I ordered cashew chicken combo plate, husband got orange chicken combo plate, and we got kids beef broccoli combo and side of lo mein noodles and fried dumplings. Food was amazing for prices and amount per plate. I loved pork fried rice and cashew chicken was great but I could do without carrot chunks next time. I've been back few days later since my kids ate my leftovers and I wanted to enjoy it myself. Def going to go here from now on.

Had been looking for Chinese after moving from Chicago. I ordered online for pickup and ended up…read morewaiting about 7-10 minutes longer than the expected pickup time. When I walked in, there were some patrons eating a simple rice and noodle dish and there it was front and center, a microwave... and the older lady cook had just put something in there and punched it for a preset 1 minute timer. So that definitely made me ... know this was about to be sad. They do have woks going, but it looks like the main things that touch them is the noodles and rice only so there is SOME hot food Here is my order: 1 Fried Dumplings 1 Peppered Steak 1 Orange Chicken 1 Beef Lo Mein 1 Beef Fried Rice 1 Sweet and Sour soup This is my review of each: 1 Fried Dumplings - 2/5 Soggy, prefried, definitely from the microwave, not firm dumpling wrapper with bad five spice aftertaste. 1 Peppered Steak and Onion - 2/5 absolute ripoff, meager portions of steak, should be called Onion with Some Steak. just taste like the generic beef and broccoli juice flavor, filled to the brim of raw onion, and poorly cooked bell peppers. 1 Orange Chicken - 1/5 Prefried, Sweet, soggy, bad pieces of meat, absolutely sus looking 1 Beef Lo Mein - 4/5 not enough sauce on the noodles, but the noodles were cooked well and were very hot so I suspect that actually touched the Wok 1 Beef Fried Rice - 3/5 (only because of the raw onion) the rice was the oily fried goodness, idk why they put unevenly cut raw onions in this. It ruined it a bit. 1 Sweet and Sour soup 0/5 - absolutely atrocious. Nothing there at all. Money value I give it a 4/5. Would not personally eat inside as it is cramped and not separate from kitchen. Will not return though overall

New China Chef has all the usual stuff, from beef to tofu and whatever. Big portions help make things a good value for what you get. The prices aren't bad especially on lunch specials. Came in and placed an order to go. It's a pretty cramped place, but there's enough room for a few tables for those eating inside. The atmosphere is pretty lame. About the worst thing that can be said about it. There's two humongous menus on the walls. It's about $12 for the regular size entrees. They also have lunch specials. Has vegetarian choices. I got the Kung Pao Tofu. Good spice to it. The tofu was firm, and there was a good variety of vegetables including broccoli, corn, and more. For lunch it's pretty good. It's pretty fast to get most orders. There's a variety of proteins including tofu for vegetarians.

However, the food was very bad. We ordered pad thai with tofu, and the dish that was brought out was about 75% massive, tasteless chunks of tofu. What few noodles could be found underneath all the tofu were mixed with chopped onion, diminishing their ratio even further. There was a tiny pile of about 1/2 tsp of ground peanuts added in one corner of the plate. The sauce tasted sour and burnt. One of the worst pad thai variations I've had in a long time. Still.. I wouldn't fault them just for having bad food, but within an hour of leaving the restaurant, both the spouse and I were having an upset stomach, and ended up not being able to finish our drive home without having to pull over and find a public restroom. I would chalk it up to coincidence, but my spouse revealed that when she used the restroom, there were prominent signs indicating that no one is allowed to flush any sort of toilet paper down the toilet, and instead has to put them in open bins sitting in each stall next to the toilet. Each stall in the restroom had open trash cans filled with used toilet paper full of fecal matter, which is pretty horrifying to think of in a restaurant serving food in a first world country. My spouse brought home her leftovers and heated up them the next morning and within a half hour of eating them, was already having an upset stomach again which endured for the remainder of the day. We would definitely not eat here again, and it seems like the health department probably needs to pay this place a visit.
