    Steak tacos

The decorations and cleanliness is a 5. The server was friendly and helpful with recommendations. The food was too spicy for most people in the party. The steak tacos were bland until you hit the sauce and it's overwhelming. The fried rice (chicken) was mushy and absolutely lacked taste. I also tried the queso dip and the dipping wontons were good. I would never spend my own money to eat here and tried it because of the comps. Absent having the casino give you the food, save your money and try a restaurant that specializes in Asian food and doesn't have an identity crisis.

The Hubby and I wanted to grab a quick dinner before seeing a show at the Genesee Theater. I decided to check out the American Place Casino located nearby the Theater. We were not aware of protocols for visiting a Casino and were slightly surprised to see that there is a security check for bags and an ID is scanned into their computer by a security guard. No worries, it took just a few minutes. The Asia Azteca restaurant is located way in the back of the Casino. We had reservations but, they were not really needed. The restaurant had only a handful of diners. Overall, the restaurant is very large with tall ceilings. It is casual dining and combines Asian and Mexican cuisine. The decor was minimal, mostly Asian. We were not very hungry and decided to share a few appetizers, which arrived one after another, Tapas style: Empanadas w/chimichurri sauce, Beef Skewers and the steamed pork buns. Everything was basic food, not bad but not high quality. Which was totally fine. The one OOPS which happened, I ordered a dirty martini and a glass of water with a lemon slice. I got the water and the martini but, the Bar Tender added lemon to the dirty martini? It was a weird combination. We gave Asia Azteca a try overall, there are other Asian and Mexican local restaurants with better food quality, a little less in price, larger quantities and you don't have to go through a security line to get to the restaurant.

The only reason we dined here was because we had comps. It would've been even more disappointing if we had to pay out of pocket. The food presentation was good however none of the food was good at all. If you don't like spicy food, then definitely avoid this place. Most of the food was spicy. They got carried away with sauces on everything. The BBQ buns were not what we expected and the food colored pork was awful. The pork belly was dry. The beef empanadas didn't have much beef. The servers tried but they were slow and not very attentive. The ambiance was fine and the restaurant was clean.

Unfortunately, this is the worst food I have eaten in a casino, and they should consider removing them as a restaurant within the casino. I ordered the Lechon Pork Belly Fried and complained the rice was tough, which means it was not cooked. I asked the manager and told him about my issue of undercooked food. The manager (who I was later told was the supervisor, even though I asked for a manager) asked how they could make it right. I stated I wanted the same dish but appropriately cooked. The manager brought back the same dish, and it was again undercooked rice. The actual real manager came and apologized. I put the rice on his hand and told him to squeeze the rice; that it was hard and impossible to squeeze and one would need to swallow the hard rice. Hire real cooks or have an authentic restaurant in the casino. On a good note, the ambiance and decorations are beautiful. Just junk, uncooked food.

Asia-Azteca is a modern fusion restaurant, which I recommend to anyone who wishes to have a great time. The experience offered by the staff is unique and extraordinary. In addition, the servers are friendly, the bartender very knowledgeable about a variety of drinks and the managers are attentive and hospitable. I love this place, thanks for the great service and food.

Also plenty of parking out in the lot. Great restaurant and great location.

I thought today that I would visit my old friend and even though I have been around the world with the menu that dam general Taos chicken dinner combination is my favorite. The general Taos chicken combination comes with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken is always big moist chunks of tender velveted chicken which I can't tell if it's white or dark meat because of the velveting process but I like it. The egg roll isn't the tiny ones that became the norm over the years and it's super average like 95 % of Asian restaurants now, not like years past when the egg roll was a signature staple in Asian restaurants and they made really good ones. The combination chicken fried rice is that kind you find on most combination menus, not the main dish dark fried rice full of meat and veggies but just enough to accompany the main dish. Overall it's tasty enough and better than the average neighborhood Chinese restaurant and for a dinner combination that was 2 1/2 pounds of food for $13.50, price vs quality vs taste it's a winner.

Which led us to order again on another occasion to try their regular menu items. This time around, we were slightly disappointed. The flavors felt a bit flat, especially with the seafood dishes, which we were hoping would be more bold and well-seasoned. For reference, both orders were takeout. We didn't dine in at the restaurant. I'd still be open to trying them again in the future, especially given how much we enjoyed the dim sum the first time

The minute we walked in, a man sitting next to the hostess--who appeared to be part of the restaurant, not a customer--just stared at us. No greeting, no smile... just staring. The hostess also seemed a bit confused when we walked in. She asked if we had reservations; we said no. Then she asked if a high-top table was fine, as if the restaurant were packed. We agreed, assuming there would be a long wait for a regular table. But as she led us over, there were plenty of regular tables available. So right off the bat, the vibe wasn't particularly welcoming. As for the service, the waitress did a great job with the welcome and checked on us at a perfect pace. We also liked the decor--plenty of cute design elements that would make for great photos and draw people in. The menu was well done too: not overwhelming, just the right amount of variety in each category. Honestly, this part is why I gave the place more stars than I probably should have. As for the food, it was just okay for us--though that may have been due to what we ordered. There were only two of us, and we got three dishes: shrimp fried rice, beef chow fun, and kung pao chicken. We thought that would give us a good variety. The food had good flavor, but all three dishes tasted very similar. If you try these same dishes elsewhere, the flavors are usually more distinct. I do wish we had tried more of the appetizers and drinks--maybe that would have changed our rating a bit.
