I recently hired Rudolph's Interiors to install custom blackout window shades in my bedroom and could not be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire process went perfectly. Gary met with me for the initial consultation. He was very patient and brought a lot of samples, offering good suggestions. We both came to the perfect final choice. Bill and Riley came the following day to take the measurements.  Less than two weeks later, the installation was just as impressive. Bill arrived right on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and left the area spotless. The new custom blinds look exceptional, fit the windows perfectly, and drastically reduce the amount of light in a very bright bedroom! If you're looking for professional service and beautiful, high-quality custom window treatments, I highly recommend Rudolph's Interiors. read more

I ordered Hunter Douglas shades from Gary, owner of Rudolph's Interiors. Gary was very professional and knowledgeable about his products. He was very patient with me as I took some time in deciding what colors and patterns for my bedrooms. The shades arrived quickly and Gary called me promptly to set a date for the installation. Installer arrived and removed old shades and replaced with new Hunter Douglas shades. Very pleased with Hunter Douglas quality! After shades were installed, Gary followed up with a phone call to make sure I was completely satisfied. For future projects, I will definitely be reaching out to Gary. read more

Gary is phenomenal. He came highly recommended at my building for his work on custom window coverings. He's incredibly generous and I knew he was someone worth working with after he ended up fixing the shades we were originally intending to place. He didn't have to do that and it ended up delaying our work together. I was set on hiring him when we were finally ready because I knew he wasn't just trying to make the sale. He clearly cares about the customer relationship. He created beautiful new custom shades for our living/dining room and my daughter's bedroom. He was great about working with us to find high quality materials that were within our budget and style preferences. His prices are comparable to the big names nearby, but the experience is leaps and bounds above the rest. I have been appreciative of his follow-up and the wonderful team he hired to handle the installation. We will definitely hire him again! read more

I never write reviews but I was compelled by the absolutely unbelievable job Gary and his team did for my loft. Before I get into the details let me say this, and I can't believe I am saying this, but these curtains have completely changed my life for the better. You don't realize what a good window covering is until you have them. My home is so much more calm and elegant after Gary and his team did their magic. I have owned my loft for 21 years. When I first purchased it in my 20s, I had no money and certainly no money to have 70 feet of 13 foot curtains professionally installed. My place faces southeast and the morning light was like standing on the face of the sun. At the time, I called Gary (and other places) and he was the only one willing to work with me on price. I had NO money and Gary was so kind a reasonable and put up something that was gorgeous and affordable. 20 years later, I felt it was time to upgrade to something that better suited the loft. Again I called a number of providers and not only were the prices outrageous but they all wanted to do a simple, cheap solution. I called Gary and he described a thoughtful, custom solution that would black out my loft during the day. When I chose Gary and his team, I was absolutely blown away by the level of detail. He and his colleague scheduled a day just to document and create a template for every nook and cranny in the ceiling of the 100 year old concrete building. NO ONE ELSE OFFERED THIS but Gary. He was able to create a custom valance that followed the unique lines of each window so the light is completely eliminated. It makes such a difference. Install took two days but it showed my how difficult a job this was. They really treated what they do as an art. I think most of all Gary and his time are just really nice people. I would use them again and would recommend them to everyone I could. read more

Gary has been a great resource for years and helped us with our window coverings plus an elegant drape to seal off a stairway that was drafty and kept our home cold in the winter months. Recently we bought custom 1-1/4 inch Hunter Douglas Duette Power View Architella Shades for our bedroom which is in a cupola. The upgrade to the older style Duette in use for 20 years is great. Gary worked with us for months and helped us in numerous ways during the pandemic years with the design, ordering, receiving and installation. I've had the pleasure of doing business with Gary Rudolph twice. He was so helpful and professional. I have had all of my home window coverings replaced by Rudolph's Interiors and could not have asked for better service and quality. I had a budget, and new what I was looking for. Gary showed me samples which helped me to decide on what I wanted within the price I could afford. Gary is very knowledgeable and that provided me with the information I needed to make my decision. I will continue to call Gary when I am in the need for home improvements. read more

I almost never write reviews but Gary and Rudolph's did such an amazing job that I wanted to get the word out. This is a great family business. I had all new drapes and blinds installed. They were replacing old curtains that had been up for decades. I've never had blinds before so it was a learning experience for me. Gary was very patient with me & really helped me understand. My initial choices of blinds was made before my windows were installed. Gary did tell me that he'd have to come back and measure the new windows as they would be slightly different size. At that time, I decided to change the color of the blinds and we went through the process of picking the new blinds as well as deciding on the drapes. The installation of the drapes and blinds went very smoothly. They add so much to the house. I couldn't be happier. A big thank you to Gary and Rudolph Interiors! read more

