Kanika is an extremely talented designer, and I can't recommend her enough! We bought a house in March 2020 - signed the contract days before covid stay at home orders. My husband and I then spent two years working from home together in our front room (we call it the study now) without any rhyme or reason, just putting our desks wherever they fit, because it all happened so quickly. It was awkward and ugly, cords and monitors everywhere, and not a great look for people walking in our front door. The whole time, I was thinking, "when this is done and at least one of us goes back to the office, I want to make this room into a nice space to read and relax, and also to WFH when I have to." That's where Kanika comes in. I tried changing the place up on my own, but every choice I made seemed to make my space uglier and more awkward. It was time to hire a professional. That decision was worth every penny. In the end, my project turned out to be slightly bigger than just one room. I enlisted Kanika's help in choosing flooring, baseboards and paint for the whole house, furniture for my entire downstairs (we were still using the old living room furniture left by the previous owners), and light fixtures throughout. She was easy to work with and understood immediately what I was going for. My study is a real showstopper now - the walls are this deep blue color that looks amazing, she designed a gorgeous custom bookshelf that makes perfect use of the space, and she picked a couch that is the perfect size, just the right color, and so comfortable. And we still managed to get a desk in there for those WFH days. Literally just the other day, I was on a Zoom with someone and thought "this room behind me is so pretty, it looks like a fake background." But it's real, and in my house! And it wouldn't have happened without Kanika. The paint color she helped me pick for my bedroom is something I never would have chosen on my own, but I still regularly think about how nice it looks whenever I go in there. Same with the color of the living room couch, I'd never have found it on my own, but now that I have it, I love it. She knows her stuff. Kanika's husband Adi runs the business side of things. He managed the project, hiring contractors and keeping everything on schedule. The work was done on time, and he kept us in the loop, patiently answering any concerns or questions. And, no shenanigans with the final cost. Really, hiring Kanika Design was a great decision for us. read more

I had the opportunity to work with Kanika Design as their contractor. I have a wonderful experience with them. I love the way they work. They are super clean and dedicated so much time at the job side. I recommended them 100%. You cannot go wrong with them. read more

I'll be honest-we were pretty overwhelmed at the thought of doing a full makeover for our home. We knew we wanted a total makeover for our place, but trying to find a team that actually handles the 'boots on the ground' construction side and the high-end design is way harder than it looks. After talking to a few different firms, Kanika Design just felt like the right fit. Kanika really listened to what we wanted. I've always been a bit nervous about using bold colors, but she pushed us (in a good way!) for a deeper color palette in the main living areas. It looks incredible. Kanika found us so many unique, high-quality furniture pieces that you just won't find at a big-box store. The biggest thing for us was logistics. Once the design process completed, their team handled everything - architectural, permit headache, and construction. Anyone who has done a remodel knows things never go 100% perfectly, but whenever an issue popped up, they were on top of it immediately. They kept the contractors moving and kept us updated on the budget and what was happening next. It's a relief to finally be done after 2 years and have a home that feels like us but way better. I can't recommend Kanika and her team enough. We're still obsessed with how everything turned out. read more

I highly recommend Kanika Design! They did a wonderful job creating the design of my beautiful bathroom. Kanika is talented with design and color, she listened to my preferences, worked with my budget and devised a perfect result. Adi and Kanika provided a detailed design my contractor could execute without issue. They were responsive and efficient when sourcing materials and throughout the process. My stunning, classically tiled bath receives so many complements! I am so happy I was able to work with them and look forward to doing so again. read more

Kanika is amazing! We moved into a new to us home that had some things we wanted changed, she helped us through the design phase and found wonderful contractors to implement the changes. We have worked with other designers and contractors and Kanika was one of the best. When we ran into problems and unexpected issues she helped us through them quickly and with consideration to what we wanted. There are always unexpected issues during a construction project but not everyone has the skill to handle the unexpected and make the customer feel at ease, Kanika does. Kanika helped us pick out a few pieces of furniture, lighting fixtures, redesigned our home office and laundry room. We are beyond thrilled with the results and have recommend Kanika to our friends. read more

