He explained that the Battery wand needed charging and showed me how to remove it and charge it. Today, Oscar followed up to let me know that the charger had been ordered and they would let me know the specific date soon. The company that originally installed it had not done any of that! Shade Service also ordered a charger for me since I didn't have one. The original company only had an appointment 2 weeks out. Shade Service gave an appointment within2 days. The original quote that I received did not include the fee for cleaning, only travel service for pick up and delivery, plus the repair fees, but I'm happy with the great job they did in cleaning the Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades which were full of dust and some dead insects. My second time visiting Shade Service. I enjoyed the personalized responses to my questions and fair pricing. I had a cellular honeycomb blackout shade with mold/mildew cleaned. They explained that the stains would be improved, but not completely removed since the blackout style limited cleaning options which was understandable. We had a crew come out to repair a chain that had jumped off the mechanism and broke. The blinds were 16+ ft tall and in a bay window, not an ideal location to be sure. The first trip out, there was a team of two, halfway through one of the people accidently dropped the heavy metal valence on the other's hand, breaking a branch off a rare plant, crashing into a glass table, the injured person got quite a bit of blood on the floor and ladder, and had to go to the ER. The second time time one person came out, and dropped the valence again, tearing the shade in two places, denting the metal valance as well. He wasn't able to put the valance back. I reached out to SF Blind Cleaners and they've stopped responding to emails. Update : The general manager of the company canceled a second time, last minute (canceling at the time they should have arrived) he was very concerned that they get paid even though at this point they'd done more damage to our home than the cost of the service estimate to begin with. HE accused me of misrepresenting the height of the window (I'd included the height and photos in the initial request) He was more concerned with getting paid then ensuring the work was done properly. read more

SF Blind Cleaners' owner Andy is so careless about serving customers that I do not know how he stays in business. He was a no-show on so many occasions that I have lost count. He showed no respect for our time and appears to assume that we have nothing better to do than to sit and wait on the off chance that he will decide to show up. Only AFTER the appointed time had passed did he bother to let us know he would no be able to come. He re-strung a vertical blind for us and a few days after it was installed, one of the panels fell off. We replaced it and it fell off again. Only after I stood on a stepladder and got up-close with it could I see what was wrong and fix the errant panel. He cleaned a shade for us and a few weeks afterward, it was dirty again. He came out to look at the vertical blind that kept falling off and we showed him how it was dirty again. We told him we didn't blame him -- it did come back from his shop clean -- but that we needed his help to figure out why it was dirty again. Andy was so uninterested in us as customers that he could not even bother to take a look at the shade to tell us what might be going wrong. Really. HE is supposed to be the expert on window coverings and we REALLY needed his help. Too bad for us. Too bad for anyone who attempts to do business with this loser. read more
