This is a great place to have lunch with friends and family. It's such a conversation piece to begin with. Sooooo much history here and the surrounding area. We had the best time. We ended up ordering off the appetizer menu so we could sample a little of everything. We ordered the fries which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We all had the wings and the ribs which reminded me of the Korean bbq. Very tasty. We also ordered the combo platter that had a variety of cheese, sausage, and pretzel. We ordered their fresh lemonade!! Wowza! Sooooo refreshing. Now...the dessert! Pumpkin cake and key lime pie!! YUMMY!!! We had great service. This place was such a great, unexpected surprise and what I could see might be a gem in Richmond. The views from this restaurant and area are spectacular. First, I had no idea they had businesses in the Richmond Ferry Building and that they had renovated the area so beautifully. Second, the food was tasty and fresh, offered good portions, service was fast and pleasant. My friend and I shared the pancakes, which were good. Kudos for the blueberry butter. One of the few pancakes I've ever eaten that could get away with just one small serving of syrup. The omelette was mine. I like it, I particularly liked how well diced they the filling ingredients. Only wish was that they filling would have been held together more by the cheese. It sort of freely flowed out the omelette when cut. But overall flavor was good. My friend liked the Sopas, which I also tasted. They set it up to be like an eggs Benedict, minus the hollandaise sauce. Four stars for the food. 1 star for the service. I called to increase our reservation from 2 to 3 people and the guy couldn't have had less personality. Total turn off. Pretty sure he was our server too. I asked for a separate check since it makes things easier when dining with friends. He did they could split checks but not give me my own bill. What? What day and age do we live in? He said he'd see what he could do..i ended up with my own check. Yay. The place was half full at noon on a Saturday and it took forever to get mixed drinks. My food came out at least 8 minutes before my friends. We were never asked how our food was. Our busser was on top of our table because my friend speaks Spanish. Otherwise our server was absent most of the time. Beer on tap = 2 choices. Menu has great variety and was reasonably priced. The jaz burger was really tasty. It dripped down my hands. The sauce was really good and the burger had a good cook as did the bacon. Fries were a little bland and under cooked. So, my only reason for three stars is the seasonal menu. I had seen in so many Yelp reviews that they had shrimp and grits and it tasted fantastic. Sadly, when we visited, it was not on the menu. Maybe it's only a weekday item, or the menu is seasonal. Instead, I had Cajun shrimp pasta. It was good, but not what I was hoping to get. My husband had a burger and he liked his. I've been to Assemble several times now and I love it. It's right next to the Craneway Pavilion and directly across from the Rosie the Riveter museum. On a clear day, you get a wonderful 180 view of the Bay Area (Berkeley, Oakland, Treasure Island, San Francisco, and Marin). It's worth taking a nice stroll after having a delicious meal at Assemble. I have had both lunch and brunch at the restaurant. Everything had fresh local ingredients with some housemade items and everything was so delightful. These are the items I have had at Assemble: Assemble Breakfast - A simple breakfast that I loved so much. I got my eggs nicely poached and opted for the bacon instead of the ham. I loved their homefries because they dice the potatoes into small pieces so you get a mouthful of crispy potatoes. And the sourdough they serve with it is nicely toasted on the outside, but super soft on the inside. Fried Chicken Sandwich - Oh. My. Gosh. I loved this chicken sandwich. It's a good portion and the chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Perfectly cooked with a nice balance of heat from the pickled jalapeños. The fried basil is a fantastic touch. I need to have another one of these sandwiches very, very soon. Grilled Chicken Citrus Salad - This is a pretty salad. It's very light, but filling. There's slices of orange and blood orange, which were fresh and flavorful. I loved the dressing. Avocado Toast - Ermahgerd! I loved the avocado toast. I wasn't sure how the chia seeds and pumpkins would work with the dish, but they did! They added a nice, crunchy element to the dish. The egg was poached perfectly. The dressing on the mixed greens was so good. Smoked Salmon Salad - This is a hearty salad. This was another dish I really loved. You get a nice portion of the smoked salmon, but it's a nice balance between that and the mixed greens. Miso Roasted Eggplant - Another light, but hearty dish. There's a lot of nice flavors that compliment each other. The eggplant was nicely cooked. Shrimp Fried Rice - I've had this both with and without shrimp. One of my friends is allergic to shrimp so they made sure to not include it in the dish. It was both good with and without