I've been a customer for almost 30 years. The food was always good in the past. I ordered beef and pea pods. The pea pods were not crisp and were yellow in color. The beef was mangled not clean cut slices. I tried to communicate with the restraunt but they use an answering service now. It took three calls and an hour later I finally recieved a call back. By far the best Chinese in Ktown. So much flavor and huge portions. I ordered two lunch specials and sides but I swear they gave me the largest dinner size! Never again. Never, never never again. Wanting to try something new, and not feeling like leaving work on my lunch break, I ordered General Tso's chicken with a side of crab rangoon. Delivery guy brought Orange Chicken instead of Tso's. To make matters worse, the chicken was unbelievably dry and the orange peels looked almost moldy. No sweet and sour sauce included with the crab (though I learned later that this is how they serve it. Weird.) Well, I called in to request that the driver (two minutes out the door) return my money and take the food back. This request was denied, with some attitude, as I was informed that I was wrong, and that I, in fact, ordered orange chicken, because that's what the employee I spoke to wrote down. Further, that I would have to leave work on my lunch break to go half way across town for a refund for the food, not my tip or delivery fee. Over the duration of the call (and I spent about 20 minutes arguing with this person) she kept trying to convince me of the fact that I actually ordered the orange chicken. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told "I took your order, so you can only talk to me." Then "The manager isn't in, and won't be until next month." My wife and I ordered their beef and broccoli and shrimp Lo mein for delivery. The gentleman that took my order was rude. He was very short with me and I could tell he did not care about costumer service. The delivery took an hour and the food was hot when it got to my house and it even tasted alright. However, about 45 minutes after I ate I became very ill. My stomach has been very upset and I hardly slept because I had to visit the bathroom throughout the night. I have not actually been inside this establishment to see the conditions but I am not happy that the food i ordered caused me to become ill. This restaurant recorded the wrong phone number on my receipt (mine is an entirely different area code) and when I called to see where my food was AFTER AN HOUR I was yelled at because I "gave them the wrong number" when really it was a mistake the restaurant made. When I asked to speak to the boss, the delivery person who answered the phone told me that he and his boss were busy and after I insisted, he let me talk to the boss. She was nicer, but still not very helpful. I argued with her that I should get a discount and she only agreed to refund the delivery fee. I live in the neighborhood and we order take-out and delivery often. I typically order the orange chicken, which is among the best I've had. Combos are cheap and come with egg roll and soda. Crab Rangoon is like a flat pastry, never had it prepared this way...incredible here. Not the cleanest place I've eaten, staff is kind of flaky. The food is excellent though.
