Sublime Chinese & Japanese! My sushi- had the Godzilla roll-- so fresh and flavorful! The soup! Great to the last drop Miso. My dinner mate had a Chinese combo plate he loved and had plenty to take home. He loved his egg drop soup too! We will be regulars. Merisa, who served our table was so kind. read more

Have frequented this place, about 5 times through the years. First two times, I recall, we had our portions in platters. After that, just a dinner plate. Today, I ordered two combination plates. Only to receive our food in a lunch container... Food was fine. But I was not remotely full with the portions. Couldnt serve me tap water. But boiled some for tea... I don't think, I'll be eating here again. read more

Truly bewildered by the reviews claiming this is "the best in Kenosha". I gave this place the benefit of the doubt and I regret it. Extremely inattentive and apathetic customer service. Upon arrival, the restaurant was completely empty (at 12:30pm on a Saturday), which should have been a red flag. There was nobody behind the counter. I was not greeted nor given a menu. I picked up my own menu and seated myself. A woman shuffled around the dining room, passing me multiple times and completely ignoring me until I finally waved at her enough times. I asked for a cup of water and she tried to make me buy a bottle of water. Does the restaurant not have potable water? I ended up getting a can of soda. No glass given until I asked. No straw given; I had to get up and get it myself. The waitress took my order without writing it down, which should have been red flag #2. She then emerged ~5 minutes later with the appetizer I ordered: some truly disgusting and tasteless crab rangoon, and an entirely different entree than what I had ordered. I told her it was the incorrect dish and she tried to give it to me anyway. Guess she should have written it down! She offered to have me keep the incorrect entree while she went back to make the correct one. I told her I would just eat the slop she brought me, which was pretty awful with frozen vegetables thawed in a gelatinous sludge with a few pieces of shrimp. I ate about half and gave up. The restaurant was so freezing cold that by the time I tried the rice, it was also cold. No sauce for the egg roll that comes with your lunch special. Awful, tasteless, poorly prepared, poorly presented, mediocre, forgettable food all around. I declined any further delicacies, so the waitress brought me the bill, where she had elected to charge me for the incorrect entree that I never ordered! Absolutely pathetic customer service, and since the food was so bad, I see no ever reason to ever visit here again. Please don't waste your time. The Subway next door is unironically a better choice. 0/10 read more

Had the Gen Tso chicken. Very good great service also looking forward to returning to try more dishes

I've been to a few places in Kenosha for Chinese food. This place by far the best one! I didn't get the waitresses name but she was awesome. We'll definitely be coming back. Prices were fair! 2 dishes, 1 appetizer & three sodas for like 32 dollars. read more

Just ordered from here... the prices were VERY misleading. I believe it's important for restaurants to be honest with prices, I wouldn't have ordered all of the food if I knew about the "secret up-charge". This being said, the service was great. The woman working in the front was very kind too. The food was also good too. I just wish they could've been more clear about pricing read more

the best in kenosha ! food is always flavorful and filling. i haven't used their dine-in option but this was a staple we used to order all the time! don't let the reviews steer you away, the food is always hot and fresh and yummy. the cashier is sweet too. enjoy ! read more

Just ordered delivery and this will be my last time..Old meat and rice and shrimp firied rice tastes fried over...Sweet and sour chicken has old chicken I will never order again read more

Just saw this place pop up while getting a haircut at great clips next door this Sunday. So, I'd figure I'd give it a try. I ordered the curry chicken with pork fried rice for take out. Order took about 5-10 minutes to prepare. The staff was very friendly. Now to the food. The rice was very good. It wasn't too greasy or bland. It was just right. Very favorable with the right amount of veggies (I like veggies). The curry chicken was lightly glazed and was perfect. The meal itself was slightly spicy but I like spicy so it was great. Overall great first time meal here. My stomach didn't feel like crap like some other Chinese joints out there and it filled me up. Going to bring my wife over here for lunch sometime in the near future. Give it a try. ps they also server sushi but not until next week. No biggie as they literally just opened recently. read more

China Star - Curry Chicken with Pork Fried Rice (takeout) - Japanese Near Me - Kenosha, Wisconsin

I ordered this for delivery. It all came hot which was great. It seemed to take quite a while before they prepared it though as I live only 10 minutes from there. I really didn't expect it to take the whole hour plus that the delivery service quoted. Maybe they were hopping at the actual restaurant or had a lot of deliveries and pick ups. There were no chopsticks included as requested though so I had to hunt around the house for some. (Just moved so my own nice wooden and plastic ones are MIA currently.) I really hate eating any type of Asian food with a fork. I've practiced since I was small to be proficient with them. Just doesn't taste as good without that effort. Lol I'd like to give more stars cause the crab Rangoons ARE some of the best I've ever tasted. The lo mein was just what I have been looking for noodle wise for a long time. (Others have been way too thin and not so great.) The white rice was the perfect amount of sticky to make it easy to use with chopsticks. And it all came nice and hot as I said above. Truly unfortunate but the Orange Chicken was really just meh. Very bland so that really brought the whole meal down since it was the main course. It's supposed to be a spicy dish. (China Star even describes it as such on the menu.) And it was not at all. I like the spicier dishes usually. If only the orange chicken wasn't so boring, I would have given a 4 star rating. read more

