crab rangoon
Michaela J.

Discovered this little restaurant on yelp one night when we went to the casino. It is tucked away inside the actual casino so it can be a little easy to miss. But it was a great addition to our outing for a night of gambling and fun! The full menu and the hot and ready food was a great Addition to our night. The staff was friendly and service was very fast and as I said, the food came out piping hot! There are several different options, especially for non-meat eaters or more veggie eaters. I tried the lo mein, which was a good dish, but I wish it had a little more flavor maybe some additional spice or salt. But overall everything in the meal was good. We tried out a sushi roll along with the crab Rangoon, which you can never go wrong with. This is a must stop if you're having a day or night out in the casino!

I have had Asia a few times now and it never disappoints! I have had a great experience every time. I don't think I will ever stray away from the general tsos chicken, it's so delicious and the serving makes the price well worth it. I would highly recommend trying it! The staff is always wonderful, I feel like they really go the extra mile to make the experience great, they are always to polite and kind and even box your food for you. Asia is definitely a unique vibe as it's a more upscale restaurant that is actually inside the casino which is super unique and interesting. It's one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I would highly recommend to anybody, I will definitely be back

If you want a fusion of Asian stop here if you are at the casino! They offer Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese. Very good and the customer service is great!

The best Asian food in St.Louis! I have tried many dishes but so far my favorites are the Hot Chili Catfish and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. The servings are huge so be hungry when you go! I can't say enough good things about this place! The people are very friendly and personable. Sit at the counter and watch them cook if you can..

Cascading Soju

Great dinner on a Friday night! We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but after that it was smooth sailing. Our server was a delight, she was attentive and ready with suggestions when we asked. I tried a Cascading Soju, which was refreshing. The candied ginger on top was so pretty. We started with the classic Crab Rangoon, which I recommend. For my entrée, I had the deluxe fried rice and it was really tasty, but I would have liked some veggies in it and less onion (but that's my personal preference). My friend had the honey walnut shrimp and that dish is a winner. The manger came by and was very nice, he also offered us his recommendations. They deliver towels to you table to clean your hands and have regular utensils and chopsticks on the table. And since everything was so good, I snagged a to go order of potstickers for lunch the next day...they were fantastic! I look forward to going back, as I've got the Pad Thai on my mind. (Oh! And the check is delivered in a delicious way!)

Asia is a really cute, (you guessed it) Asian themed restaurant tucked in the far back of the casino floor at Ameristar Casino. I was given fresh warm towels upon first being greeted by my waitress, which was a nice touch. I ordered the crab rangoon, the Asia Delux fried rice, and a cocktail (sorry I forgot the name of it but it's a rum punch). First of all, the drink looked really exquisite with the large, haute couture looking fruit slice hanging on the rim of the glass (sorry i don't know what fruit it was but it had a bright pink edge with a white center with black dots, very chic). It was extremely sweet, kind of too sweet. The restaurant only has three signature cocktails on the menu. On one hand, that probably helps them streamline their menu, but on the other hand, they need more options. The crab rangoon was extremely fresh! Have you ever had freshly made crab rangoon? This was still warm and soft from just coming out of the grease - fresh. It was good. the Delux fried rice, wasn't bad. It definitely isn't your typical shopping plaza Chinese food variety, but is what you'd expect a nicer restaurant's option to be. Beef, chicken, shrimp, and veggies come in it. I definitely had to add soy sauce to it to give it more flavor. The funnest part of the meal was when I got the check. it's served in a giant, homemade fortune cookie that you can eat. It was really cute and creative. Asia is a nice addition to the arsenal of restaurants at Ameristar. The staff was all friendly and knowledgable about the menu as well. If you're in the area (or at the casino), and are in the mood for Chinese food with a little more fresh quality than normal, check out Asia.

Ask the Community - Asia

I understand Asia is located on the casino floor. If this is correct, do you have to walk through the gaming area (where smoking is allowed) to get to it or is there another entrance?

Good afternoon. Asia is located on the casino floor to the right after you walk through the turnstiles. There is not another entrance. We hope to see you soon.