I worked with Kanika Design a boutique interior design company for several years. While working there I was able to work on all aspects of the design process, had a lot of hands on experience. Kanika, the owner and principal interior designer, is very knowledgable person who is willing to answer all of your questions and teach you everything she knows. I had amazing time working at Kanika Design during my stay and would highly recommend their interior designs services. read more

Kanika & her team are amazing! In a previous color consultation, she helped me renew my bedroom interior to the color of my choosing. I reached out to her again because I was looking for a shade of blue this time & just by looking at my room, she instantly knew the different shades of blue that would work best for my walls. I love the new color in my room. It brings a positive change & I couldn't be happier! I would highly recommend her & her team to anyone who's looking for interior design and color consultation services. read more

We did an extensive remodel starting with a new kitchen and custom dining room cabinets, going all the way to foundation work and outside walls renovation. Kanika and Adi were a joy to work with and delivered on budget and on time. Kanika's taste, and expertise in shapes, structures, and colors was amazing to witness. She listens, suggests, and guides, to deliver a design that goes beyond expectations. Adi, as the project manager is extremely communicative, direct, and transparent, which all combine to contractors on site everyday and a huge confidence on in-time progress. Very highly recommended! read more

Contacting Kanika ended up being a huge waste of my time. They repeatedly contacted me over email and phone, asking me what I was looking for and what my goals were. In each communication, there was no memory of what I had said to them in the past. I had to repeat myself again and again. We weren't building upon our conversations. Given how expensive they are, this made me hesitant to work with them. read more

Kanika turned our house into a warm and inviting home. She really listened to us and took the time to understand what our family needed and presented designs that considered both our budget and our love for modern contemporary style. Her attention for detail is incredible. I loved the way she included colors in our space! Kanika's team helped us throughout our home remodel project and we are really happy with the quality of products and how our space turned out. If you're looking for a reliable, creative, and detail oriented interior designer who makes your project a priority, look no further than Kanika Design. read more

Where should I start.. The absolute amazing experience we had with Kanika design literally forced me to write a review after a very long time. When we moved to our new apartment and were looking for someone who could help us with interior design & furnish our apartment including home office. What can I say, Kanika design team were totally professional and Kanika took the challenge of understanding our design needs, listened patiently to conflicting ideas between my wife & me and delivered the results much beyond our expectations. They turned our apartment to a place where we spend our quality family time and yet manage the work from home too! From the choice of furniture, to how we should setup our kitchen and where we should create the home office space and a space for our kid and how we should manage our limited patio space to be able to spend evenings sipping our choices of drinks...were in a word "Flawless". Extremely happy with the work of Kanika designs and will certainly recommend them to everyone who is looking for an interior designer or to remodel their homes. Cheers Kanika and thank you for evertyhing!!! read more

We hired Kanika during covid to do remodeling for our bay area home. From day 1 we knew we were in the right hands. Kanika helped us in designing complete home interior and introduced us to several interior design concepts which we would have never thought on our own. Kanika really listened to our needs, gave excellent recommendations for material and furnishings and her team were super flexible and helped us all the way to manage the project with construction. We stayed in our budget and are really happy with the results. We have since recommended Kanika Design to many friends and everyone had a positive experience. Their website states that they serve Santa Clara County, however we contacted them about help with a house/winery in San Martin and they said they don't serve the area....very sketchy. Heard about an interior design firm called Kanika Design from my manager so decided to give them a shot. WIth overloaded work, I need a home office which was not originally designed along with the house. Being an amazing interior designer, Kanika was very patient and offered a lot professional and creative ideas that I haven't seen online after I did the research for months. Honestly I think it is easier to make a fancy design instead of a simple yet satisfying one. Fair price is also another reason I love Kanika Design. My home office was definitely worthy. read more