Never order delivery with these folks! Ordered $36 worth of food, waited 15 minutes to get delivered the driver texted my phone "china star driver" Hmmm...ok, i texted back "need help finding us?" She calls my phone and says "thought you would call me instead of text me"...huh? Anyway, couldn't find our house, apparently she doesn't know how to use Google Maps to find an address that's in a pretty non rural area... rude as hell to boot. Called the restaurant and the owner says "you want to cancel the order"? okay and hangs up the phone. Awesome customer retention! Lesson learned, I'll never stray from Panda Szechuan Chinese restaurant again. read more

China Star more like China no stars! This is too greasy and not flavorful enough to be called Chinese food. Don't waste your money.

I ordered Kung Pau Chicken for my dinner. It looked absolutely delicious. There was NO chicken under the breading--None. Maybe beaks and feathers but literally I bought 11$ of Rice and breading. What a scam. Be warned, unless you can see the chicken meat, you will get none. I bit into over half the pieces--- all the same nothing that resembles chicken inside. There are also 4 stalks of broccol, so that is what I ate. Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

China Star - Misoday to you :) - Japanese Near Me - Kenosha, Wisconsin

Honestly, was just passing through after hitting up the Mars Cheese castle, and was not expecting much as we walked through the doors but it turned out to be some of the best American chinese food I've had in a long time. In the time we sat at our table waiting for our food, a good 12 customers or so came through for take out and dine in. Immediately i thought that this must be a town favorite. The dishes were fresh, and even though the sushi was sliced thin, they offer two pieces not one and was actually good. I had the boneless bbq spare ribs, which in my experiences range from chew toy to burnt bones in sauce. The sauce was really flavorful and the meat was fresh tasting and tender. The general tso was also very tasty, though I would suggest asking for a bit more heat as it stood at a mild. My least favorite thing here was the wonton soup, but I'm still leaving with a very full and satisfied tummy. Meal for two ended up around the 25$ mark. read more

The only place I will get my Chinese food from! Great family owned business, very good people. I get the shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg rolls, and pepper steak. Not too expensive either. #monalisaofapproval read more

Great Chinese place. So I have been here 6 times now and no bad days. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ordered so far: shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg foo young, crab ragoon, shrimp lo mein, & yang chow fried rice. All seafood until our fast is over then I will be able to order the meats and update you all. Crab ragoon is sweet and awesome, you don't even need the sweet and sour sauce. Shrimp fried rice is not greasy like some places and containers filled to the top. Full of shrimp and goodness. Shrimp egg foo young - patties are on the thin side would like more egg or to be thicker but does the trick. Shrimp lo mein - would like more shrimp but very flavorful. Yang chow fried rice - great it has pork in it I think we pulled them out (due to the fast we are on) but OMG so will order this when I can eat meat again. So good. Haven't tried the sushi yet but plan on it real soon. Will update once we try it. read more

Eaten here a few times and haven't been disappointed. Plus they have sushi, so that's a huge bonus for me! I've ordered quite a few different things and they've all tasted pretty good. Typical Americanized Chinese. Nothing out of the norm. (I still like Chens Bistro better) The sushi has been decent. Smaller portions of fish compared to other sushi places in town. As far as the quality it's better than the grocery store stuff, but I'll stick with an actual sushi restaurant if I really need my fix. read more

Love this place! Never eaten in the restaurant. Always get it to-go or delivery. We also always order online as you get points you can redeem for money off future purchases. We've tried several other places in Kenosha for Chinese but only found this and another place worth while. I suggest giving them a try! read more

This is our new Chinese and Japanese go-to restaurant for take out and delivery. We love the expansive menu of both Chinese and Japanese choices. Excellent customer service and the gentleman who took our large order read it back for clarification. Crab Rangoons were good, orange chicken was made with no spice per our request (for our kids), sushi and maki were awesome and favorite was the crunchy salad on the Japanese appetizer menu was the best. This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant in Kenosha. Spotless interior, and new clean furniture gives me confidence that the kitchen looks the same. Classic Americanized Chinese food, and the employees are so nice. I placed a to go order and as I waited the woman brought water. Great friendly service. Good Asian food for Kenosha, but not world class by any means. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Skip the hibachi- over cooked and dry meat. Crab Rangoon crispy and sweet.