Love the new cocktail bar they added. It take away some seating however people can eat at bar too. We ordered cocktails while waiting for our table which took only a few minutes. My husband tried their version of an old-fashioned which used both bourbon and rum!!! It was good but he said definitely a "sipper". They have a full bar and much better wine selection now too. Starters for us were a bowl of wonton soup and the spring rolls. Both were good but rolls a little rubbery to me. The highlight of our meals was charbroiled pork. We are not capable of ordering anything else. Ha. I get 15.04 and he got 15.03 which includes an egg roll. Divine food!! The people who own this place are so friendly. Our waiter was also very nice. Try the Pho Dac Biet along with a mix of hoisin sauce, chili garlic and the chili crisp - this combo was a good replacement for my usual hoisin sauce/sa té combo at pho restaurants. The pork eggrolls had an unusual surprise - fresh sliced mushrooms (in case you were wondering why the crust was darker in hue). We chatted briefly with Jeff, the owner, and learned a ton about the restaurant's history and re-launch. It's a good sized venue, with great lighting and seating plus excellent service. I would dine here again!

I dropped in on a Saturday evening and ordered the **Shroomed Up** ramen, and it was a ramen masterclass in a bowl. The broth managed to be incredibly rich and deeply savory-sweet all at once, without ever feeling heavy. It was loaded with thick, substantial slabs of mushrooms, tender-cooked bok choy, and the noodles were the star of the show--thick and perfectly cooked to that ideal sweet spot where they aren't too chewy but have zero mushiness. Even with a line stretching out the door when we arrived, the wait wasn't tedious, and we reached the counter reasonably fast. The ordering process is standard counter service, but the staff member who took our order was incredibly nice, polite, and helpful, practically predicting my questions as I was looking over the menu. The same employee even brought our bowls out to us. The space was definitely crowded for a weekend night, but the seat-yourself setup worked out perfectly for the two of us; we still had three tables to choose from. The interior has a great energy with fun, East-Asian and Japanese-themed decor lining the walls. The Breakdown Food Quality: 5+/5 + Service: 4/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Vibe: 4/5 Quality/Value: 4/5 **Pro Tip:** Don't let a Saturday evening line out the door scare you off! The counter service team moves people through the queue efficiently, and if you are dining in a small group of two, the table turnover is quick enough that you'll still easily find a spot to sit down.

This is the BEST restaurant that I've been to in STL so far!!…read more First, the service was absolutely wonderful. Our server was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to our table. The food was purely amazing: - The Sake Sashimi was absolute chef's kiss (rate: 10/10). The fresh sashimi in the ginger mint sauce left us speechless, the salsa gave a fresh and fruity burst of flavor, and even the fried chips on top had a ton of flavor! - The Isaan Hamachi (rate: 9.5/10) was also a must! I first tried the candied garlic on top, and it was truly sweet with only a hint of garlic. The yellowtail was also super fresh, and the coconut sauce brought out even more flavor from the yellowtail (and masked any fishy taste)! - The Massachusetts Scallops (rate: 9.5/10) was one of the best scallops I've ever had. Topped with crab and combined with the pea puree, everything complemented each other so well. There were only two scallops, but they were large and super filling. - The Shrimp Toasts had layers and layers of flavor (rate: 9/10)! The shrimp was inside of the toast, creating a super umami flavor, and then the light and fruity topping and sauce, along with the thin slice of cucumber, truly made this a party in my mouth. - The Chili Garlic Noodles were super nutty and so good (rate: 8/10)! The noodles were slightly spicier than expected, but the spice was a quick burst of flavor, so the spice didn't overpower the dish at all. The noodles were mixed with vegetables and topped with a crunch - definitely make sure to mix before eating to get the different textures and flavors in each bite! We also got cocktails (Pretty in Pink & Sands in the Sun), and both were really yummy. Last, we got a dessert - homemade ice cream by the Sous Chef that day: soy ice cream with red bean! Flavors were all subtle but together they created such a unique and beautiful end to the meal. Came here for my birthday, and I will certainly be returning!

However, I will tell you that Eddie turned it around. He was incredible. Sure, normally wait staff will tell you "oh yes great choice" so I asked if he would actually tell us if things were bad. Now, he didnt say anything was bad, but he did say he felt this other dish was better than what a person ordered because it had more flavor and yada yada. A honest man. Love to see that. Japanese Curry = Little spicy, but great flavor. Yum. Wagyu and bacon bao = amazing. Get it. Pork belly boa = a little dry, bummer. Fried shrimp boa = good. Fries = 100/10. Perfectly crispy. Amazing. I was enthralled as they made the cocktails. They answered random questions and helped us picked something for our palate. I had the Paloma (Palo-Ho-HO-Ma) it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! i mean like go just to get one of those. Then i had the sweet chili popcorn tofu. That was also good. Next I had Tom Kha.