the shrimp! The rice wasn't too salty and the soft boiled egg was a very nice touch. Bread Pudding French Toast - Wow. This was pretty amazing. I don't think this is something I could eat by myself. It's definitely worth sharing while having a cup of coffee. It was very delectable. Orange Cardamom Creme Brulee - This was a very nice creme brulee. The orange is very subtle. The portion is a nice size, where you don't have to share if you don't want to. Actually, don't share it. Have it all to yourself! Cookie Plate - A nice assortment of cookies made in-house. There's even a potato chip one. Potato. Chip. Cookie. Get it! Chocolate Ice Cream - This ice cream was amazing!!! They make the ice cream in-house and it was the best. I loved it. Aperol Spritz - Nothing wrong with a good old fashion Aperol Spritz! They added a thick slice of blood orange, which you could really taste in the drink. I really liked this drink. Clementine Gin & Tonic - I love a good G&T and this one delivers. You could tell it's made in-house. I really recommend this drink. I really love Assemble. There wasn't anything I didn't like. View is great and staff are nice. Pricey and food did not meet my expectation for the hype. I ordered Maiala Tonnato and was excited, but the sandwich came dry and I could not even taste the Maiala. Definitely worth it! Restaurant had steampunk decor which fits in perfectly as the site is on WWII shipyard. (The Rosie the riverter National Park was next door and there is a nice memorial for the shipyard workers right on the bay trail.) We went on a clear day and the view was amazing as you can see the San Francisco city skyline. Service: greeted and seated right away. We got drinks so quickly, that we didn't get to finish looking through menu! Food-wise: I got Dave's fave and it was so good. Chicken was lightly fried and perfect - not over cooked. The egg was a special touch that reminded me of Vietnamese sandwich at Ba Le. My mom got the spicy garlic crab. She loved the crab and the pasta. My sister got the clam chowder bread bowl. Visited this restaurant awhile back for lunch because it was close to "Rosie the riveter national historic sight" The food was very good especially the seafood salad. It was on the menu with as mixed seafood, but I ordered it with just shrimp. The waiter was pleasant, but we felt ignored when we first walked in perhaps because there looked like a large party was just breaking up. Our lunch with ice tea amounted to $50 for the two of us, so a little pricey. The place used to be a car assembly plant so quite unique looking and perfect for a historic waterfront location. The entire area is very nice and worth a visit if you haven't been to Richmond lately. read more

Industrial style SMALL dive right next to the water. Open atmosphere and decent food. Has a bar with liquor and beer. 4 stars for the flavor of the food, but probably 3 stars for the presentation. I had a bowl of clam chowder that costs $6 for 6 oz. As you can see in the photo, it wasn't chowder like, but similar consistency to zuppa toscana type of soup. Flavor was great. The burger was $14 but came with fries. That was good too. Thick patty and cooked nicely. Overall, the vibe and food made it a good choice. They also have brunch on weekends that I have yet to try. Their set up is self explanatory with the menus and reining rules clearly posted & the tables are a carefully calculated distance apart from each other. The menu is kind of limited and a little pricey but they have good food. I got a bowl of the pozole and enjoyed it. It was was way more than what I was expecting and definitely filled me up. It comes with tortilla chips, green cabbage, lime, chili sauce and jalapeños/cauliflower on the side. I tried some of their freshly baked cookies (snickerdoodle and I forgot the other one) and they had good flavor but I personally wouldn't order them for myself. I am super impressed by this place. Came across Assemble by way of yelp, and it was pretty much as described. Food is outstanding. The view and atmosphere are great. Service is adequate. You have to search for the place, because google maps leaves you about a 5 minute walk from the actually restaurant. Just keep driving towards the Rosie the Riveter museum and you won't miss it. The chicken for the chicken and waffles was super delicious, and very kid friendly. The $15 burger was incredibly tasty. The fries were on point. The beignets were the real deal, and honestly better than the ones at Angeline's in Berkeley. The shrimp and grits were a bit of a let down for me, but my wife enjoyed them. Where could we go as we're at the former Ford assembly plant location which is very isolated. Should I do a Yelp? As we headed over to Rosie I spotted a place to eat. Read the posted menu and decided we'll eat here as it was directly across from Rosie. Hubby went with the fried chicken tenders smothered in gravy over rice. I went with the buttermilk pancakes. Both dishes were a 3.5 rating. He had a Bloody Mary & I had a mimosa. Bill came to $60 including tax & tip. VERY DISAPPOINTING. My friend and I went there today at 12:30 pm. for brunch. We were