They put flooring in for us a while ago and the flooring pieces are coming apart and the baseboards are showing gaps for pests to enter. Gaps are showing bc they never caulked the areas. Terrible company. Would not recommend!! read more

We had our kitchen remodeled last year. It was great working with everyone at Ashley. Our designer Marilyn was great and all the guys who came out to work. They walked us through the design process, made helpful suggestions and when it came time to do the work they were professional, tidy, communicated well and finished on time. One tip- since they are a "design build" working with a strict budget could be tricky as they give you a base price but then your finishes add costs and there are small items not included in the I initial estimate. It worked for us, but just a heads up. We plan to use them again in the future when we do our bathrooms! read more

OK. I just really feel upset when there is some one who promised me anything but finally it comes out with nothing. Went to the store Tuesday and I asked if they can help me finish the carpet flooring by next weekends because I need to move into it by then. Some one in this store promised me and I double check with her several times. She said they could make it happen unless accident like the truck which helps deliver carpets roll over or so happens. So I trusted them and didn't ping other carpet shop to help on it. Well, then accident happened the day after. No truck rolled over of course, just the technician who should have been there to do the measurement didn't show up. I made a phone call today and they said it is no longer possible for them to help me set up the carpet. Well. That is my lesson to know that never take any one's word as promise even if they "promise". And I have to find out a solution to live in my house with an even shorter time frame. read more

I was confused what they sell before visiting the Ashley Interior. I am glad that I visited this remodel company. They have their own general contractors and designers for kitchen and bathroom remodels. This showroom has all the materials for their customers. They usually don't sell material to other customers. This company is also Diamond Certified. My neighbor told me that it's not easy to get it. It is good to know a nice remodel company. read more

When my husband and I finally decided it was time to get serious about our kitchen remodel, it was important to me to use someone local. I had seen their ads on TV and their yelp reviews were solid as well. One meeting with the owner, JR, and we knew we were in the right hands. Our designer, Deborah, was fantastic and I cannot say enough about the Ashley team. They were on time, every time, passed every inspection on the first go....and let me tell you, when we added our second story a number of years ago that was not the experience we had! They cleaned up each night. They were professional and I enjoyed having them here each day. Our new kitchen is absolutely amazing! We went down to the studs and created this beautiful new part of our home. (This is my THIRD written yelp review on this company. I believe the company filed a complaint to yelp after I got "personal" after reading AI's response below based on my "first" review. It's very unfortunate that I'm the first one to leave a "ONE STAR" review MAINLY because of the incompetency of Michelle C as a sales representative of AI.) I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ASHLEY INTERIORS for your next Home Remodeling and/or Home Improvements. Here's what happened: (1) On a Friday afternoon last October 2013, I ordered two bathroom vanities using their "Vanity Program" on their Ceasarstone products. I provided my measurements to Michelle C (their CSR) and paid in-full in agreement that "Sales are Final". Michelle C took down the measurements & promised that my orders will be delivered on time in 7 business days. (2) Four business days later (Thursday afternoon) Michelle called, shared her concerns about the measurements. I confirmed that my measurements are correct and asked to proceed with my order. On Monday the next week, I followed up with Michelle and she confirmed that my order is currently being worked on. This was the beginning of my horrific experience with AI and lasted for almost a month. I finally went in the store, requested to cancel my order and demanded my money back because I still dont have my vanities and I'm tired of their broken promises. Michelle refused to refund my money due to AI's "All sales are final" policy. I understand the policy but again they haven't started working on my vanities, STILL NO vanities, and there's no solution to the above issue. So the ONLY solution is to just cancel the order and refund my money back which eventually agreed on after several tries and before having an almost unpleasant argument with Michelle. Overall if the company (and Michelle C) really cares about the customer's best interest they should have: (1) after 7 business days of measurements concerns - Cancel the order, refund my money and just explain to me that they're STILL uncomfortable with the measurements that I provided to them because they (and I'm quoting from their response below) "WANT TO PROTECT HER BEST INTEREST INSTEAD OF JUST TAKING HER MONEY" and don't want to put my home renovation project on hold (which by the way it did). OR (2) Proceed with the order, and provide the bathroom vanities with the measurements that I provided to them. If I am unhappy with the end products then it would be my fault, my money wasted and won't even blame them for the end results. Again I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this company not only because of the above reasons and how highly incompetent as a sales representative Michelle was but also the extremely rude comments that she said to me after the refund. No apologies from her or from any one of them in AI and even blamed me for my measurements and the whole conflict. (Seriously how hard is it to use a tape measurement?) Please save your headache, emotional drama and money from this company. Please DONT WORK with Michelle C! And for the record, I got my bathroom vanities with the SAME measurements from another company. Hassle-free! read more

