I would've given this a 5 stars on the food alone, but they don't take reservations so wait times can be a nightmare. We got takeout one time and it was 45 min wait and that was on a Tuesday. A Saturday takeout was 1.5 hours so you really have to prioritize time and get there right when they open on the weekends if you want a spot to sit.

The menu features lots of excellent Mexican cuisine choices including quesadillas, birria/ chorizo/ or steak tacos, Mexican breakfast options, and a small kids menu. During our first experience here, my husband ordered the steak taco plate which included 3 tacos, rice and beans. He also ordered the birria ramen. I, myself, ordered the birria taco plate which included 3 birria tacos, the consume, rice, and beans. We thought everything tasted very good! Beverages include: Different Mexican beverages such as Jarritos, Mex Coke, Horchata etc. Once could also canned soda, coffee, or juice. Their horchata was delicious-not overly sweet or watery at all. As far as alcoholic beverages, they have those, too! Paloma's, margaritas, and I was informed that they will soon have a mocktail menu. Service: Excellent. My husband and I dined-in on a very busy Sunday and there was no where to sit except a high counter-top area. We placed our order and were offered a table as soon as one became available. While eating, we were asked at least 3-4x if everything was okay or if we needed anything by various staff members. Prior to leaving, it started pouring rain outside. My husband paid our bill then went to pull our car closer to the door. While he was doing that, one of the employees by the name of Lupe grabbed an umbrella and walked me to the car when he pulled up (it's summertime and I was in summer attire including sandals). When I ordered carry out and sent my husband to pick up, I only wanted rice and beans. For some reason, he did not check the bag before leaving. He ended up coming home with some else's entire order which had no beans or rice. The restaurant was set to close in 15 mins, thus I did not bother to call about it. Value: $10-$20 on average for a meal and regular beverage. Great value for the portion sizes. Ambiance: Nice ambiance, yet very small restaurant with a bar area. Few tables outside for outdoor seating. Location: 2343 Mead St, Mt. Pleasant, WI, 53403 Phone: 262-456-0154 *Parking is all street parking and not the greatest when the place is busy. Check Google for business hours before going as it seems to change often. Cons in my opinion: * Because the restaurant is so small, I didn't like that large families were dining in and being *dining squatters* by taking up a few tables and conversing with one another for a long time, which took up a lot of space for a lot time. *dining squatter- someone that dines at a place, taking their sweet time eating, and lounging around after eating. * this business also owns a food truck, so it seems that their restaurant hours of operation change quite often depending on when they will take their food truck out.

They started with "World's Largest Kwik Trip", which was just great because it's literally just a regular Kwik Trip. Then they went to "Over 200 parking spaces" (might be misremembering the number, but it was high enough to warrant being the top billing on their billboard).. Now I guess neither of those were a big enough draw, because their current billboard proudly advertises "Kwik Trip: Free Parking". While the other competitors and establishments along this stretch of I-94 through rural Wisconsin may charge exorbitant prices for parking or insist you validate your parking ticket with your purchase, rest assured that the Kwik Trip has free parking. To this end, I've got some ideas for future billboards that I'm sharing with you free of charge (just like their parking): Gasoline at every pump! Individually-wrapped candy bars! Restrooms with running water! Frozen ice! Paper receipts! Free sunshine (daytime hours only)!* The restrooms have locking doors! Napkins! Live human cashiers! I went inside to grab some hot lunch while my car was fueling. Everything was fine until I came back out and realized the pump was out of receipt paper. She said yes, but told me I had to go stand at the back of the line again... which was at least eight people deep. That didn't sit right with me, especially since the issue was caused by the pump not being stocked with paper in the first place. It would have taken just a few seconds to reprint the receipt. Instead of waiting all over again, I left feeling pretty annoyed. I normally expect friendly, efficient service at KwikTrip, which is why this stood out so much. When it was my turn it worked well on the back tire but when I got up to check the front, it kept taking air out and left me with an almost flat tire. A nice man came and I asked him if he could help me, so he did. He tried and it wasn't working for him either. Kept getting an "error" on the machine. He told me to go to Ziffy Lube or Walmart. That maybe I had a leak. He was going to get air but changed his mind. This isn't the first time this happened to me at this station or the other ones in town. I was worried about driving it there. They were very nice to me at Ziffy Lube and checked all my tires for me. He even looked in the door to see how much air to put in. This young lady that works there said they get a lot of people getting air in their tires because Kwik Trips air doesn't work and messes it up. I can't believe that it's still doing this many months later. Last time I went there I was having the same issues and had someone come out to look at it. I won't be going there or the others anymore. As the cord isn't long enough or the air doesn't work properly. I thank the gentleman who helped me and Ziffy Lube.
