Consistently good food and service. Very fast most times and rarely is an order mixed up. This is our favorite place in the area.

Food was okay.... Service sucked. At least put the phone down and pay attention when I'm placing an order.

However, the food was very bad. We ordered pad thai with tofu, and the dish that was brought out was about 75% massive, tasteless chunks of tofu. What few noodles could be found underneath all the tofu were mixed with chopped onion, diminishing their ratio even further. There was a tiny pile of about 1/2 tsp of ground peanuts added in one corner of the plate. The sauce tasted sour and burnt. One of the worst pad thai variations I've had in a long time. Still.. I wouldn't fault them just for having bad food, but within an hour of leaving the restaurant, both the spouse and I were having an upset stomach, and ended up not being able to finish our drive home without having to pull over and find a public restroom. I would chalk it up to coincidence, but my spouse revealed that when she used the restroom, there were prominent signs indicating that no one is allowed to flush any sort of toilet paper down the toilet, and instead has to put them in open bins sitting in each stall next to the toilet. Each stall in the restroom had open trash cans filled with used toilet paper full of fecal matter, which is pretty horrifying to think of in a restaurant serving food in a first world country. My spouse brought home her leftovers and heated up them the next morning and within a half hour of eating them, was already having an upset stomach again which endured for the remainder of the day. We would definitely not eat here again, and it seems like the health department probably needs to pay this place a visit.

Too many better places for my chinese fix nearby from Grayslake- I definitely will stick with my main HK from Mundelein for sure. Grabbed the physical menu when I went in to order and looked at it as online was too dense with not much info going- Physical menu is kind of weird when it comes to lunch/combo platter one side has some type of combo with egg roll on it other side only white or fried rice. Customer service with the plastic barrier made it seem less friendly. At this stage its very Tacky cloudy plastic barrier- no class whatsoever that should have been my second alarm bells going off when they did not bother to make it look nicer- First alarm bell one was when I walked in- stacks of carboard stuffed in the pop fridge? On the table? In the kitchen? Great for large takeout orders but with that faded sign barely showing the restaurant name and parking lot being kind of Round Lake. i felt like I walked in a homeless shelter for goodness sake. This was not a good first impression. When I was trying to choose, 4 people came in to pick up their orders. Clientle base seemed diverse. Eldery lady to the young lady dashing in giving me hope this was just the appearance of this place. Ordered and only had to wait 5 minutes! I ordered egg drop soup, orange chicken combo with pork egg roll and crab rangoon with cream cheese today. Egg roll- cabbage carrots pork - generic tasting nothing unique definitely can get the same thing from the food store freezer aisle (im lil of a snob with egg rolls) no homemade sauce- the generic sauce packet was available to grab Orange Chicken was made with dark meat and imagine chewing on chicken jerky- yes this was how annoying it was for me- it's infuriating when places overcook/fry the chicken to make it into stringy/jerk dish. Quit trying to make a meal out of it after 3 bites. Sauce itself nothing special- generic orange sauce with similar base to any dishes but dash of orange flavoring added to it. The fried rice- it was like eating couscous it was breaking apart yet al dente/firm like it needed to be steamed a tad bit more. Salty. Just grossest fried rice i have had better from the microwaved tv dinners. The egg drop soup could have done with more egg white. Too thick. Yeah like overdone with gelatin additive but not affect its taste. It was plain and not offending at all- just barebones. Would not upset anyone with fragile stomach to try this soup. If i had to eat there again its definitely the egg drop soup. Not salty at all. Crabmeat rangoon was the usual sweet/cream cheese type with imitation crabmeat in it. Nice amount I wouldnt complain at all- but one was more than enough for me due to the sweet factor. Now im dinging this place for no homemade sweet and sour sauce, not friendly face/tacky barrier, jerky chicken dish and royally missing the mark on fried rice. I am happy I ordered soup for once to keep me full til dinnertime.

Everything was fresh hot water came out. The food was just OK. I did not care for the egg rolls. The potstickers were fantastic. They were more like the gyoza that have a thin dough. My big complaint was no one ever really came and cleaned dishes off our table. So by the time we were eating we had the advertiser dishes and our dinner, dishes. more staff had come in so by the time we left, there was like 4-5 people in the building and nobody bothered to clean the dishes on our table. We did want a dessert but no one asked us. They did bring the bill. We told them we wanted dessert. They take the back the bill. We also had to tell them to take the dishes or we would not have been able to eat dessert. There was two of us and they brought us one spoon so we did tell them we needed another spoon. In terms of Service started out good with the one guy but then went downhill as more staff came in. Would try again but so many places to try so might not

Really great feeling when many local eats are more on the dark side. We started with the Crab Rangoon. Despite there being very little if any crab, these were really tasty. Crispy and hot, they had a lot of flavor. For Entrees, we had the Deluxe vegetables with chicken and Roasted Duck. The vegetables with chicken was a decent portion and was very flavorful. Chicken was thinly sliced and fresh. A very good dish. The roasted duck was a little drier but still good. I asked for it on the hot side, and they didn't disappoint. Wasn't too hot either. Service was really good. Food was fresh. A really great dinner. All in all, we will be back. I'd give it 4.5 stars due what seemed like little or no crab. But definitely worth your trying this place.

I got my order in a brown paper bag so I didn't really know the size of the container until I got home and pulled it out. Missing Lime wedge Round plastic container (clear top & black bottom recycle #1 dishwasher safe) I opened fairly hot container (4 miles home) making sure I stuck my nose close to it so I could smell the flavors dissipate in my nasal passage. The traditional smell of Pad Thai was so far a good sign to eat the $18 dish. Where's the Beef? I was disappointed in the beef that I paid extra for. It sincerely looked like the cheap regular lunch version; NOT WORTH $18 dollars. The sauce incorporated into the noodles tasted like it was bottled or from a gallon size plastic container from Sysco foods. Flavors of a pungent vinegar base. Not really the taste I was looking for being this was a newer addition to restaurants. Service Generic order taker, not expecting the Pepsodent smile, but more of a grunt would have been nice acknowledging some gratefulness of a customer walking thru the door. Ambiance Same as when the angry Chinese man owned the Chinese restaurant two owner prior when the koi pond was there. Final thoughts So nothing special set apart for a neighborhood restaurant other than overpriced small portions.
