Food is delicious, best around. You get large portions for the small sized entrees that you will be eating it for your next meal as well.

Triple Dragon. Chicken & beef so tender. This was the "small" portion!

It is always hard for my wife and I to find a good Chinese restaurant and this place is a hidden gem! Everything we get from there is good! We love the won ton soup and the egg rolls are so big. The owner stopped us on the way out and we chatted with him for 5 minutes about his restaurant and the food and how he was from park ridge and so were we. Very nice staff, very good food. We can't wait to go back for a lunch date again!

As always the plum garden didn't disappoint!! Our server was spot on and so friendly!! The food was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained.

HK chicken 2 portions chicken, some veggies on the side(?) and plain dragon noodles. $28!!!

First time ordering from this place and honestly, it was just okay. For $28, the portion and presentation were underwhelming. HKC side veggies were just disappointment - a few greens in some sauce. The "Dragon noodles" were basically plain garlic noodles, with no garnish or toppings at all -- nothing that made them feel special or worth the name. Flavor was fine but very simple. Not bad, just not impressive for the price. Might try something else next time, but this dish didn't really stand out. Overall kind of disappointment for the price

    Crab Rangoon

The chef style fried rice, bbq pork appetizer, and the almond cookies were very good. You won't be disappointed with those items. I also had the Crab Rangoon, which was waaaaaay too cream cheesey. I barely tasted the seasoning and other parts of it. I believe I could see crab inside (I'm not sure if real or imitation) but I definitely didn't taste it. It was a slight garlic on mostly cream taste. The plum garden egg roll was massive and didn't taste bad. It wasn't amazing, but was more like I was eating a burrito. The usual egg roll firmness or texture didn't exist. I'd probably get it again if I ever went again, but it would probably do amazing with sauce. I forgot to take pictures of it, but I got the General Tszo chicken, which is my favorite dish. It was down right horrible. The skin was 'melting off' of the chicken, so I was biting into the texture of slop. The flavor wasn't the norm of general tszo either, and tasted closer to orange chicken. They gave me sauce that wasn't standard with Chinese takeout, which was a bit weird. I had 3 containers of an orange marmalade like sauce, which didn't really seem to fit any of my items, even though I tried a bit with the egg roll and a bit with the crab rangoon, it just wasn't pairing well. They also gave me a small container of what I can only assume was some sort of horseradish sauce. It taste like American Wasabi (which is usually just horseradish, since real wasabi has to be made on the spot) and I wasn't sure what the point of it was. Definitely had the strong burning sensation when taste tested!

Excellent food. Egg Roll was huge and phenomenal! Best I have ever had. Next up was Double Dragon which is Hong Kong Chicken and Steak in Oyster Sauce served with Fried Rice and the Egg Roll. Then to take home was BBQ Pork Apoetizer which was a special this weekend and another Egg Roll. I will be back. I want to try the Won Ton Soup.

Best Chinese food I've ever had. Their house egg rolls are memorable. Generous crab ragoon filling. Just excellent.

How good is the food and what are quantities like? I ask because the prices here are up to twice as much as other Chinese restaurants in the area. $17 for a small Mongolian Beef? That is PF Changs price point. Local places are half this price.

The standouts were the hot & sour soup, the peanut butter chicken, and the shrimp. The ice cream was a little weird, but the almond cookies were great. The staff was quiet, but attentive. There was quite a bit of folks there so obviously it's a known and respected establishment in town. You walk into a clean establishment and you pay for the amount of people eating. I believe that we paid $28 for the 2 of us before tip which i felt was rather fair for a legitimate all you can eat chinese buffet. After you pay you go find whichever seating you would like/ can find. We chose a booth which was nice as we prefer them because both of our backs are bad so it was nice to sit comfortably. The food is mainly chinese throughout besides the dessert section which had a nice spread. They even had a little bit of pizza and mac and cheese available which is good if you have a younger one with you maybe not willing to take on chinese food just yet. The food was ok. It was not bad by any means, but it also did not check my box for being above average. It just tasted like middle of the road chinese food, which mind you in a buffet setting is totally fine with me especially considering you can just select items you enjoy more than others. They also have to prep and cook large amounts of different items quickly too so i was not necessarily expecting everything to be super tip top tasting. If i had to choose a word for the food it would be serviceable for sure and there was a ton of it! I am rating this spot a 4/5 stars this time around because you have to put everything into perspective. The food itself was not a true 4/5 but you do have to know what you're getting yourself into when you come through the doors. You pay a rather cheap price for a crap ton of food! We left stuffed and had a good time which in my book is what really counts , again considering the price! So all in all if you are in the area, i would totally recommend this to anyone maybe looking to save a few dollars and get a ton of food as well. The staff was nice and even brought our drinks to the table for us which was a nice thing that stood out to me. Definitely a spot that I would come back to for sure and might even bring my little brother along to thank him for the reasonable suggestion!!! Grand Buffet you are alright in my book!!!!

My general opinion on this place still stands, it's good from time to time but it's inconsistent…read more Today was a pretty good day here, everything was done correctly although it was all luke warm at best. Sometimes my fried dumplings are hardly fried at all but today they had great texture. Those are my must have item, I order them every time. The white rice is... white rice. Can't mess that up. The fried rice had plenty of vegetables, I find the color a bit unnatural but the flavor was good enough. The wonton soup was good but really should have been hotter, I live very close by and always pick up on time so the drive time isn't an issue. The egg roll was decent and the warmest item we got. The Tso's chicken had a great sauce and decent texture but given how hot the container was and how luke warm the meat was its obviously pre made (I'm guessing everything is here, unless your lucky). The place itself is a dingy hole in the wall spot. They do have a few tables but it's not an environment I'd want to hang out in so it's mostly a take out joint. The service hurts their score more than anything else. Their phone etiquette needs a lot of work, today they did a good job but normally they rush through the process and you feel like they don't even want your business. They might ask for your name or phone number or even give you an order number but the language barrier can complicate the pick up process so they often figure out which order is yours by asking what's in your order. A concrete system that the workers understand would go a long way to fixing this issue. Most orders take no more than 10 minutes to prepare so make sure your close by before you call or your luke warm food will end up cold by the time it hits your table. Overall this place is hit and miss but it's somehow the best bet for Chinese in this area.
