I want to like this place so badly because who doesn't love a good steak house? My husband and I have eaten here twice just to give it a fair chance. Honestly the food isn't bad, but the service kills the whole experience for us. I ordered the filet mignon, medium, with steak fries and steamed brocoli. The filet mignon was properly cooked. If you're a picky eater you may find it needs a little more seasoning, but I definitely enjoyed it. The steak fries were hot and freshly fried but not great. I'm not sure whether they should be fried a little longer or if it has to do with their choice of potato or oil, but I've had better. The steamed brocoli was served raw. Not a big deal for me, I often eat it raw, but it's an error nevertheless. If they pay a little more attention to their sides they'd easily get 4 stars from me next time. read more

Excellent place to eat. Highly recommend. We ordered an appetizer bruschetta with mozzarella which was served like a pizza and was excellent, rib eye dinner to share, seasoned and cooked perfectly, (plenty for 2 and excellent) mashed potatoes, veggies steamed perfectly. We each had a salad and bread. Very happy with it. Dessert was one of the best in the country and I have eaten many Creme brûlées in my time. We each had a cocktail and our bill was less than $60. Tap beer was so cold almost like keg was in ice. Mike was our server. Very attentive and personable and there were several tables he was serving. I'm just shocked at tonight's food and service. Meal took forever to arrive and it was extremely overcooked. Manager comped meal but was not happy with us about it. We ate here twice in a 2 week time period while staying at the Red Lion as we traveled to and from Jackson Hole, WY. We ate back in the Dining Room (away from the Casino smoke.) Both times, the food was excellent. 8 oz sirloin steaks with a glaze of bourbon mushroom sauce with two sides of our choice, salad, bread, etc. for $21. The staff were attentive, made sure food was to our liking, filled our water glasses, etc. I recommend this place! read more

Disappointing meal last night. Our waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was great but the food was lacking. The ribs were tough tough and lacked flavor and chicken fettuccini was over cooked and bland. I hope things improve because the restaurant is very nice. read more

Excellent food! Quiet and comfortable atmosphere, and we were able to get seating quickly during Cowboy Poetry which my birthday always includes. We have been there several times and have no complaints. The servers are always very personable and take the time to get to know you. My only con would be how dark it is, I like a bit more lumens to see my food. But we will gladly go back again! read more

My dad and I had dinner here last night while on a business trip. It's really hard for me to eat ANYWHERE while we travel due to all my allergies. The server totally got it and made sure to write allergy on his ticket and talk to the chefs about it. As dinner was winding down, talk about dessert went round the table. I was sure I wouldn't be able to eat anything. The server came back to our table with news that chef Anton would be able to create something for me. The server ( I wish I knew his name) came back to the table in excitement and presented me a very beautiful fruit plate! We had an unexpected delicious dinner on our way from Jackson, Wy to California. We ate at the bar fairly early and had no trouble with the casino smoke. The staff whom we encountered were all pleasant and efficient in their tasks. The food was tremendous. The offerings were unique and memorable. I am still looking for a copy recipe of our stuffed chile appetizer. I would come back, bringing big bucks as it was not cheap, but still a pretty good buy considering the quality. read more

My family and I decided to give Aspens a second try for my birthday dinner, and the second we spoke to the hostess I had instant regret. You see the last time we dined at Aspens was not a great experience but last night was just horrible enough that I feel the need to share with the online world of yelp. The hostess was rude and uninviting. She looked at my family with annoyance when she asked me if a table was ok, I asked if we could be placed in a booth and she acted like i ruined her evening. My family (5 of us) sat at the booth and waited about 15 minutes before our server came and gave us water and took our drink order and walked away. I noticed the manager (Tommy i think her name is) walk by us and look at my family with disapproval, or annoyance not sure I can not read minds and didn't see her smug face the rest of the evening. Fast forward to about 45 minutes we received our food. 1. my son ordered grilled cheese and french fries ( he is 6), his fries were very dry and disgusting and his grilled cheese was ok. 2. my husband ordered steak medium well and shrimp with black beans and mashed potatoes. his steak was the size of my sons palm and bloody as heck, his black beans were overly seasoned with mint. 3. I ordered ribeye medium well with rice pilaf and baked potato, my sides were ok but my ribeye was very well done and super hard to chew, Zero flavor. 4. my daughter ordered chicken fettuccine and it was a disgusting glob of stuck together noodles, like it was sitting in the pot for a long time. 5. my other daughter ordered fish and chips which came out looking like the best thing at our table minus the overly dry french fries. 4 of us ate there on 11/1/15 and all ordered something different. All meals were absolutely terrible, my sliders were microwaved and had 0 flavor. All 4 of us are having stomach issues and visiting the restroom frequently. Everything about it was terrible including the salads left in the fridge for way too long. We dined on 7/25/12 at 5:15pm after our Kabuki incident. We couldn't get into the red Lion buffet because I was told that they didn't have any seating.The first thing that happened was my husband got smaked in the head with the waiters round tray. That made him mad and whats worse, no on said, " I am sorry" they put us in the center where the lighting was bad. Then as we were seated the hostess looked at us dumbly when we told her " where are the high chairs for out two year old. He can't sit on a seat he would fall." SHE DID NOTHING. WE HAD TO GO AND SCOUT OUT THROUGH THE RESTRAUNT. She stood there right in front of the table and looked at us. Then when we finally got the high chair SHE WOULDN'T MOVE so we could place the high chair infront of the table. We were like HELLO?? Second, every chicken item has cheese, why I don't know. Why can't they cook chicken without cheese? I ordered the Chicken with Gouda and the chicken was pink inside but you can't verify it because the lighting is so dim. We were not seated in an area that had lamps over us. There is cheese inside and it spills out on to the plate and it burns turning into burnt mess. So we were left blinding groping for our food. The apple sauce on the chicken was great. Warning if you get the garlic bread you will get raw garlic. That is nasty. They do serve in large portions. But we were left with a question on the bill because it was ten dollars too high then what we were calculating and we ordered water and on ice tea. I think the next time I won't order the chicken and cheese slop, more so towards the beef. The grilled cheese that our two year old had was okay but the mac and cheese that our 8 year old had was the higlight of the evening. Yes I know that thats sad that an eight year olds plate was better than a 18 chicken and cheese plate, but I think the next time that we go to dine we are going to need a cattle prode to move the hostess and to get her to get a high chair. read more