We had great experience working with Kanika in two different projects. We first worked with Kanika 5 years ago to furnish our rental apartment. We loved working with her so much and decided to take her help again, when we purchased our new home. She helped us design our living room and bedrooms and gave color consultation for whole house interior. What we really like about Kanika is that she really listens to your preferences, provides great ideas and lets us make the final choice. We LOVED how everything turned out. If you need an interior designer we highly recommend!! read more

I worked with Kanika on a full-service design consultation to furnish my condo from scratch. I was really impressed by how smoothly the process went. She really honed in on the aesthetic that I was looking for - we barely made any revisions to the initial design plan, and I was a big fan of everything she picked out for me. I had a great experience working with Kanika and would highly recommend her to anyone. read more

We really enjoyed working with Kanika! We reached out via Yelp and her partner followed up with a call to discuss options and pricing. We chose to hire Kanika for a couple of hours ('Designer For A Day' package) to discuss paint colors and pick out a couple of furniture pieces. Kanika jumped right in and listened to what we wanted with our space. She gave clear direction and feedback and made some great suggestions for paint colors. Highly recommend! We'll definitely reach out for future projects. read more

We hired Kanika few months ago to help decorate the living and dining area in our Half Moon Bay home. This was our first time working with an interior decorator and Kanika exceeded all expectations! My wife and I have a different sense of design and Kanika was able to mix and match our ideas and bring them to life in an AMAZING way. She is a great listener and took time to explain everything in times of confusion and husband-wife disagreements. She is straight forward and a lot of fun to work with. She was in our house everyday working with her team to make sure that nothing was left behind and that all work was completed with perfection. Our family is much happier living in the same home now. Kanika is a RISING STAR in the field of interior design and I would give her A+ for her attitude, design and customer satisfaction. read more

Kanika helped us tremendously in determining the finishes for our kitchen and living room. In the worlds of software and web design I've worked with many designers, and I can say that Kanika knows her stuff. Plus she also is able to walk that line between having a point of view, and being able to work with the client's preferences as well. We hired Kanika for half a day, which is actually quite a bit of time, and we covered a lot of ground. She also referred us to several places to source materials such as flooring and tiles, and we've found those to be good places. Kanika really encouraged us to go looking at a number of stores, with our new design ideas in mind, and that worked out well. As an example. there's just no way to buy flooring from a website--it needs to be interacted with. I liked, too, that Kanika helped us understand several design principles, and got us up to speed on things to think about for making our own design decisions. We'll probably ask her a few more questions down the line, once we've really narrowed down our material choices. We are pretty hands on, but you can also delegate the design to her and then just review options--of course that takes a lot more time from her. As with any designer, check out the portfolio for a sense of what you'll be getting. Having said that, understand that for residential work in particular, the clients probably had a heavy hand in final decisions. My sense is that for commercial work, such as an office, it's more hands off, and you can see a designer's vision better. Kanika's portfolio shows great use of color, and modern looks. read more

Kanika helped with our office design project. Before starting I had no idea what to expect from this process. But, in the end, results were beyond our expectations. We loved how she (and her team) guided us throughout the process. We had a wonderful time working with her. It was exciting to see everything come together! The waiting room felt warmer and more inviting with her design. Kanika is inspiring, creative and goes above and beyond. I couldn't have asked for a better experience working with an interior designer. And I can't wait to start my next project with Kanika Design! read more

We hired Kanika for a two hour session and I couldn't be happier. She came to our home in Half Moon Bay to help us with our living room. We'd recently made a few furniture purchases but needed help pulling the room together. Kanika helped us with paint color options (and we already have the sample colors up on the wall), artwork, furniture placement, and several ideas for additional pieces that we need to complete the space. What I really appreciate about Kanika is that she's super easy to work with. She was able to work with our existing furniture, budget, and tastes (particularly with a couple who have very different styles :). After spending the last month spinning my wheels on different furniture sites and Pinterest, we now have a clear plan for our living room that I'm really excited about. read more

