My daughter always orders from here and says she has had never had a bad meal.. so OK, Door Dash gave me % off so why not try it. Ordered her meal that she always gets, and I got sweet and sour. This place is in a small business strip. It's clean and quaint. The food was served piping hot literally fresh off the grill. We've been going here for years. HOWEVER the owner is as rude as all get out. He's ALWAYS rude on the phone and not much better in person with the exception of tonight. My husband ran in to grab our order and the man wanted to be rude because he asked for an extra piece of plastic ware. "ONE CoMBO ONE PIECE" he snapped at my husband. Are you freakin kidding me?!?!?! Then my husband said he forgot to sign his credit card receipt and the man snapped at him and said "HERE SIGN IT!" as he threw it across the counter!!!! This is definitely my new Chinese food spot in this area as the food is made fresh, affordable, and offers a wide selection. Great choice in Kenosha area! I am new to the area so I haven't had a chance to try the local Asian food options, but on Lunar New Year I was desperate for some Asian cuisine to get into the spirit, so gave this place a try! I ordered a lunch special for carry out (no dine-in due to Covid right now anyway). Their online menu was well done and lunch specials easy to find, which I appreciated. And I did order by calling before I left my house, which was easy and painless. Upon arrival, the restaurant is clean and they have set it up well for Covid precautions. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special with an egg roll. For less than $8, I got a great amount of food. It was piping hot and had a ton of fresh veggies and lots of chicken. I was really impressed with the quality of the food I received here. It was all very mild, which is OK with me. I added hot mustard which is my preferred spice for Asian food, but, if you like things spicy, you can request that when ordering. The egg roll was deliciously crispy and very good!! Been craving Asian food and wanted to skip the popular chain nearby. Ordered the seafood combo and shrimp fried rice and crab Rangoon. First, they had incredible COVID-19 restrictions in place (if you're worried). The entire pick-up/order counter is behind plexiglass with a pass through for the receipt and food bags. We waited 10 minutes for the food and wow were we pleased! The serving sizes were great and the seafood combo had a small lobster tale among the other delicious proteins. And some regular fried rice. They up charge you $2.00 for the fried rice. It just yellow rice but then you can smell the grease in it and nothing else.that is what turns it yellow just drowned it in canola oil they didn't put egg peas or carrot pieces in it. Fresh food made to order and very conscious of cleanliness, especially due to the pandemic. However..... I pretty much order the same thing 'occasionally ' mixing it up. Not only have they down sized (you don't get a full order of rice anymore) but they're charging the same prices?!?!?! So disappointed! Which lead me to go & read the newest posted reviews. They don't seem to understand word of mouth. Well, looks like I travel a little farther and go back to Chen's! As a senior living in the Covid-19 world I was very unnerved by ordering my favorite Chinese food from Asian Taste. But I found a serious resolution to their busy take out business. The small store front had a sign telling customers they allow only 5 people at a time to enter. I watched others go in and out before doning my mask and gloves to enter. Inside the desk area had been completed transformed. The open kitchen and front desk were behind floor to ceiling plexiglass. You swipe or tap your credit card and they place your order in a specially made one way box that you open outside the enclosed area to get your order. Everyone cooking and servicing the desk wore masks. I was extremely impressed with their ingenuity and care for their customers safety. Oh, and the food was delicious as always. Asian Taste looks like a clone of every strip mall Chinese restaurant you've ever been to -- from the illuminated menu pictures above the counter to the limited seating. While it looks unremarkable, the food preparation is very speedy and very tasty. The crab Rangoon were delivered to our table mere minutes after we ordered and were plump with cream cheese. The fried dumplings were equally wonderful. Our entrees showed up before we were finished with our second Rangoon and were about the temperature of the surface of the sun. Both the bourbon chicken and Szechuan beef tasted fantastic and the portions were large enough that both my son and I were full at about the halfway point -- and they were still steaming hot. The only big negative of the meal were the egg rolls. They weren't particularly hot or crispy and the flavor was bland at best. In fact, they reminded me of something I'd get at a high school cafeteria. At the end of the day, Asian Taste is still just strip mall Chinese food, but it's darn good and a big step better than Panda Express. read more

Something has changed here, they are now using dark meat in their sesame chicken which leads to an unappetizing texture in your mouth when you bite into the chicken. It is too mushy and makes you think that it is just fat. I've ordered schezwan beef and chicken and both times I would have guessed I ordered something else. Not a schezwan flavor and definitely not spicy. The prices aren't bad but not nearly enough to make me come back. I was also a little disappointed with the service when dining in the restaurant. This hidden gem in the Kenosha area serves excellent quality, cheap, fast Chinese food in a clean, well-lit, quiet restaurant. The menu has the typical staples you come to expect from an American-Chinese restaurant, but with a much fresher, cleaner taste than the typical Chinese restaurant. Meats are never gristly, veggies are fresh, nothing is ever greasy or heavy. The inside of the restaurant itself is immaculate, and it thankfully doesn't have the ubiquitous blaring HDTV so popular in restaurants now. The employees are friendly and hustle to get your food to you with lightning fast speed. My only complaint is that the food seems to be geared towards a Wisconsin palate, so even when I order the "spicy" dishes they're a bit too mild. There have been times I get out of work late and ask to pick up food after hours and the owners have stayed open late for me so I can pick up my meal. First time doing take out today and i was really impressed. They have refurbed the food delivery area to make it Covid19 safe by putting in a glass wall and microphone system to the person taking orders. Food portions were excellent.