I had almost given up on finding a custom shade supplier after visiting several high-end shops on the Peninsula due to their failure to show up for appointments, etc. Then I found Gary Rudolph of Rudolph's Interiors who helped me select the perfect custom-made, rechargeable, remote-controlled shades for a huge 4-section window. He was meticulous throughout the design and installation process despite pandemic-caused supply chain problems. Next time, I will not even bother going anywhere else. read more

I worked with Gary and his team at Rudolph's Interiors as part of a many month remodel of our entire house. Gary was an incredible design partner committed to working with me to find the right fabrics and styles for upholstery and a variety of window treatments (draperies, roman shades, cellular shades, silhouettes, luminettes, and valances). Gary is incredibly committed to his craft and to outstanding quality and customer service. I was never rushed to make decisions, and he kept me regularly updated on the status of the various aspects of the project. Gary and his team were polite and respectful of our home when installing materials and provided clear instructions for use. The team built custom ottomans for us and even adjusted, pressed, and hung several older and ready-made items I had previously purchased. I cannot recommend Rudolph's Interiors highly enough. read more

Diane L When I researched companies that installed shutters, Rudolph's Interiors had a top rating. After talking to and getting estimates from a number of other local companies I chose Rudolph's, I am so happy that I did. I loved being able to find a small local business to work with. Gary took the time to explain pros and cons and thoroughly go over options. He is so helpful, friendly, and competent. His installer, Bill, was wonderful. Everything was measured meticulously and the shutters went in perfectly. I recommend Rudolph's without hesitation for anyone looking for window treatments. read more

Gary's deep knowledge of window treatments, great customer service, and reasonable prices is a winning combination. I needed window treatments after completing my home remodel. The home had multiple arched windows and I was initially considering blinds. However, for some blind brands the installation options covered the arch altogether which defeated the purpose of having the arch and I wasn't entirely satisfied with the look of other brands which allowed the shape of the arch to remain visible. During his in-home consultation, Gary offered many of the blind brands that other blind retailers provided. However, after discussing blind options Gary asked if I had considered curtains. I was at first resistant to the idea but Gary recommended I visit his shop for further discussion of both blind and curtain options and to view product samples. At his shop, Gary was able to show me working curtain models and make me feel more comfortable with the idea of curtains. I was concerned that curtains might make the home look dated but Gary had a wide range of fabrics to choose from and he generously ended up meeting with me several times at his shop to discuss the options for the window treatments. We settled on curtains for the arched windows which preserved the look of the arch to my satisfaction and blinds for the non-arched windows. Throughout the process, I got to know Gary on both a professional and personal level and greatly appreciated his collaborative design efforts from both an aesthetic and functional standpoint. Gary employs an amazing seamstress who was able to make me custom curtains with ties and as an added bonus pillows for my living room furniture. When Gary and his worker came to install the curtains and blinds I appreciated the level of attention and care they took to make sure everything worked as it should and looked great. They painstakingly steam treated the curtains after hanging to remove unwanted creases. When one of the wands for the blinds turned out to be damaged, Gary replaced it with one from his shop without having to go through the blind manufacturer. I am grateful to have found Gary with his considerable expertise and ability to work with my budget. He puts the customer first and is not limited to blinds as are many window treatment retailers. I will not hesitate to consult with him on future projects. read more

Our aluminum blinds on 3 windows had worn out and I started searching for a company to replace them. Our windows are in a house that is 65 years old so standard sizes would not work; we needed a service provider who could get custom sizes and install them. I tried contacting several companies but they either failed to respond or the like. Finally I found Rudolph's Interiors and spoke to the owner, Gary Rudolph on the phone. This company is great. Gary was a great communicator, totally reliable. He came to my house and provided good in-person customer service. He measured for our new custom blinds himself. He had a reliable installer he's worked with for 20+ years do the installation. The installer demonstrated skill and efficiency and was also a good professional communicator. He did the work in the time estimated, for the amount estimated. Overall I was very happy with this company and recommend them without qualification! read more

Gary and his team exemplify what top quality products and services should be like. We had a lot of windows covering needs yet only vague ideas of what should be done, and Gary provided great suggestions, which after seeing the installation physically in real life turned out to be just perfect and way better what we had originally in mind. Also his prices are highly competitive and his team really takes the time and pays attention to details. Definitely highly recommended. read more

I rarely write reviews, but am compelled to write one for Gary and Rudolph's. I've purchased two sets of motorized shades from Rudolph's over the past 2 years. Each time, Gary delivered the kind of dedicated, caring, responsive customer service that's representative of family businesses. You would be hard pressed to find a kinder business owner, or one who exudes more authentic care for their customers than Gary. And the products Rudolph's delivers are top quality and well-installed. They work as advertised. If there's a question or issue, Gary would respond immediately and go beyond expectations to respond with a thoughtful well-researched answer. I've also purchased shades from Rebarts, and have experienced frequent problems with their installation and unresponsive customer service. I would recommend Rudolph's without reservation. read more

