside , nice staff .

I give this restaurant a 3 star rating because the phone service is horrendous and it has been like this for years. My friends and I had the exact same issue a few years back and so only a few of us ended up trying it out rather then the entire group. The manager and reservation host are lacking in some serious operational skills. We tried to call repeatedly to book our group booking months in advance, voicemail was full and unable to leave messages. When emailing there is also little to no responses or instruction causing extra headache for those of us trying to coordinate our group. Incredibly unfortunate and I cannot imagine how much business they are losing out on due to this continuous method of operation. The bummer part is fixing the answering machine or being able to listen to your messages from anywhere should not be a problem in this day and age... it is such an easy fix. There is literally no reason the voicemail should ever be full or an email unanswered in a business! The waitstaff, bartender, cooks, and the view are what make this place worthy of stopping by.. their work is what keeps this business afloat and anyone wanting to come back. Fettuccine is delightful, but the breaded chicken strips although flavorful are a bit heavy on the breading itself. French fries are real and light, kind of refreshing for a french fry. Catfish sandwich is nice and light and easy on the flavor so that you can add your own spice or other accommodations. They fresh guacamole on the club is heavenly! The outside view is beautiful on warm clear bay area days, you are nearly right on the water. Even worth dropping into the Rosie the Riveter Museum first then grabbing a bite to eat after and discussing what you learned and stories with your friends!

I only eat burgers a couple times a year so when I do, I want it to be epic. Ever since moving from NYC to Berkeley I've been on a quest for the best burger in the area and friends, this is IT. We went there for social distance sunset drinks (cocktails were also delicious) and the burger blew me away -- smoky, perfectly seasoned chargrilled flavor, excellent meat quality, nice squishy grilled brioche bun -- the whole thing was melt-in-your-mouth goodness. This is the stuff dreams are made of, and now I'm dreaming of returning to eat another one. Go here. Get the burger. You won't regret it. (I meant to take a picture of it but I ate it too fast. I could not be distracted from the deliciousness.) *Oh and the fries are yummy - nicely seasoned. And the waiter working the bar was very sweet.

Mixed review.... I wanted to love it here, but I didn't. The location is amazing. Way out on the Richmond peninsula with full water views and lots of parking. The space is cool, hip, vintage, beautiful, awesome.... Lots of big windows and lots of light. Cool bar area. Great vibe. The service was meh. Took a long time to greet us after we sat down. No water was offered or delivered. Our waiter seemed a bit annoyed by everything. Someone besides our waiter brought our food out. No one ever came by to check up on our table, to see if we needed anything. We ate our entire meal before anyone came by. Just funky service. Did not feel welcome. The menu is limited. The food was expensive for what you get. Overpriced sandwich and fries for my friends... I ordered the pasta which as described did not sound spicy. It was VERY spicy - too spicy so I didn't eat my food. When the person clearing dishes saw that, she offered me another dish... But since no one checked on us, my companions had already finished all their food. She took the item off our bill which was gracious and not expected. Nice touch. I probably won't go back here until I read more consistent yelp reviews that they have fixed their issues. It has great potential!!

Grabbed some brunch at Assemble before a bike ride along the Richmond section of the Bay Trail. I like that they've embraced the factory history of the building with both the name and the interior design (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/assemble-richmond?select=5TetorDj7fSDFW-k70an1Q&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw) I had the Chicken Fried Steak with chicken sausage gravy and eggs (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/assemble-richmond?select=XZKkT30VpbkTD5JLeeQPfA&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw) and opt'ing for a side salad instead of home-fries (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/assemble-richmond?select=DrJCJyND-bnkOoDHfdWKmw&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw). The dish was a mixed bag for me - the steak was somewhat dry, but I really liked the chicken sausage gravy with plenty of sausage chunks (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/assemble-richmond?select=UZpVjwOLn0cYOwYQxZwdfA&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw). The sunnyside up eggs looked good, but diving in showed them to be mostly cooked from the bottom with not much runny yolk (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/assemble-richmond?select=EjB1XZQn7BPMp-ZGQ9iIaQ&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw) My friend had the Sourdough French Toast with whipped cream and strawberries, which comes with three slices and a ramekin of maple syrup (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/assemble-richmond?select=c7_dKw0nrBCU0ryf77Iu1A&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw). The sourdough was an interesting twist, but the slices could have been soaked longer in the egg wash to get a more custard-y center. Despite the location on the water, the average food lessens the draw for me.

I had the Marina Burger. The idea of goat cheese sounded good...not on a burger, however...zero seasoning to either of our double patties, so adding whatever doesn't help...no discernible flavor other than overwhelming sloppy goat cheese. The bacon was rubbery...and interesting, also no flavor...bacon w/o flavor?! Ugh. Patties cooked fine...just nothing special. The onions were horrible - sloppy, overcooked...just unappealing. Now I ordered the garlic parm fries...these are horrid. ALL the parm and garlic was at the *bottom,* not a topping, nothing sticked to the fries. Had to eat them with a fork, scooping this non-flavorful topping up w/ the fries...and the garlic is the worst I have ever had...zero flavor, and the parm? Where? It was there, only again, zero flavor. We've lived in Hercules for over 30 years and are creatures of habit, so it was nice to venture the 10-minute drive to San Pablo. We were not impressed by the exterior strip mall building, but the interior of Mely's is very cute, homey, and clean. (I even peeked into the kitchen since the door was open.) I wanted pancakes, but got waffles instead since W ordered the blueberry buttermilk stack. We both had a side of eggs, his scrambled and mine sunny side up. The eggs were delish; mine in particular was perfectly cooked with slightly crunchy edges, a beautiful, silky, runny yolk, and no uncooked whites. The blueberry pancakes are so good! Of course they are huge and I ate some of them in addition to my waffle. We could have split just the pancakes and been perfectly happy. They cook berries inside the homemade batter and top them with a house-made blueberry compote. Maple syrup and soft butter on the side. The waffles are crispy outside with a light, airy, center, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. I had strawberries on the side (+$5 !!). Since I ate some of W's pancakes, we took half the waffles home. W had a drip coffee--no decalf available so I had the fresh-squeezed OJ. It was a large glass so I took half of that home, too. The coffee was nothing to rave about, but it was coffee. Service was friendly and efficient--there is only one cook and one server, and it seems several of us arrived at the same time on this Sunday morning. Overall a wonderful find that we will return to so we can explore more dishes. We saw omelets and Benedict's come out that looked amazing! Plus, I want to try the dinner menu, which also looked pretty amazing.