We were seeking some replacement shutters in the same style as our existing ones, and Marilyn King at Ashley Interiors was terrifically helpful. After calling a few places, it turned out that our shutters were about to be discontinued, and Ashley Interiors was the only place willing to get them ordered (which including coming out and measuring the windows and verifying all the specs on our existing shutters) before the deadline. My family has been contracting with this company forever ( my mother keeps coming up with new ideas and keeps changing and improving the interiors of our home). They do great work! We've completely remodeled the kitchen, all 3 bathrooms, installed a automatic garage door, fixed our back garage door, and some odd and ends that go wrong in the house. I can't say enough about Ashley Interiors.! We did a complete remodel to the front of our home. We had walls removed to make a more open living space. They made it so easy and stress free. Employees were friendly and on time. I was worried about living in dust and dirt but I'm pleased to say that it shouldn't have been a concern. What a wonderful experience we have had with Ashley Interiors! We needed new window coverings and a refresh for our kitchen countertops and we wanted to work with a local company, if possible. Deborah Cleveland is awesome, she's warm, engaging, patient (my work schedule and availability was a challenge at times) and professional! The installation of the window treatments was on schedule and the installer was professional and provided an explanation after install of proper usage, etc. The kitchen countertops, new sink and new dishwasher were installed as promised, again, on time and with no issues. The kitchen installer was like the window treatments installer: professional, prompt and got the job done on time! Deborah kept us informed every step of the way on both projects! I contacted Ashley Interiors for a quote for two custom cabinets as we had our laminate floors done by them and were very satisfied so I wanted to do business with again. I was advised I would receive a call or email response in a few days. Sadly, I NEVER received a call or email and I was very disappointed! It appears that although because were would not be spending the amount of money that we did for our floors, our request for the custom cabinets was too small for them and did not warrant their business. We used Ashley Interiors (On-Time Builders) for our master bathroom remodel and I very happy with the result. We tore our bathroom down to the studs and had it reconfigured to what we wanted. Some of the things we had them do was convert a shower/tub to an enclosed shower area (including glass doors), add a second sink, create new storage space by adding cabinets to what was previously wasted space, replace the old cabinetry, widen the doorway, add a heated floor and a lot of tile work. Everyone we worked with was very friendly and we had start to finish service (truly one stop shopping). I had the basic design already drawn out and they helped us to refine the design (making sure everything was up to code), pick out materials and then perform the work. The only reason I gave them four stars, instead of five, was that there were a few little issues. There was a bit of a lack of continuity in the crews, which in itself isn't too bad, but there were times where the incoming workers really weren't sure of what needed to be done and that did lead to a little wasted time. Also, communication wasn't always the best. There were times when I expected someone to show up and they never did, or when I wasn't expecting someone and we had people show up. Overall, we love our new bathroom and it gets rave reviews from our friends and family. The service was always very friendly and they did a great job of cleaning up everyday. My wife and I chose Ashley Interiors to replace our old, broken blinds with new, Hunter Douglas shutters and we could not be happier. Marilyn worked with my wife after measurements were taken at our home. The tech was right on time and very professional. They gave us 3 different options from inexpensive blinds to the luxury shutters, and of course, we chose the nice ones. SO glad we did. They are amazing. We can "black out" a room for cooling or movie night or open them up to the sunshine for a nice breakfast. The installation was the most professional I have experienced. Punctual, polite, clean and friendly. They even helped me with a side project I had for free! Helpful staff when picking out product, good product, installtion went fine. I ordered the product and no one called in over a month. I called to find it was sitting in the warehouse unopened. We made an appointment to install. Again, I had to call to make sure it was confirmed. Naturally, they were on it as far as requesting my final payment. Unfortunately Ashley Interiors I have to give you a bad review which I don't do often but I just want to let people know before they go. Today I went to schedule an appointment for someone to come out to measure so they could pull up my carpet in my living room and lay down laminate in my condo. Apparently they don't do condo's because my property is too small AND they are only doing complete remodels on large houses. Interesting that my money was good enough several years ago to do my floors but because my current job isn't big enough (meaning you wont be getting a whole lotta $$$ for this job) they said "no." That's ok Ashley's...I won't be hiring you to do my total remodel on my condo...the flooring in my living room is just my first step. I will also let my family know to no longer go to Ashley's for the remodels of their homes and multiple rental homes through out the bay area and look elsewhere. Word of mouth can be the best referral or not. I'm sure when the recession hits...you will be begging for small business like mine. You should realize that small things matter because they lead to bigger things...meaning more $$$$ for your company! I went back to your company because I enjoyed working with your company but apparently I'm no longer good enough for you. It's ok... If I could give Ashley Interiors NO stars, I would!! My husband and I went to Ashley's to see about having our master bathroom remodeled. We spoke with Deborah Cleveland for about an hour discussing what we wanted to have done. She informed us that they were booking out about 3 months. So, we scheduled an appointment to have JR, the owner, come out, look at our bathroom and take the necessary measurements. The appointment was made for 2 weeks later, as this was the soonest JR could make it. A week before the appointment, Deborah called and said that the appointment had to be postponed another 2 weeks. When the date finally arrived, Deborah showed up instead of JR. Apparently he was too busy, on his vacation. Deborah took pictures of our bathroom and the necessary measurements. She said that JR would put together an estimate and get back to us with it. 2 weeks later, I called Deborah because we had not heard anything. She informed me that Ashley's was now booking 6 MONTHS out for remodeling projects, but that she would pass our name and number on to another contractor, Tom Naylor, whom they had used in the past. A week later, I contacted Deborah since we had not heard from Tom Naylor. Deborah said she would email him again. Now, almost 2 weeks later, and still no phone call. I went online to find Tom Naylor, and he is the owner of Precision Craft Construction in Fremont. I tried calling him and got his voicemail. Then I emailed him, and so far, no response. As far as Ashley goes, I am extremely disappointed in their company. Our bathroom needs to be gutted out and basically re-built, but since we were not looking at having a $100,000 bathroom done, Ashley seems to have lost interest. If you don't mind spending $75,000+ to remodel your bathroom, Ashley might be willing to take on your project, but after a month or two of trying to get it all started, BEWARE, Ashley might just decide to lose interest in your project too. As for Tom Naylor, I can't even get him to call me back, so it's time to look elsewhere. read more

