Hate to be the Debbie downer on this place but I was not impressed at all with this place. My entrees were loaded with a very bland brown gravy ( totally tasteless ) and the low mein noodles were literally thick noodles with some broccoli thrown in for flavor... 1st and last visit for this place :( I will stick with my favorite Chinese in Antioch!!! read more

My girlfriend and I are avid fans and advocates for Panda Express though sometimes we do have an itch for something more "authentic" so we chose here tonight. First, we ordered online which was easy and didn't come with a headache which was nice. Pricing to me is very reasonable and they were even offering 10% off for online orders too which was a neat surprise! The food took about 15 minutes to complete which seemed pretty speedy. It was very clean inside and the woman who helped me pay and provided me our order was very friendly as well. They have a rather small dining area in there if you so choose to eat there but we took ours to go. We live about 25 minutes away and when we got home our food had kept a nice temperature which is always nice. The 3 star rating to me is rather fair because the food was alright just not anything I would write home about. The sweet and sour chicken and the broccoli and beef was average I felt that we got what we paid for. The Lo Mein was also decent and cooked properly the noodles were soft and the vegetables inside it offered a nice taste and crunch when needed. This also came with white rice which was nice to add to our bowls that we had created for ourselves. The best item we got hands down was the crab rangoon! It was crunchy on the ends and got softer towards the internal filling which tasted like most crab rangoon but with a tad bit of sweetness which was kind of cool. All in all the food was objectively alright just not anything that blew me away. Though I will say this spot a good option especially if you're looking for a more authentic experience in an area that does not have much of it to offer. So in total I have nothing bad to say. Lucky Chen's started out so strong when we moved here! Every order was a delight. My most recent order, Mongolian beef, S4- not very Mongolian. It's bland. The beef is nice enough, there are plenty of regular onions, there's carrot and (never seen that before) pea pods. But the gravy, or sauce? It's more like a jus. I wish this was the first time I had an issue. There has been a blandness that started about August. The Seafood Combination was trapped in a white sauce that was a bit undercooked. The Hunan Chicken was insipid. I have to watch gluten, but I sneaked a crab rangoon from a family member. THAT was very, very tasty! The Hot and Sour Soup is delicious! When I am not feeling well, nothing perks me up better than Lucky Chen's Hot and Sour Soup. Perhaps I ordering the wrong thing? As far as cleanliness and customer service, nobody has Lucky Chen's beat! I want to like this place so much!!! It's a drive down to Antioch, and longer to Kenosha. I love Chinese food! I will keep tasting, especially now that I have a paper menu, and hope it's my fault that I am not getting the dish that knocks my socks off. read more

We have ordered from here many times in the last few years, but the food today was outstanding! In the past, it was good, not consistent but ok. Today the flavors were so well balanced. Singapore mei fun was spicy but, not too much and so much flavor. The hot and sour soup was spot on! I hope this chef continues to deliver consistent quality food. read more

The food here is very good. What makes them excellent is that they offer gluten free for things they can do gluten free. Unfortunately every other month we are told they don't do gluten free. Since my daught has,an actual gluten allergy I will no longer order from this place unless I am assured they will do gluten free. I will not take her to the emergency room again. read more

This is basically a take out place for mostly Americanized Chinese food. For that, it is fine. If I really want authentic Chinese, I'd drive an hour to Chinatown in Chicago. Now to the food. Get the shrimp dishes..they have the giant prawns! The beef is also very tasty. The fried wonton are very meaty. Kids loves the soup. They changed the noodle in their lo mein recently and we like it. Coming from Illinois, it is hard to imagine a place where there are not many Chinese take-out places. But being that this is Wisconsin, I had toi deal with this reality. The only other one I have tried is China House in Kenosha, but I like this place a bit better. If you feel like Chinese food and are near Routes 83/75 and 50, try this place. Although a take out place, they do have a few tables and we ate in. You order at the counter and the food comes in take out containers, but they give you plastic plates. The food was mixed quality, with both the won ton and hot and sour soups being excellent. The egg rolls were OK. The General Tso;s chicken was quite good, but the Kung Pao chicken was tasteless. Good Americanized Chinese food, but be careful ordering because they lie about their portion sizes. They will try to upsell you into buying way more food than you need. My wife and I can eat our fill of a large order of food and have leftovers, but they'll tell you a large only feeds one. read more

The food quality has gone down, they have taken some ingredients out of their food and charge extra to put them into the food if you want it.