seated after waiting about 10 minutes. A waitress came to acknowledge us after about another 10 minutes of being seated. She took our order - French toast for each of us, and served us water. We waited for 1 HOUR and our French toast has not arrived. I called the attention of the person who sat us. She said she was going to check on it. She returned from the kitchen and told me that they are just "plating" our order. We told her that we can not wait anymore and we left. By the way, our table top was sticky. I wanted to update this review because very needed changes were made and now it's our go-to spot! The wonderful team from Brezo is now sharing their culinary talents Wednesday through Sunday. Their brunch and lunches are superb. The bar staff is great and they do indeed serve stiff cocktails. On other days and in the afternoon you can find an oyster bar which is really good and BBQ which is so-so. It's worth the trip and stay for the beautiful view. It's also dog friendly! We both get the tri-tip sandwich, with salad instead of fries. It was tasty delicious & so generous in size that we each brought half a sandwich home to finish off tomorrow. Hopefully they will expand their menu to include a tri-tip salad for those of us trying to avoid bread, like they did at old Brazos. Restroom was clean. This place is interesting looking as it's inside a building that is historical and was a factory for ships or cars for the military. It's distinctive but not very pretty. It's dark and busy. Food was okay. We liked the eggs, sausages and bacon. The beignets were boring and over priced. A few small pieces of fried dough covered with too much powder sugar and some maple syrup for about 8 dollars. We ordered two extra eggs, one egg entree and beignets with a cup of coffee that came out to be over 30 dollars. Consistently good food at the restaurant! I LOVE the location as well, located inside an old warehouse! I recommend just taking a few minutes to look around at the inside and outside of the building, so much machinery is still around and it's pretty cool to inspect for anyone that is interested in mechanics or the history of the area. Additionally, I've never had a bad meal here! Unfortunately, some items aren't as great as others and they tend to run out of popular items quite a bit. GET THE SOUP OF THE DAY! I can't recommend this enough! I've gotten the soup every time I've come here and it's consistently delicious!! It's never your "typical" soup either which is nice. It's always packed with people, but even so, they serve you pretty quickly. They have top-notch food, and have the best burgers I've ever had. Seating is always a breeze, and the food is made fresh. The chef tries different menu items here and there, and especially on holidays. I remember once trying a dish that didn't go as well as expected. The owner, who is all about making sure patrons have a pleasant experience, took our beverages off the tab and also gave us a discount for our next visit. Either way, I'd still go back. Shrimp fried rice (4/5): There were a lot of non-traditional ingredients in there (edamame, sun dried tomatoes, squash, soft-boiled egg), but it actually turned out pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the eggs were cold, so I covered it with some rice for a bit to warm it up. Sesame cheesecake (1/5): Kudos to them for being creative! But our party didn't like it, since it was more cake-like-texture but tasted like cream cheese with sesame seeds...very creative. I've also had their burger and fish and chips before, their fries isn't my favorite (not salty enough or crunchy), so I started getting other dishes. Well, well, well, isn't this cute. This is quite a hidden gem (literally) this restaurant is located behind the Craneway Pavilion. As I entered I see Mad Men on the screen, and the smooth, golden voice of Frank Sinatra was wafting all around. I had Aseemble bookmarked for quite some time, and with a little time to kill it was my opportunity to partake. I took a seat at the bar, and the friendly bartender served up "The Paloma"; a cocktail with St. Germaine, grapefruit juice, other things I can't remember, and a salted rim. It was tasty and refreshing. To nosh on I decided on the homemade BBQ chips with onion dip. The chips had the perfect balance of crispness and spice, and the carmelized onions in the dip had a great flavor without being overpowering. When I asked the waitress about the dish, she said it was "good, very generous portion." This is a cool, wonderful, place full of character. Essentially a large production warehouse space with a lot of the old equipment as a part of the theme. It really works and feels light and airy without being oppressive. We came for brunch with friends and each of us had the Cobb salad and the friends shared an omelet. We started with a decadent batch of donut holes with walnuts and bacon....don't pass it up, even if you try only half of one. The salad was large, tasty and had a variety of ingredients. It came in a wood bowl and was most satiafying. Bits of bacon and nuts accompanied it too. The egg was well prepared and nicely sliced on top.