Just walked into Ashley Interiors 30 mins ago because: 1) it's close to our house 2) they carried a lot of the products we were wanting for our home project. As soon as I entered, probably barely even 1 minute of stepping in, I was greeted by a very unhappy individual who questioned my existence in the store. I was questioned as to why I was there. I mentioned about the quartz countertop and she asked how much I need. She was stammering for some reason and I said I have the measurements. She hurriedly went to her computer and said oh, it will be 5000 dollars for 2 slabs of quartz countertops. I said oh that's a little too expensive, and she turns around and says No, it's Not with Attitude !! Well, every customer has budgets and instead of giving options, I get a NO ITS NOT EXPENSIVE answer. Take it or leave it attitude.Well, if this is how customer service is delivered at Ashley Interirors, I would like to hear from the owner of this store. I have not been made to feel so uncomfortable at a store for being a customer. She looked unhappy and full of attitude. Everyone else there seemed happy to help. Pls stay AWAY from this store. I decided to replace my master bathroom floor. I went to Ashley Interiors and another company for quotes. While Ashley's price was significantly higher, I felt more confident with them because they have a contractor's license and JR, the owner, really talked over the project with me and had some good suggestions. The other company took measurements and gave a quote; they also would not have painted any new baseboard that they installed. The office staff, JR the owner, and the installers were all friendly and professional. There was a small problem with a pvc pipe that was w-a-a-a-a-y too close to the sub-floor (not because of Ashley), and they just took that in stride and replaced it and made absolutely sure that it didn't leak before completing the project. My wife and I embarked on a major home renovation including 3 bedrooms, a living room, the main bath and a half bath along with some minor renovation. We made an appointment to come into the Newark store on a Saturday to talk over our ideas. Marilyn handled all of our questions and gave us several ideas to consider. JR came as promised and listened to our plans, measured all of the potential work and a few days later we had a comprehensive quote that covered all of our details. We trusted Ashley with the work, and they delivered much more than we expected. All of the crew was courteous and thoughtful, very professional to deal with. On more than one occasion, they went above and beyond and helped us deal with other issues (a broken water heater for example, that had nothing to do with what they were working on at the time) with a handshake agreement. The work performed exceeded our expectations, and the entire project was so easy from our standpoint. We have had other contractors in the past, and this has rarely been true in the past with those others. We were looking for a contractor who can do quality work for a reasonable price in the Fremont area. After interviewing 3 buseinsses in this area, we settled on Ashley Interiors. They remodeled 2 bathrooms in our house (master and hall) by designing them based on our input, and worked with us to optimize their functionality and appearances. They completely gutted both baths, and did an excellent job that matches exactly what we wanted in the timeframe they promised. They were professional, thorough, and stay in constant communication with us. We were really pleased with the craftmanship and will be hiring them to remodel other parts of our house. JR also provided design expertise to get the most from our space and cabinetry in addition to advising us about the gas and electrical upgrades we had to make. Our next step was to meet with Marilyn King, the kitchen designer, who helped us select the perfect cabinets, flooring, countertops, fixtures, and paint colors. Marilyn's expert advice helped us achieve the look we were going for while staying within our budget. She was a delight to work with and I trusted her judgement implicitly. We were able to take home numerous samples to view within our kitchen to ensure that everything looked great in our house and with the lighting. The workmen, all Ashley employees, were top notch, punctual, highly skilled, and kept the job site clean. They were very pleasant to work with and they obviously took pride in their craft. It was important to have reliable craftsmen coming into our home. Any small glitch that arose was promptly and completely taken care of.
