We love the service and quality that we received at Tri City Marble ! Bonnie and Anthony were professional and nice to work with . The installer was great and the final outcome is beautiful . We will be back as soon as we begin our main bathroom remodel . I highly recommend them .

BACKGROUND I do a…read morelot of construction. DIY construction, that is. Six months ago, while in the middle of a project, I noticed that Home Depot was selling a lot of wood with black mold. Wood gets mold when left in the rain too long. I had one Pro Desk person sell me a large order of 2x8, and he told me I could use "bleach or Copper Green" to treat the mold. That motivated me to find another source of building materials. For decades, I'd used Home Depot or Lowes. This review reflects several months of interaction with Golden State Lumber. This review is a pleasure to write and I do have a code of conduct when using Yelp. QUALITY There is a pronounced difference in quality. Golden State's lumber is superior to big-box store lumber. It's not even close. I used to spend a lot of time picking pieces at big box stores because so much of it was bowed, checked, cupped, and even moldy. Framing is so much easier with their markedly better quality wood. KNOWLEDGE/CUSTOMER SERVICE No comparison. Personnel at Golden State include folks who worked in construction. Golden State is an old school lumber yard with people who know what they're talking about. I've gone there and asked questions about material selection, what fasteners to use, and even questions about construction technique and they've not only been helpful, they have a friendly and helpful mindset. When calling Golden State to ask questions, the phone is answered promptly. They answer questions, pricing, technical, and otherwise promptly. I even had one of their experts give me his cell phone number to get back to him. This level of customer focus is beyond the big-box store experience. FACILITY/OPERATIONS It's a big facility. There are people driving around in fork lifts that helped me to select and load wood. No more pulling lumber-laden carts through parking lots -- they load your truck and they're friendly people. Parking is plentiful. To buy lumber, I go to the Sales counter, sometimes with phone pictures describing my project, and we discuss what is needed. I've been walked out to the yard to see the lumber under consideration, or, I know what I want and place the order. I go to my truck, and my lumber is brought to me and loaded. They also deliver. I own a lot of tools and materials, therefore have not made significant purchases of those, but I have walked through the place and it is well stocked with good quality tools and materials. PRICE Lower than Home Depot and Lowes for lumber -- that was the shocker for me. I've bought subfloor and framing members and the prices for far better quality lumber have been lower. CONCERNS The single drawback for Golden State is that I have to drive to Newark to get there. What they need to do is to open a facility in San Jose. Other than location, I don't have a bad thing to say about them. It's been a great experience.

I've used Golden State lumber for a few windows and doors. Out of all the lumber yards I called…read morethey have consistently been the least expensive, approx. 30% savings from other stores. Answered the phones quickly, knew what I needed and how much based on my cubic yard estimate (they converted to tons for me), and BAM, BOOM, DONE - order was placed on Wednesday, Thursday was a holiday, and it was delivered late Friday morning as promised. The driver was friendly, professional, and worked the truck through the tight street like nothing and dumped the DG in the sweet spot of my driveway. I would/will definitely use Tri City Rock - Just 'Tri' them! They 'Rock'! :) thanks TCR!

Norma in the office is extremely unprofessional, and Eddie who acts like a supervisor but probably isn't was even more rude and condescending. From the very first interaction when I walked in, they made me feel like I don't understand anything. When I asked a simple question, it was met with a rude smirk and "it is what it says it is". I was there to place a large order but there was absolutely no way that I would have done it after this experience. They speak to customers as if they're doing you a favor, even though you're the one giving them business. When I questioned their rudeness, they just shrugged and made fun of me Completely unacceptable and something I have not seen anywhere else. Do not do business with this company. There are several other better options with reasonable pricing annd good customer service elsewhere.

We already had experience with a 28 year old cultured marble shower which is still going strong; no leaks! We decided to use a cultured marbled shower pan instead of grout and tile for the replacement shower since our experience with cultured marble is so fabulous. The shower pan is a bit different from the usual shower pans they make. I needed a shower pan to accommodate a half wall, leaving only one section of the threshold for the shower door. I prefer the wall so that the niches for shampoos and soap will be out of sight. They also matched both the color and pattern of the culture marble to the quartz stone slab I planned to use. I was able to see samples of the colors in store. They also have a wide selection of patterns displayed in store. Reynaldo did such a great job with the complimentary sample color and pattern that when my husband saw the sample against the quartz stone slab we planned to use for the shower walls, he asked, which one is the cultured marble? Reynaldo was very helpful in helping me spec out the dimensions of the custom shower pan. For those of you needing to spec out your custom shower pan, the flange is 1/2 in, the curb around the perimeter of the shower pan is 1 inch (it accommodates using a stone or tile slab around the shower), and the shower pan is 4 inches deep. Their drain is awesome quality and solid brass. The city inspector was very impressed with not only the brass drain, but with how well the custom pan is graded and leveled during Rey Jr's install. We are also planning to use epoxy to face the threshold under the shower door with the quartz stone. They are very professional, easy to work with, and very timely. They came when they said and completed the work promptly. They are a family business. Reynaldo's wife helped me with color selection and pattern matching during my first visit. When we went back to finalize the pattern and color, Reynaldo helped me spec out the dimensions and provided guidance to be shared with my contractor on drain requirements. Reynaldo Jr came out to do the template, and worked with my contractor. They are all very sweet people! Rey Jr also took the initiative to increased the curb width to make the curb look even better with the stone slab. Very much appreciated! I had thought that wasn't possible, but he did it to make it look even better! Highly recommend.

Beautiful Bathroom Remodel - Great Experience from Start to Finish…read more This was our first home remodeling project, so we really didn't know what to expect. From the design phase all the way to the final inspection, the entire process was smooth and easy. Tony and his crew did an excellent job and paid close attention to every detail during construction. I was also worried about the mess and dust that usually comes with remodeling, but they were very careful and cleaned everything at the end of each day, which we really appreciated. Thank you Joseph and Avi for coordinating everything so well. We absolutely love our new bathroom!

Construction & More recently completed a full home renovation for my home in Fremont. From…read morebeginning to end, our points of contact, Avi & Joseph have gone above and beyond for our project, walking us through the planning phases, permitting, design, construction and finishing work of the renovation. They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. Their expertise, professionalism, thoroughness and transparency really sets them apart from the competition. I'm extremely grateful and happy with the outcome of our renovation! Good work guys!!
