We ordered delivery via Postmates on a Sunday evening. Our order was accurate and arrived on time. Ordered: -scallops pesto (delicious, lots of herbs, large portion, way too much butter) -fettuccine alfredo (tasty, large portion, too much butter/oil) Pros: -flavorful food -large portions (the pasta portion was large and it came with a decent salad and two rolls) -customizable menu items -reasonable prices -easy delivery via Postmates -still warm upon arrival Cons: -the dishes we ordered had way too much butter in them. The excess pools of butter really took away from the rest of the dish. We had to use numerous paper towels to remove as much butter as we could. Even after that there was still too much fat for our taste. Perhaps they could have an option where you could opt for reduced butter? -the salad was very wet. This was not a big issue but it was kind of unexpected and strange to eat a salad out of a pool of water. I am glad the veggies were washed though! Recommend: filling up on the salad and then having a small side of pasta. Also ask for a reduced butter option if they offer it. read more

Based off of the Yelp reviews I decided to order take out from Assaggio's this evening. I wasn't feeling pizza or pasta so I ordered a turkey sub and I wasn't very impressed. The bread was crispy and delicious but I wasn't blown away by the fillings. There was barely any turkey on the sandwich. Maybe it was a fluke, but I wouldn't order this sandwich again. When I go to Raleigh, I see this restaurant from the light on the left. Otherwise, I forget because it's not typically in sight, therefore it's been on my mind to try for years. It hit my brain when we were in that specific area for an event. Entrée's come with 2 garlic knots and a salad. Garlic knots were delicious. The Ceasar salad was good too but not typical. It wasn't tossed with dressing like normal, it was drizzled on and you mix it. The homemade lasagna was second to mine... it was AMAZING and enough for 2 if you wanted to split. We also got the Gnocchi which was also delicious. I considered adding grilled chicken or sausage but didn't because we also had lasagna. If it had been my only Entree and we weren't sharing I would have added meat for protein. The best part is that everything was very cheesy which made me extremely happy since I LOVE cheese. We were too full for dessert. They do close earlier than the hours indicate. We were hanging out talking and realized they were closing about 9:00 versus 11:00 on the site and Google. read more

I've ate here before and ordered pizza and pasta and it was always really good. Well it had been a long time since I had come here and my food wasn't good this time. It was nasty actually. I got shrimp scampi and it lacked flavor. It honestly tasted comparable or worst than like an Olive Garden or somewhere like that which is shocking if it's supposed to be an authentic italian restaurant. This place was near my house and I really enjoyed their food. First visit I tried the lunch portion of the Penne Santa Lucia then added chicken. Pasta was hearty and I liked how the sauce wasn't runny. Probably won't add the chicken next visit. It was already flavorful without it and to me the chicken changed the fluidity of it.