I contacted over 5 interior drape companies that I saw on Yelp and three of them were very helpful and accommodating, but Gary with Rudolph's Interiors was able to deliver exactly what we needed at a very fair price. He's also a very nice person, which is not always what you encounter when seeking help. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needed window treatments of any kind and I'm sure that he would do whatever it took to keep them happy. read more

I've now used Rudolph's Interiors 2 times. By the way, this is their new address in San Mateo. The first time I used them they were in Daly City, where I live. They're a fairly unique business in that I don't know anyone else who does what they do, or at least, did for me. The first time I turned to them to clean Hunter Douglas blinds I have. I think they're called Duet shades. They have two thin sheets separated by a small gap and they raise up in to a hard shell at the top of the window. Well, in Daly City there's a lot of humidity. This dampness around windows caused mold to grow on the blinds. They were pretty expensive so I wanted them cleaned. I turned to Rudolph's to do the job. They came when they said they would and uninstalled the blinds and took them to their shop. About 10 days later they returned with the blinds totally clean and reinstalled them. We were very happy with this job. Recently we were dismayed to find mold growing under the seat cushion on an ultrasuede chair that sits in our living room near the sliding glass door. Dampness strikes again! As before Rudolph's came and picked up the chair when they said they would (a 1-hour window by the way, which is rare). About 10 days later we got back a totally cleaned up chair. They even threw in refreshing the back cushion, which our kids had smashed up pretty good. That was really nice and unexpected. When we're ready for a refresh on our couch we'll be turning to Rudolph's again. They're friendly, fairly priced and get the job done as promised. I like that. I needed new window coverings that would protect my paintings and other artwork from the sun, which streams in through south facing windows and skylights and yet allow me some view outwards. Gary Rudolph came to my house to survey my requirements. He explained the various technologies for UV protection and showed me several samples that he thought would fit the bill. These included different fabrics, color schemes, and degrees of opaqueness. We also discussed different mechanisms - draw strings vs. chain and gear. Finally, he consulted on whether to motorize the skylight coverings, they being 15 or more feet above the floor. Gary and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently to install the coverings. The skylights presented particular challenges because one was directly above a stairwell and he and Bill needed to jury-rig a sort-of scaffold to get at it. Also, they required several adjustments to make sure that they operated smoothly, and Gary made two extra visits before he was completely satisfied. I was very grateful for this; I feel that less conscientious contractors might have left me hanging (so to speak) with the problem. Nothing is inexpensive any more, but Gary's prices are very reasonable for the quality of his work and attention to every little detail, from initial consultation until final sign-off. He even called back a month or two later to make sure I was satisfied. I am completely impressed, and I recommend Rudolph's Interiors to anyone who is looking for a quality product at a fair price. read more

These guys are great! I called at least 5 different shade companies and could only find companies who installed motorized shades, but didn't repair. It was a bit frustrating until Gary answered at Rudolph's. He said I called the right place and assured me that they would do all they could to help. What a relief! He asked me to send pictures (I live in San Francisco and they are based in San Mateo) so he could get a better idea of what kind of shade system I had and what work needed to be done. It was brilliant. I sent him pictures that evening and he sent two guys the next day. Art and Vern were fantastic. They took their time and did it right. My shades are now working again and I now know who to call if something else goes wrong. I highly recommend Rudolph's. They are professional, prompt, and did exactly what they promised to do. read more

I have a fairly large project to replace almost all of the windows in my home with new window treatments. Gary from Rudolph's Interiors came to our home to give us suggestions and ideas of what would be possible options for us to select. Gary offered us quality products that no other company even suggested to us. Gary was patient, understanding, professional, easy to work with, and he went above and beyond for us. He spent ample time with us to answer any and all of our questions. He even followed up with phone calls and kept us in the loop during our proposal/estimate process. Gary was prompt, efficient, and so ready to work with us as the client to give us exactly what we want and need at the price we expect. Can't thank him enough! read more

This company's products are top-notch, and their installation services are awesome! We love their custom thermal blinds, and had some installed many years ago. I selected Rudolph Interiors to replace my manual blinds that I had for a long time since I was extremely impressed with the work they did on another unit in the building that I live at. And the owner of that unit only had great things to say about working with Gary. Gary helped me select motorized solar shades for my loft that met my criteria for the right amount of light, complied with the HOA regulations and met my budget. He was extremely helpful and patient while I was deciding what material and brand to go with. I would never be mistaken for an interior designer so I needed much more design advice then the typical customer and Gary is absolutely great at helping you make decisions with that you will be happy with in the future. You never feel rushed when working with Gary and you can tell he loves the work that he does. After I made the selection, the project went like clock work and any issues encountered were quickly overcome. Gary, Vern and his whole team did a great job on a truly professional installation that was certainly harder then normal because the windows in my loft are gigantic and they had to integrate a header box into concrete to hold the blinds. The motorized shades have worked out great and have made a major difference to my loft. read more

Outstanding service and solid advice. My 100+ year-old dining room chairs desperately needed to have the seats recovered.