I got 2 hours of professional assistance from Kanika. I was moving to a 2 bedroom apartment with mostly rental furniture in the short-term and desperately needed help with short-term and long-term furniture planning and color selection, plus sizes and colors of carpets. I had a prioritized list of problems and ideas by room. I never thought we could get to it all in 2 hours. The furniture placement was challenging due to having 2 computer desks. Kanika jumped right in, listened to my thoughts and gave me excellent suggestions, sometimes with options, sometimes with things to avoid. We completed the entire list in 2 hours. I highly recommend her. She also offers complete design services, which I am sure would be very professional but not what I need right now. read more

We had a designer for a day session with Kanika, which we highly recommend! It's great for someone who needs to get their bearings, but don't need full on project management. She was able to give us a great framework for paint colors, furniture layout, furniture colors, and floor. With this, we could then go research on our own for things that we liked. As you can tell, we got a lot done in one day. read more

I hired Kanika for a 1/2 day session to help pick interior colors for a light remodel project on an old Craftsman style home. I know my limits and interior decorating is not my cup of tea... heck I'm color blind which made Kanika's job even more challenging! By the end of the day, Kanika created a color palette that my wife loved and she even gave us some furniture ideas for the kids. We feel we really got a lot of value for our money! We had another quote from a designer who was literally 7-times more expensive for the same deliverables! I would definitely hire Kanika again! read more

I'm so late writing this review! Kanika helped my husband and I decorate our apartment about a year ago. She came over for a few hours and showed me how I could use the stuff I already owned plus searched on the internet for things we could buy and add. She made a pinterest page with all the links so I could easily find them to purchase. Some of the things she picked I wasn't too sure about, but I went with it. I'm so glad I did because everything looked great! I loved the transformation she did in our living room. I highly recommend her. read more

Kanika Design is simply amazing! She gave me a color consultation for my one-bedroom apartment and I'm simply in love with the color scheme!! She really listened to what I was looking for and showed me a few options rather than showing me the one color I had in mind. My room really defines me as a person - Bold & bright! She helped me pick a few colors that look classy with a bit of sass. I can't wait to one day own my home because I will definitely hire Kanika for interior design services no matter where I'm living! Thank you so much Kanika and team! read more

Kanika redesigned our office, living, and dining room which were the least used rooms in the house. We met with multiple designers and chose Kanika because of her initial design vision, connection while communicating, and reasonable cost. I appreciated the amount of detail in the contract which defined scope of work and the workflow. During the design portion, Kanika was very patient with the (in)decision process of a husband and wife with divergent design ideas and always had alternative choices to keep things moving forward. We felt engaged and involved in all the decisions and we are extremely happy with the finished rooms. We now look forward to entertaining guests in our new functional space. I would highly recommend Kanika. read more

In two hours, Kanika helped us pick paint colors for our whole 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. We did a complete remodel and had to pick all the colors from walls, ceilings, trim, wood, windows & door, and exterior eaves. We worked together to pick two options for each room. She suggested swatching the colors first to make sure we liked them, but I was too lazy. Everything turned out great. :) read more

We bought our new home. I very carefully chose and placed furniture that I loved. I bought delightful window treatments. But something huge was missing -- the art and accessories. This has always been an issue for me. I have no confidence in decorating, and so I don't do it. Now that there's Pinterest, perseverating over the millions of ideas only serves to lock in my paralysis. It was finally time to seek professional help. Kanika came highly recommended. Because I had a limited project scope (art, lamps, rugs), I enlisted her services for a half-day. I was prepared with art I already had, both framed and unframed, and a Pinterest page with some ideas of things I liked. Kanika came ready to listen, observe, and work. She moved quickly through choices and honed in on things I liked and would work well in my space. She helped to find middle ground between my minimalist style and my partner's more *full* style. Best of all, in fewer than 4 hours, we had a plan for the living room, family room, master, kids' room, office, 2 bathrooms, and hallway. I should mention that we had fun throughout the process. With a plan in hand, the paralysis was gone. I made the purchases, hung the art, and have even branched out and chosen some more pieces that I love. Our home is beautiful, and the entire family agrees. Getting Kanika's help was one of the best, stress-relieving decisions I've ever made! read more
