Our go to Thai restaurant in the area. Perhaps I'm being picky with the various locations but when we come here I can always count on the flavors being spot on. My favorite items to get here are the Tom Yum soup, they let you choose the protein and the spice level and have an option for both bowl or a cup. The cup is about a pint size which is a great portion. I love getting the Tofu with this soup because I feel like it soaks in the flavor and breaks up the yummy spices. For the different levels of spice, just a heads up that there is a huge difference for a medium in a cup versus a medium in a bowl. Both are delish, but the cup medium is SPICY in the best way. I also really enjoy their basil fried rice with chicken. You can take the sauteed char from the basil and the medium in this is also spot on for us. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to try a higher heat, because Thai chilis are no joke! All in all, we frequent here often since moving up here and are so glad to have a staple in the area and in our regular rotation. read more

This was one of the best Thai food in northern suburbs. We were at gurnee mills mall and instead of having like crappy mall food, we decided for a sit down restaurant with decent food. This is not too far from the mall. Usually Asian restaurants don't really focus on the interior decor unless they are upscale. Everything was sooo delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. I also like that you can choose the spice level for each dish. My pad Thai with tofu was so salty that it was inedible, and it did not have pad Thai flavors (I've had this dish in the homes of people from Thailand as well as in Thai restaurants across the U.S.). Really great tasting food! You order your food and pay at the front when you walk in, and they bring the food to you at your table when ready (if you're dining). It's a nice casual setting inside the restaurant, however, it seems a bit self service where you clean up after yourself when you're done. The food served are in disposable takeout containers, plastic forks and napkins. Everything is set to go. The food, however, is delicious! We enjoyed everything we ordered. There's a parking lot outside for easy parking. I had the pad kee mao which was so good. Husband and kids each had their pad see ew, which they enjoyed. Combo fried rice was also good. It is an order and then sit down place, but it is still comfortable to eat there. They serve the food in plastic so you can add a lid and take it with you. The food was amazing!! They cooked my pork perfectly. Not to hard like many other places. I had spice level 2 and I could feel it in my mouth but it did not linger. My husband had spice level 3 and it was what he was expecting. His nose started to run toward the end of his dish. As for dessert, the taro custard was perfect. The sweet rice melted in your mouth and the custard was smooth and silky. The staff was wonderful and brought our food to the table. They have outside seating if you prefer. Serendipity. What a great Thai restaurant. It's a very nice place, decorated with high quality Thai art, it's really very lovely. Very close to I-94, so it's my new designated meeting spot for friends from the Chicago area to meet me half way from the Milwaukee area. I don't know it I said that right, it's about halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago in distance. Good selection of common Thai restaurant choices and some more unusual stuff. I haven't been there enough yet for them to serve the food up properly spicy but it's tasty nonetheless. They seem to do most of their business as take out, but the place is so elegant and yet affordable, I highly recommend you come in and sit down to eat. One of our favorite Thai restaurants. We often order from the Royal Thai in the city, but when we're in the burbs, this Gurnee location is a bit too far for delivery. We took a chance anyway, and everything still arrived hot, except for the Crab Rangoon and Thai Chicken Wings. The cream cheese filling wasn't creamy and smooth like it usually is, and the wings were a bit soggy/rubbery. The flavors were there, so I know it was because of the long distance. We'll need to quickly pop them in an air fryer! Asian Eggplant with Shrimp and Royal Thai Noodles with Tofu were both my first time ordering, and they were tasty. I had the kow soy (egg noodles in yellow curry broth) with medium spice level. It came with a tiny amount of noodles so I was still hungry afterwards. I had to add rice in order for it to be more filling. It was only noticeably spicy/mildly spicy to me. Hubby had the pad Thai (thin rice noodles stir-fried with egg, tofu, onion, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts) which was bland. My in-laws shared an order of chow mein (egg noodles stir-fried with egg, beansprout, bamboo, bokchoy, cabbage, carrots, onions) which was too salty so they didn't finish their dish. read more

Upon getting back to the hotel and opening the boxes, one was burnt and tasted awful, had to close the lip and toss it. 2 orders were so salty they were barely tolerable, and one was fine. Have you ever had such a disappointing dining experience that you couldn't wait to go home to write a review? Not because there was hair or a dead bug in the food. Not because you waited 2 hours for cold food. Not because the servers were rude. Simply because it was so disappointing that you felt you had to warn others. I want to be clear that this review is not about the two young ladies who took our order. They were cordial and polite enough. This is not about them. This is about the dining experience and the food. I gave this place two stars. One for being open, and another for the ample parking. There aren't a lot of Thai options in the area, so we really wanted this to be good. The first disappointment came when we weren't seated by a host/server. Instead, you're given menus, asked to take a seat, and when you're ready, you place your order at the counter. You then pay for your food and expected to tip at this point in time. So one has to ask oneself, "Will my food taste better and will I get better service if I tip well?" So I tipped and hoped for the best. We then had to gather our own water in a styrofoam cup, styrofoam plates, and plastic utensils. The food came out pretty fast, and was brought out in plastic take out containers on a metal tray and placed on the table. So at this point, we really wanted the food to taste good. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. The Pad Thai noodles was definitely not Pad Thai noodles. They served it with peanuts but it was definitely NOT Pad Thai. It tasted like it was burnt, but it wasn't. The seafood curry was so watered down that it really was just yellow-orange colored water. The shrimp was most likely frozen cooked shrimp in a bag, The vegetables were certainly not fresh and also probably frozen in a bag. Our son couldn't even take more than a couple of sips of his chicken (but can't find the chicken anywhere) ramen. So we were just done and ready to go. We grabbed some lids for the take out containers, none of which fit properly. We should have just thrown out the food, but it seemed like such a waste for a $60 meal. Anyway, if you're looking for a nice dining experience, this is not the place to go. If you're looking for a cafeteria experience with food that tastes like it was just reheated frozen food, then this is the place for you. But honestly, you're better off going to a place like Panda Express. You know what to expect, you can see the food being cooked, and it's half the price. What happened?? I was bragging so much about the Thai food here I gave it a second shot and boy I tell ya, it went from 100 to zero real quick! $68 worth of food, and everything was 1/5. So much oil and grease in every entree. The pad thai I had before was pretty good! But this time it's was beyond non authenticity. The noodles were brittle, pad Thai sauce taste like all the other 2 entrees I ordered (pineapple fried rice and pad sa ewe " was meh. I def won't be spending $60 on lunch again here again, maybe only dinner time it's good? Pad Thai: 1/5 bland to the taste, chicken dry, OILY Pad sa ewe 2/5 SOMEWHAT tasteful, soggy noodles and there were barely any vegetables Pineapple Fried Rice 1/5 I asked for spicy and got bland, added shrimp and got like 4 pieces, barely any pineapples perhaps 6 cubes. Don't order this Not pictured is the Thai tea, which came out great but how could one mess up on Thai tea to begin with? The spicy Thai chicken wings was definitely frozen then thawed wings and drenched in sauce.. nothing authentic about it. Definitely not worth the buck.
