I like to always start out with the positives. We dined in and it was clean. Crab Rangoon was DELISH! The food was delivered to our table promptly. Fried rice was not good. Taste exactly like Uncle Ben's 90min microwave rice. Salt & Pepper Shrimp taste freezer burned. Szechuan beef wasn't terrible but wasn't spicy at all! The boneless ribs were NOT what we expected. We've had them a lot of other places and NEVER were they like shredded dry bits of pork. Not only was the food terrible but the PRICE $56 for this! We could not believe it and we thought EVERYTHING but the crab Rangoon was TERRIBLE. The service... we swore the woman behind the counter had ear plugs in... she was screaming at her workers she was screaming at the patrons at one point my fiancé said "I don't think we can stay here and eat, I can't listen to this" They brought our food out and he asked for another soda he gave her the money and we needed chopsticks the woman said "come" made me get up, follow her back up to the register so that she could hand me the chopsticks so that she didn't have to walk the "maybe" 10ft back to our table. We got takeout again this evening. Ordered prior to arriving. Got inside noticed tables full of people eating inside and the line of people waiting was long and togo orders kept ringing on the phone. The staff was hard busy cooking up orders and taking care of us customers. It moved along quick for amount of people. I saw a door dash guy there wished they would deliver to me, were to far out. I do not mind driving here though because the food has been consistent with quality and great taste. The house soup is delicious especially on cold evenings like now. After two years of wonderful service and great food, my daughter and granddaughter came down for a Mother's Day feast. We ordered $103 worth of food and took it to a picnic table on a beautiful Sunday. The service was friendly, food was delicious, very generous portions.  We are always looking for good Chinese/Asian food and this one is now at the top of our list.  We had the Lemon Chicken, Happy Family, Gen Tso's Chicken along with the dumplings, both steamed and fried and last but not least the Crab Rangoon which I have to say was absolutely delicious.  I normally do not care for the rangoon, it's definetly not the frozen rangoon you normally get, you could actually taste the crab and it had more than just a cream cheese taste.  I highly recommend Chen's Bistro and look forward to trying other menu options in the future. read more

First time ordering this through Door Dash and it was delicious. The steamed dumplings and tofu in garlic sauce was my favorite. Lo mein and Singapore noodles were also good. Tiniest easy to miss spot! It is the only restaurant There in the entire building. The food is super good and takes about 10-15 minutes for them to make everything. You walk in and order at the front. There is room to sit but there is no table service. For every $30 you spend you also get a liter of soda. We had mushroom shrimp, egg rolls, steamed dumplings, spare ribs, and a beef dish. Everything was really good. We will most likely come back. The special food are really expensive, the price is custom, not show in menus and they give really high price for sample food. For example, sour soup fish cost $35, but in Chicago downtown's most popular restaurant Lao Sze Chuan only cost $25 for same thing and same size. And they are not very friendly with Chinese people although they come from China. This used to be my favorite Chinese food restaurant, I ordered from this place recently and they changed a lot of things. First thing I noticed is the rice isn't authentic anymore they use a different grain that isn't supposed to be used for Chinese style rice it wasn't flavored at all I fed my son and daughter probably 2 spoons full of rice of this and I've took my son to the hospital the next day because it upset his stomach badly & he kept throwing up . we also ordered orange chicken we found a bone in it we tried hard to like it but even being hungry and wanting something in our stomachs we knew this wasn't how it was supposed to taste like we ordered chicken and broccoli as well we found a piece of chicken that was RUBBERY not chewy or food like RUBBERY . 4/28/2017 I tried this place for the first time. To my surprise it was good. I ordered shrimp fried rice, crab ragoon, veggie lo mein, shrimp egg foo young. Everything was delish, even the gravy. I totally agree with a previous poster - the beef dish I had seemed off..sour, or something. Additionally, I ordered a dish with NO mushrooms and they included anyway. I called back and they allowed me an $8.50 "credit" for my next order. I ordered again using the "credit" then they gave a sample size order (not at all the reg size that I previously ordered) and STILL there were mushrooms throughout. It's likely that they attempted to pick out the mushrooms instead of cooking to order...which is gross. read more

First of all I want to say this is the third time I've eaten Chen's Bistro this week. Second, I almost had to cancel my order because of this snow emergency (I had no way to pick up my order). But the fantastic people at Chen's delivered my delicious General Tso's chicken for no extra charge!! These people know how to run a business! I grew up in the Chicago area, so along with having my pick of authentic Chinese food, I've also sampled some actual chinese food in Hong Kong. Chen's is wonderful! The staff is wonderful, the portions are massive and the food is fantastic. My wife and I have been going to Chen's since it opened a couple years back and have not had a single bad experience. I highly recommend the Hot/Sour Soup.
