I have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years. Whether I place the order in person, they always know who I am by name, and if I have special requests, they know in advance. My meals are always on point; very well prepared and tasty. The quality and quantity of food is more than sufficient, as I usually have enough for two servings. If anything could be changed, it would have to be the dining room appearance. It has been some years since there was an issue with the flooring. The appearance is a distraction and could possibly send the wrong message to first time customers. Truth be told, I haven't seen a full dining room, but rather, more take-out business. First I have to say that everyone is very friendly at China House...GREAT customer service! Second, we enjoy the food and it's ready fast. My husband LOVES their Chicken LoMein and I love their egg rolls and egg drop soup. They also have good Chicken and Broccoli. I wish their Egg Foo Young gravy tasted better. The Egg Foo Young itself is good- the gravy-not so much. Also, the sauce that comes with the Sweet and Sour chicken is weird. We ordered some food over the phone. We had to go pick it up. Everything was delicious. We had Chow Mein. Husband had beef and I got shrimp. Both were really good. The woman on the phone helped us order because I always get confused on whether Chow Mein or Lo Mein are the soft noodles. The woman on her phone was so sweet and helpful! I'm SUPER excited because they actually have dumplings at this place. Not just some weak ass pot stickers. Their dumplings have a nice thick skin. The meat inside is delicious. This place doesn't beat out the dumplings from my favorite home town Chinese place but I'm so excited to get the dumpling fix I've been looking for!! My Food was GROSS. Bought two dishes with tofu in them. In the vegetable fried rice where I added tofu it was overcooked hard unseasoned tofu, overcooked rice, weirdly large chunks of carrot and was just generally not very good. The second dish was where I was beside myself. The tofu was raw! Completely raw and chopped into HUGE pieces. Much bigger than could ever be considered bite size. To add to that offense it was totally without seasoning. Raw tofu has an unpleasant scent and when added to the vegetable dish it made the entire dish have that unpleasant scent. Stinky nasty mess. Lastly I ordered cream cheese ragoons and received pork ragoons instead of which would only be mildy annoying if any other part of the meal was actually edible. Never again. Most unwelcoming looking restaurant I've prob ever been to. Meal served in their boxes with paper plates and plastic utensils. Was with my granddaughter. She really liked her food. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant! I always order the Chicken with Garlic sauce- a mix of vegetables with a sauce that is sweet but spicy tasting at the same time, I HIGHLY recommend it. I have been coming here since 2010, and I have to say that the restaurant has been worn down in color and because of use, but man do they make the best Chinese in town. Yes the food make come in cheap containers and a box, but that's part of the experience that you should give a try. The staff is very nice and friendly, and I believe that for the most part it is a family owned business. It can get a bit pricey considering I spend at least $18 every visit for myself. Most of the food comes in either a small or large size container with rice and can cost up to $10/ container if not a little more, which can usually feed two normal appetite adults. I on the other hand, can stuff myself with one container, saving the other for later. Please give it a try, the food is so good! read more
